I would like to thank Tom and Glenn of region oil on the awesome job they did putting in our new oil tank. They were on time and friendly. We have a classic car that had to moved out of our garage in order to get the tank out... They took every precaution to make sure the car was not damaged. Your boilerplate response to my comment is completely insensitive and not acceptable. I was promised an oil delivery today. It's 6:36 pm and no oil. I was lied to and did not request another company to deliver based on your representations so by the time I got home and found out it was too late to hire someone else. I'm now freezing in my own home. Shame on your company. You demand payment of your "gold" service plan with "emergency" response and that's an outright lie. read more

Furnace was puttering and started to smell of oil so we shut it off. Called Region and they said dur yo cold westher sometime tomorrow afternoon between 3:30-7pm. I said are you crazy we will be frozen by then and so will our pipes. After speaking to several people after I explained my wife was ill and I had just gotten out of the hospitsl they assured me a tech would be here by 8am this morning. At 8am no tech!!! So I tried calling straight for 35 minutes but just a busy signal (that's the noise you hear when the person your calling has there phone off of the hook) anyway in the interim my wife got a call from Katie that someone (Zach) would be gere sometime this morning.. I hate getting lied to, thankyou Region Energy, yes we did freeze last night it's 2° outside and 43 in the house right now. P.S. We have their Elite service plan for 24/7/365 service,have our furnace cleaned regularly and just got a delivery of oil last week.... read more

This time last year, we left Region Oil after almost 4 years of horrific customer service and ridiculous billing systems. We found a new provider and went into the winter preparing to spend money hand over fist on propane and dragged our space heaters out of storage to be prepared for when we ran out of propane (something that happened monthly with Region). Imagine how surprised we were when our new propane company was AMAZING! The first month we ran out of propane because they didn't have enough information on our usage habits. The owner himself brought us a truck full on Saturday and promised it would never happen again - and it didn't. On a good month our propane bill would be $900; in the dead of winter it typically reached $1200. On an annual basis, we were spending almost $9000 on propane. In the past year, we spent less then $2500. I am furious at myself for not changing earlier but relieved that we finally made the leap. Now, my provider comes regularly, emails me my bill and immediately processes my payment. I couldn't do that with Region because their bills were so high I had to carefully review them and contact them over the ridiculous charges they put on there (if I run out of propane because you didn't come, it takes balls to charge me for an emergency delivery). The largest bill I've received from my new provider is $700 and that included installation and rental fees for the tank (and they refunded the rental fee due to the amount of money we spend a year on propane! Amazing!). There are other providers and they are less expensive and more responsive then Region. Now, I'm on a mission to let people know - you don't have to be held hostage because your house is heated with propane. You have options and they shouldn't include Region. read more

I thought I would try a new oil service. I've been on hold for about 20 minutes simply reading all of these horrible reviews. OMG! "Someone picked up!" Nope she is transferring me to a professional to speak about pricing. I don't understand. She told me it's 150 minimum but she can't tell me how much! She said,"she's not allowed?" Back on hold. We picked a bad time to run out of fuel oil. We have auto-refill contract and it should not have happened, even though I'm sure it's been busy during this cold spell. We've been burning oil nonstop. Went 24hrs with limited heat. Fortunately, we had a gas fireplace and space heaters. I'm sure Region Oil has been slammed. Nevertheless, service manager himself came and sorted us out this evening. He was a model of customer service at the end of what was surely a long day. Heat is back on. read more

