Reid's Appliances was such a great find for appliances! Our refrigerator went out a week before our children and grandchildren were coming. I tried all the big name stores thinking I would be able to have a new refrigerator in time. Because I needed a black refrigerator to match the other appliances in our home, the eariliest they could have a new appliance was too late by 2 weeks. So, I checked appliance stores near me and that is when I discovered Reid's. It was 4th of July weekend, so first thing Monday, I reached out and spoke with Maria. Maira was fantastic and a great help! They did not have a black refrigerator, however, they did have a dark green that I could make work. So I bought the refrigerator and It was delivered Friday. Unfortunatley the refrigerator did not work properly and never cooled down and the freezer never produced any ice. So, Saturday I contacted Reid's and spoke with Omar the manager form Santa Barbara store. Omar and Maria worked with the owner and together they all came up with the PERFECT solution. They offered to come back out to pick up the refrigerator and deliver a loaner refrigerator. On my drive to the store, Maria called and told my husband they had a black refrigerator come in and they could deliver it that day. When I got to the store, Maria showed me several options that could be delivered that same day. I chose the black refrigerator, and Alex delivered it the same day and it's working perfectly! For inconvenience, the owner was very generous and we appreciate him very much! We could not be any more pleased ! If I could have given them 10 stars I would have! Thank you so mucy Reid's team! Some years ago, we purchased two appliances from Reids Appliance, Ventura. They were the rudest company we had ever dealt with. Again, today, a delivery was made around the corner from us. After delivering the appliance this driver moved his truck onto our street and sat there idling his diesel truck for over 15 minutes. We have people at this address with two forms of cancer and other health issues. Their diesel truck fumes engulfed our entire house even with the windows closed. We called and talked with the manager of the store. This manager stated that their truck was unable to move without idling for 20 minutes per California rules, which is an obvious lie because he moved over 30 feet then stopped out front of our house. There was no apology offered by this manager. What we find typical of Ventura businesses these days is they do not care anything the community they serve. There is no empathy, no caring about people these days. This is what we found from our local Reids some years ago and their attitude has degenerated to being a store we will never purchase items from, ever. Back then, they never serviced our appliances properly, heaven knows what they do these days. We shop at Lowe's-Ventura these days because they back their appliances with knowledgeable service warranties and customer service. read more

We had a small issue with an installer and Frank was quick to follow up with us and was extremely kind and apologetic. We love our new appliances - they are our favorite purchase for our home and we use them CONSTANTLY with our new baby (cloth diapers and burp cloths 24/7). Just stopped by to get some information - I'd seen and used a very smart counter-top oven while on a trip in Japan, and I was wondering if there was any oven technology like that in the US. The man working at Reid's that day was very knowledgeable and let me know GE was coming out with something similar, but that it wouldn't do all the things I wanted. Nor were there other products that would. We chatted for a bit, and I decided to try to import what I wanted from Japan, but I'm also expecting to replace my freestanding oven/stove later this year and will definitely be back to this store to see what they have for that. :) read more

Amazing place in every way! We have used Reid's Appliances three times now and every time it's been a great experience with no stress. Dan is always so helpful and friendly both in person and over the phone and Paul and Edgar who delivered our oven just absolutely rock! The installation turned out to be more challenging than just getting the old one out and putting the new one in. REIDS Appliance is TERRIBLE.... Please BEWARE Don't expect service or quality from this company or their Appliances!! If you have any problems or complaints, they don't care, after you've given them your money. I Purchased a Speed Queen paid $1600.00 for it, for what I thought was top of line Washing Machine. After washing clothing, clothing still soiled, using the correct temperature, Soap and settings. Went into the store, also phoned numerous times , spoke with Frank (who calls himself the manager) when explaining my issues , he laughs in my face and says "sorry not my fault if you don't know how to wash clothes" I've never seen such terrible customer service!! They refuse to stand behind their products beware! Shop at Costco or Loews or for more high end Appliances visit Pacific Sales in Burbank, Calif they have EXCELLENT customer service and stand behind their products. read more

