Emagine Canton used to be such a great theatre. It has gone downhill in every aspect. The line for snacks is always extremely long and the line for the bar is even worse (since there's usually 1 person managing it-even on a Friday!). They have security there but they don't actually enforce any rules at all. When in line at the bar, there were 2 people getting served their drinks. Out of no where, 5 other people joined them at the register, who also placed drink orders, and nothing was said to them, they were just allowed to skip the line. So much for everyone who had patiently waited in line (personally I had already waited 15 minutes). Once I finally did get up to the bar, the drink I got tastes of straight liquor, could not even choke it down. Which stinks since the drink was 23$. Do yourself a favor and save your money, or go to a different Emagine location. read more

Popcorn, drinks, slushies, all thumbs up. Prices competitive with other theaters in the area, but we come on $5 Tuesday because? Free small popcorn and a $5 show anytime of day! The thumbs down is when I witness the employee check through people's items that they bring into the theater. They check blankets, bags, purses, jackets anything they think is suspicious that they think you're bringing food into the theater and not going to pay their lousy, expensive prices. Maybe take that as a sign that your price gouging customers and we're tired of that, Emagine? The other night I saw one lady employee demand the mother and father and their two toddlers go back to their car and put away their sippy cups and come back inside. The last time I wrote a review for this location my cousin was turning 4 and we were coming here to celebrate her birthday. She just turned 17 last month (sob) so I guess it's time for an update! I actually hadn't been to this location in a while. Before moving to Ann Arbor in 2012 it was my go-to location but since we've switched to going to the Saline location. However, tonight I met a friend for a screening of The Great Muppet Caper (love the throwback cinema they host, btw) here and forgot how much I like this spot. First, it's huge! When my husband and I walked in with both remarked, "I forgot how big this place was!" 18 screens big. Many of them, like the theatre we saw our film in tonight, are on the smaller side, but they do still have quite a few large theatres for new releases. Since the last time we were here they did roll out their food menu which is nice to have as an option when coming to movie. Today was one of those days so we ordered up some chicken fingers and fries and they brought them right to our seat. They were both right out of the fryer and HOT. But good. The chicken serving size in particular is quite generous, with 6 good sized tenders. Plus fries for about $13 which is a pretty good deal, especially for movie concessions! Speaking of, we also got some popcorn and a soda and the popcorn was perfectly popped and seasoned. Our theatre was clean and comfortable for the film. After the movie we hung out with our friends in the lobby for a bit catching up and the couches and seating areas were super comfortable for this. They also have a bar if you want a more formal/fancier hang or an adult beverage to take into the theatre. My friend's daughter came with us and she was perfectly entertained by all the claw machines and arcade games in the lobby while we gabbed. Over all, this location has held up remarkably well since my last 5 star review 13 years ago, and perhaps has even improved given the added food options. read more

I've been slacking this year and neglecting the local movie theatre's, apologies! The retirement plan was on the must see movie list today. What a Great movie What's even better was the popcorn and slushy combo, Yummy. The theatre has the large recliners with heated seats. Everything about Imagine theatre makes me happy. Great service at the ticket counter, concession stand and yes the bar area. I've got a family and friends get together next month and we're watching a Holiday Classic. The event coordinator did an amazing job working with us to make sure it's a memorable event for all. The Imagine Canton theatre is the place I go when I want it done right every time. This was my first time going to a movie theatre in over four years. I finally used a Fandango gift card given to me in 2019 to reserve seats to see Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. The workers were friendly and getting in with reserved tickets on the Fandango app was a breeze. The seating area felt more spaced out and not cramped like so many theatres I've been to in the past. The theatre is clean and the heated reclining seats are everything! The reclining seats are large and comfortable and it feels so much better being able to elevate my legs and recline my seat back. I got a bit cold with the A/C and having a heated seat made my movie-watching experience so cozy, like watching a movie from home. Everything exceeded my expectations. I plan to seek out Emagine locations when I want to see a movie at the theatre and will be returning to the Canton location soon to watch more movies! read more

Seats were extremely comfortable compared to other theaters and overall a good experiance

