Today, my friends and I went to Regal using the Summer Movie Express tickets, which were only $2.00 each. We went with our children and watched The Wild Robot. It was such a great movie--both the kids and the adults really enjoyed it. I purchased our tickets online, so I only needed to scan my phone for entry. However, the self-service kiosks started malfunctioning. I went to the concession stand for assistance, and an employee helped me so I could get our snacks. Once we were seated, my baby accidentally knocked over our brand-new bucket of popcorn. We went back out and explained what happened to a young employee. To my surprise, she kindly replaced the popcorn for us. Before the movie started, we returned to our seats and did our best to clean up the mess. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially when unexpected issues came up. I do wish Regal would hire more young people for summer jobs, as the self-service machines seemed to be having technical difficulties and additional staff could help assist customers more quickly. read more

Got here and was expecting to watch the movie obsession, little did I know it was rated R (probably should have assumed so though). Anyways that's not the problem, I got here and employee asked what movie I was seeing, I said obsession and he asked for an ID, at first I thought he was joking seem not. I was told I had to be 17 or with an adult which I understood. They said after I bought the tickets I would have gotten a pop up saying that I need to be 17 with an adult. This did not show up on my screen. I explained that and they said I could get a refund or watch toy story. I went with toy story. The manager came over to change my ticket was very rude didn't seem to care! He told me I had to pay 4 more dollars for the toy story ticket which I thought was insane. Could have at least given me the tickets for no extra cost. Then I thought they would maybe give me a discount of some sort on my food, no I payed full price. If you work in the customer service industry you know that you try to give extras when customers are not completely satisfied to insure reviews like this aren't written. Manager and staff was completely rude and unprofessional. Do not recommend this place. Also very dirty! read more

Regal Virginia Center has the perfect location in Northern Henrico County. It's on the Bus Line for those that need it, which is a plus for those that need it. New GRTC route. The Theatre has been there for years and it closed down for a while. Re-opening was exciting. The service is excellent. they have "Great" snacks, great beverage choices non and alcohol. The theatre is clean, but needs a little up grading. The facility is clean, smell a little old. Just deep clean the seats in each theatre or replace them. Carpet well keep, but it's the original. The individual theatre's just need attention, so you don't feel like you're in an old place. Overall, I'm happy you back !! read more

We saw Formula 1 Movie here and although tickets were $24.00 each it was worth the cost as it was very enjoyable. The seats were exceptional for comfort and cleanliness. Didn't care for the coming attractions before hand but in a theater you have no choice. I would enjoy seeing others movies here too. This movie is close to where we live so it is a good option for us. We went and saw One Love about Bob Marley. The place is a little worn and the seats are not overly comfortable. But it is easy to park there, easy to get tickets and popcorn. The only annoying thing was when we were in line for popcorn this guy working there pretty much sweep the tops of our shoes off trying to sweep up the popcorn people had spilt. read more

Bought two tickets for a fathom events show on Thanksgiving via the Regal app. Arrived 15 minutes early for a noon showtime. Signs were posted to purchase tickets from concessions, which was staffed by four people ready to take orders. One employee scanned our digital tickets and we were directed to our theater. Lobby and bathrooms were clear and clean. Theater as well. No problem locating our seats due to the illuminated letters and numbers on each row. Sound and screen worked well with no issues. read more

On a Thursday afternoon we entered an empty parking lot--or maybe 7 to 8 vehicles. Every ticket window is closed. Printer signs say Tickets at Concession. Two registers open. Pick a line where groups of 3-6 are not only buying tickets but 3 course meals--oh wait, it's only drinks popcorn and candy taking this long. Arrived 20 minutes prior to movie starting and now have 7 minutes left to wait through these lines for just a ticket to sit down. Employee asks us to pick our seat tickets from the screen. Seriously? The theater is empty. Eanie meanie miney mo %\ seats chosen. Movie time with non to spare. Enter theater and it's entirely empty. Search for designated row, seats. Two others show up in theater. Thankful we didn't come here on a weekend. Imagine the line at concessions just for a ticket to sit down. There really aren't enough stand alone theaters anymore. In my experience they're connected to huge malls and always really busy. And while they're usually outfitted with latest plushy reclining chairs and smell like buttered popcorn there's something missing. It's really hard to convey the look of nostalgia you get from the big regal neon lights in a shared lobby with a lens crafters. That's where regal Virginia center shines. As you pull into the parking lot you're blasted by the pure neon colors that have made regal a trademark experience. When you walk in you see the familiar sights you've been missing but didn't quite know it. The ticket stand, the popcorn machine, the row of snacks, etc. However along with retro theaters comes outdated spaces. The floors inside the theaters are linoleum, the entire space is on the same level, and (you guessed it) there are no reclining chairs. Even still, I can't fault the Virginia center too much because I would trade all those amenities in a heartbeat for that ear breaking audio from my childhood. I'm talking about when the soundtrack just comes blasting out of the speakers with no regard for what a human should actually be listening to. With all that in mind make your decision. I'm gonna go again but maybe it's not for you. All I ask is you see your movies in theaters. It's just worth it. read more

