One of our fave music venues in the city. We love that it's inexpensive, roomy (for even a small venue), and quite easy to get around. The drinks are reasonably priced and well made. Our fave bartender, Sarah, is always super welcoming, fun and attentive! We can usually strike up a conversation with pretty much anyone sitting at the bar. And sometimes you never know who you may be sitting next to (wink wink). It's very easy to find parking, especially with Spot Hero we can usually nab a spot for under 5$. Music tix are decent priced as well from free to around 25$ for larger acts. Always a great time! read more

The most disgusting food and service ever. I if you want to be treated badly and have some disgusting food and is nasty. The service was terrible. The server brought me a chicken sandwich that was bad. It's fell apart it was like mush and tastes really bad. I'm a big fan of Reggie's. I've been to countless concerts at both main stage and the side stage. Sound is usually on point and just a good space to watch a show. Their food is also worth a visit and servers are very nice. The $15 all you can eat Buffet comes with a ticket to a White Sox game for select Sundays with a shuttle to the stadium. Food is always good but bar tender Tom is rude. He ignores patrons and moves as if he is very unconcerned with serving customers. He makes condescending comments/gestures and doesn't seem to enjoy his job. Beware: Tom will toss your drinks at you when he gets frustrated. Disclaimer: I can only speak to the food here. Ordered 8 mixed wings (it's BBQ+Buffalo mixed together) and they were solid. The flavor was definitely there (good amount of heat) but I would've preferred a bit less sauce because they were drenched. A note on the wing deal on Tuesdays: you have to buy a drink (can be non-alcoholic) to get the 40 cent wings (this condition applies to all daily specials). Plus, it's 1 drink per 8 wings. So if you weren't planning to order a drink, it's still cheaper to get a drink just for the deal, but not as big of a savings as you'd expect given the cheapest soft drink is $2.75. Additionally, I've heard you can have the mixed wings be Fire+BBQ instead of Buffalo+BBQ but our waitress said they don't do that on wing day on account of not having time to customize (not sure if I buy that). On that note, don't expect good service here. The food was quick but everything else takes a while: getting your menus, getting your orders taken, getting the check. Our server was pretty aggressive as well. She seemed to be in a hurry to take our orders and wasn't very friendly. Yes, the music is on the loud side but that's to be expected from a grungy dive bar/music venue like this one. Reggies.... such a great atmosphere on each level. My personal favorite is their roof top where they host Bingo night on Monday along with $2 tacos (a great place to go to watch MNF). They also have a pool table and basketball hoop if you're a gamer. Their first floor has their stage and main bar. Mr. Blotto is back performing every Tuesday (my favorite since I used to go to Blottopia back in the day). Besides the atmosphere, their food is delicious! They're known for thier burgers and wings, but honestly everything is good. This past visit I had their Backed Mac & Cheese with Pulled Pork and Jalapeños. Wow! Fantastic! There is some great music to be had here and the rooftop is a great place to hang out if you're willing to venture off the beaten path. Not a fan of the service you get most nights from the bartenders, but the music can keep your mind off that problem. The only real issue I have is the wings. I've read the hype over the years and have tried them on occasion, but really don't get why people like them. I caution Black Americans... I Will Not Be Returning!!! This was once a cheap place to chill on a nice summer day years ago. I caution Black Americans to stay clear. The bar tenders ignore you and one was extremely rude. He told a mature man in my party to "Shut Up", while asking for water. We questioned his aggressive behavior and were asked to leave without a refund of a massive amount of food that had just been brought to our table. Then we were told "we'll call the police if you don't leave". We had no problem leaving, we never posed a threat nor became aggressive. We simply asked for our money back and we would gladly leave and never return. In our current hyper racial climate a threat to call the police is modern day bullying of Black Americans used to incite fear for demanding common civil rights. I am a Black American Emergency Medicine provider. Risking my professionalism and the ability to continue to save lives daily is not worth patronizing such establishments. My first time to actually ordered an entree from Reggies. Me and co-workers always get fries from here but that's it. Being extremely hungry and there's not that many option around Cullerton and Wabash, I decided to order from Reggies. I ordered chicken taco salad. It was actually good. Big portion in a big taco bowl. The only thing why I didn't give Reggies five stars because I asked for a ranch dressing, instead, I received something else. My band had the pleasure of playing Reggie's Music Joint once again last week. We played one of the SXSW Benefit shows, so Reggie's could reserve a night at the Jackalope in Austin, TX! It was a fun night and we were treated very well. The Music Joint is the small room to the left when you approach the club. Do not go into the big black darkness! (That, my dear, is the Rock Club). Reggie's Music Joint is decorated with all sorts of music memorabilia such as 8-Track tapes, guitars made out of Damen Ave. signs, and a great collection of concert posters and original prints! There's plenty of seating at the bar, a few large booths and plenty of picnic-like tables to give it a real Austin BBQ joint feel. I love it! The Joint serves food and has an extensive menu. I really wanted to try the pulled pork, but had to go with the nachos to add to my "Nachos List"! Plus, I was really curious, Nachos is like my profession! The Nachos were a big disappointment, sadly. With real melted cheese, hard-to-find refried beans, and not much else, the jalapenos at least saved it from obscurity. Nachos- 2Stars! I will definitely try more items on their food menu, which is veggie friendly. And perhaps I will try them on Mondays when ALL tap beers are only $3! And with the Joint's great tap beer selection that is awesome! We're talking Bell's, Stella, Rogue, Great Lakes, Dogfish Head...lots of microbrews! Bar service is attentive and pleasant. Reggie's has plenty of those TV box things so you can keep up on your stories while you're drinking too! And musically, they support local music and so should you! There was a blues band before our show, that performs every Friday. They had a young blues harp player that kept the train a-chuggin' all night long! I think I have socks older than that kid! It's all about support people! Parking is ample, and I think the meters are the 6pm variety, so you won't be plugging quarters into Daley's bottomless meter sell-off plan! If Reggie's was on the North Side you know it would full of annoying people every night and you'd never go. Give this near South Side rock complex a chance and I'm sure you'll become a fan like I'm turning out to be! read more

