This is a big building with lots of screens. The parking is plentiful. Like most theaters you need a sweater or jacket to keep warm. It does the job without any frills. It's mostly clean, the sound is fine and it has a lot of seats, most of which were open for my movie. I do really wish it had reclining seats though, if I had known it didn't, I likely would have chosen a different theater. read more

Regal Cinemas will always be my favorite movie theater chain. As a kid I grew up going to the Regal in Escondido and I have so many fond memories there. That being said, I had a great experience at this location. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, the theater was very clean, and both the picture and audio were crystal clear. It may not be the most luxurious theater but it's rich in character and has a warm ambience that one looks for when wanting to enjoy a film. read more

I agree with other Yelpers that this location is in need of an upgrade to recliner seats. Other than that, they do have a diverse selection of movies that are shown here. There is plenty of parking and nearby eateries that you can go before or after your flick. To draw to an end, the facility is kept clean and the staff has been friendly. read more

I stopped here first to see if I could find my son the Marty popcorn bucket. The line was long and they were very busy but it was ok because I met a really nice lady and we got to chat while we waited. The staff was awesome, very friendly and helpful and checked everywhere ro see if they had any buckets anywhere, even in the back. I appreciated it. First allow us to state that the managers and the employees at this theatre are amazing and have never had an issue. But recently at the summer movies events featuring G-rated movies for children, we had 2 young adults with no children cusing using M.F.'ers and talking loudly and hinting that their acid is kicking in. And then with our four children, my wife and myself, a seperate man with again, no children, with what we would describe as shady as hell with an air of evil sits right behind me in an almost empty theatre. My wife comes back from the restrooms to get eyes on this guy and she says we want to leave and simultaneously our kids are getting the heebeegeebees from this dude and we promptly leave within the first 10 minutes of the start of the movie. It seems to me that I don't send my 9 year old to an R- rated because it's inappropriate, I wish the theatre would deny entry to men without children into G-rated movies because to be honest unless you're a P3DÖ why in the hell are you at a movies designed for kids? It's inappropriate behaviour. Also the fact that you are forced to assigned seating, a person wanting to cause harm to a theatre, he would know exactly where to sit. Just show up 10 minutes late and pick your perch on high from the screen in the lobby where it shows taken and available seats, which is exactly what it felt like this man did. The movie they're mind you was at less than 10% occupancy. We notified mangment of the situation as we left and he graciously offered a refund which we declined, we just wanted out of there. This is obviously a sign of the times and is no fault of the managers or employees. Sadly our society is taking a less than the optimal trajectory to be considered safe for young families. I wish something could be done about this but then again we have men using women's restrooms. There used to be a time not long ago that men didn't go to kids G-rated movies. There used to be a time that people's wives and kids just enjoyed places like little old San Marcos and didn't have the fear of bullets bouncing off little league fields, Mexican gang bangers, or idiots pulling guns on cops and getting *WASTED* like a scene from GTA V on Twin Oaks Valley Road. This used to be a nice place. Please if you go out, have situational awareness. Be prepared. San Marcos used to be a small town. Went to go see a movie and the workers who were taking tickets are goofing off out front and rudely asked for our tickets as if we were inconveniencing them. I wish they would have guided us and welcomed us inside instead of us looking confused. Once in our theater, the advertisements ran for 15 minutes after our showtime was about to begin. Our movie started about 30 minutes after it was supposed to and the amount of advertisements was absurd. Why did I pay close to $20 per ticket to watch ads for 30 minutes? Probably won't come back. This theater should have been demolished years ago. Frequent power outages in the middle of the movie, the bathrooms smell like a backed up sewer, & the theater seat smell like vomit. It would almost be like an old time visit to the theater of days gone by if the employees weren't so rude. read more

HOWEVER, we just experienced TWENTY FIVE (25) MINUTES of commercials, including previews, before the movie we paid for started. This was too much and I don't think I'll be back. Went back for the 1st time in years.( not the theaters fault). We enjoyed our visit. We saw the 1st showing of the day. The was a small wait at the concession stand after the movie. Sound for our senior ears is a bit loud, though didn't seem as load as Escondido's. You do get use to it. Not too chill overall & plenty of parking. They advertise a month ticket package which was pretty darn good. (don't remember the exact details, seniors) Sure stadium seats are nice but found the seating comfortable. Great Local Theater, But the New Seats Need Work It's so nice to have a theater nearby, and the staff is super friendly. But they dumped their kind, professional senior greeters, I always felt I was lending them a bit of support by choosing to go there. The place looks cleaner, inside and out. It had really been neglected. But I've got to say, the new seats were these high-back chairs that are quite straight, with hardly any movement, and the armrests don't go up. I couldn't get comfortable the whole time. It was the first time I've ever been that aware of a movie seat. My husband, who's a big guy, complained that the seat back was pushing him forward the whole time, so it wasn't just me. He says he won't sit through another movie there. I was so happy to see they'd made an effort on improvements. I wish they'd tried out the seats before buying them! I'm not sure I'll be going back. Great variety of times and movies offered here. They have 3D as well. We did have a disappointing experience with the restrooms being filthy, no soap, no toilet paper, and pretty smelly. For that reason alone, I won't be coming back. Any place that doesn't have hand soap in the bathrooms means that the employees are not washing their hands before they handle all the concessions (popcorn, soda, food, etc..) and we were there 4 hours so no handwashing of employees during that whole time. Movie theatre was decent, smells a bit musty but sound and video was great. For the price of the ticket here, there should be cleaner facilities. read more

Sad to see how run down this place has become, but still a decent theatre. Biggest complaint is that they have previews for 30 MINUTES. If you're watching a long movie, this makes it even longer and the chairs become uncomfortable. Tickets are sold inside and the lines for snacks are slow. Theatres and restrooms (M/F) are clean.