Have not been here in several months. I generally don't go out to watch a movie in theaters unless it's something I can't wait to arrive on streaming services. Even when I used to live in Dearborn we would drive to Emagine Canton as it was superior to any theater we had close to us at the time. It's a nice clean theater, and they made plenty of renovations to the seats to make them more spacious and comfortable which I appreciate. Overall I can't get over the cost of tickets and food. This isn't something that's unique to Emagine, but a general statement about movie theaters. Still I probably wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Emagine movie theater has a large parking lot outside of the business and several theaters inside. You are able to purchase items such as snacks, slurpees and food items such as pizza at the theater. You can get free refills with your slurpee purchase. If you join the rewards program you can get movie tickets for $5 on Tuesdays and free popcorn. Inside of the theater there are recliner seats that are heated. The theater appeared to be clean. The sound was great inside of the theater and there was space in between the rows for people to pass by without you having to move. You can also order food to be brought to your seat during the movie. read more

8 years later and I should probably update my review for this theater. I went here today to see Penguins in their EMAX theater. The last time I came to this theater was about four or five years ago, and they've definitely updated it since then. The layout is almost exactly the same as Emagine Novi's, with a few small changes. The recliners are the same ones that Emagine Royal Oak have, and they are very, very nice. FYI if you try to use the promo code for popcorn from the Oakland County Moms' website, they will not accept it here - seems like only certain Emagines will. I had a very pleasant experience here today otherwise and the seats were a little too comfortable, I definitely fell asleep for about 10 to 15 minutes during the movie LOL. The prices are extremely reasonable too, $5 for a matinee or $7 for an EMAX matinee, which is what my parents and I did. I would come back here again if I was in the area and wanting to see a movie. read more

I hate going to the movies. Let me say that again. I really hate going to the movies. I will wait til its on the redbox unless it's a transformer type movie. But I go cause my babe loves it. I don't know why he wants to freeze but it is what it is. This spot here is the bomb. Most expensive show is $7. Got me at the price. U know how much it cost to go to movies anymore???? Got a full bar, multiple options for seating, and popcorn options. What is Ohio thinking not having one of these? came in to see a movie with family. told to shake out our blankets which was fine however i was then told i had to open my purse so she could search it. never been ever told to open my purse and have it search before seeing a movie any of the hundreds of times i came here. i had absolutely nothing in my purse however i sid no i would put it in the car as i was not going to have a stranger search my purse. once returning from putting my purse in the car, the enployee then stared and looked us up and down, turning her head and body to watch us walk by her as if we somehow were sneaking something in. Additionally while standing in the lobby and in the concession line, i watched several other women with purses both the same size and smaller walk in and past the woman checking tickets without her asking to check their bags. I did not appreciate being singled out by the enployee and being made to seem like i was doing something wrong by bring in my purse to hold my personal items in. super unprofessional and definitely off putting. read more

Emagine Canton is our favorite theater for so many reasons. Most importantly we love the big reclining chairs with foot rests. We can't imagine sitting in a theater without reclining now that we've been spoiled. We also love that we can buy our tickets online ahead of time for a small fee of $1 a ticket. We always go to matinees which are $5 (total of $6 with the fee). Can't beat that deal! With the online tickets there's no need to wait in line at the theater. In fact, most the time we don't even need to show our tickets because of assigned seating. If we do, it's at the theater door. The popcorn is fresh and yummy! Hubby and I usually share a large popcorn and large pop, which includes free refills. The service at concessions is pretty quick. We love Emagine Canton. read more

Early movies are $5. The theater was clean. They have heated recliners and also couch seating right in front of the screen. Idk about you, but it's been a minute since I've been in a movie theater. They now have blankets for sale, which is a great idea. It's summer, so people may not be dressed for theater weather. The blanket is a nice touch, if needed. We have started using Emagine Canton more since they offer rewards and better prices than most places for snacks. Ordering tickets online is a breeze on Atom or through them. We like the option of picking our seats ahead of time! Heated seats, reclining seats, delicious snacks, terrific sound & picture, and friendly staff are all pluses here. Everything is pretty clean including the bathrooms. I am not sure why there is no one to check your ticket when you come in if you've already purchased tickets though. On busy nights/days they have someone standing outside each theater at the beginning of the movie to make sure you are in the correct theater, but if it's a slower day you can literally just walk right in and go to a theater. We don't mind, but it seems odd. Either way we really like Emagine & we will continue to use them for movies in 2020. read more

