    Conch fritters

There's only two restaurants on the beach. This is a chill spot with decent food to meet your needs. It's a bit more low key than the other beach restaurant. The fried snapper was fine but not as seasoned as expected. The conch fritters are decent but dont expect any chunks of conch at all. They did come with garlic bread and a little salad, which is appreciated. It took about 40 minutes to get our food and there were only about 4-5 people there when we ordered. Maybe we were there too early (noon) for the kitchen to be prepared with fresh options. Nobody told us why there was a delay until we inquired, proactive communication makes a difference. The drinks were fine but I was given the incorrect order. I didn't appreciate that the waiter didn't own up to the mistake and tried to convince me that I had a mango colada even though it was white and no flavor. I saw 100 of them during my time on the beach which were vibrantly colored for mango. I did notice the fish sandwich was a popular selection as we were leaving. It was more affordable and looked like it had a nice crispy batter on it. If I went, it would be for a quick eat sandwich meal and maybe rum punch.

Get the Pinal colada and smoothies w/rum here! The drinks were delicious and not overly sweet - though they weren't as boozy. The service at the bar was fast and friendly. We also go the panko-crusted mahi strip, it was interesting. The beach itself was packed on the day we were there as there was a med school party. There were chairs/umbrellas, but too crowded for my liking. Beautiful sunset view here - and you get to watch pelicans diving into the water!

Excellent fresh coconut anything. Coconut shrimp was amazing. So were the fresh piña, coladas and painkillers. Painkillers are on the rocks. But fresh and just the right blend of rum. Ask for Maya. Great server, one woman with great positivity!

(Visited 2/3/2020) Day 3,922 of our 10-day cruise on the Norwegian Jade and we were able to visit St. Kitts. After a busy day of exploring the island and doing some snorkeling it was time to relax on the beach! Here's how hanging at Reggae Beach went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set completely outside under a giant wooden hut is this very cool, very tropical gem. With the weather always in the high 70s or low 80s, there's literally no need to be inside at all. Lol. The music was nice, the area was spacious and it fit right in with the surroundings. Service: Service was as expected. An older gentleman took care of us, but they were certainly on "island time" if you know what that means. Lol. We weren't in a rush at all, so everything was all good. We enjoyed the sound of the sooth waves washing ashore while sipping our wine so we actually lost track of time. Food: As soon as I spotted the conch fritters on the menu I knew I had to had them. I've heard about these legendary delights through music, TV shows and the like so I had to indulge! Out came 4 lightly colored fritters with crispy edges and a small rameken of their "creamy cocktail sauce" that looked more like an avocado ranch, but indeed... it was what they said it was. It meshed very well with the soft, flaky fritters. They were delicious, not fishy, savory and absolutely worth getting again. Value: $11.00 for my order and totally worth it. Most of the menu was reasonably priced, but we didn't want to get too full before getting back to the ship for dinner! In conclusion, this was a nice lil' place to stop by and take a breather. It's set right on the beach so it's an absolutely perfect place to chill all day and run the bar tab up! Lol. Check this place out when you can.

Reggae Reach is the place to be on St. Kitts on a Friday night. Everyone raves about their Friday night buffet. I was happy to say it lived up to the hype. The food was the best I had on the island since I arrived. The food was fresh, flavorful, and very filling. Although the drive is long about 20 mins from downtown Basseterre it is scenic during the day. At night, the drive through the mountains is close to the shore and is lit up by the lights along the roadway. For $36 you get a choice of 2 or 3 meats and unlimited sides which includes: salad, rice and beans, sweet plaintains, hush puppies( at least that is what I think they were) and, two varieties of steamed veggies. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance to ensure a space. The location is prime and the night lights create a great ambiance. It's an open style bar with extensive amount of seating on the beach. We were seated near the Rush Slowly shop and took a look in but didnt get anything. When they started the bon fire, folks gathered around to feel the heat as a nice balance to the cool breeze that flowed through the air. Reggae Beach was a hit but the DJ could do a better job of keeping the tunes rolling. - This is a minor critique as my family and I truly enjoyed ourselves.

When we walked in they handed us 2 menus and pointed to the stairs. There's a narrow catwalk with a few deuces along the windows. Service was quick (by Caribbean standards ), with drinks delivered promptly, even during a busy lunch rush. There is no rum punch on the menu but they have it and it's refreshingly delicious. My husband ordered the Diablo cocktail - also yummy! I read that the conch fritters were great - I'm not sure I'd say "great." They are flat and a little dry with more a suggestion of conch flavor rather than discernible chunks of conch. Still if you've got a hankering, it's convenient and they are tasty - especially the sauce. They come with 3 in the order. Hubs ordered the fish sandwich with fries and enjoyed it although he noted the ketchup was sweeter and thinner than US style ketchup. He liked it. I ordered the pan fried (grilled) grouper that came with a home-style cole slaw and seasoned rice with a few black beans mixed in. Tartar sauce came in a squirt bottle and lemon on the side. The fish was seasoned well and priced great. I heard others around us raving about the fish and chips, too. There is a vegetarian section on their menu but I don't know how easy it would be to get anything vegan except a salad. At the end you walk up to the bar / hostess area to collect your check and pay. They take visa and Mastercard and have prices on their menu in both the local currency and US dollars. They clearly are happy to cater to cruise ship passengers! Great laid back place.

Service was good and the place wasn't very busy at all. We were immediately seated and our order taken. Sadly, for our taste, the fritters were dry and lacking of any conch flavor. We also ordered wings and they were ok. Topped the meal off with a rum punch and went back to the ship to eat. The rum punch was the best tasting item we had! Traveling the Caribbean, we've tasted much better fritters!
