Just had my hair butchered by their trainee (I'm assuming). Partially my fault for walking in and expecting decent service. From the knicks to the inability to use a mirror. Her cuts were made with zero confidence which left me anxious during the entire process. Not to mention the price of 40+ for shampoo, cut, and styling. I certainly got a haircut but no shampoo and the styling looks just as bad as the experience was. The other hairstylists look capable but I would not go back there ever again. I was in town for a corporate event and decided to give this place a try. The girl at the front desk was SUPER sweet and was able to work with me to accommodate getting me and my friend in for some styles for our big night. The salon is conveniently located in the mall, so you can get your hair done, do last minute shopping, and have your makeup done all in the same place. I had my hair done by Alissa and she was amazing. She listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered it fiercely! Aside from being good at what she does, she was a great conversationist. "The girls love the curls" was a motto I ran with for a good while as I grew my hair out into wavy greatness. I certainly loved the attention, but I made a decision that I probably needed to go with something a little more conservative for my law firm job. Unfortunately, I didn't come to that decision until about 8:15 on a Saturday night. After checking my sources, I found out that both the mall and Regis were open until 10. "You have time for a cut?" I asked reluctantly of the bald tatted up man sitting at the front. "No I'm so busy, can't your tell?" he said jokingly in his feminine voice before having me take a seat at his station. He sounded delighted that he had a very full head of hair to work with and had only my directions, "Make it look gook for the office and at night." What took place next was a "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" hair transformation that lasted almost two hours. Techniques like razor cutting were put together over conversation with Gabriel as I stared at a blurred mirror (I'm blind as a bat without my glasses). After my shampoo, I put my glasses on and saw absolute greatness. I think it is the first time that I have ever looked in a mirror and said "Wow, that is an incredible haircut!" The hairstyle was a hit in the office and at the street. My friend's girl told me out at the bar, "it makes you look rich!" Bam. I knew that Gabriel deserved visit two, and I went back a few days before the Yelp event at Sambuca. I walked out with another out-of-the-magazine miracle style, and people are still taking notice. Gabriel is the on-premise hair guru, and both of my cuts were interruped as Gabe helped the other employees with their own aircuts they were working on. I wouldn't recommend visiting if he isn't there. The -1 star is for the $3 upcharge I got for conditioner on the second visit, which brought my cut and shampoo charge up from $28 to $31. Gabe, you were going to get the whole $40 I had in my pocket! I Maybe next time he'll know that he's going to get the hookup anyway and won't try to push the upcharges and products that corporate Regis urges their employees to move. I'm really hoping my hair grows out quickly, just so I can go back for another relaxing, beautiful haircut from these guys. I didn't know what to expect from a "mall salon" but I was absolutely delighted with the amazing service I received! Joe, the salon manager, spent 15 minutes on the hair wash, with plenty of time spent on a relaxing head massage that nearly had me falling asleep. The hair cut itself was great- I love it and Joe seemed to know exactly what would work without me having to do loads of research. Joe also deserves kudos for the way he spoke of his fellow employees. When I asked him if he was the salon manager, he said he was but that all the employees are great and do their job well. He spoke so highly of his job and his coworkers, and I think that speaks highly of the salon as a whole. No products were pushed on me. In fact, when I mentioned wanting to try dying my hair only because I felt a need to try it, Joe commented that I really don't need to, "because your hair looks like it has $300 highlights already." He could've just encouraged me to spend more money with them, but he seemed to have my best interests at heart. He even spent a few minutes teaching me how to style my hair. I feel that Joe went above and beyond, even on an early Friday morning, for some unknown, admittedly-shabbily-dressed customer like myself. read more

I debated between 2 and 3 stars. The young woman cutting my hair was very friendly, but didn't seem to understand long layers or layering in general. I ended up with two tiers of hair. Not great. The price was good though and truth be told, it was the main reason I went there in the first place. I might go again for a simple trim but not for anything more complicated. Had a really good experience! A gentlemen named Michael did my hair. I got a simple trim and a deep conditioning treatment. Michael was really friendly. The atmosphere of the salon seemed fun. Everyone seemed happy or looked Like they were enjoying themselves. It was timely haircut but definitely did not feel Rushed. Most importantly the salon was very organized and cleanly. Eh. This review is long overdue. I don't know if I like this place or not. I definitely