The management at Bolden has been terrible to deal with. My AC has been broken since April 2nd,…read more2026 and despite months passing, the issue still has not been properly resolved. The only "solution" management has provided is an extremely loud window unit that barely cools the living room even when outdoor temperatures are only in the 80s. It doesn't effectively cool the apartment, and the noise is so disruptive that it barely lets me sleep at night. No meaningful urgency, and no adequate short-term accommodation (like a credit or temporary accommodation) while this drags on. Going months without functioning AC especially with temperatures reaching into the 90s and 100s is unacceptable. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in months, and the lack of proper action from management has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

A special thank you to the management team and, in particular, Mr. Cesar. Their professionalism and dedication are unmatched. Even during challenging times, such as heavy snowstorms and other urgent situations, they provided real-time, reliable service that made us feel completely supported. I am currently leaving to pursue my PhD at the University of Washington in Seattle, but I am already looking forward to the possibility of returning to The Bolden in the future. I highly encourage any families looking for a positive, well-managed environment to consider making this your home. Thank you, Bolden team, for such a wonderful experience!

The leasing office has also become incredibly responsive, and the team is always friendly, helpful, and willing to assist. A special thank you to Tamia, who was amazing throughout my recent apartment transfer. The whole team made the entire transfer process smooth and stress-free, and were always available to answer my questions and help with anything I needed along the way. Their professionalism and kindness made such a difference. The maintenance team also deserves recognition--they're amazing, always quick to respond to requests and do a great job. I'm grateful and blessed to call this community home, and I look forward to continuing to live here. Highly recommend!

This is the best location in the DMV with easy access to the beltway, 66, the GW Parkway, Dulles Toll Road, and downtown DC. The apartments in this building are spacious with large windows, lots of light, and upscale window treatments...no flimsy see-through blinds at the Highgate. The building onsite management, maintenance, and cleaning staff are superb. Everyone is friendly, approachable, extremely helpful, and very competent. Problems and concerns are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner. The community manager, Ezra Mizrachy, is more than willing to work with residents on rent increases and apartment updates so that you feel you're at home, not just in an anonymous rental. Though some services have changed during the years we've lived here, things are always being improved upon with the comfort and lifestyle of residents in mind. Kudos to both Erza and assistant manager, Gabriella Orellana, for making the Highgate a wonderful and inviting community.

Between the flies that…read morebreed and live in the pipes, the wonky air conditioning and heat , and the *constant* power outages, it's frustrating enough. Let's not forget the constantly malfunctioning elevator, the exciting moments when all the entrances except the front one decide to freeze up and stop opening with your pass, and the fun challenge of hauling the blue shopping carts they offer for hauling your stuff inside up and down several steps - instead of a ramp. (That would make too much sense - we already have one ADA compliant entry. Two would apparently just be excessive.) There's also frequently a smell of gas coming from the side of the building (when we told the front desk they said it was nothing to worry about, but for the sake of full disclosure, thought I should let it be known) But as a fun bonus, you can also have the wonderful experience of breathing in ALL the carcinogens that your neighbors choose to bless you with. The cigarette smoke is so intense and comes through the vents into *your* unit and now all of your stuff gets to smell like cigarette smoke too! Fantastic! And the best part is, you don't even have to live next to that neighbor in order to get that charming experience. And - when you go to complain to management - you get told that there's nothing they can do, since this building was built in the dark ages, and they have literal bylaws protecting indoor smoking! Awesome! So yeah, the location is great, and it has some of the best prices in McLean - but those prices are the way they are for a reason.

The other establishment is called The Promenade Apartments. I have only seen some of this building so far. I will be working here till the end of Monday at 5pm. The people I have meet so far cool and down to earth. The only trouble I had was getting some of the equipment to work properly. In the end, it came down to flipping one small switch. Nevertheless, I am having fun and will be back for possibly a lazy Sunday. We will see.

Tyson's I and II are close by, as well The Boro shopping center - Safe neighbourhood - Management is very responsive and polite. Every time I have interacted with Ms. Brenda she has been nice and professional. - Since these are condos, every unit is a bit different. I enjoyed the layout of my particular unit, especially since I was on the top floor. - Great prices. I paid a little over $1500/month for a one bedroom. I believe other units in the neighbourhood had comparable rent rates. - Part of my rent covered the condo fee so I had to pay the condo fee myself. As such, I'd like to point out that condo fee actually *decreased twice*! Not by a whole lot but still every little bit counts. Cons: - The walls and floors are not the thinnest, but also not the thickest. I lived on a top floor, end unit and *still* had noise issues. I believe the buildings are made out of mostly wood which does not prevent sound or motion transfer. I knew when my neighbours were home because I could feel and hear the front door slam or cabinet doors closing. I even heard the neighbour below me sneeze! For my sanity, I played white noise which helped a lot. - Not a whole lot of amenities Overall I would recommend Fountains at McLean as a renter. If you're sensitive to noise definitely get a white noise machine and a top floor unit!

The renters experience with a third party company shouldn't be a reflection on this great condominium complex. The newly elected HOA leadership is terrific and overseeing many improvements to the community. Brenda and Trudy at the office are always responsive and communicative. Repairs are underway for things like external staircases, roofing repairs, etc., which can be noisy, but there's always a lot of forewarning. Amenities are: pool (awesome in the summer), decent little gym, sauna, game room in the HOA building with rentable party space, lots of green space for pets, doggie bag stations, well-lit at night, close proximity to Harris Teeter, community is next to bus stops on Jones Branch that go straight to metro. For folks who work at Freddie Mac, this is the dream commute -- takes about 15 seconds to walk to work. Overall, a great community. People are friendly, and HOA is professional.