It's fine here for seeing bands. Stuff as many of the reviews here already stated are dismissive and rude. The 'bouncer' in his elderly beard and try hard rocker outfits make the place laughable in its attempt at being a cool place for the 'mild' ones to run into. The bouncer's smarminess and tired explanation of having multiple stages here, and why I need to be more clear in which show I'm seeing (spoiler: I was crystal clear) just shows that a Harley biker bouncer wannabe who doesn't look you in the eye is just not listening in the first place/doesn't care and needs to hang up his dreams of being a rebel at 52 read more

There's never a dull moment at Reggies! The service is amazing and the wings are even better! I always have a splendid time on the rooftop with friends. Although it's very much Rock n roll vibes upon first entering, the rooftop area plays R&B, old school hip-hop, alternative pop, etc. It's usually very diverse upstairs. Love that! I would highly recommend the salad and wings! The drinks are pretty inexpensive as well. I would certainly recommend this place as a way to start off a night out on the town! read more

I used to love this place and have family who knows the management well. They love to pick and choose who to target though. My cousin is a grown man who's been in the hardcore scene for over a decade and has always been respectful at shows. Last night someone punched a security guard in the mosh pit so they decided to point the fingers at my cousin even though he did no such thing. Five security guards took him outside to jump him like cowards. He's a married man, healthcare provider, and is eligible to be a Chicago firefighter. He didn't deserve to be treated this way. This isn't the first time I've witnessed reggies being petty. I've seen their bartenders deny drink tickets given to artists that day, pretend like certain beers aren't on tap despite them having served them the round before, and gear being purposely slammed on the ground by staff. Came here with a group of about eight people to celebrate two birthday parties and watch the U2 cover band - which was great. The place is divey but clean overall. Bartender service is bad - one guy said nothing (short guy with big beard) and just stared at you when he was ready to take your order. The girl (glasses, long curly blonde-brown hair) was horrendous. I was ordering drinks for about 6 people and when I mentioned the first drink, she abruptly walked away and poured it and told me the price but I told her I had 5 more drinks to order. First time in Chicago and I was looking for a place to go for some beers and a bit of food... my hotel suggested Reggie's. At first sight the place rocked!...Then I encounter the bartender, rudest dude ever. I asked for a sample (never heard of the beer before) he slammed it down in front of me and said... a sample on beer that's half off! Rolled his eyes and walked away. He didn't want to take my order, he ignored me while I was speaking to him, overall terrible experience. Cool looking place but should definitely lose the crappy bartender. God why is it so LOUD on the rooftop? Unnecessarily, OVERWHELMINGLY loud!!! The only thing this place has going for them is 50 cent wings on Tuesdays. The wings are very meaty and delicious, if a little bit over sauced (bbq) and a little spicier than I like (buffalo) and you have to buy them in orders of 8. The service is mediocre and disinterested and over extended. The rooftop, aside from the volume, is nice on a breezy night. The thing that kills me is that they charge for refills on soda, and for club soda! And it tastes disgusting like a rancid tap. And they charge as much for a sauce as a wing.