I have been a Region Energy customer for decades paid 10's of thousands of dollars in oil buys over the years, but with no service contract they would not lift a finger to help me in a time of need (not even a suggestion or a referral). I signed up on a 1 year price guarantee last October. The rep guaranteed me that I would not be on automatic delivery (so I could budget my $$ and buy when I had $$) and I would be able to call for my deliveries. He also that they would "follow the market down" if prices fell below my commitment pricing. They delivered once automatically without my consent but they did give me extended time to pay for it. They also "put me on call only" supposedly for my next delivery. Well, TWO more times they tried to deliver on their own without me calling--each time, luckily, I happened to be home when the oil truck pulled up to my house. Clearly the person who schedules the trucks does NOT look at the customers profile/account and schedules deliveries whenever he wants. Looking at other posts on this website confirm others have the same problem...consistently. Why?? Now with the oil prices coming down significantly I have been trying to figure out when to buy oil....so I call and ask what their price is (under my contract). On 8/20/15 they were $2.31 when the cod oil companies were around $2...ok, not too far off. Today, 9/9/15 I called to get a price since oil has come down even more in the past three weeks and they quote me $2.41 ! All the cod oil companies are between $1.80 and $2.00 per gallon !! I understand that there is (and should be)a difference between a cod oil company and a full service (only IF you sign up for their service contract) company but this price spread is ridiculous....60 cents a gallon!!?? Clearly Region does NOT follow the market down when oil prices drop....beware if you sign up for one of their "one year price guarantee" contracts.... You WILL pay A LOT for your oil..... read more

I have been using Region Oil for the past 6 months and I have to say that their customer service is top notch. I purchased the maintenance agreement with them and they have always been responsive to my needs. The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable and very thorough. They have come out to service our AC units this past summer and cleaned our furnace and intakes in the fall. This morning I woke up to my furnace not working. I had someone there within 2 hours and found that the motor was bad. They are coming back this afternoon to fix it. I have an infant at home, so this was great news, given the cold weather. Overpriced, . . . will rob you blind, . . . will have you sign up for a Budget Contract that they will later tell you doesn't exist, . . . Budget contract is 7 months on 5 months off, . . . but in the 5 months "off" they will deliver oil to you every other month, and charge you another $600 / delivery. Then when you call and tell them not to deliver any more to your home, they will call you continuously to ask you to sign up for their Budged Contract again, . . . you know, the one that doesn't exist. And when you stop taking their calls, they will send you a letter telling you that you are enrolled in their contract, and will start receiving auto delivery again. And when you call to tell them NOT TO DELIVER, they will keep you on hold for 20 minutes and then hang up on you. And if you ask for a supervisor, they will inform you that you sound angry, and be of no help what so ever, . . . basically will just patronize you, tell you that it is taken care of, take no further action, and you will start all over again. This company is AWFUL! And if you don't believe me, look up their F rating on BBB.com. I promise you it is there. Stay AWAY from Region Oil! Horrible Experience. I currently have a sign next to my fill line, saying NO Region Oil, DO NOT FILL MY TANK! Because if they deliver any more oil to me, I will have to find a way to put some sort of restraining order on them! So finished! read more

Awful....Absolutely awful. Had a contract with them for a few years and asked to be taken off auto delviery in Oct 2014. Had to turn away a truck in Dec 2014 in my driveway. Called and they said it was a mistake. Came home from work a few weeks ago and they delviered to my house when I wasn't home. Called up and told them I didn't want it. They responded with we don't have a pump out truck and they would sell it to me at the COD rate. I made it clear that I didn't want their product and they needed to fix this. Their answer was to have a pump out service contact me and scheudule a time to come out take back the oil. When I asked the service how much they were pumping out, they were told by Region to PUMP OUT MY ENTIRE TANK, even though they only delivered alittle over 140 GALLONS. Now, it's my responsibility to manage and FIX THEIR MISTAKE causing me to take a day off of work I would caution anyone using this company.They obviously lack in customer service and if they make a mistake, it will end up costing you, the customer, in some form or another. We have had a service contract with Region Oil for 7 years. We had a new energy efficient boiler installed in 2006. Unfortunately, it had some major issues, but Region Oil has respected our contract and came to our home as many times as it took to work out the problems. They even came with a manufacturer representative. The boiler is working fine, but the water heater failed recently. Region Oil had it replaced in 2 days and honored a warranty, so no cost to us. Well spoke with Region Energy office and we spoke at length about our recent issues with tech coming late snd frozen pipe issues. They made an amiable aggrement with us as far as plumber billing and tech charges to our satisfaction. We took into account the severe weather our area suffered from during this time period and pipe freezing issues sustained by so many homeowners during this time frame. read more