Honestly, this is my very favorite theater in the metro Detroit area. Let's start with the ticket process. You can prepurchase tickets at home through an app before you even arrive. Or if you're more the do it in person type, you can always grab your tickets when you walk in usually without much of a 5 minute wait. Seats are assigned so there is no ticket taking, tearing the stub handed it back process here. They always have all of the latest features playing at tons of convenient times. If you catch a movie before a certain time, you'll get the matinee price of only $5. They also have special pricing for seniors and veterans. And there a rewards club that allows you to gather points with every movie and food purchase. Once you've reached a certain threshold you can earn free movies and free snacks at the concession stands! Next there is the lobby complete with walls lined with posters of current and upcoming features, comfy seating areas, arcade games, a piano that plays by itself and a cocktail bar. The concession stand is in the center and carries all the traditional movie theater faves like popcorn and candy, but also has flatbreads, cheese curds and chicken strips that can be delivered right to your movie theater seat after you've placed your order at the counter. I swear there are hundreds of drink options available in the self serve the beverage machine (Can you say free refills?!). Then there is the actual theater experience. There are huge screens with dolby sound and stadium seating. Not just any old seating, but luxury black leather power recliners that make you feel like you are at home. You can even rent one of the theaters out for special events. My family and I visit here often and we always have a great time. read more

It's easy to order tickets online, and choose your seats when you pay. Concession lines generally move at a decent pace, and the popcorn is fresh and delicious. My kids always want to come here because slushies and soda are the same price, and there are free refills. My husband and I try to avoid this place for two reasons. First, we find the La-Z-Boy style reclining seats uncomfortable. Secondly, since the installation of these over-sized seats, there are substantially fewer seats in each auditorium, making it necessary to order tickets in advance, and paying a service fee in addition to their already high ticket prices. If you don't pay ahead, expect the movie you want to see to be sold out, or plan for each member of your party to sit separately. Or, you may end up sitting in the front row, which is closer to the screen than most theaters, which I find annoying. To me, the negative outweighs the positive, and we always try Canton Cinema, aka Canton 7 GDX, first. We end up here when there isn't a convenient showtime elsewhere for the movie we want to see, or our kids beg so they can refill their slushies. read more

I moved to canton two years ago, and our house is right by the Goodrich theater, so we always went there because it was cheaper, had better popcorn and was less crowded. Since they closed, we have now been coming to Emagine. I like their rewards program and free popcorn on Tuesday. I also love the heated seats and the fact that you can recline them. My only complaint is that if you go at night any day except Tuesday in my opinion, it gets a little pricey. With that said, we love going to the movies, and we will continue to come to this theater. read more

Emagine Theaters is the best movie theater chain in Michigan and the Midwest! It, as any who has gone to see a movie at Emagine knows, was founded in Michigan (Clarkston!) by CEO & chairman Paul Glantz! (He welcomes you to Emagine before every movie plays!) It has now expanded its locations throughout all of Michigan and the Midwest, and I couldn't be more proud of this little company that could! Emagine is focused on the customer's experience firstly and is truly everything you're looking for in a movie theater: reserved seating, chairs that RECLINE, ARE ROOMY, AND HEAT UP (if you want!), concessions delivered straight to your seat, a bar to purchase alcohol from, IMAX screens (they're called EMAX here!), $5 movie Tuesdays (with free popcorn if you enroll in their FREE loyalty program), and that's just to name a few! If you live anywhere within the metro Detroit area, there is probably an Emagine located not too far away from you. If that's the case then trust me, it's worth the drive. I average watching 70 movies a year in theaters, and I almost exclusively only watch them at Emagine because they are just that great. You will never have a better movie-going experience than when you're at Emagine Entertainment! Located just on the other side of the highway from all the other Canton attractions like...IKEA (lol)...this is a great location for yet another wonderful Emagine! Emagine Canton is another MASSIVE movie theater, very similar in layout to that of Emagine Novi and home to the second SUPER EMAX screen, the first being, again, at Emagine Novi, which is the largest IMAX screen in Michigan! It's a big ginormous space of a movie theater and always has tons of people coming and going. I absolutely love Emagine Canton and always try to bundle this with a bunch of shopping I can get done on Ford Road, especially if I have the time to stop at IKEA Canton as well. :) Love this Emagine! read more