If I could give lower than 1 Star I would. To start off, the movie theater has stadium seating instead of the now more common sofa/recliner seating. That alone makes it a theater I would not choose over other local options. But we were traveling through, needed to kill time, and have the Regal pass. What makes it a 1 star, our theater smelled disgusting. You walked in and immediately a damp, moist smell hits (thank goodness for the smell of movie snacks in lap). The seats were so heavily stained that you could see many stains even in the dark movie lights. Then our movie starts over 25 minutes after the advertised start time. Not because of 25 minutes worth of trailers but because of advertisements. I think they started the reel late. Lastly, the ladies restroom was the worst of any movie theater ever. Toilets not cleaned, dried liquids on stall walls and there was only soap in one dispenser. During COVID, I had to walk around all the sinks to find soap. This theater is poorly managed, cleaned, and outdated. The later you can live with, but the first two make it DO NOT go. read more

Ok - the popcorn was subpar at this place, I guess it has to be piping hot out of the oil to taste like anything . However, why I'll never go back to this theater is the volume of commercials played between the movie's start time and when the picture actually began- unprecedented. We went to the movies on a Saturday night at about 7-8 to see The Hobbit and everything was fine. We used the Fandango ticket printer to skip the lines, then my husband waited in line for concessions while I went and found a seat. The popcorn was a bit stale :( The theater itself seems a little outdated compared to the newer theaters, the auditorium was smaller and the seats were a little small, but the sound/picture were on par with the others. We saw several of Henrico's finest on guard and had no problems with other movie goers. Just a lot of families, couples and youngsters out to have a good time watching a movie! I have to say, I was warned by MANY people that this theater was filled with drama and talkative, rude people, but we were pleasantly surprised to find this wasn't the case. And the fact that the movie was rated R and treated us like we were stupid because we were all 19 and not 21. So if you need anything just don't because he will be no help whatsoever. This has been a horrible theater experience. Crowded concessions stand...nothing but teenagers and employees who are both slow and untrained. The seats are dated. There was a second concession stand unopened, which would have helped the line. When stating that to ourselves a rude employee commented that it was "too expensive To open". Which makes no sense because it was stocked. We are out of town and wanted to see the Avengers, but should have listened to the reviews. Lesson learned! Went to see avengers here! It was a packed house and very very busy! Lots of families and teens but everyone I saw was very well behaved. Felt a community atmosphere when viewing avengers. We got our tickets ahead of time to skip the lines. The food line was very long and perhaps they should have opened another side of the consession stand but the employees did thier best and did well for the amount of people here. New seating system is cool to pick your seats but has some kinks to work out as it can be confusing but the rows are well labeled. If confused talk to your seatmates who are helpful and know the system. Smaller screens and a bit outdated but nice retro feel. Cool priced video game in the lobby. Been coming here since I was a kid and it's not perfect but it's a nice old well loved movie theatre with a community feel. read more

This isn't a terrible movie theater by any means, but it is a review in which "I've experienced better" elsewhere. This theater is in the same shopping center of Virginia Center Commons mall and Jumpology and within one block of two small shopping centers and a Target and a Martins so the location is great for all your shopping and fun activities. The parking lot is a little small so is the theater, probably not much bigger than West Tower near West End Manor neighborhood. The concession area is extremely small so the lines can be backed up but they had plenty of employees when I came on a Saturday afternoon. There's free water if you ask for it, but it comes in a small courtesy cup so I asked if i can pay a little more for an actual size cup but I had to pay the same price as the Soda Cup price even though I just wanted water... it's crazy! The theater we were in was about average size and actually felt a little bit on the warmer side instead of the freezing temperatures you usually expect with most (newer) theaters. Seats were okay and floor was relatively clean. This theater is actually not very close to me so I won't be venturing out here again to see a movie. Bow tie Cinemas will always have my business! read more