don't love it, and I am not close to hating it but my experiences here have never been that great. Last two times I have been here a stylist has managed to mess up my hair and cut it uneven, how does that even happen? Aren't you trained to cut someone's hair evenly? Not only that but both times I've awkwardly sat in silence while my stylist talks to another employee who is cutting someone else's hair. Back on the topic of uneven hair, both times of said tragic events the manager has been apologetic and has offered to have someone else (even himself) fix his employee's mistake. I will never visit this salon again. I have never been treated so poorly. Thier customer experience is not deserving of the one star represented here. Employee Salma yelled at me - repeatedly and loudly. Tracy defended her. Brenda avoided the entire exchange. For your own sanity go ANYWHERE else. I was there 2 hours and 48 minutes for partial highlights on shoulder length hair -- 20 foils. NO CUT. NO STYLING. Just the highlights. Salma disappeared for a long, long time after my timer went off (which she acknowledged). Who knows what she was doing? And after all of that I still need a haircut because I left there in tears. I've moved around my entire life and always had to find a new hairstylist (a scary adventure sometimes). When I moved to Dallas I went to several local shops and thought they were OK, but about a year ago I started going to Gabe.... He changed the way I think about my hair. I just got back from the salon, and for the first time in my life I have brown hair and I absolutely love it. The color is fun and the cut is great. He took my VERY thick, unmanagable hair and made it into something goregous, that not only looks great when I walked out of the salon but is easy for me to manage and style. I'd give this no stars if I could. Stylist was the worst. Obviously had no idea how to cut hair. Looks like she put a bowl on my head, held it crooked and started to hack away. Every time I'd try to correct what she was doing, her answer was to cut off more hair. What should have been a heavily layered neck length style is nearly a buzzcut in back, hardly cut at all on one side, and missing random chunks of hair in the front. When I said it looked nothing like what I wanted, her response was "it's pretty close". Really? In what alternate universe? For starters, The woman who did my hair was completely unsure of the hairstyle I wanted to originally go with. She mumbled some words of uncertainty to herself and later asked a coworker for help. I picked a different hairstyle I felt was more in her comfort zone. However, when she was blowdrying my hair, the heat was so close to my scalp it hurt and when I let her know this she did not apologize. There was no sympathy, no confidence, no experience. I love coming here and seeing Shane! He never disappoints me when he does my hair. I let him do basically whatever to it and it always comes out great and I get so many compliments on my hair! When I'm unsure about something and I ask him and he makes a better suggestion and actually converses about the style. I just love going to him and I'll always be his client! I went to this place after going to Toni & Guy and was told a haircut would cost me almost 100.00$ .....YEAH RIGHT!!! So this place Regis was also in the mall and decided I would stop in and ask how much. I was told 46.00$ which is quite a lot less than 100.00$. There was a young woman Alissa. At the time she was doing a client but, the wait was only 30 minutes. So when it comes my turn I explain that I have very very thick long hair and I have had surgery on my right arm. I explain to her that it causes me pain to brush my hair. And when I don't brush it ,the back of my hair looks like a bird's nest. So I wanted to go short...Not boy short but short enough so brushing my hair wasn't so painful. The woman was very understanding and pleasant. She actually made cutting 75% of my hair off not as bad as it could have been at a Supercuts or a beauty school. When she was finished. I felt 20 pounds lighter and, my hair looked and felt 150% better, AND....The quote of 46.00$ was 36.00$!!! Well needless to say I took the extra 10.00$ and gave it to Alissa for a tip....From now on I will not only be going to her when I need a haircut....BUT I will be referring all my friends, family, and anyone else needing a haircut to her. Decent hair cut NOT WORTH THE PAIN and CUTS on the back of my neck by Brandie, the stylist. Now while my cut was good, but in the end NOT what envisioned. This is partly due to me not being more clear of my intention of what I wanted even thou I had photos of what I was looking for but it still wasn't what I wanted in the end. Brandie gave me a good hair cut however she was really really really over the top rough. She admitted she has been told she is harsh on her customers, that it's her style and that she does to get you in cut and get you out fast. Now while that is considerate by her, well shit I'm not a rag doll! My neck is burning from all the cuts the clippers gave me. I have a line going from ear to ear on the lower back of my head near my neck. It's swollen up and you can definitely tell from a far. Oh did I mention it burns!!!! I doubt if I go back and make a complaint it will get me anything yet alone a refund so best I can do is share my experience. NOT WORTH the $46 plus a $10 tip I