As a native New Yorker who despises 42nd Street, I found a reason to go. I loved seeing the Odyssey in premium format there. it was the best experience I had at a movie theater in a while. It was worth the cost. The theater was very clean, and the staff was nice. I went to this movie as a last-minute solo date, and it was fun. The ticket guy at the one register was awesome. It is mostly a self-service kiosk for buying tickets. I purchased an ice cream and a bottle of water. it cost $16, but hey, I am worth it. It was a solo date. The guy who scans your ticket checks bags as well. I guess for contraband. There is a warning sign about flashing lights and water. The best part of the experience is the moving chairs. I want to see the Odyssey again. read more

I am 100% happy I spend the 60 bucks for these seats. Never had a experienced watching a movie like this before. Spiderman was amazing. I cannot believe our seats moved during every action scene. Only downside was this couple sitting next to us who wouldn't shut the heck up. Without giving away the movie you do need to see thunderbolts (new avengers) before seeing this Spiderman. I was happy to see one of my favorite stranger things characters in the movie. I didn't feel any mist in my seat because the boring couple next to me turned theirs off. I was so happy when the lady went to the bathroom I was able to enjoy the movie more. I recommend going to a higher level to watch the movie I was in D13 & D14. Next time I will sit further in the back because there were some scenes that I saw flashing lights in my side view. Either way it was wonderful for my first time. I don't recommend getting popcorn it will fly everywhere. Haha. While the ticket prices were high its worth it in my book. Your paying for an experience. The loud banging noises were super cool. I did notice the isle seats move a lot more than the inner seats. I think this will be the only way I will watch marvel movies from now on! The seats were clean, the floors were clean. I was pretty surprised at how clean the theather was overall. Don't come tho if you are going to be a chatter box. We brought our kids to Regal Times Square to celebrate their stepping up ceremony with a showing of Toy Story 5, and it made for a fun class/school outing. The theater was clean, well maintained, and the staff we interacted with were friendly and pleasant. Our seats were comfortable, and one feature we especially appreciated was the built-in trays. It's such a simple detail, but it made a big difference for our kids--they didn't have to balance popcorn, snacks, and drinks in their laps for the entire movie. The only downside was that the sound seemed a bit louder than necessary during parts of the movie. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but we definitely noticed it. Overall, we had a great visit and would happily return for another family movie night. (I'm placing descriptors so other customers know which manager, not to call out any of their physical attributes. Only attribute that matters in our experience was her attitude and demeanor towards us) I had a pleasant experience here at this Regal theater with EVERYONE EXCEPT THE POWER HUNGRY MANAGER that came and tried to "assist" us with redeemable passes we got from a different Regal. Passes we were told that could be used at any other Regal. The experience starts off with us stating "we're trying to get redeemable tix for the 10pm Obsession" The manager goes, "10pm for that movie? We don't have a 10pm" SPOILER: They had a 10PM showing of Obsession Instead of actually assisting or helping, she pushed back with every question we had - treating us like we were dumb. Claiming it was already redeemed when we knew it wasn't. Making us feel like we were trying to rob the place. Bro paying for the tickets wasn't a big deal, we just wanted to use the redeemable passes we got. Long story short, nothing was redeemed. Manager was more interested in setting an authoritative position rather than assisting customers. We're in communication of Regal customer service online and hoping it gets resolved. Could this have been a redeemable pass error online or at the previous location where we originally got the passes from? Yeah 100%. We truly don't know why it's not working, but don't make your customers feel like they're a bother to you when they're trying to understand or figure something out. Like wtf? Is it so hard to say, "Sorry don't know why it's not working properly, could be many reasons. Here's what we can do for you" ??? NOTE: we got these redeemable passes at a different location where one of the customers was smoking a cigarette inside our theater as the movie was playing. We left our seats immediately and notified the staff, theater staff gave us these passes for the inconvenience. read more