I called you to complain about the machine sounding like a helicopter and you sent out a repair person who verified for me that the particular machine has numerous complaints on it. I missed my window for return by a week. I was told by one of your representatives that we could work out something and that I would be given a call back. Well here we are in February. No phone call back. No follow up. Absolutely deplorable service. Apparently, the bottom line for you is what is important and not customer satisfaction. This is the second appliance I have purchased from you that is a lemon. It feels good to support small business, but not if a small business doesn't care about their clientele. We recently bought a refrigerator from Reids Appliances. We had a complicated delivery situation wherein the delivery team would need to remove the doors from our existing fridge AND the new fridge in order to clear our kitchen doorway. Not only did Alex & Eric accomplish it all with ease but they were so professional and pleasant to work with! They even installed all the refrigerator bins, removed all the packaging and plastic film and even took the time to give me instructions for operating the ice machine and water pitcher before they left. When they say "white glove treatment", they mean it! Good luck finding that kind of service at a big box store! We're so thrilled with our overall shopping experience and will definitely be going straight to Reids Appliances for all our major appliance needs from now on. SERVICE after purchase. I bought a Miele dishwasher; paid for installation and recycling old machine. Scheduling the installation took over 12 calls with either no response to messages or no follow through. When the installer came the 2nd time with extended hook up tools, he didn't hook it up correctly; no hot water. He poured salt into reservoir without water (contrary to Manuel + didn't use tool provided to do so. He said he thinks he tightened it down enough so it wouldn't leak, but couldn't tell. read more

The initial customer service was good, a guy full of information that I mistakenly understood as knowledge. He said the customer service for warranty repairs is the best of the best. He said these washers and dryers were "bulletproof" and would last a lifetime. He said laundromat quality! All of which seemed amazing. We bought a stackable and a washer/dryer Speed Queen, best of the best according to Dan. But after about 15 cycles, the dryer stopped working with an E66 code. I understand things happen, but the resolution is a family of 7 waiting 2 to 3 weeks for someone to come repair the brand new dryer. Its 3 weeks old and seems completely unreasonable. The customer service is sub-par. Don't go out of your way to support this local business. They definitely lost their touch. Just order it online. read more

In the over 27 years I've lived within a mile of the Ventura store I have been treated as an undesirable customer each time I've visited the store. The first time, in the late 1990's, I was looking for a high-end washing machine using minimal water. I was told that I didn't really want what I was looking for. I spent my $1k elsewhere. Next, 6 yrs ago during a remodel, got a stackable Bosch High Efficiency WD set, for cash at Lowe's although I prefer to patronize local businesses - because Reid's sales persons don't seem to recognize me as a potential customer. More recently I've been ready for a new HE refrigerator, and gave Reid's a 3rd opportunity. There were 3 sales persons present, and I mentioned my interest to them. With an obvious show of boredom one of the sales persons broke away to walk past refrigerators with me, he did not talk about HE factors or reliability, or anything quite frankly. This was Reid's last chance with me. By the way, I am a single woman, FICO 850, and all sales associates have been men. read more

