I saw Once on This Island and it was wonderful. It was such a fun place to visit and support. We will definitely be back.

That said, I was a little disappointed to find out that even with a reserved table, there's a $30 minimum if you want to stay for the jazz, and a $25 minimum for the comedy. I understand businesses have minimums, but personally, I prefer places where I can come in, relax, listen to the music, and decide what I want to spend without feeling pressured--especially when I'm experiencing a band or comedian for the first time and don't know what to expect. The waitress was okay, although there were a few assumptions made during my visit that I didn't feel were appropriate. I'm glad I checked it out and experienced it for myself. It just probably isn't somewhere I'll return to. I'm looking for more of a laid-back, come-as-you-are kind of spot where I can enjoy the entertainment without feeling obligated to meet a spending minimum. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! At least now I know.

My husband found this place and was interested because of the live music and it being a jazz place. We ubered there which seemed smart because it's street parking and seemed quite limited. There's a $5 cover on Fridays and Saturdays (I think they have live music both days) and we did not have a reservation. I think if you have a reservation you can get a table in their back area. We were up front with the band. It's a pretty small place, maybe about 5 or 6 high top tables in the front, the bar toward the back, and that back room which we didn't look in. We cozied up until someone left a high top and then hung out there. We ordered some drinks that were specials for the night and some that were regularly on the menu. We had a great time! Drinks were good, I think also reasonably priced. Music went from 7pm to 10pm and we got there around 7:30 and it was good and busy! This definitely feels like a family joint, their mascot is their little chihuahua Wishbone and I love that so much. Owners were fun, kept things going while the band was on break, just overall a really good time. I'm not much of a drinker so I can't speak to the types of liquor, but I definitely was feeling my drinks and couldn't finish my 3rd. If we lived here I think this would become a regular spot for us. What a fun time!

We went for some drinks and something to eat after an event and it was the perfect place to wind down, listen to some great music and just enjoy yourself and your company. We had the charcuterie board with meat and it was perfect. There were a lot of different meats and cheeses I thoroughly enjoyed and a perfect accompaniment to the drinks, which was my main focus. I had the Exotica '58 Tiki and my gf had the Midnight Driver. Both were delicious and potent and looked incredible (see pic). We will definitely be back here but next time we might bring some folks to join the vibe... or maybe not. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

But, my…read moregroup ordered 3 drinks in total here and they were the worst cocktails I've had in my life, and they were $17. My friend ordered a "sexy boy" and it tasted like straight up Pine-sol. I LOVE something a little herbal or bitter-- this was not that, all 3 of us agreed it was undrinkable. She brought it back to the bartender for a lemon drop, that ended up being made sickeningly sweet, like biting into a cinnamon roll!! Can't we just get a normal drink!? There's a wide, wide range between Pine-sol and cinnamon roll. It almost felt insulting, honestly, like a bad joke.. I ordered one of their "specials" and it also came out tasting like cleaning solution. I know bitter Italian liqueurs, I'm not freshly 21, and I can usually get by with a drink I don't prefer, but this was (once again) soooo over-the-top bitter. It just didn't taste like something you should even put in your body-- cleaning solution is the most accurate descriptor. I was excited because this place has great reviews, but we must have came on a bad night.. I'd come back for the DJs, just order water or something in a can.

They are very organized as far as getting the attendees to their seats. They are also very friendly. We found the place to be very clean and the chairs pretty comfortable. Our tickets were for the C section which was seated further and higher. I thought this was perfect for the performance we were seeing. I will have to keep this place in mind for future shows. I would recommend the theater. Street parking is available and not too far away is a parking garage. Be aware of where you park, watch for timed parking signs.

Fortunately, the musicians were all top notch professional musicians with peak level musicality other wise I would have walked out... MUSICIANS: Professional and their playing was very soothing. They even performed an encore at the end which was the Legend of Zelda... SERVICE: C+ I felt like I was entering TSA check in at the airport. Phones must be silent. I couldn't even have the screen on. Too strict for a small theatre... AMBIANCE: 7/10 you could hear fire trucks passing by in the background. Do they plan to leave the theater doors open throughout the entire performance? This is definitely very different from Carnegie Hall... I should have known better. Joe Hisaishi would not be performing at a little theatre like this one... I would steer clear!!!

I always wondered about Rosewood, but haven't tried it because it is Japanese which I know nothing about. Yesterday I had to try it. Maren, my server, reviewed the menu and suggested Shio Tonkotsu, a popular Ramen dish. I chose chicken over pork and was overjoyed by my choice. The chicken was so delicious as was the Ramen and the broth. Rosewood is a new adventure for me and I have to try their other dishes. I'll let you know what I think because Rosewood is going to get another visit. I forgot to mention their outside patio is a fun place to enjoy a meal.

We settled on Oceanside in hopes of finding good food, as our weekend (end of Feb) had been full of a poor results. This place came up as very well rated on Yelp, as my friend and I searched for places to eat. It was a Saturday night with great weather. The red flag I should have read into was that the lone guy working that night was a one man show. He was doing it all in the front of the house. I tried to get us a table to sit outdoors but he just couldn't get to the table to clean it. After about 20 minutes he finally came and just moved all the bowls to the empty table next to it and wiped it down. When my friends finally arrived we all sat down to sticky menus that had NO descriptions. What you see on the website is exactly what they have on the menu. We had to wait to ask the server/host what each menu item meant. It took a while to get our food from when we ordered. Thank goodness for good company, I didn't clock it. The food options were limited and keep in mind for those who have children, most of the options come with a spicy kick, you'll have to explicitly tell them "no spicy"! There was a party who had been sitting for a while before we got there and a kiddo took a bite of pizza and was crying, screaming from it being so spicy. With my ramen the portions are tiny for what you pay, with 1 piece of meat, not enough noodles. Flavor wise it was spicy and bland. We ordered a couple appetizers which were not very good. The edamame was overly salty and soaked in soy sauce and the karaage was probably the only good thing and that was a little overfried. No one in our party finished our food or took any of the leftovers home. Save yourself the trip, not worth trying the "unique foods".