I have never been to this theater due to its proximity to Times Square. Why go to a movie theater in one of the most crowded places in the city? However, I wanted to see a movie after work and this was the earliest screening time. I got off the one train and made it in time. There is an AMC directly across the street so I don't know how they have profitable business when they are right next to each other. This place was awesome. After going through all the escalators, I reached the top floor. I was surprised at how large this theater was. They have a wide open two floors and dining area. I was able to walk around and see all the attractions nearby. It was crowded but there was space for everyone to maintain distance and not bump into each other. This theater was bigger than other ones I have been to in the city. The highlight was definitely the top floor. They had a whole RPX area with bright lights and large projection screens. This was a cool place to hang out. I ended up seeing a movie in RPX. It is usually close to $40 for a ticket with everything included. Luckily I had a five dollar ticket from TMobile which eased the cost. I don't know if I would spend all that money for a ticket myself. I did have a great time and plan to come back here again soon. Came here while visiting New York. Average theater. They did have a good selection of beer and wine. Our theater was at the top of the building and when we came out of the late movie after midnight. They had shut down the escalators and the employee was reluctant to let us use the elevator. I had to let her know that we would not be climbing down 7 floors on a turned off escalator. You cant switch of the escalators before your patrons are out of the movie. read more

This theater is a hit or a miss. Not all theaters have reclining seats. And even when you do end up in one with reclining seats, the seat is broken! It was such a letdown. read more

This is a cool location and I have been here a lot of times over the years. Personally, I do prefer it compared to the AMC across the street. Usually alot of the movies that I want to see are playing here. Concessions are pretty easy to get to when you need a popcorn, soda or hot dog or all three at one time. Seems like a lot of construction going on at random times but I guess the upkeep of the theater just has more effort than some other places that still look super old. Usually what I love about Regal other than the popcorn and Crown Club membership are the seats. It is usually a nice distance between you and the next person especially compared to other theaters. They have the 4DX here and the RPX theater as well which gives you a more premium experience. Shoutout to the workers here, they are usually pretty cool and shout out to Regal Unlimited program, you can see alot of movies basic just in a month since it is unlimited like you can even see 2 or 3 movies in one day. read more

I was at the premiere of Good Boy here, the horror movie shown from the dog's perspective. The movie was unique and incredible but this review is not a review about the movie, but it does just go to show that this theatre screens movies you cannot find elsewhere, which does make me rate this theatre overall quite favorably. At the time I could not find a showing of Good Boy anywhere else in any other city I was going to be in that week so I left the Rangers/Devils game early for this premiere. Despite spending a lot of time in Midtown over the years for work and work-adjacent activities, I had never been inside this theatre before Good Boy finally delivered me. This Regal is clean and once you get in from Times Square is a world removed from just out on the street. It is actually quiet and calm, and does not feel like you are anywhere near Times Square. The one demerit this locations receives is that the fabric on the chairs has started to go so they need some refurbishments. Twenty minutes before I walked in to the Regal I was at MSG as a Hughes fan so I was dressed expecting to have beer thrown at me or near me, but I was speedwalking (the new term is walkmaxxing, at least in Disney World) so I would dry off on the way, but I hadn't anticipated pieces of pleather (or whatever this material was) sticking to my posterior. Unique movie selections, definitely worth visiting if you are trying to catch a movie that is hard to find elsewhere. read more

Came to this Regal with my family for the Super Mario Galaxy release. 1st floor is a narrow walkway with kiosk and register for ticket purchases. Escalator connects to 5 below which is great for pre flick snacks. Ticket admission was quick and concession was crowded but moving at a good pace. The guy that took my order was nice and polite. Theater snacks have gotten pricey but who goes to the movies and not buy popcorn and drinks. They do serve beer here if you like to have one with a movie. I got 4DX tickets which is a cool experience for movies with action scenes in it. Theater was clean when we got to our seats which can be kind of confusing to find number wise because they are labeled in very small font in sections. Overall great theater. Not my first time here and I have no problem adding it to my selection of theaters I frequent read more

