I ws on a trip from Detroit to Baltimore with stop in Pittsburgh. My ABS light and traction control were on. Homer said I could bring it in for a scan, which I did. Despite having more cars to service than I'd ever seen at a repair shop, he checked me out right away. Fortunately, he said my car was ok to drive until I returned home. I remember a time pre-Regal when this theater was United Artists only and honestly, when I came here earlier this week for the first time since UA-only days, I realized basically nothing has changed in this theater since then. It's outdated, on the verge of being classified as "run down," and it honestly really surprised me. I know Regal to be a nationwide chain of decent theaters, but it appears that they have put no effort into this theater in Commerce Township. With Twelve Oaks/West Oaks just down the road from here with the spectacular Emagine Novi, there is really nothing Regal UA offers these days over that, other than this very one-off case of a showing of a movie that no other theater in my area was showing. As an avid movie goer, this theater was a disappointment for sure. In addition to it just being old, outdated, and sad, it should come as no surprise that their seats are more of the same. Rockers, rather than recliners in this day and age is an automatic -1 star on the review. Couple that with the lack of a halfway decent sound system as well and I had no choice but to give it an additional -1 star. I literally felt my ears STRAINING towards the front of the theater where the only sound was coming from. It was very noticeably poor quality, let alone lacking that surround sound. Sad that this is the experience nowadays at Regal UA Commerce Township. I hate to say it, but I might be choosing an AMC theater, which I avoid at all costs typically, over this the next time I'm watching a limited release movie because it was truly just not worth it for me coming all the way here for a more than subpar movie-going experience. :( Hope Regal updates this theater SOON! read more

This is my 2nd time coming to this movie theater and now I see why. I had a gift card I received 2 years ago, so I decided to use it finally and bring my kids to a movie. I really wish I would have just tossed the card and paid to go to Emagine. Almost $40 for 3 drinks and a popcorn that can only be refilled until 8pm (Only the large popcorn is refillable) when the concession stand closes. THE MOVIE DOESNT EVEN START UNTIL 7:30pm. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How does the concession stand close 30 minutes into a movie? Made them change my drinks to small instead of large, really only a couple dollar difference which is insane! The popcorn tastes like it's 4 months old and is covered in salt. GROSS! Also drink your drinks slow kids because your $8 fountain drink is not refillable, what a joke. Let me end it with the speakers sound like crap. Definitely not ever going to come back here. read more

Easy to maneuver, really good for those who want a short walk from the car to the parking lot. No real thrills , just a clean, low key theater that is safe and clean. The theater shows most major movies, so I go here a lot because Incan always find what I want to see. Good date night location. read more

The show was supposed to start at 11:30. We got there at 11:20 but I checked my watch at 12:00 and they were still running ads and previews. I bought tickets to see a film, not sit thru 40 minutes of ads. The people who walked in 30 minutes late were the smart ones! Plus it was freezing cold in the theater. Not sure where to start with this review. UA was all the rage when I was in high school ... which was ten years ago (oy, I'm getting old). We went there today, ONLY because we had Fandango bucks to spend, to see Big Eyes. First off, UA counts itself among the theaters where matinee pricing ends at 4pm ... which I dislike. At 4pm, if I can go see a matinee at Emagine Novi for $6 vs. pay $10.25 for a UA ticket, I will do that. However, I will say that their Senior tickets are a good deal - $7.50 for a night movie. That being said, about 90% of our theater was older people. We went to see Big Eyes today, which was a good movie. I had no problem w/ UA's screen or seats, although the sound seemed rather soft. The theater itself is fine, it just seems like they haven't renovated in a while. I've heard the popcorn/concessions prices are high but didn't really look when there. I remember back in the day their rewards program was very good, I was getting free popcorn every other time or so, but I don't think it's as good now. On Tuesdays they used to do $5 movies all day but now it's $6.50 - so you only save $1 on matinees, I believe, but you'd save a few dollars at night, which is a good deal. I'd come back here again if I didn't want to drive to Livonia to use the Fandango money I have, but overall it's just an "eh" theater. Between Emagine and the Maple, I predict this one closes in 5+ years. read more

This theater is pretty small compared to some of the other theater's in the area, it's a pretty convenient location. The concession stand seems to quickly get overwhelmed leading to long lines but we were lucky with the timing when we went. They have a decent variety of things that you can order. Their butter popcorn was pretty dull with little flavor. We like getting a frozen drink with coke and cherry but the cherry machine was broken during this visit. The seats were comfortable and they of course have the usual cup holder etc that you get everywhere else. No obstructed views and enough room for people to walk pass you. The restrooms were not kept clean and were pretty disgusting. You probably want to avoid using their restrooms if you can unless they start cleaning them more frequently. We had a pretty decent movie experience but I think they lack far behind in the enteratinment experience you get at Emagine for example. read more

