Ambiance was great and pizza was solid. However, it was some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Multiple orders were forgotten about, prompting us to remind our waiter 2-3 times. A friend of mine ordered Nachos and was not served for over an hour, prompting us to, again, remind our server who told us there were nachos sitting in the kitchen for hours and nobody knew who they belonged to. We were left waiting most of the night, which made it all the more frustrating when we needed to remind our waiter of a forgotten order. It got to the point where everyone at the table was making jokes about how poor the service was and how we wouldn't see the order we put in for another two hours. Me and my party can handle some poor service and organization skills. It's the beauty of our extreme American tipping service; you just tip lower or not at all. This was unavoidable, however, because when we received our checks, there was an included 20% gratuity. This may be a standard practice of the restaurant for parties our size(9), but I wanted to bring this up for Green Street leadership to see, because I think it is a direct reason why our service was so poor. The gratuity was already included and our server did not need to worry about ensuring we had a good time, for he would be paid the same regardless. The unfortunate part for him is that we probably would have ordered more food and drinks, raising each tip even higher. And that's not to mention the nachos that were picked up by the house after the hour wait. I want to make sure I say that the rest of the tables around us, belonging to other waiters and waitresses, seemed like they were getting wonderful service. It may have just been a bad egg. I really think Green Street Local seems like a wonderful restaurant which I have heard great things about, but my experience was definitely not on par with that. I know some may look at this and say, well there's two sides to every story, but if you had asked our waiter, I think he would have agreed. He essentially said so himself. Everyone has bad days and all is forgiven, but these things don't go unnoticed! I do not want anybody fired or reprimanded or anything like that. I really just wanted to use this place to vent and to, again, bring Green Street leadership to attention on some practices that I noticed needing improvement. Automatic gratuity is a necessary evil as there are certainly patrons who like to skimp out on money that hard-working waiters/waitresses deserve, but if it is going to be enacted, please make sure your employees are not taking advantage of the customers. After a Saturday morning run by the lake, my SO and I stopped here for lunch. The first impression was great--clean and spacious, with a large bar and plenty of TVs showing college football. We were greeted right away and seated quickly. I ordered the chicken and broccoli sandwich with feta, provolone, and aioli on a fresh bun, plus fries. The mozzarella logs didn't have much a difference from normal mozzarella sticks but great cheese pull. The Cap'n Crunch calamari really surprised me. I went here to try the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap. It is not on the sandwich menu but it is offered as a "handful" under the salads. Unfortunately I didn't love it, it had cherry tomatoes, said it had a "spicy Caesar dressing", it was not spicy, it was a thinner dressing, more oily than thick, no croutons, and not enough Parmesan cheese. They have a great drink menu and it is kid friendly (crayons, kids cups, other kids). The French fries are mid. Overall the CCSW was not worth getting. Came here to watch the bball playoffs, and while I liked the sports bar atmosphere and number of TVs showing games, the seating was such that it wasn't the easiest to see the game from all seats of the booth we were put in. Made for some awkward neck craning. Top it off and the food and drinks were very meh. I had a glass of wine that looked like 1/2 a glass, though it cost $20. We had the veggie nachos which had scant salsa, guac, and cheese. It was mostly a pile of chips. I tried the fries which were soggy and tasteless. I did like the beet salad and I also tried the grain salad which was tasteless. I know I'm being harsh, but it's definitely a below average sports bar. read more

Took at least 10 minutes to be waited on after being seated at our table. The waitress was slow but friendly. Our order was prepared incorrectly. We ordered one pizza with different toppings on each half. Somehow we got two pizzas with incorrect toppings. When the food was delivered to the table, we informed them of the error. They did nothing to correct it. The waitress said she thought we ordered two pizzas. We were billed for both pizzas. We asked to speak with a manager. He was very young, smug and basically told us it is a common mistake. Never offered to compensate us for anything. He argued that we were rude. He never offered to fix anything. After much discussion he finally removed one pizza from the bill. He needs to figure out the custom service as he was arrogant and very condescending. I strongly encourage you take a pass on this establishment. I have rarely asked for compensation for mistakes when dining out. In this case the extra pizza was over $30 and had the wrong toppings on it. Unfortunately the waitress didn't get tipped as she was slow, unresponsive to our needs and did not help resolve the issue at all. Chicago has many better places to dine! read more

