I have been a patient at Hands For Living for 2 years now with multiple surgeries to my hand. All the staff have been incredibly compassionate, professional, timely and friendly. Although each staff has been excellent in my treatment, my favorite caregiver has been Vanessa. She is engaging and lively and competent. Thank you again Vanessa for your guidance in my healing. The clinic is clean and spacious. They interface with my hand surgeon for any updates to my treatment. They also speak Spanish for those clients who do. I wish I could give them 10 stars! I have a…read moreneurological disorder that leaves the muscles in my hands weak, and I have a tremor that makes fine-motor work difficult. The person who answered the phone didn't know if they worked with hand tremors or neurological disabilities involving the hands. No problem. I don't expect everyone at a job to know everything, especially in the medical field. The problem was her attitude. She sounded almost surprised that I was asking the question. She acted blown away that someone would call into an occupational therapist's office that focused on hands with a HAND-focused nerve problem. She almost sounded disgusted. When I asked if she had any recommendations for other clinics, all she would tell me is that "I wouldn't even know where to begin to figure that out." Then she wished me a good day and hung up. For a medical clinic that treats people with debilitating medical conditions, the lack of sensitivity when communicating with a potential client was astounding. It's hard enough to find compassion in the medical field, particularly as a woman, but the least they could do is have a little more tact.

Not much time window since that's on 1/2/19. Ongoing issues? Adults are shown the door with yellow pages. Pediatric care continues at other clinics. Is that age discrimination? Being cast aside mid treatment for neuropathy makes doubt the efficacy and necessity of said "therapy". Thanks Mosaic, it was good, but you've changed. Bad management and greed is a bad recipe for success.

Here's the deal…read more I'm an active guy who gets myself into a lot of trouble. I worked full time hours at an amazing (and busy) cafe in Kirkland and it got my neck into all sorts of weird because I'm tall and the counters in the cafe, well, they weren't. I was hesitant to reach out to any physical therapy because I had previous experience with PT back in Boise that was less than sweet. But my neck pain reached a point where I needed to try. By chance, Mosaic was within walking distance of my apartment. It blew my mind that PT could be what Mosaic was. The staff was overtly friendly and, most importantly, invested in dynamic treatment that involved exactly what and how I was feeling each day. And they were kind enough to laugh at all my bad jokes, which is a huge plus. I receive treatment for my neck for about three months at which time I'm discharged, as it were. I have exercises and recommendations to move forward with instead of just being "done" and "good luck!" So, then my active guy trouble-making hits its stride in late July, 2016, when I dislocate my shoulder. I'm out of town when it occurs, go to the local hospital, and that next morning, I call Mosaic to schedule rehabilitation. They get me an appointment the same week, they test my full range of motion, and they welcome me back like it's a family reunion. Not kidding. The community at Mosaic is absurdly awesome. Any business could learn something from this place when it comes to genuine service. Last week, I went and played disc golf again without a problem. I started a bodyweight exercise program and due to the excellent care, my shoulder feels great. I'm still doing cuff and strength exercises a few times a week, exercises that were given to me as continued therapy after I was discharged. And then there's Tasha. Tasha might be the best PT in the Pacific Northwest. She's damn good at what she does and there was never a moment in either of my PT schedules to Mosaic that I felt uncomfortable or as though I was liable for re-injury. On one of my last PT sessions, knowing that one of my goals was to throw an ultimate disc without trouble, she brought a disc into the office and we practice motion with different throws. THAT is personalized care and that shows class and dedication. Now, if you've made it this far, you might be thinking "okay guy, you seem biased. how much are they paying you." Quite the opposite my friend. I paid THEM to laugh at my bad jokes. But, in fairness, I should list some downsides to Mosaic. I think that's only fair. So, here are the downsides to Mosaic: 1. They are flexible and work with your schedule. (If only they would cancel other people's appointments for me. Sheesh) 2. They always smile. (I mean come on, smiling again? It's Monday) 3. They won't schedule you for more sessions than you need. (Seriously? I love paying way more money than I need to. Jerks) 4. They forced me to bring in coffee. (Well, I mean, it may be more like I volunteered to bring in coffee, but still, what the hell) So I hope that balanced it out for you. If it didn't, and it's still skewed way in favor of working with this amazing family and community at Mosaic, well, good. You may want to go be reckless like me just so you can experience what I'm talking about. Disclaimer: Don't be reckless.

My PT just started working with someone new right beside me, when a PT assistant came up and told me to do a stretch I had already done earlier. Today received 40 mins of attention. Received a nice 5 min or so massage to loosen sore area. Then 4 exercises (ones prescribed to do at home) and 1 stretch. And that was it! Reading through BBB I am scared to see the billing experience I find reported on BBB. I called after my last appointment to cancel all future appointments. And today, if I could refuse payment, I would. Today was absolutely worthless. Giving 1 star but honestly less. They are nice people. But this is not the care I expect.

Nithya's response fails to address the core complaints and misrepresents her conduct. To recap: 1) The contract is deceitful, in that it references a Vacation Policy that does not in effect exist. 2) Nithya knew of our challenge in meeting a 2x/week schedule, but locked us in to that commitment anyway. To be clear, we had discussed dropping back to 1x/week if schedule was too challenging. Secondly, we'd discussed the challenge of paying for 2x/week out of pocket. It was our mistake for not formally issuing a scheduling advisory to Nithya, but we assumed falsely that saying we would be traveling or that our kid would be at summer camp would be sufficient. It would be a generally decent thing to do to advise someone you are going to bill them $2000+ for a month of missed appointments especially after hearing they are concerned about the schedule and the out of pocket expense. Or, one can choose to hide behind a poorly worded contract. 3) When we argued with Nithya about the steep fees, she suggested that a couple of the sessions could be made up at no additional cost. We had fit in 2 appointments in July/Aug. But Nithya ultimately billed us for all sessions, with late fees, and threatened us with collections when we refused initial payment. 4) Last and most importantly, our son is the one who gets the short end of the stick. Nithya's first response when we argued that we thought the contract was unfair was to drop us as clients. I suppose if there is a waiting list of concerned parents you turn to the next easy mark and drop the child whose parents disagree with your policies. 5) In ending the relationship, we requested that Nithya summarize the treatment our son had received--methods, outcomes, progress areas and areas of concern--in order to take that information to another therapist. Similarly, we asked Nithya for a list of recommended academic accommodations for our son, who is starting at a new school. Nithya, through 2 weeks of silence, has refused both requests. For the nearly $10000 spent, we have no information to take to another therapist, and we're underway at a new school without guidance. That fact in and of itself speaks to the priorities here.

We will be forever grateful that she did. She worked one-on-one with Tutu in fun weekly sessions, whereby opening a whole new world of communication for her.