Older theater, needs major updating. I really don't think they are doing very well. The seats are worn and not very comfortable. The last time I came for a movie, the theater was boiling hot. We had to leave 4 times during our movie to ask them to shut the heat off. Thought I was going to pass out. It ruined the movie experience and we asked for a refund after the show. I almost feel bad for this place because you just get the impression they are hurting for biz. The manager was nice enough to refund us. I feel bad leaving a 2 star but I have to be honest about my experience here. read more

This is your typical neighborhood movie theater. It isn't cheap but it is convenient. If you drive 15 miles and plan 2 weeks ahead of time to see a show here you may be bummed. In this modern era of lay back seats and more to eat than not the freshest popcorn you may be disappointed. The concession line is painfully slow. I've seen 3 people back there working to fill one order while 10 customers wait in line. I always assume it is just hard to find decent help to work the candy counter. This theater is rarely sold out even for big opening weekends which makes it a good choice if you don't like cramped theaters. The employees are always clean and presentable, the bathrooms are usually reasonably clean. I know what I am getting when I go here. I value consistency and that is why I am going with the 4/stars. read more

We've been here a few times, we came here first to see a special movie (some old one my husband wanted to see) and they couldn't get the movie to play. Sad, but they gave the two of us FOUR free passes to see another movie. We waited to see Rogue One until it wasn't a special anymore and plan to see Beauty and the Beast. This location is always really quiet and I don't mind that. however, the place is a little run down. One of the theatres smelled a little, and the previews were almost 25 minutes long. Don't subject yourself to this theater. Drive 10 extra minutes and go to the Livonia AMC 20 or Emagine instead. This is the theater closest to my house and started going here since the day it opened. The first couple years were really great. It was one of the first stadium-seating theaters in the area and it was well managed. Starting in about 2001 or 2002 it really went downhill. Suddenly it because overrun with jr high/high school kids that were obnoxious and they took over the theater. Their parents would just drop them at the door and leave them for hours to hang around and be annoying. That was just the beginning, though. In recent years EVERY time I've gone there there has been something wrong with the actual movie itself. The sound was too quiet, the picture had focus problems, or (more than once) the movie just flat out stopped and we had to leave. Don't be fooled by how the theater looks (ie. fairly new). It's so far below you other local options that it's a crime to give them your hard earned money. read more

I haven't gone here in a couple of years. It's good enough, but not much to draw you back, except that you have a better chance of getting a ticket. Not a fan of sitting and watching 5 minutes of commercials before you even get to the previews, but I don't think that's the industry. This place is a decent theatre to scope out the latest flicks. Like all theatres, watch out for the overpriced concession stand, but tickets are reasonably priced and the surrounding atmosphere is welcoming and comforting. Extra score here for allowing people 21 and up to purchase as many tickets as they want for an R rated movie. Now I know where to take all the high-school chicks... Seriously though, I also like that they have a reminder before you enter the screening room to silence your cell phones - as well as a posting telling you not to text. Nice touch, 'cause I hate being distracted by those blinding white screens that pop open in the middle of an intense action scene. Matinee prices, at press time, are $7 a pop which is an alright deal if you ask me. Cheap movie tickets and they look out for you with people on the cell phones and texting. Word 'em up! If I'm around the Walled Lake area and I just HAVE to see a flick... then I wouldn't rule this place out. read more

Yeah, I really only went here when I couldn't find a better show time at one of the other five theaters close to my house and that includes Star Southfield. At least at Star Southfield they have a Tubby's you can bring into the theatre... More then once I went there for a movie and the power was out, yet every other place around them had power, also the staff seems a bit grumpy but maybe that's because they always seemed like they were understaffed and there's some highschooler in a suit bossing everyone around infront of customers. Watching movies here is terrible. The ticket prices are outrageous and the workers couldn't be any more rude. The concession prices are more than outrageous, $5 for a small icee and the popcorn is nasty. The actual theater itself is very small and the sound is always so quiet. The projectors aren't even digital and you can hear the projector click more than the movie's sound. Overall just a terrible movie experience and going to MJR or Emagine is going to be much more worth it. read more

