This is mainly about IMAX Auditorium 13 September 2026 The Odyssey in IMAX 70MM Did you know that AMC Lincoln Square 13 houses the largest IMAX screen in the United States? The screen is massive at 101' wide, allowing no cropping or editing of a film and delivering sharp visuals to a 70mm movie. The seats in this auditorium are plush, wider than most, purposefully with no recline for audiences to view the screen upright. I also noticed a direct line of sight to the screen, with no audience members blocking your view. Ultimate viewing. Accompanying this 101' wide screen is an impressive audio system. This is the part that appealed to me the most. I've always appreciated a grand, bass filled audio system that surrounds you. During this show, I noticed no out of tune, high-pitched sound distortions. The sound system's audio and accompanying music to me, were flawless throughout. The audio's dynamic bass speakers, in sync with the other immersive speakers, at moments give you a literal thunderous tremble throughout your entire body...love it!! Before this movie was even over, I knew it was worth coming back here, specifically for an action filled IMAX 70mm blockbuster. Being familiar with the Greek myths helped me enjoy this entire viewing experience more. If you have the opportunity, I feel it's worth it to see The Odyssey in the format created by the director. SIDE THOUGHT: AMC's Auditorium 13 capacity is 400+ With that, there's only one women's restroom on the 4th floor, which only has 5 stalls. Five stalls for let's say 15%-20% of the audience needing the restroom at the end of a show. Pack your patience. My thoughts. During the architecture of large-scale buildings, designated space should be carved out to accommodate more than 5 stalls. Understood that this is an older building, but it has to be stated that this constant ridiculousness of minimal stalls seen in the majority of large buildings, needs to change going forward. Reclining seats make all the difference. When they work that is. It's been a minute since I've been here. They've remodeled the theaters since. I was going to say the seats are in better condition than the AMC 84th but one of our seats didn't recline. They have beer now... so there's that. After the movie we got to talking with one of the security guards and he was telling us stories about the Odyssey 70mm IMAX showings. The demand was so crazy people were standing along the wall, sitting in wheelchair spots, and bringing beach chairs. As soon as the guard mentioned it, some dude was going up the escalator with two big ass beach chairs. Not even the type that fold into a carrying bag. The guard was very enlightening. He talked about the different clientele and culture between theaters. The Bay Plaza AMC will definitely not allow outside food. The Lincoln Square 13 doesn't care. And there's an AMC I think out on the Island that will hold the food for you so you don't have to throw it away. On our way out we mentioned to him that our seat didn't recline and he suggested we tell the person at the box office and that we could get a voucher for another showing. We went over to the box office and told the guy Theater 1 Seat F15 didn't work. He didn't notate it anywhere and went right back to his phone. So no voucher for us! These tickets are not cheap. The least we should expect are working seats. read more

The only real 70MM IMAX in the area...the picture and sound life up to the hype. A 3-4 minute walk from the subway (you can see it as soon as you exit) I've seen 5 movies here and each has been a treat. Foo prices typical for a theater. The AMC theater is beautiful. I love the imax theater and all it has to offer. Being a Stubbs member really pays off. The services was quick and easy. Our theater was jammed packed. The pretzel was gigantic, the foot long was D'licious. I sipped a little soda, I forgot my water in the car. I haven't had soda in over a decade, I drink flavored seltzer as my soda. The movie Michael. It was just alright. If you're a big MJ fan you know what I mean. The very first song by Lil MJ, horrible. The acts, horrible. For the price of a ticket these days I expect clean comfortable accommodations. I get it here. It wasn't freezing or too hot. Movie was good but could have cut about 15-20 minutes. This location is actually one of the largest AMCs in the city. I must say that it is much cleaner than Times Squares Empire 25(no offense to that theater). I never eat movie theater food as it is so overpriced, but there is always a waft of fresh popcorn being made in the popcorn machines. The service here is pretty fast. The box office attendants are on top of things. One of the reasons I attend this theater more than others is the fact that they have so many early screenings. Today, I saw the 3D Billie Eilish Concert in Aud 5. The 3D experience was alright, I'm a bigger fan of IMAX auditoriums. read more

It's been a long time but we returned to AMC LS13 for The Odyssey. Loved it, it's a big theater and I needed help. I asked an employee, Angelo a member of the custodial crew, who helped us get to our assigned theater. Excellent Angelo, your good manners and demeanor make me think you will be moving up soon. The theater was cleaned and everyone at their post and approachable. It was really good with the Lincoln Center atmosphere. read more