We have bought a gas stove and gas clothes dryer from Reid's and are considering a dishwasher. Their staff is very informative, and the appliances are delivered when promised. Reid's carries high-quality equipment that you can depend on. They even have an in-house extended warranty. When the dryer was delivered a couple of years ago, the garage door accidentally closed on the dryer and ripped off the hinges because the dryer wasn't far enough into the garage. Even though I pushed the button and ok'd things first, Reid's still paid for half of the repair of the garage door hinges. This company that knows how to work with people - even me. He was very knowledgeable about his products & warranties of the appliances we chose. Reid's Appliances and Dakotah provided the 'BEST' customer service. Our kitchen/house remodel has had many delays ( due to permits) to the tune of almost a year and a half. Dakotah would text me every so many months to check in on remodel progress. Nearly a month ago, my wife placed an order for the Bertazzuni induction range after being assured by Tim the store owner that the range was in stock with a dealer in Northern California and would be shipped within 30 days to 60 days. She paid the full price in advance. When she checked on the order 3 weeks later she was told by the sales clerk that it would be another 3 months for delivery! This came as a shock to us since there had been no communication from Tim about the delay. After my wife brought this to his attention, he promised to investigate and get back to her but so far there has been no communication. My wife googled this product and found that three online sellers offer it for immediate delivery. She even sent Tim the links but no response. To date there has been no explanation provided for this delay nor any attempt to remedy the situation and this person is the owner of the store! We are deeply disappointed at the poor communication and professionalism afforded us since we went to Reid's in the anticipation of trustworthiness and reliability. When the owner of the store operates in this manner it is best that buyers beware. Update Sep 16: Since my review, Tim contacted my wife and offered an alternate model that he assured her was in stock and would be delivered within the next few weeks. We feel reassured by Tim's efforts and are looking forward to a smooth delivery and installation of the range in good working condition. Given Tim's professional response I have, in good faith changed my rating to 3 stars. I hope that we will not be disappointed again and will post my final review and update after installation. read more

Ok the in store service was wonderful - perfect in fact - no high pressure - knowledgeable sales person. The delivery and set up - we somewhere between passable and not-really ok. They broke a sprinkler head bringing the dishwasher into the house and after installation I had to get my own tools out and go after some clips that were scraping on the door that they had not tightened enough. When I was in the store I liked the video the sales person showed me a of a new model than they had in the store - it had a new spray mechanism that seemed like an improvement. I also wanted a stainless tub because I had read that they are much quieter and hold up better over time. NO Problem - just takes a bit longer to special order. When they got the dishwasher installed I realized this one did NOT have the nifty new spay feature - bummer... the installer guy seemed a bit miffed that I wanted to call the store to find out if this was indeed the one I ordered. I ended up keeping the dishwasher and I am very happy with it - it just seemed like a not so good ending. Update: 2 years later ... Kind of bummed the high end "professional Dishwasher" has a really weird problem - one of the wire frames on the top rack appears to have gotten a "leak" in the plastic coating and the wire inside is rusting in an odd way - seems odd. I tried emailing the sales rep - no reply : ( Called and left a message - no reply : ( UPDATE - I did finally get an email - the rep I had contacted was no longer with the company. But the number for Frigidaire the Reids person gave me landed me in a voicemail list that only ended up giving me a local service company that charges for repairs. I had thought a local company might help cut through the red tape for service... not so much. read more

Back in 2001 I decided to take the job I had and turn it into a career. People with intellectual disabilities who don't fit into the traditional one "size fits all model" are sorely underserved in Ventura county and I felt, after serious consideration, I could be of use in the field by serving a person in my home. Enter into the scene a wonderful family who helped me set up house by purchasing a new washer/dryer stack set from Reid's. Fifteen years later, after approximately 10,000 loads of wash, the washer took its last gasping breathe and died in spectacular fashion. I never want to spend money on these surprises but when I absolutely have to, I prefer keeping my dollars local, so off to Reid's I went. Dallas was super helpful and knowledgeable, took the time to answer all my questions, explained financing options, and didn't roll his eyes at the stupid female who didn't even know if the dryer was gas or electric. With a delivery date all set, I happily left the store with the glimmer of hope that laundry brings me joy again. Edited to add that installation was right on time! Fernando and John did their thing efficiently and courteously and dealt with the fact that faced with a 50/50 shot of choosing correctly if the dryer was indeed electric or gas, I chose incorrectly. They were right on the phone to have the correct gas dryer delivered. Won't shop anywhere else for major appliances. Thanks to Reid's, I DID find some joy at laundry again. read more
