I went in January during her typical hours and there was a sign stating that she'll be out until March. That's fine of course. I came again in April and she had a new sign stating that she'll be out until June. It's really annoying. That's fine if she just wants to be open for 2 days a week (it's her prerogative) but, people need at least a little reliability. And, the city has really raised the prices on metered parking in the area so, I ended up wasting ~$15 on parking thinking she would actually be there during her normal posted scheduled hours. It's just annoying :). I found NB Tailoring in North Beach who appears more reliable in availability and did an excellent job with my pants. On a separate note, she's a good tailor but because of the area, she knows she can charge exorbitant prices - really exorbitant. I have found as good of tailors for much less.

You walk into this "mall of stores", and right after you pass the side of Mrs. Ma, you'll find it. I believe the lady with curly-ish hair and glasses might be the owner or person in charge. She seems to be the one who does the measuring for customers, and I really appreciate how quick their service is. They definitely know what they're doing! I was nervous about bringing in my nicer denim at first, so I tested them out with a pair of corduroy pants. It was $15 for a regular pants hem. The second time I went back, I brought in four pairs of denim, and they were $25 each for the original hem. They came out perfect. The thread they chose was almost exactly the same color and you can only notice a slight difference if you really stare at it up close. I'll definitely keep coming back here. My dress had a very detailed lace pattern at the top and a mesh backing, making it complicated to work with. I also procrastinated booking an appointment, so by the time I dropped it off it was only 6 weeks before my wedding. It was her busiest time of year (with postponed 2020 weddings), but she still made it work without complaining. She was able to beautifully alter it (even though my weight dropped a bit, requiring a third fitting). The dress fit perfectly without compromising any of the original gown's design. Mila is such a joy to work with; I will definitely go to Fichu for all my alterations in the future.