My favorite AMC location! It's so big and beautiful, and I love the themed theaters inside. They frequently have cool interactive popups for films and you can sometimes see mini exhibits with real Costumes and props. My favorite popup so far was the Black Phone 2 one -- so immersive!! The IMAX screen here is the BIGGEST I've ever seen. It's hard to get tickets though, especially for any 70mm IMAX films. You have to book as early as you can. I wish they had the reclining chairs though. read more

I went today to the movies and the theatre was soooooo hot! In the middle of the movie everyone started to complain about it. My friends and I were sweating and about to leave. We didn't enjoy the movie at all. It was such a good movie and that is why we stayed. At the end, in the bathroom I heard several people complaining about that as well. I recently visited AMC Lincoln Square with my son, who insisted that we all go see Michael, at this movie theater and the whole experience turned into something really special, largely thanks to the theater itself. Thank you to my son! First off, this location is massive and impressively well kept. From the moment you walk in, there's a kind of buzz that makes it feel like more than just a movie theater, wow it feels like an exciting experience. The lobby is spacious and clean, with plenty of kiosks to keep lines moving quickly, even when it's busy. The staff were friendly and efficient, which made everything easy from the start. We watched the film in one of their premium auditoriums, and that's where AMC Lincoln Square really stands out. The screen was enormous, the sound system was crisp and immersive, and the seating was extremely comfortable with plenty of leg room and great sightlines all around. It's the kind of setup that lets you fully sink into the movie without distractions. As for Michael, it felt less like a warts and all documentary and more like a musical celebration of an icon. The film leans into the legacy and artistry, leaving audiences feeling satisfied and entertained, though it may leave those looking for a deeper or more critical exploration of the tougher parts of the story wanting more. Still, seeing it in such a high quality theater really elevated the experience and played to the film's strengths. And I have to mention the snacks that I had which was the pretzel which was enormous and surprisingly delicious! Honestly, it was so big I couldn't even finish it (which never happens), but it was a perfect movie treat and definitely worth trying. Best AMC in the city. I'm absolutely obsessed with this place. It's huge and it's themed and there's something to look at everywhere. The staff is quick and accurate with food and drink orders. The best part, though, is the amazing IMAX screen. If you live in New York and haven't seen a movie in IMAX at this specific location, you're missing out in a serious way. impossible to purchase tickets from this theater because AMC refuses to enforce its terms and conditions, which prohibit resales above purchase price. Odyssey 70mm IMAX showings have empty seats despite it being impossible for actual moviegoers to buy tickets. Tickets to these showings are going for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Lincoln Square and AMC must enforce their terms and conditions and CANCEL those tickets without offering refunds to the scalpers. read more

Every time you're graded, it's so nice. The guy who scanned her tickets is always so happy to see you. There's never too long of a line so it's really great. You have lots of choices of seats, which is really cool. The ambience is fun, exciting family oriented and every time I'm there I always get the chicken nuggets which is really good the food and the popcorn and the juice the five dollar special makes going to the movies Awesome. read more

I don't understand why the overall ratings are only a 3.5. This is a well-kept theater with beautiful interior design (for a modern theater) and most recently, new rocker seats with more legroom in all auditoriums except for the Dolby, which has lounge seating, and the IMAX. The Dolby auditorium is the best Dolby Vision/Atmos auditorium in NYC. The IMAX is a true IMAX that supports both 70mm/15 perf IMAX film presentation and the highest level of digital laser IMAX: "Grand Theatre IMAX" with dual laser 4K imagery on a 101' wide screen and 11.1 channel DTS digital audio. Auditorium #2 (The Kings) supports 70mm 5-perf film projection. With the Ziegfeld long closed, this is the theater where most industry premieres now take place and IMO, is the best non-arthouse theater left in NYC. They also frequently have nice displays in the lobby areas, for example, one might display fashions from a film. "A Quiet Place" had a subway station entrance and "Twisters" had a "wind tunnel". While individual tickets are expensive, their A-List membership greatly reduces the cost for people who see at least two movies a month. Plus you build up points for free concessions. I did once get really horrible popcorn (for free), but I don't really care because it's quite rare that I ever buy any concessions. And when I attend, which is frequently during the day because I happen to have a lot of free time, the audiences are fine - no rudeness, no phone use during the movie, etc. However, some percentage are indeed slobs who leave their food and drinks all over the place. But that's not the fault of the theater. And when I exit a movie, there's always staff already there ready to clean up. And I've always found the bathrooms to be clean. read more