Went to a screening for the new Jurassic World movie but had the worst experience waiting in line to get my tickets. The regal staff moved people to wait outside while people were later lining up inside causing chaos and unfairness for people that got there first. They also couldnt line people up after they noticed the big crowd blocking the entrance to the theather. It was so crowded my husband kept being told to make room but having nowhere to go seemed like a pointless thing to say. Once i was able to get us i to the theather we were led to the screening in their 4DX room! The place was clean and the seats were a little smaller than other rooms. Throughout the movie the movie chairs and the water spray made it feel like a small rollercoaster ride almost causing me to slide off at points but so fun! After the movie we went to purchase their Drips drink, cotton candy and dragon fruit flavors. The staff member messed up one of the drinks by making the pepsi drip flavor which they fixed and the cotton candy drip was missing the popping bubbles. Overall the drinks where still great. We also got the jurassic park bucket which at first they thought they ran out but where able to find us one which was amazing as it is an amazing bucket. read more

My friends and I were really excited for a fun 4DX experience while watching Avatar. The line to get food and drinks was pretty absurd and moved pretty slow. After waiting 20 mins I finally reached the counter... I asked for pretzel bites with choose- that was not available I asked for corn dog bites- they were not available I asked for a hot dog- she said they were not done cooking I asked for a banshee popcorn bucket or cup- they did not have any I then asked for a large ginger ale- none available...it would have saved me more time if they told me what they did actually have there. The 4DX experience was cool but I feel like there are other theaters that put on a better "show" experience. The seats moved with the movie but for Avatar Fire and ash, there was hardly any fog, the water was extremely weak .... it came on maybe twice...and did not come from the seats, so if you were sitting in the back (which we were) you did not feel any of the water or get any of the "smells" 4DX offered. It was still a cool experience but I feel like other 4DX theaters are more put together than this one. read more

This is an interesting movie theater. From a movie experience perspective, this is pretty much world class. Great sound, great screen, and great selection of movies. So why 3 stars? It was not my first time at this Regal but first time at the 4DX theater. I think this was the perfect movie to test out this experience. How To Train Your Dragon has a very active setting. Now I think I'm already hooked . The feeling of being in the movie itself is heightened. Movement, sound, scents, water mist. Wow. Its a lot of shaking and undulating like a roller-coaster depending on the movie . My hubby saw Final Destination and said it was less movement but still a heightened experience. If there's fires you smell smoke , in the forest you smell grassy notes. Its subtle but noticeable and it doesn't linger when the scene ends. I'd definitely recommend if you are into this type of setting. Its not for those with motion sickness for sure. Food like popcorn can spill . This was a private screening we attended and we were allowed/encouraged to make a video of our experience in a short preview before the movie actually started. That was fun . Once that part was over we obviously had to put phones away for the HTTYD part. I'll try to include video clip with my photos ,be warned I scream and giggle a lot. The theater was filled with kids , some will enjoy this experience, but I would be cautious with anyone with sensory issues. Its intense and sounds are "felt". Theater cleanliness was very good. I do think they should have more bathrooms stalls, the line was a bit ridiculous for the capacity expected at a showing. read more

Regal Times Square 4DX - A Thrilling Experience! Caught Mission: Impossible in 4DX and it definitely lived up to the hype. The motion seats, wind blasts, and strobe effects made it feel like I was right there with Ethan Hunt on every chase and cliffhanger moment. The 4DX effects were intense, especially during the action scenes -- almost like a theme park ride. The theater itself was clean, the staff was helpful, and it was easy to get in and out even with the Times Square crowds. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the effects can be a bit much during dialogue-heavy scenes, and the seats could be slightly more comfortable. Still, if you want an immersive, adrenaline-pumping movie night -- this is the spot. Definitely worth it for a blockbuster like Mission: Impossible. read more

Decent theater in the middle of Time Square. I would AVOID the area but this was close to where we were staying and had a showtime that matched. We were in NYC but wanted to watch a movie, so what do you do. You can tell it's an older theater, but it still has reclining seats, and it's connected to the Westin Hotel. Overall a decent experience, this theater was the only place there were no crowds. The sound quality was really bad - the movie was so quiet, but otherwise not a bad option. We were watching Fall Guy and it's an action movie and you for sure want a lot of sound. But lots of previews beforehand. TIP: There's a Five and Below and you can get much cheaper snacks here. Also Regal is a Pepsi theater. We did get popcorn at the theater. read more

