I will walk in this indoor mall and shop/dine here as long as the doors are open. Yes, I know the mall leaks, all of the anchor stores have left. But, there is the food court, Bath & Body Works are here(usually no lines no waiting). They have the Regency Vitamin Shop, and a few other stores like LensCrafters. I challenge you to take a chance and come to the food court for a Boba Drink from one of the kindest Asian man and his wife that I know(Boba Blends),Sakura and Mandarin Kitchen are Asian owned and the sister owns Sakura and the brother owns Mandarin Kitchen. The First Coast Cookies, I love dearly, Mr. Potato Spread, Funnel Cake Queen, & Island dream are in the food court too! The last three used to be food trucks and now in Brick and mortar. They might still have trucks too, not sure. Come give the mall a chance! Ernie and I enjoy walking in here as well, because it's air conditioned and inside walking is good for us!

But overall, this mall has definitely seen better days. While the exterior doesn't necessarily reveal the level of aging, when you get inside the mall you noticed pretty quickly but this mall is likely on it's downturn. There are several closed, or seemingly closed stores, and most of the traffic seems relegated to a couple of the larger department stores like H&M and Belk. A lot of empty kiosks in the middle of the walkway with the rest of them being occupied by local vendors that didn't seem to be getting much business at all. And if teenagers are still headed to malls on Saturday's to hang out, this is clearly not the mall that most of the local teenagers here hang out in as the traffic was surprisingly light for a Saturday - I just realized that may appeal to certain readers of this review. Lol. Anyway, unless you are visiting a specific store in this mall as a destination, I would probably suggest finding one of Jacksonvilles bigger malls for a true mall experience.

We were just reading an article about Pizza Hut closing a bunch of locations- I wonder if this one will survive the cut. Because this little plaza was built in a large parking lot in front of the movie theater- there is an abundance of parking. There is some cross cutting traffic because of the location.... I may be guilty of that myself- especially right now with the movie theater closed. This little plaza packs a punch with food- and is a good addition the the Tinseltown area. It has 3 ways in and out of the plaza- the Southern most entrance/exit is a right turn only onto Hodges. The middle entrance/exit allows for both right & left turns inbound and outbound for Hodges. The North entrance/exit allows for both directions onto Sutton Park Dr- you can then access a traffic light to go on Hodges. The Northern exit can get backed up with traffic trying to exit left- especially in the mornings when school is in session. The plaza has a Publix as the anchor store, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Peterbrooke, One Stop Liquor, China Wok, Mac+PC Tech Pro, Butler Animal Clinic, Florida Medical Hearing Center, Massage Green Spa, Hodges Dry Cleaners, Hair Cuttery, Brightway Insurance, Oh La La Nails & Spa, Dentist, Volcano Sushi House & Marco's Pizza. Free standing businesses throughout the plaza include: Starbucks- with a drive thru, Daily's Gas Station, Walgreens, Burger King & Wells Fargo Bank. I frequent Publix & Daily's Gas Station and various other businesses on occasion. There is plenty of parking, it's easy to navigate the parking lot and usually it's easy getting in and out of the plaza. This is my "run errands" shopping center- quick pick up for meals or to tank up.

What more could you ask for in the heart of an up-and-coming neighborhood like Brooklyn? I live just behind The Brooklyn Station and I find myself here nearly every day. Regency centers owns this shopping plaza and they do a nice job of keeping it maintained and up to date. They are currently paining and doing some stucco work to keep things nice and fresh. There is plenty of parking and although it gets very busy at lunchtime it's pretty easy to maneuver your way through it (just watch for pedestrians!) Rumor has it the JTA Skyway is working on plans to expand its way into the Brooklyn area (first expansion in 25+ years) and I believe this will do wonders for these local businesses when they finally are connected to Downtown & Lavilla.

The cashier Monique the worse attitude telling me to call my bank because the purchase wasn't going through. Like how dare her! As if I will be shopping without the Funds. This past July I made another Purchase and the system had a glitch. Can you believe I was charged 75.00 but never received my merchandise? I kept going back into the store to show the transaction was processed and posted and I still didn't get my items the manager Joshua uttered something in Spanish as I go I didn't understand. Super unprofessional as well as the manager Karen another rude lady. She promised to keep my items that were ALREADY PAID FOR IN HER OFFICE AND THEY STILL HAD THE AUDACITY TO PUT ALL THE ITEMS THAT DID NOT BELLNG TO THEM BACK ON THE FLOOR FOR SALE. Those managers do not care. I was treated like trash. All they had to do was reboot the stupid register but of course why would Karen know how to use the register as a store manager?