When you walk into the theater, it is magical. The murals the box office . All of it! The aesthetics are beautiful. The theater is close to Subway line N 1-2-3 , right down the block. Not every theater has the recliners so you select your ticket you'd be able to tell which movie has the recliners on the AMC app. Pleasant employees work here as well. I get how much people love imax, I also understand the superior quality of picture and sound. With that said, I was in the 5th row and it still felt too close. The screen is blinding. And the fact that the seats are in one continuous row for like 40+ seats. I do not like it, very inconvenient for Bathroom or concession runs. This is a such a great and fun AMC Theater to see a movie. Its a huge complex spanning many floors with 13 rooms of varying sizes. The main draw is the IMAX which is at the top and biggest IMAX screen in the US. They have their own concession stand and bathrooms. I saw a movie here once and couldn't get over how huge the screen was. Definitly worth the trip to see something here at least once. Best to sit further back and as close to the center as you can possibly get. Another great room is the Dolby which has two floors in it. It's well spaced out and you can get in and out of the rows pretty easily. Best not to sit under the overhang if you want the best sound experience I've found, so dont sit any further back then rows F/G. The rest of the rooms are all nice as well. The whole space is themed to the Golden Age of movies. The rooms in the lower level were added a few years after the place opened and are on the smaller side. Little indie films always seem to be down there or something thats been out for a long time. Plenty of restrooms and the main concessions line moves pretty fast. They recently updated some, maybe all (?) the rooms with new chairs although they don't recline. I saw Wicked 2 weeks ago in Dobly and it was the old recliners but saw Babygirl yesterday in room 3 and it was the new chairs. Sound was awesome by the way in room 3. Not sure if they renovated the sound as well. My friend pointed out the floors are now faux hard wood as opposed to tile and he felt the sound is reflecting better due to this change. Bathrooms are a little old and could use a renovation. They often have movie premieres here, and costumes from current films are always on display! read more

This is THE IMAX, best theater in NYC. The other IMAX screens are the 'LieMAX' screens. 4D? RPX? No sir - make the trip to 1998 Broadway and take the stairway to the top. I would watch paint dry on this huge screen. Is it costly? Yes. Are you subjected to ads and 20 min of trailers ? Yes. The downstairs theaters already felt way less glamorous, but with the escalator out of order there was a Cinema Village vibe at a higher price point. I can't speak to all the particulars of the AMC "Laser" experience but the audio quality was certainly first-rate for the important concert moments in Spinal Tap II : The End Continues. read more

I kind of bummed to come all the way out here twice and find out the big screen they're known for wasn't running both times. On top of that there were no reclining chairs:'( It definitely took away from the experience I was hoping for. That said, the workers here are genuinely so nice and fun. It's honestly refreshing to see staff who seem like they actually enjoy where they work, it makes a huge difference in the vibe. The theater itself has really cool décor and a unique, elevated feel, definitely more stylish than the average AMC. The seats are comfortable, there are no obstructions from viewers in front of you, and the sound system is outstanding. The ambiance of the theatre is wonderful. The entrance to all of the movies have different artwork. It feels like stepping back into time. The theater is clean. The biggest and best IMAX screen in the country is at AMC Lincoln Square - it's also one of the biggest IMAX screens in the world. This cinema often has special screenings and advanced releases before the rest of the nation. Sometimes they have screenings followed by in-person Q&A with the cast and filmmakers. I've experienced numerous celebrity sightings here. Because of all this, the AMC Lincoln Square is one of my favorite cinemas. The only negative about this theater is most screens don't have stadium seating, which is standard these days. Those auditoriums need some serious updating - but that's not a problem on the IMAX screen. Overall this place is very well run. I've always had a good time and never had a problem with the quality of service. read more

I went to see the Barbie movie with my friend and we had a great time. We went upstairs, scanned our tickets, and purchased candy and drinks. My friend bought popcorn and a drink, I bought Twizzlers and a drink. We got our seats and they were comfortable. The theater was clean, and it was easy to find our seats. The employees behind the concessions stand and scanning tickets were super nice. The bathrooms were also clean with plenty of open and available stalls. The only thing that I really didn't like about the experience was the teenager with his friends sitting a few rows behind us who kept yelling at the screen like your obnoxious uncle watching football on Thanksgiving. It didn't matter how many times people told him to be quiet. He refused. Of course, that is at no fault of the theater so that doesn't affect the number of stars that I'm giving the business. I just wish there was a way to handle the situation without confrontation. The movie was great, and I'm glad that I saw it again. My movie experiences have been great ever since AMC upgraded their seats and concession stands. I would be happy to come back again the next time there's an exciting movie out. read more