Do I even need to do 1 star?! This is the worst oil company I have ever dealt with. Signed up with them for this first time in june of 2014 on the budget plan. I've have a budget plan with multiple oil companies over the past 15 years and have NEVER owed money in the end usually had a credit. This company quotes me a monthly price of $180 a month...when i said that seems extremely low (About $100 a month less then any other plan I had) they said oh know this right. Well a few weeks ago I get a letter stating that I owe a lot more then what the budget plan will pay off in time and i should contact them to set up a new payment plan. I check my tank had over a half a take left...check all previous years with other oil companies and all of them made the last delivery in March. So i figure OK they probably wont deliver more. WRONG!!! they delivered today...April 3rd!!! they filled the tank to full!! so I call I ask them why when someone owes you over 1k do you deliver more oil. I'm told because i'm on a plan. So i tell them to mark my account to not deliver oil to me again. I'm told they cannot do that. I said if they deliver more we will not pay for it. I tell them to come syphon out what they delivered today...i'm told they can but will charge me for it!!! So I said ok well we will turn off the heat so the tank stays full so if they come to deliver more they will not be able to. Then I'm told i'll be charged and early termination fee!!! WHAT??!?!?!??! ARE THEY KIDDING ME!!!. They screw up on the budget plan amount even tho I said it sounded too low...now i owe them all this money that they want to pay by June!!! I tell them to stop delivering cause i can't afford it and they refuse!!!! STAY AWAY FORM THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY SCREW YOU AND RIP YOU OFF!!!!!! Region Energy.....YOU SUCK!!!!! I have been extremely dissatisfied with their oil delivery service. We were told their delivery service is worry free, but on numerous occasions, we were running out of oil, so we had to call them. Their response time is 3-5 days,, so you are out of luck if your oil goes empty. When I called back, ( I was just about empty), their response; they deliver oil to prioritize the one's who are already empty. If this is the case and they are worry free, then why are so many customers empty? I got my oil delivered on the 5th day with much worrying and a cold house because I needed to conserve oil. The next time, we had to call again before we got too low on oil, (so as not to be in the same predicament as the last time) I was charged way over the comparable price. I have another property in the area that I use another oil company for heating oil for on a variable plan, and their rate was 50 cents cheaper per gallon, just two days later. The reason why we use Region oil at this property is because the previous owner used their service, so we thought it would be convenient. It has been nothing but a headache with Region. The other posts are correct. They do deliver oil in the dead of summer when you don't need it. I don't mind that, because the price of oil is usually lower then. But when you need oil in the dead of winter, they are unreliable. Thank you for this platform to allow me to express my my displeasure with Region. This company treats COD clients like the bottom of the barrel pay up front 4 days in advance and your delivery falls to the bottom of the delivery list and off each and every day. I plan on moving my account next year and paying in advance for a full tank. Piss poor customer service. read more

Where should I start? Furnace in the house when we bought it several years old but two service men said it had several years of life. Worked great. Region oil set up their yearly maintenance visit then Region Oil's tech (on the GOLD contract) broke the furnace. Within 30 mins they were on the phone (unsolicited) offering to sell me a new furnace. Ummm you broke it! Either fix it or replace it, that is what contracts are for! No they didn't do that, had to pay for the new furnace myself (I did NOT have Region Oil install it). Last year their delivery guy said my driveway "looked icy" even though it had been plowed and salted and UPS had no trouble getting up it so they didn't deliver oil until the tank ran dry then charged me a MINT for an emergency delivery. This year they said the driveway was "untouched" even though again it had been plowed and salted, 3 days of calling for delivery (on an auto delivery contract and yet no delivery since MAY, it's JANUARY!) and now again the tank is dry. This is how they treat a GOOD customer! (two houses, bills paid the day they are received) STAY AWAY! We're setting up a contract with another company ASAP. read more