Overall, an okay place to go catch a movie. Started off great - easy to grab your tickets from the kiosk if you pre-order. Then it said we were in Auditorium 19, the only screen which has no signage (they do for 1-18). After wandering around for 5 minutes, we asked the staff and got some vague directions which eventually got us there. Don't do the "cuddle" chairs! So uncomfortable! Luckily, my wife was able to run up to the front to exchange our tickets for some seats in the back. And lastly, wear some ear protection - it was by far the loudest volume I've ever watched a movie, almost unbearably loud. And I'm someone who had subwoofers in my car. Went to this megaplex on Ford road New Year's Day. Me and everyone else were there. The place was hopping. We had gone on line and pre-purchased tickets. Parking was available and adequately lit, although there were girls loudly arguing in the parking lot. They have the recliner style of seats, which were comfortable for me. However they were not big enough for my friend who is 6'4" tall. The bathrooms were clean. We did not get anything from the concession stand. Overall I think this is a good place to go see a movie, although there are other movie theaters that have more comfortable seating read more

It's a nice theater, but there's a few smaller screening rooms than The newer Saline location has. They also don't have the deliver to your seat option like the Saline location has. Yes, I've been spoiled by Saline, though they are $1 more per ticket. They do have a little donut stand for fresh mini donuts, but the past few times I've been here it was not running. read more

Nice theater ...very clean!! The movie itself isn't as good as the first three!! (**I was talking about the "Hobbit").. This theater has a program where they give you a card and each time you buy a movie, popcorn, and/ or a drink... You get to have your card "punched" and when your card is full then you get something free! This theater is pretty clean and they show a lot of previews too! They offer many different movie choices and many snacks,drinks etc..,,and even. Coffee! I really enjoyed being able to have a nice hot coffee in the theater while I lovingly watched "The Hobbit" with my hubby! Its not my favorite movie LOL....Soo this is a nice and clean place to enjoy a movie! They offer many show times and some twilight shows between 4-6pm when ticket prices are a bit cheaper! They will not allow anyone under 21 without an adult after 6PM...and it's not advertised until you're already in the theater. I ordered tickets for my son and his friends for a 9 o'clock show, and had to drive there because my son (who is 16 and drove himself) wasn't allowed in - Rating is irrelevant. read more

Was super excited to go see DeadPool and when picking theaters we decided to go to Emagine because of the automatic recliner sofa seats. Well. Thanks. Since my moms in a wheelchair seats D-6 to D-8 are not automatic. I guess they were cheaper to buy? Ironically this isn't the first time this has happened. When we went to see Avengers my chair was broken. And a few months ago another chair was broken, that an usher politely and quickly fixed...although it shut off again during the movie so the foot rest was stuck in the up position. That and when I went to see Logan last year, the top of the theater has safety rails. Which is awesome when your short...bottom 1/10 of the screen had a metal bar thru the ENTIRE movie blocking the bottom of the screen. Which would be an not so easy fix by raising the IMAX screen? read more

Small parking lot for such a large theater, but since I screwed up and purchased tickets through the app for the Canton instead of Saline theater, we had to trek out to Canton. They do not allow exchanges or refunds for such mistakes - which is really annoying. I definitely won't do that again. Even on a Wednesday night, the parking lot was full. This theater has 20 screens and the same offerings as other Emagine theaters - such as pizza and pretzels delivered to your seat. Full bar and beverage stations. Same general layout and concessions. This theater is a little more 'used' than other Emagine theaters in the area. Check your chair before you sit, to make sure it's not broken. Mine was glitchy but we got it to work and it was comfortable for the movie. Assigned seats really takes the stress out of going to the movies. We sat at the bar and waited until showtime. Emagine makes movie going easy and comfortable. I mostly appreciate the cleanliness of the over all theater. That really makes a difference. This theater is set back a bit, from Ford rd, however, it is just next to Home Depot, before the bridge, on the south side of Ford. read more