It was a typical veggie burger, nothing great nothing horrible- as expected at a sports bar. They had a good spread of beer available; although the first 2 I wanted were out. I think they were busier than normal given the games, so that may be a rare shortage. I was impressed that our server was able to touch our table a good amount, even with them being very busy. Drinks and everything added up quite quickly, more than I'm used to in the Wicker Park area, but understandable given it's in the West Loop area. There are TV screens covering every inch of the walls, but I appreciated that it wasn't super loud, so it wasn't overwhelming or terribly distracting. Despite it being pretty empty, service was just okay. Our server was very friendly, but she didn't come over often, which made refills hard. They have decent happy hour specials, but we had to specifically ask about them as they weren't listed on our menus. We ordered mozzarella sticks and sprouts to start - both of which were pretty good. Our pizza was not great. The happy hour price of $12, was fine, but if I had to pay the menu price of $22, I would not be happy. It was on par with a cafeteria pizza for me. I had a bit of sticker shock when I got my bill. Green Street Local charges $6 for a fountain soda! That is insane to me. I've never paid that much for a fountain drink anywhere else. The prices are cheaper at Disney World! I should have checked the menu before ordering, so that's on me. Overall, I don't think my experience was worth the price. My experience was mediocre, which is disappointing because it's conveniently located in West Loop. With so many other restaurants nearby, I don't think I'll be back. read more

I was in there to watch a specific game that had a tv guide partially obstructing the view, and I politely went up to the owner/GM to ask if he would be able to remove the guide from the screen. Before I could even finish my sentence, the guy barked at me to 'GO SIT DOWN, THANKS.' So loud, that other bar patrons turned around wondering where this was coming from. After walking back to my seat, pretty surprised by the exchange, and only feet from him, I hear him talk s*** about me to a waiter that came up to check on him, even sounding like he used a derogatory term when referring to me. For a management person in the hospitality space to treat a paying customer like that, especially given the simple request I had, is pretty shocking, and could probably benefit from additional customer service training. While our server was friendly and the food was fine, we were left thoroughly disappointed by the surprisingly unfriendly attitude of one of the employees by the bar toward our children. If you have a family, avoid this place. It is not kid friendly. While I understand our kids were running around, they were simply being kids and were abruptly and rudely told to stop. What followed was a noticeable lack of patience, complete with multiple eye rolls, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The whole interaction felt less like a request for decorum and more like an exercise in condescencation. On a Saturday at 12pm, with an empty restaurant, do better. It's 2025. In the service industry, it's important to remember that kids are, well, kids. Humble yourself and show more grace and a lot less attitude. This will unfortunately be our first and last visit. Listen, any bar that sells a glass filled with maple bacon has my COMPLETE attention! I'll get to that in a minute. My partner really loves sports bars with huge tv's, so a last minute yelp search lead us to check out this establishment. We went on a Monday night and it was pretty empty, I'm sure it being freezing cold and Covid restrictions had a lot to do with that. I actually preferred that it wasn't as busy, the bar was clean and staff were very pleasant. There are tvs all over to watch sports which was great. Shoutout to our server Oliver, he was very nice and kept small talk with us. Ok now onto the food....it was good! The food came out fresh and hot (another perk of it being a slow night) and had excellent flavor. My burger and my partner's chicken sandwich were cooked perfectly. But cmon, you know the star of the show was the glass of bacon! I was hesitant to spend $10 for bacon but they give you 1lb of thick cut bacon, seasoned with maple and pepper. Love this local bar! I've been a few times for drinks and light food, and I always come away satisfied. Their outdoor seating is cozy and peaceful on weekday evenings, and on weekends they are fun and lively. Inside they have a ton of TV screens showing lots of different sports. I recommend coming here for the weekday specials. They have great deals on draft beers and food on weekday evenings. The staff have also been very friendly. We had some beers and the chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice kick to it! And we also had the broccolini--highly recommend as a side dish or snack. It's hard to find broccolini anywhere, and they season and roast it so perfectly. They sit just South of the action on Green Street where you'll find Green Street Smoked Meats, High Five Ramen and a host of other great restaurants. Definitely check out their weekly specials on their website -- they have happy hour deal offerings which rotate depending on the day of the week. I went on Thursday so I got the GSL nachos and a Zombie Dust. The nachos are good for 2 people, and has plenty of melted cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, and guacamole. If I could give them a zero I definitely would. First, Lexi our server was inattentive. Secondly, our order was wrong. We asked for a pizza with half mushroom, green pepper (which was on the menu) and the other half sausage and green pepper. Instead we got two pizzas with no green pepper at $29 bucks a piece. We told the young man who brought us our pizza and he said he would send over the server. Didn't happen. Finally we asked her if we could talk to her. Told her the problem and she said sorry. No attempt to make things right. So we asked for the manager. He came over with an attitude. Told us that we ate it so we have to pay for it. A group of coworkers and I went to this place on a Tuesday night. It was empty when we got there at 6pm. So many TV's! I suppose this would be good if you want to watch something but seemed a little overkill. The food was amazing! I had Da Meatball sandwich and the meatballs were so good. The wings were extra crispy. The tater tot appetizer was a little disappointing because most of the dish was seared to the bottom of the pan. The reason I dropped a star is because the waitress stood at one end of the table to take our drink orders instead of going around. We had a table of 8 so the people at one end had to basically yell out our drink order. It felt like because a 20% tip was already guaranteed, she wasn't putting much effort into providing the best service. She spent more time with the group at the next table that had fewer people. Also, there was a $14 environmental fee added to our bill. I have no idea what this was supposed to cover but that is pretty high!
