I've been using Woolley for many years. For furnace installation and maintenance and repair. No matter the situation or weather they are always there. I've used them also for plumbing issues too. Incompetent and dangerous but nice people. Is Wooley going out of business? They sent harrassing letter after silence for 5 years since destroying my system and flooding my hoouse. They should not do oil gas conversion: a. Never finished 1. We'll come back and finish when April Air replacement comes in - that was 4years ago 2. Left oil tanks, uninspected, with residue oil in them on driveway b. they flooded my basement with incomplete and broken work damage $Thousands c.. Upside down install? System kept failing, PSEG examined and said install was upside down, they opened installation page to proper and left for Wooley d. everytime they left, something else was broken e. Nice people did service, they just did everything wrong, then disappeared f. billing office makes no sense - How did they not know they disappeared? And never finished? Ed P. worked thoroughly to get our oil-powered burner back to tip-top shape, showing us the soot-covered exhaust pipe leading into the chimney and taking care to vacuum it out so that it vented properly. Very cool. Glad to know we won't freeze overnight for yet another winter! Previous review from 2015: Ed arrived early and went right to work on our oil-fired boiler, which had stopped working sometime during the night. Apparently, the fuel line that feeds the oil into the combustion chamber had clogged. Ed was thorough, checking that each part of the boiler was working before putting everything back together and even vacuuming the bit of dust and rust that came off our crusty boiler. Best of all, it was included in our Gold Plan, as part of the annual boiler maintenance we had done. Thanks! read more

We have been loyal Reel Strong customers for 20 years and now with this merger, the customer experience has no place in its strategic priorities. It's all about driving revenue at the expense of the customer even if that means unethical behaviors and business practices. Buyer beware with these people and this company. Thank goodness there is ample competition in this space and we have the ability to seek higher caliber professionals and a firm that believes in treating its customers fairly, ethically and in good faith. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!! The service provided was okay. In my opinion the part prices are extremely overpriced. Wooley sold me a Beckett 7505 Primary Control part for $360. When I called the Beckett Corp. they said the suggested retail price is $115.16 for that part. After inflating the price more than 3 times Wooley offers a 15% discount. (Price was still $306) When I caught them their manager was willing to lower the price to $115.16. We experienced one of the pleasures of home ownership when we woke on Sunday to discover our basement had flooded because of a burst hot water heater. I immediately contacted Woolley Home, who had installed it many years ago, and was told that Ed would stop by to see what he could do. He was great. He arrived on time, hooked up a hose to syphon off as much water from the tank as possible and turned off the gas. He came back on Monday and prepared the tank for replacements. He drained the rest of the water, even sopping up the excess water just sitting in the tray at the bottom so when they would move it out of the basement, it wouldn't cause more of a mess. Ed is very professional and understanding when I asked all my questions. I look forward to getting our new hot water heater and experiencing the great service from Woolley Home. read more

Definitely ask for Art if you work with them, very good guy. ----*----* Horrible customer service. Did routine work on our boiler and furnace. On the same day the boiler started leaking and the furnace not working. The service manager argued it wasn't their fault. Tried to pin it on our nest system which has been working since it was installed. And told us we would have to pay for more service. Awful. read more

I called on Monday morning for furnace service, I didn't get a call back until Wednesday 4:30. I missed Todd's call so I called right back (1min.) and went to his voicemail. I left message Wed., Thurs and Friday but no return call. What horrible service. Don't bother here! I called Korn Plumbing today, Friday and they will be here tomorrow morning. 90 years? I have had Woolley now for a few years on an annual service contract for my home heating and cooling service needs. They are reliable and knowledgeable. Craig M. has come the last few times. He is a stand-up guy, who always gives straight answers and knows how to do his job. I had Woolley back when my burner was oil. I had it removed and put in natural gas, and had my 20 year old AC unit replaced a couple years ago. Craig knows both units well and knows how to keep them running great. This is a good local company that does what it says it will do. read more

Woolley replaced our steam boiler and hot water heater which was not easy. They were my second estimate and we were very glad we chose them. They did an amazing job, along with balancing our radiators. Everything was done in a timely fashion, and everyone was professional. They always responded to my inquiries promptly. Called about a backed up pipe in the basement that overflowed the shower and the toilet. Let them know exactly what they were walking into. Our nanny was here as we were working. Apparently he barely looked at it and said "I can't handle this today". Then said their equipment to do this kind of job was broken. He then referred another service that was extremely helpful and fixed the problem that same day within an hour. So you get 2 stars for the referral. read more