I previously gave this theater 4 stars but after visiting a different brand new theater across the state I realize that this is not a 4 star theater any longer. I see this now as a "value theater", meaning you'll go when you want to see a movie but you're not going for the grand experience of newer theaters these days. Some of the seats around me did seem dirty. There is leg room but the seats themselves are very shallow and do not support long legs. Went to see Jumanji this evening, the theatres was absolutely disgusting, advised the manager who sent someone to clean it up, with great enthusiasm NOT. The film was great by the way but we had about 8-10 teenagers who talked and were on their phones all the way through the movie. Again advised the manager who stood there with no comment and no interaction abilities what so ever. It was an assistant who advised me that there was NOTHING they could do!!! I use to come here a lot years ago. After moving back to the area I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd go see Dead Pool in theater 1.... The movie was good along with the friendliness of the staff, but the awefulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll smell in the theater completely ruined the experience. It wasn't a smell of popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, candy etc. that one would expect from a movie going experience. It smelled like the theater has not been well maintained or thoroughly cleaned in ages. Standard movie theater. My husband and I usually try to go at random times so it's not super busy, but we went to a 7:30 show on a Saturday last night and it still wasn't all that bad. nice! The main thing I like about this theater is that they put the butter on the popcorn for you (including in the middle!). Maybe that's dumb, but I HATE AMC where they give you corn that's been sitting on a shelf all day then you have to magically figure out how to get some of the butter-like substance throughout the bag. This theater is small. The concession lines took forever to get though. When we got to the front, the manager greeted us, then literally said to me: "hold on" to turn and answer an employee's question. He took my order for candy, took my money, then told me to have a good night. He forgot to give me me candy! We went for the Doctor Who movie. It was one of the only places showing it. The theatre itself was small. The seats were reasonably sized. The arm rests didn't go up. My husband and I like putting them up between us at MJR. The atmosphere seemed clean enough. I first started going to movies herein the late 90s when it opened.. at the time it was a big deal... but as they say.. technology becomes outdated quickly. The theatre feels no better than it did in the 90s.. It's expensive, poor quality popcorn... Was there yesterday for a 12:10 showing and was served up a nice big expensive bag of STALE popcorn! This theater need renovation. The seats are so closed to each other. If a tall guy sit in front of you it can easily block your view. I wish they put up reclining seats and give more space between seats just like MJR Waterford theater. Ugh, I hate to give this place one star, but it is in really bad shape. I remember when this place opened up, it was THE PLACE to be on a Friday or Saturday night. It would be absolutely packed. Now it is a total ghost town. I understand that people are going to the movies less and less, but this place isn't even putting in an effort to bring people in anymore. Everything looks run down. The carpet needs a serious cleaning, the theaters need new seats. This past Thursday I was there, sat in a seat and felt like I was going to hit the floor. I am only 5'4" and don't weigh that much. That shouldn't be happening. The bathrooms are even worse. There are sinks without foists, the floor is just coated in soda stickiness. There was no one at the theater, there is absolutely no excuse for is to be this messy. We only went here because they offered the movie we wanted to see at a convenient time. I do not see me going here for any other reason than I need to see a certain movie at a certain time. Please UA get your act together! read more

How are they still in business? Out of shear desperation, I saw a movie here after swearing off this place years ago. Nobody was at the ticket booth (Monday 6pm), so I had to buy tickets at the concession stand. Not a problem if you don't mind the person taking your cash, then getting your popcorn and cups with UNgloved hands. Seats do not recline (and barely lean back), and seating is general admission. Decor is outdated and looks and feels dirty. (Chocolate on my seat.) Divider walls in bathrooms are rusting and one urinal was covered with a garbage bag. Sound system is nothing special which was mediocre and disappointing since I was seeing Ford vs Ferrari which won best sound editing. Popcorn was expensive and free refills only on large, not mediums. A regular size bottle of Dansani sells for $5.40. No issues with the projection of the movie. Overall: go to Emagine Novi for an amazing Movie-going experience for the same price or less. read more

Eh, I believe this theater to be mediocre. I wasn't really ever impressed with the service, selection of movies, or anything at this theater. It's very messy. Depending on where you're at, I would say it's worth taking the drive to the Emagine Theater in Novi, though it's a little bit more expensive, but the whole experience is much MUCH better as a whole. This is our local movie theatre & we go almost every week, yeah nothing special, your normally cookie cutter mega plex, but we have the regal club card & free Movie tickets, free popcorn every few weeks is enough to earn our business. Emagine in Novi is better also matinee tickets her are $7 vs $5 at Emagine so perhaps its time for a change ??????????? read more

Theatre seating is run down and are 1990 style plastic and worn out cushion fabric. First run screens are ok but if it's not the number one film, you are in lawn chairs basically. Tickets for normal seats are 10.50. Food also overpriced for the venue and quality, even movie theater standards. Drive the extra 15 mins to Farmington and hit the riviera instead. read more

What a dump! From the mismatched logos from other theaters on the front trash cans, to the smell of urine in the theater, to the narrow seats with fixed armrests, to the flicker of a projector with a nearly-dead illumination system, this was by far the worst movie-going experience I've had. The Saturday matinee prices seemed steep at $7.75, when the normal ticket price at theaters like Emagine are only a couple bucks more (or less for matinee tickets), and I noticed immediately that we were the only people around who weren't able to collect Social Security. That's not to say there's anything inherently bad about older patrons (two separate cries of "I can't see where I'm going!" notwithstanding) but I suspect that's why the heat was cranked up to what seemed like a hundred degrees. My guess is that's also how this theater has skated by on a projector desperately in need of maintenance, to those with good vision. I could get charging a premium if the theater was really nice, or if it was in a nice location, but it's run down, and it's in the middle of nowhere, with a Costco and Home Depot as the nearest places to go afterwards. I'd have complained to the manager, if I thought it would accomplish anything other than getting a couple of free passes. Thing is, I wouldn't come back for free. read more