The theater was clean, the staff was efficient, and the seats were surprisingly comfortable, especially for a packed screening. The energy in the room made everything feel bigger, brighter, better. The 4DX theatre is a lot of fun and feels like Im on an amusement park ride, it's literally the perfect thing to do on a day in NY if you want something different to do. Its been a while since I saw a regular show here but I recall the seats being comfortable enough. For the bad They really need to get their things in order. The escalator wasn't working when I arrived, the elevator took a ridiculously long time and the 4DX seats need some oiling because the sound is so loud when it moves that I thought the noise was a part of the film. The cool thing about this location is the 5 below that you can access via the same elevator as the theatre so don't forget to load up on your snacks! read more

We were there pretty early 1:45 but still disappointing that the bar wasn't open. Only one person working dealing with tickets and food orders and you still have to go through the line even when you pre purchase the tickets so stood in line for a while. Ordered loaded steak fries guy says those don't have steak on them you have to add the steak. I get it steak fries are a type of fries but $13 for fries with just feta cheese onions and chives on them? Feels like they are intentionally misleading you with the name to upsell adding steak to the fries. The movie did not start until around 2:10 which was weird but the seats were comfy. read more

The facility is actually really nice and the staff is super nice however, I did not enjoy my experience. I could not enjoy the movie because people next to me were smoking weed while the movie was playing. Yes you read that correctly. There were groups of people talking throughout the movie, using their flashlight constantly right next to me, sending voice notes. It was awful, I haven't been to the movie in years and to be paying so much for an experience like that, I will stay home for now and wait for it to come out on streaming platforms. I did go to a late showing so I would definitely recommend going earlier in the day for a better experience. Went to go see "Sentimental Value" during the day after it won. Felt it would be safer during the day. A group of 3 white people; 2- horrendous females and a loud mouthed A Hole male all educated uneducated moved to my row after NOT liking their row. There were other rows empty or with one person. I felt they were agents. They were rude, poorly parented, I showed them on the map that I am the only one in the row and they refused to leave and told me to leave. Mangers do nothing. I nodded off and my purse was opened, nothing taken, ID checked probably. People in that Regal theater are abusive from Bums To Whites And Blacks. I say bums only because they definitely sit next to you, prey on you instead of being decent poor people who mind their manners, sit in their own row out of respect to those with tickets. Managers wont make them get tix and they dont get tix, they float. Be careful at night. I dot mind people who sleep and I am compassionate. The ones at night are rough and tough and the managers are lame and dont check all for tix. It would help. Had waited on concessions for over 40 minutes once because people were allowed to skip the line of the same color. My report led to an online concessions ordering app. That's cool. I dont feel comfortable being sandwiched in by 2 bums. I stayed calm at first for a while and after all the managers doing nothing, I am grossed out in 2026 and cant. I was attacked in one Regal Theater, robbed in another and I know my purse was looked into in this one on two occasions. I dont leave money in there. I have many positive changes per my reports at those Regals. This place is bad and could be treated, but mangers are bad. Staff are Super Sweet. Most Were Fired And A Loss. I feel bad they were fired by lame people. If I get a show, I hope they work with me. They were always a pleasure-- excellent people with excellent ethics and attention to details. I went on the 14th of February (Happy Valentine's). The staff were professional and courteous. The concessions, the screening room, the bathrooms were clean. The seats were comfortable. I liked the tray with the cup holder. The concessions were fresh and tasty. I reviewed this theater a few months ago when I was here and it still is a go to place to catch a movie. The only thing is I was in a different auditorium (auditorium three) this time compared to last time. If you're in auditorium three, I recommend the D section; d6 or d7. tl;dr - Don't go here if you actually want to watch the movie. If you want to act out, be as loud as you want, and not give a damn about the people around you, THIS IS THE PLACE. Long version: I went to see a film there last night (2025 06.07) and the woman next to me took a phone call. Rude. Then got off the phone and started texting them. I told her "do you mind?" and she said "I'm just texting someone, I'll only be a moment" as if that's ok because she's admitting it. I told her she should do that outside the theater. She acted like I was some sort of weirdo for suggesting such an indignity, and decided to ignore me. I went downstairs to get a refund, and unfortunately could only get passes to see another movie and run the already observed risk of going through this once again. Granted the employees are only doing what they're told to, and they're as helpful as they can be and I appreciate it. But it's as if the old 42nd street of the 70s and 80s was back. In the 80s there were 3 kinds of theaters - adult, kung-fu, and actually current/first run films. Out of curiosity I tried the 3rd of those (I think it was Beverly Hills Cop 2) and every single person there was talking with their friends like it's a night club, with the occasional trash can being thrown down the stairs. The only thing you could hear in the movie is when someone made a "toilet humor" joke, to which everyone would laugh, but then go back to their conversations. Now I'm not saying this theater is that bad, but I get the distinct impression that Regal wouldn't care either way, as long as the money keeps flowing. So let it flow, but it won't be mine. read more

