Brazos is one of these breweries. The beers are fun to try!! I genuinely looked forward to trying everything. I guess I've been to so many breweries, they start to run together and feel lackluster. This is the one to have broke me out of that cycle. My favorites were the Lemon Kolsch and the Hefeweizen. Boy oh boy was the Hefeweizen delicious, this place does it well. The pizza is that cardboardesque version, but it was edible. The pretzel was decent, but definitely a frozen-to-oven situation. What we *do* want to shout out is the mustard it came with. It was SO good. We asked if it was homemade, and it allegedly was: so spicy and nasal-clearing and tasty. The mustard alone is what is pushing up from 3 stars to four! Lots of free parking available. Entered the place and we were greeted by a smiling employee and some water! This place is a great secret to exploring. They have 4 different bourbons that they give you FREE samples. And they have several others that they only charge $3.00 per sample. Husband & I each had a taste of the 4 year & the 6 year which was a great way to become familiar with their bourbon. We then decided to order some drinks. Husband had Smoked Bourbon (rocks glass) which is;2oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1 oz Vanilla Liqueur, Mesquite-Smoked Ice Cube, Cinnamon Stick( so they smoke the ice cube) this was a great drink. I had Old Fashioned (rocks glass) 2 oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1/2 oz Simple Syrup, Angustura Bitters, Orange Twist, "Filthy" Cherry. It's an Old Fashioned which is always good. This place is small town charm with a 'Cheers' feel. I highly recommend that you go here. If traveling on 71 or 10 or 290 make the stop and hang out with some great people and drink some great bourbon. ...You MUST try the Rock and Rye as it's like Fall in a shot glass, but you need to sip it and enjoy it. It's Sunday, (liquor stores are closed) we were attending the Lickskillet celebration. My husband pulls his truck and flatbed trailer (had finished pulling a float in the celebration parade) in the parking area of the liquor store closes to the highway. It was announced, over the band's microphone for the owner of the "truck and trailer" to move their vehicle. No problem, it's ours and I was not sure where my husband was. We were waiting to load the 7 bales of hay we had just purchased in the Lickskillet celebration auction! The owner of the liquor store was asked "when do you want it moved"? His reply in a very hostile manner, in front of maybe 25 folks in attendance of the celebration, was "RIGHT NOW"! The owner of the liquor store told my husband, as they became in contact, "get off my property, NOW"! There were words, apparently, I was as not there but can imagine, judging by the owner's demeanor that ended in FUCK YOU MAN! Appears we really inconvenienced this liquor store owner, on a small town Safternoon!!!! We will no longer do business with this establishment and encourage all others to go to the next town to buy your liquor!!
