The plantains came burned and I didn't get any chicharron either just small chunks of meat also the pupusas came all stuck together it's like they didn't care at all

Reina's was pretty alright! I definitely want to return to try the BBQ mix, but i'm rarely in the East. That said, I saw Reina's on the way to the library and told myself I'd return for pupusas when I was done. Parking is trash lol. I ended up parking in the red outside of the restaurant and placed my order over the phone. I initially wanted just four pupusas - two queso, two queso y loroco - but three for $11 isn't a bad deal at all, so I ended up getting 6 for $22. I also ordered two plates of plantains, crema, beans and rice. Overall it was a delicious meal. I didn't eat the crema with the plantains because it's just not my thing, but the pupusas were everything I wanted & everything I expected. Quesillo is so delicious. Though they're not the same I often compare pupusas to quesadillas when explaining what a pupusa is to someone who has never had it, but I always state that I strongly prefer pupusas because they're thicker and I like the cheese (quesillo) much better.

Con Pan Pollo

First time ordering through Door Dash for this restaurant. They sold me when menu showed Pan Con Pollo and PuPusas. They will get all stars even more if I can. Everything I ordered was delicious. I mean on the spot , I remember when my friends mom made it for us it would have cooked red beets. The way they made it just reminded of my friends mom. "Thank You" I have been searching for a restaurant that could make it but either they don't make it or not even close. You get my thumbs up!! Cheese PuPusas -arrived hot and cheesy and I was so happy to do the stretchy with the cheese. Cola Champagne - after all that delicious foods and drink a glass of Soda. Excellent. You have found a loyal customer for life. Thank You so much. The food was amazing. Would Highly recommend !

burnt lime

many things wrong, first and less harmful: ordered carnitas super burrito and pastor burrito with sour cream and avocado , didn't come with sour cream or avocado. Level 2: carnitas and Al pastor was BURNT so burnt that the flavor overpowered the whole burrito. and only really had a couple pieces of meat. Icing on the cake: a whole ass half burnt lime was in the carnitas burrito! Very very flavorless and basically just a super refried bean, cheese and rice burrito. Perhaps the pupusas are good but the burritos , hellll nah

The vegetarian papusas are so tasty and the people behind the counter are the nicest people around.

Dry and uncooked. Flavorless. Wished that they put more love into their food and less bulk

I believe this space was a Burmese restaurant called Tharaphu a few years back. They made a decent…read moretea leaf salad but without the tableside show. I doubt that made much difference to their clientele, but in its place is another family-run business, this time Salvadoran. This one offers more generic plates at student-friendly prices for undiscriminating palates. That's at least my take in the couple of occasions I've tried it after going to the gym. The first time I tried it I couldn't see the menu until I got up to the order counter. Then I made the server wait since the menu was so comprehensive (Photo 5). I went basic and ordered the $16.99 Chicken Platter because the kabob version was five dollars more. It was decent enough though on the bland side with rice, fresh tomato salsa, and a small side salad of iceberg lettuce, sliced cucumber, and radish (Photo 9). The menu mentioned a house white sauce. I didn't see it, but I also didn't miss it either. I came back to try them again. I tried ordering the $14.99 Scrambled Eggs with Beef Chorizo but was told they were out of chorizo. This was looking to be a recurring theme because I was rebuffed the first time when I unsuccessfully ordered the beef gyro. Ironically this time they had the $16.99 Beef Gyro Platter. The rice and salad were identical to my previous platter, the beef was just OK (Photo 10). FOOD - 3 stars...middling meats, edible but not overly appetizing AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...spacious enough and nicely decorated SERVICE - 3 stars...minimal communication on the food and when it will be ready TOTAL - 3 stars...fitting for a student appetite, good enough for the rest of us if expectations are kept in check RELATED - Exploring Berkeley? Here goes, short and sweet…read more Yes on the pupusas....no on the birria taco. So the pupusa was definitely handmade and 4 stars. Service was super slow and I was one of 3 people there when they opened. Not sure what was going on. They also took forever to make my food. The birria was lacking flavor was was super chewy. Needed to be more tender.