First time at this location! I was so surprised to see a movie theater near Times Square but we went because it ends with us was playing!! Off that bat, it's an old building and the escalators do not always work. Also the seats are rundown. Could it be because it's in a high traffic area? Most likely but if you're charging me $21 for just a ticket... I expect a little more cleanliness and upkeep to the furniture. Second, prices are higher because you're in Times Square. That's it. I typically avoid going to Times Square at all costs because of the crowds and the chaos, but sometimes I make an exception for this regal location. They show essentially every major film release with plenty of showtimes, so if there's a big new movie I want to see, chances are this is one of the only places that will have a good showtime playing it. The theater itself is strangely Egypytian themed on certain floors, with sphinx statues throughout. With this level of foot traffic, this theater is not exactly the cleanest. I'd never put my things on the floor and I make sure to change out of my outside clothes as soon as I get home. One upside to seeing a movie here is the ability to get a pulse on how New Yorkers are reacting to the latest movies. You encounter quite the cast of characters and their entertaining commentary always makes me laugh. It used to be that the Union Square location played this role but now that it's closed this Times Square location is where I go. So while Regal Times Square may not be the most pleasant theater experience, it's an interesting scene for sure. Just prepare for the chaos and grime. read more

First time attending this location. I like the design and concession staff promptness. I only came to this location due to surprisingly sold out 4dx today screening of twister across NYC. Can't beat the discounted Tuesday price which makes sense for full house. I was forced to buy row A seats which is way to close and why I gave 3 stars for poor design. The renovators should've just not have a row A, can't fully experience the film. Slightly distorted screening from that level. I should've waited for a better day to buy better seats. When it's full house and some rows didn't work, difficult to enjoy the experience fully. Not my first 4dx rodeo. I still enjoyed myself despite getting beat up with the film characters. The pyro effects were brilliant on cue. With water sprinkled on your face and smoke blown around you. Vibrating seats that back bunch you with rough scenes. Definitely don't eat popcorn while riding. Be prepared to book a massage the next day to recover. I'd still return for more 4dx films. Wouldn't recommend long films, just the average immersive action movies. This location can be really busy but moves fast with concession. Clean and multiple levels with restrooms on each level. The concessions have decent American food options and churros. I'm so impressed that such a HUGE movie theater exists in the middle of New York. Honestly, this gives me hope that Costco can also exist in the middle of New York too but maybe that's a pipe dream. Came to watch a replay of Spirited Away and it was such a unique experience. Here are some of my observations: - We were supposed to be in Theater 20, and so we rode on like 5 different escalators before we reached the tip top floor. - The seats were kind of jank as they were a bit flimsy and reminded me that of an old train or Greyhound that hasn't been cleaned for awhile. - I'm surprised that they didn't have a lot of advertisements and trailers playing before the movie as the movie started 5 minutes after it was supposed to start. - I appreciate how many different movies, new and reruns, that the theater plays. Overall, not a bad place to watch a movie in NYC especially if you're looking for old shows to enjoy! read more