paid for and $20 of hair product. Maybe had she not jacked up my neck so bad it would be a different story but not today. It is what it is. She cut into my skin several times with the clippers. I was in the salon about 2 weeks ago. My experience was not very pleasant. The ladies I booked my appointment with were very nice & friendly. The man that did my hair, Michael, was not. I wanted a simple wash & style. He spoke maybe 3 sentences to me. He seemed rude, standoffish, & like he didn't want to be there at all. He washed my hair, blow dried it, then didn't even style my hair. He had another man style (beach waves) my hair for him. The other man suggested for him to watch him style my hair then try it himself & he refused saying he didn't want to. I'm not sure if he was having an off day, if he didn't care for his job, or if he was just always rude in general. The hair cut for men was awful! The stylist could not blend the sides at all and the top was so uneven. She could not speak well so trying to explain to her what was going on was useless. I had an appointment last week and I got there early. 10 minutes after my set appointment, I had to ask one of the girls where my stylist was since I was ignored since the moment I walked in and I did not see my stylist. The girl went to check and came and told me very unapologetically that they had tried to reach her but "no one has heard from her" and that I could either continue to wait or reschedule. I decided to leave 5 minutes later without rescheduling. WHY would I wait after hearing that no one has heard from her. Its now 5 days later and no one ever reached out to me. I will admit that this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with this salon. Normally I love Regis Salon, but I highly wouldn't recommend this location. I am not sure if I will go back to Regis Salon because of this experience. I went to the Northpark Location, and Sandra was my stylist and she was not great. Hardly spoke a word to me, and when she did it was like facing an interrogation squad. It cost $70 dollars, for a simple trim and some bangs which were done a bit crooked. And layered my hair, which I didn't want. She didn't seem interested in what I wanted for my hair and left it a bit frizzy. And charged me twice more than what they normally charge. She was always talking to other stylists and it was so frustrating. Never had such a bad experience with a hair cut before. Yeah I won't ever come to this location ever again. read more

Every stylist I've had has been good (but not extraordinary), talkative, friendly, etc. No one ever tries to push me too hard for products (I know most of the time, cosmetologists get kickbacks from selling products, so it makes sense), and I always end up really liking my haircut. Gabe is the hair whisperer. I have been going to him for the last 4 or 5 years and my hair has never been this healthy. Even with multiple color changes - From super blonde to red to dark. Terrible. The guy that cut my hair barely said a word to me the whole 3 hours I was there. The haircut I got was good but that's about the only good thing. I went in for highlights. When he was washing my hair he sprayed me in the face, got shampoo all over my forehead and neck, never once wiped it off so I had a stain on my forehead that I couldn't get off. The highlights look terrible and look like I have white streaks in my hair, he never even blended them in. At the end of my appointment they were closing the store and a different stylist came up to me and asked if I wouldn't mind paying out and I said that's fine so he continued to ask me in front of my stylist if I would like to leave a tip. I really needed a haircut. So I was delighted to hear when I called hours before that they "had multiple openings." I go in and there's two people getting their hair done. I'm greeted by the receptionist. I tell her I have an appointment at 7:45. She says she will tell her that I am here. I sit down alone. There's no one else waiting. 2 mins later another person arrives to get their hair cut and she sits down after talking to the receptionist. When the stylist is finally available the woman that came in after me gets up and walks over to the woman and asks if she's ready. She tells her yes and then the same stylist, Brenda, walks over to me and says "hey I'm sorry some how I was triple booked. (Even though hours before I called and the receptionist said they had MULTIPLE OPENINGS) Did you mind waiting either 30 mins or if you want you can come back tomorrow?" I told her I would wait because I desperately needed this hair cut. She said she would call. She didn't call and they were closing in 15 mins so I head up there. She's still doing the previous persons hair. I wait for 5 mins. They are closing at 9 it's now 8:55. So here I am having to tell the receptionist to just forget it. She asks are you sure? Um yes you close in 5 mins so???? She laughs and says okay. Seriously. So unprofessional. How does this even happen??? read more

Worst haircut experience I've ever had. The person didn't listen to me at all -- when I said that I just wanted a trim and didn't like layers what did he do? Cut me a layer about 2 inches shorter than the rest of my hair. Also I ended up coming out with an inverted bob -- longer in the front and shorter (and layered in the back) even though I didn't ask for that. This was an AWFUL experience.