Normally I don't write negative reviews about businesses online but I feel this is necessary. Do not use Woolley Home Solutions in Union New Jersey. They do not care about their customers and will screw you by overcharging parts and charging you a, "service fee" to have someone come look at it. They also will refuse to let you buy the part you want and force you to buy a poor-quality overpriced part in which they pocket 77% of the price of said part. The story: I called because I was having a problem with my thermostat. I said on the phone it definitely needed to be replaced. They told me, "we have to send a service tech out and he will quote you on the price, the cost of the part may not be covered under your $250 (non-mandatory) Gold Plan." Which I said okay, are thermostats covered?" And they said, "The tech will let you know." So.... that's where the problems started 1. The service tech never showed up on Tuesday morning. It wasn't until Thursday that he even came. 2. He told me that the thermostat would need to be replaced. (Obviously. That's what I told the lady on the phone). But then he said, "I'll have to charge you $76 for coming out today. And $176 for the Honeywell 5000 thermostat." $255 in total. 3. Now mind you, I already pay $250 a year for their "Gold plan" which covers repairs of 70 parts. This seemed like a good deal for a boiler because it covers one cleaning which I usually use each year. However it does not mention what parts it covers on their website, and they won't tell you on the phone before they send out a tech. So they force you to pay $76 for a "driving fee" when the parts are not covered. Then they say, "oh we won't charge you if the part is covered." But here is the rub- How the hell am I supposed to know when a part is covered or not if they can't look it up before the tech shows up? They trick you so member or not you are forced to pay for this "service fee." 3. So I said, "Okay well I see that the thermostat on the Honeywell website is $40. Can I buy the thermostat I want and have you come back to install it? I was thinking for that price I'd buy a nest thermostat or something. I'll pay for installation and your driver's fee." The service tech manager says, "No. If you don't want us to install the thermostat now with the parts we have in the truck we will charge you $76 for just looking at it and we will not return to install the thermostat that you buy, because that's not how we make money and we have a business to run." So they intentionally put me in a hard spot. Their office is literally 3 blocks from mine and they charged me $76 just to LOOK at the broken thermostat even though I'm a member of their gold plan. I tried to save them money by telling them the problem before-hand and then they basically spit on my cupcake and tell me it is frosting by saying the thermostat is $176.00. When really the cheap POS thermostat is actually $40. They are collecting $136 on the part (77% of the cost of the part). So for literally a 10 minute job in which I live only a few blocks away from the office they are going to charge A TOTAL OF $215.00 just to install a cruddy thermostat + $40 (cost of thermostat). = $255.00 After this year, once my gold plan has expired, I DEFINITELY will be taking my business somewhere else. It's a shame because all I wanted was a better thermostat for that price but they screwed me. With my hands tied, I had no choice but to use their service because they said they will charge me $76 if I don't do anything. They charged me, a loyal customer and member of their gold plan, $76 to tell me something I already knew. So far this year I've paid over $500 for a thermostat and for them to clean my boiler. Not including oil prices. Its companies like this, who take advantage of people, (especially their loyal members!) that make me sick. read more

Horrible customer service. I call up with no contract to establish a contract and I'm told it will take a couple of days. Granted I'm having problems with my furnace and I need someone to look at it. These days nobody will service your oil furnace unless you have a contract with the oil provide...nice. Anyways, I am desperate with no heat in the house for a couple of days already since I lost it over the weekend. I call up and I'm told basically too bad, you can't just establish a contract to get your furnace serviced. Ha, if only they knew how much oil I go through every winter due to lack of insulation and bad radiators, they would be rolling in it. Our heater went out the day before forecasts of frigid single degree weather. The previous owner used Woolley, but I had chosen not to buy Heating Oil from them earlier in the year as part of a contract that would lock me in for a year. My reason at the time was that their price was 20% above the area pricing, which they acknowledged at the time, but chose not to adjust. When I called for service, I was told that since I did not have a fuel contract they would absolutely not send someone to fix the unit. I pointed out the weather conditions and the fact that this was a family home, but they steadfastly refused to service unless I had previously committed to the fuel contract. The unit manufacturer was very upset (Energy Kinetics) as they said they do not support this policy in any way among their dealers. The manufacturer then referred me to another vendor that quickly had a repairman out and my house was soon warm again. I am in the process of contacting NJ Dept of Consumer Affairs regarding this incident. read more