First time out here and I was impressed. Had purchased my tickets online and got caught in a accident on my there this missing my show. The manager on duty was so great and said no problem, another show starts in 10 minutes. Yes, next to the movie, popcorn and you got to see the previews. The theatre was clean and facilities was also clean which is surprisingly a treat for a theatre. It was spacious inside and the sound & quality of film was great. This will not be my last time coming here and I would recommend this for outings with friends. Great job! read more

I've always liked coming here, but they recently removed the lines which was a really dumb idea. Now people don't really know where to go or who is already in line. Bad move. One really fast employee can get 4 people through the line and if you're in another line you're just gonna have to deal with it. It's really unorganized. Also the cashier was really rude to us tonight. I've never had bad experiences here before. But I think they need to reinforce the lines. I don't see it going well for big releases like the next Avengers, it was hard enough tonight. read more

This has been my main movie theatre venue since I was a preteen. Not a whole lot has changed, other than it's probably less crowded than it once was and the prices for food, as is likely the case with most theatres, has gone WAY up. Most, if not all of the movie rooms are stadium-style, the seats are comfortable, and I've never experienced any technical issues with the film. There is also ample parking, and there are plenty of generic restaurant chains to choose from for a pre or post movie meal. The staff is hit or miss- mostly teenagers. My main gripe is how darn expensive the refreshments have become. I thought $10 would be enough for a small popcorn and a small drink. Nope- $6.25 for a small popcorn (that was cold mind you) and $5 for a small coke. read more

This is a small theater for the price you pay is ridiculous. They need to upgrade to cinema seating. They don't have an early show discount. I arrived for a 3:40 show and it still was $10.50 daggg maybe its because I'm here in va. I'm not sure but shows in Maryland before 5pm are at discount rates. So if you going to charge regular rates at least upgrade the theater with stadium seating. read more

Over the years this place has gotten better. Parking isn't be best but its easier than short pump regal. The concession is small but moves efficiently. The movie times and the availability of movies are great. The theater seats are standard and from what I can tell all the screens are digital. Sound quality is good however I did experience a dirty screen in one of the theater. Overall, its a descent place to go. read more

BEDBUGS!! Had a horrible experience during a movie show in Audi 14. Caught two bugs rolling on me, held on to it to see it once outside. And it was indeed a bedbug. Had to get the clothes dry cleaned. Would try to avoid it as much as possible. Rest all is just fine, have experienced better in AMC's. read more

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to the movies. Us and a gazillion other people. How many ticket lines were open for ALL the movies? ONE. UNO. The line quintuple snaked in front of the ticket window and out the doors. Twenty five minutes to get our tickets. Reason for only one ticket seller? "Most of our people don't come in until after 4:00." Who would have guessed anyone would go to the movies before 4:00 ON THEIR DAY OFF after a major holiday? This rating is solely about the outstanding customer service I received at this venue. I had purchased tickets for a special viewing of Mary and the Witch's Flower, a limited-release film. Unfortunately, I had selected the wrong theater when I made the purchase online, and we showed up for tickets to the right movie at the wrong place. The manager would have been well within his rights to turn us away, but he chose to honor the tickets even though it was clearly entirely my fault we were in the wrong place. He was so gracious and understanding, and assured us it was no trouble. Customer service like that is hard to find and we are very grateful! read more

Regal at VCC has been the mecca for movies since the 80's. It's a bit dated, but they try to keep things up to date tech-wise. Going during the week is the best time to go because Friday and Saturday nights will be jammed to the hilt. read more

This is kind of an older theater BUT it is stadium seating, the seats are plush, there are lots of screens, ample parking. Really could not complain. The matinee tickets were 7.75 for adults, and 7.25 for a child. I would definitely return to this theater. The staff were very helpful and friendly, which is always a plus. read more

So I don't have a lot of complaints, it was just kinda 'meh.' To start, the worst part was that the screen didn't turn on until more than half way through the previews. I was going mad trying to guess what they all were and what actors were involved. I snidely remarked that I "couldn't wait to hear that movie when it comes out." Although many 'yelpers' pointed out the dirty floors and yelling, I did not experience any of that. I went on a Monday night, and the place was nearly empty. The people were very properly mannered for a movie viewing and the popcorn was buttery. The prices did seem a little high for tickets and refreshments, but then of course I do frequent the Byrd Theater and it is way cheaper. I had free tickets which made it an affordable event, so I drove out to Glenn Allen for a movie. The Bow Tie Cinemas is a much better facility and I wouldn't recommend passing up any other theater to get to this particular one. If you live in Glenn Allen, why not, especially if you score free tickets. It wasn't terrible, I just don't care for it much. read more
