What made this experience truly shocking was the therapist, Jasmine, who made zero effort to comfort my child. Instead of offering any assistance, she sat with a stern, detached expression, leaving me and my mother to frantically try and calm him down on our own. We know that music usually helps soothe my toddler, so we played some children's songs at a reasonable volume in a room with closed doors. To our surprise, Jasmine asked us to turn it off without giving any reason, adding to the tension rather than alleviating it. Throughout the entire session, she showed no patience or empathy, merely sitting back and watching as my son cried. What truly drove us to leave was when my son got frightened by the watch she was wearing. I politely asked if she could pull her sleeve down just a little (which is about 1cm from the watch) to cover it, hoping it might help ease his fear. She refused, saying: "No, I'm just going to leave it here as is. I always wear it, and I'm just going to leave it here." At that moment, I realized that with her attitude and approach, there was no chance of making meaningful progress in this session. We left with my son still upset, and I shared my concerns with the clinic staff. To their credit, the staff and managers listened to my feedback attentively, which I do appreciate. However, the therapy experience itself was appallingly poor. I would not recommend this therapist to anyone, and I sincerely hope no other child or parent has to endure such a distressing and unprofessional session.

She is open to feedback and direction from outside tutors and IEP goals to design specific learning objectives for a child with dyslexia. Communication with the clinic, front desk, billing and office manager unfortunately, is lacking. The owner is not an open nor, honest person and does not take time to understand the truth of a situation. *Beware: If you take a two week family trip in the summer and your clinician also takes a trip the following two weeks, you'll be accused of cancelling half of your scheduled appointments for the summer and then given a warning of violating an attendance contract, (even though majority of these appointments were re-scheduled). Later, this will be used against you when your child is sick with a fever and has to cancel last minute. It really is a bummer to be taken off the schedule because of incomplete records and lack of communication. Other things to know: -The office staff is not welcoming as you enter the clinic, nor do they let you know if your clinician is coming soon or not. -You are responsible for tracking your co-pay payments and being sure to pay them. This is tricking if another caregiver has to bring the child to their appointment because the office does not keep a credit card on file at the clinic. -Therapists discuss private therapy and decisions in the waiting area with caregivers, which is overwhelming and crowded. I have heard many private discussions in that waiting room due to this model of communication. Overall, it's a decent place to receive therapy services and they do have a fabulous swing area. Don't make the same mistake I did, be mindful of your communication with the clinic. Be sure to be clear about their expectations for scheduling. Don't assume anything, never run a few minutes late and don't get sick or you'll be on their list.

Shelly developed a relationship with our son, and broke down her work into building blocks. Each session was built on the session before and over time we began to see great progress. Shelly gave us work to do at home, which is really useful when you are meeting only once or twice a week. We were also appreciative of her communicating our son's progress and connecting with his daycare to share books and best practices. What I liked most was how Shelly came to learn our son's interests and incorporated them into the lessons. I would recommend her to others without hesitation.

We had to stop therapy because of co-vid (my son is too young to sit for tele-health, though we gave it a good college try!), but we will return when we can. She left us with a wealth of advice and resources, and my son went from saying 40 words (mostly approximations), to now having a word for everything in his life, and connecting 2-4 words together. We were very fortunate to connect with Shelly.

Nithya's response fails to address the core complaints and misrepresents her conduct. To recap: 1) The contract is deceitful, in that it references a Vacation Policy that does not in effect exist. 2) Nithya knew of our challenge in meeting a 2x/week schedule, but locked us in to that commitment anyway. To be clear, we had discussed dropping back to 1x/week if schedule was too challenging. Secondly, we'd discussed the challenge of paying for 2x/week out of pocket. It was our mistake for not formally issuing a scheduling advisory to Nithya, but we assumed falsely that saying we would be traveling or that our kid would be at summer camp would be sufficient. It would be a generally decent thing to do to advise someone you are going to bill them $2000+ for a month of missed appointments especially after hearing they are concerned about the schedule and the out of pocket expense. Or, one can choose to hide behind a poorly worded contract. 3) When we argued with Nithya about the steep fees, she suggested that a couple of the sessions could be made up at no additional cost. We had fit in 2 appointments in July/Aug. But Nithya ultimately billed us for all sessions, with late fees, and threatened us with collections when we refused initial payment. 4) Last and most importantly, our son is the one who gets the short end of the stick. Nithya's first response when we argued that we thought the contract was unfair was to drop us as clients. I suppose if there is a waiting list of concerned parents you turn to the next easy mark and drop the child whose parents disagree with your policies. 5) In ending the relationship, we requested that Nithya summarize the treatment our son had received--methods, outcomes, progress areas and areas of concern--in order to take that information to another therapist. Similarly, we asked Nithya for a list of recommended academic accommodations for our son, who is starting at a new school. Nithya, through 2 weeks of silence, has refused both requests. For the nearly $10000 spent, we have no information to take to another therapist, and we're underway at a new school without guidance. That fact in and of itself speaks to the priorities here.

Week by week we saw Torring's world change; a whole new pathway of expression opened before her. All the buttons worked, as I could tell from the left side, but no sound came out on the right. Normally, I'd just call them Monday. But this is a Monday when I am leaving for a 3-week international trip. In desperation, I send an email to the clinic. Within a few hours, Kirsten calls me and 20 minutes later, I'm in the office on a Saturday and she replaces a faulty wire. Plus, she gives me backups to take with me on my travels. This above-and-beyond support typifies my experience over many years. With people like Kirsten and Dr. Limb, who listens and is a miracle worker at finding just the right adjustment to make my hearing aids be their most effective, I rely on their whole team. The therapist had to cancel due to illness and we were not notified in advance, we showed up only to find out then that our session was canceled, no rescheduling or any sort of other compensation was offered, then when we needed to cancel an appointment they took it as we were terminating services and took us off the schedule completely. Do not recommend this place. No accountability for mistakes and no sort of rescheduling or any other type of solutions offered.
