I ordered a cafe mocha with a coconut flavor shot. The barista was great and made sure my drink did not turn out too sweet, as I was afraid it might. The flavor was perfect, it was foamy and delicious. My husband loved his maple coffee. I also thoroughly enjoyed a delicious sugar cookie with perfect, fluffy icing. Sooooo good. Lots of room to sit, interesting photos and artwork on the walls to talk about. Highly recommend! read more

What a fun place!!! Stopped in because I had some time to kill between appointments and am so happy I discovered this gem. They are a very "old school" coffee house without any pretension or attitude like you encounter so often in that star coffee place. I had a delicious iced cold brew with real cream and it was the perfect afternoon pick me up to finish off my day. The attitude is relaxed and cool but also somehow energizing at the same time. I know that doesn't make sense LOL but I really enjoyed the vibe. I'll be making this a regular for sure. read more

Just staying the night in Mansfield and of course needed coffee, so stumbled upon Relax. Super cool place, and discovering the other side that seems to offer music/couches/etc made it better. The blackberry thyme tart was incredible, and the pour over coffee is done well. The city of Mansfield just continues to impress me! read more

Typically when I choose to hit up a cafe for a couple of hours of reading or work, I'm forced to make trade-offs. For example, there are plenty of cafes with great coffee and service, but where the seating and music selection leave much to be desired. And there are cafes with good coffee and a comfortable ambiance, but which tend to be crowded and have scant parking. And there are cafes that pretty much have everything, but where the hipster vibe is way over-the-top pretentious. And then there's the cafe near my house that almost has it all, but where they choose to keep the lighting dim to mask the fact that they're not terribly into cleanliness... Point being, Relax pretty much has everything: outstanding coffee, unpretentious vibe, great service, nice furnishings, solid wi-fi, a creative aesthetic, clean bathrooms,etc. Only one problem: it's in fucking Mansfield ;-). read more

This place was just "ok" definitely not a 5 star. when I walked up to the entrance there were 5 young adults standing outside visiting...and smoking. I DO NOT want to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke into a place I'm buying food. I had a chai tea latte. I wanted almond milk but they only have soy. I got a small and could only finish half. While it was good, it was too spicy. It got to the point where it was just difficult to swallow. Disappointing. I also got a date and honey scone. I understand this is from a bakery that shares this space. It was mediocre at best. Dry, no flavor, and chunks of dried dates that were just sticky...no flavor at all. That was a bummer because it sounded good. I'd go back to try the coffee. Maybe it's better but they really need to make their entrance non-smoking because that's just gross. read more

We were driving through town early in the morning and needed coffee. Found this place on Yelp and couldn't have been happier! We got a couple of lattes which were so good! My sons had chocolate milk which they said was the best. Then we checked out the pastries. It took us a while to decide because everything looked fabulous. It didn't hurt seeing people baking so you knew it was fresh. I got the chocolate coconut scone which was the perfect combo of sweet and salt. Croissant was closest to a real French croissant (but it does have a salty touch just to be warned). What a treat to find a place like this! read more

Traveling through central Ohio looking for a coffee shop without a national logo. Came upon this lovely spot. Clean, fresh, spacious (cavernous) with intimate areas and sidewalk seating. A very ice pour over, but all of the usual custom crafted beverages were available. Passed up the sweets offered, though they were tempting. I'm a coffee shop lover and so my friends and I were excited to try this place after we went on the Bible Walk a few miles away. At first it seemed really cool walking in; typical coffee shop vibes. As we were reading the menu the barista rushed us to order, he was shockingly unfriendly and gave zero customer service. I understand not overdoing customer service but this was kind of unreal. He even slammed my friend's drink down causing coffee to fly out the top. No courtesy smile. No goodbye. Nothing. I'm giving 3 stars since my cappuccino was pretty good and they make their own syrups which is admirable in my book. I liked the charm of wood and the ceiling designs too. read more

If you're a craft coffee lover this place won't be for you. Don't be fooled by the pour over station, they aren't using timers, letting it bloom and not even sure they measured out the coffee. My Kenyan was a bit over extracted. As far as the espresso goes, a cappuccino should be 6oz and we will can live with 8oz sometimes. When the offering goes to 16oz then they are really no different then Starbucks. If that's what you want then go for it. The atmosphere was anything but relaxed and the baristas seemed hurried and almost angry. That was my impression anyway. read more

I absolutely love this coffee shop. I make sure to stop by everytime I am in tha area. Not only is the coffee good, the atmosphere is fantastic. The mood is cozy, light, and definitely warm. The customer service is amazing. I have never had a barista who made me feel unwelcomed in the slightest. They meet you with a smile and always seem to be cheerful. A lot of the baristas are funny and amazing to talk to. They make the wait worth while. It does not take long to recieve your order, either. They have plenty of comfy seating to wait at or to sit and enjoy your order. I'm not gonna lie, I have done this a few times myself. After all, it is 'Relax'! Everytime I go there, I love to try new things but my favorite is the Café Bianco Mocha. It is to die for. I love that it is creamy and the coffee flavor is not overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I love coffee, but too much or too strong can be a pain sometimes. The coffee does have a good flavor, as well. The only complaint I would have is that they do not have almond milk. Only soy and regular, I believe. I'm not a fan of soy or regular so it is a little saddening for me. I have yet to try their desserts that they have and I think I may soon. They always look so good everytime I am there! read more

I have been traveling to downtown Mansfield for work a week or two a year for the last five years. I was very excited when RJIC opened. It has all the elements of a great local coffee shop: good coffee, kind baristas, funky decor, and lots of comfy places to sit. Throw in Black Bird Bakery baking up lots of fresh treats and things just got even better. My standard order is a large cold brew, but my co-worker ordered vanilla latte every day on our most recent week in town and always enjoyed it. My only (selfish) wish would be Black Bird would make some vegan pastries. I would highly recommend stopping in! read more

I have been coming here for years and I love it. Originally, it was basically a little hole in the wall but it was the hidden gem in Mansfield. Now it has expanded but maintained its amazing quality. I love how they display and support local artists. The drink menu is very extensive, including a variety of teas for those that don't drink coffee. The pastries are amazing with very unique options, such as strawberry pop tart scones, that you won't find anywhere else. All ages can be found relaxing here: talking, having meetings, reading, studying. Best place in Mansfield, we are lucky to have them. read more

I'm a little biased because I've been coming here since I was a kid, but I still drive 30 minutes just for this on a regular basis. The carousel carmelatta is my favorite, but you literally cannot go wrong. I've had nearly every pastry they sell and I have never once been disappointed - hard to recommend when I love them all, but their fruit danish is my mom's go-to. Fun place to mingle with locals, have a business meeting or to bust out some work. It's a fun, funky, charming atmosphere with lots of interesting people from the area. Lots of fun seating and access to outlets. Staff are always friendly and polite!! Well cleaned seating areas and bathroom as well! Best coffee shop in town! Just about the only coffee shop in Mansfield that's on the map so I was a little nervous to travel out there to meet a friend. But we walked in and instantly loved the cozy interior. Coffee was delicious and you could watch them make pastries+stuff in shop. Great options for seating- we loved every bit of our conversation while sitting in the window bay with a street view. Really nice place. I had coffee there. It was nice. Baristas were interesting and engaging. They had interesting topics for discussion. One person went by Mahoney and they claimed they were transgender, which was very progressive for commonplace Ohio. As a trans person myself, I was happy to feel welcome in the environment. Another barista, James, also told me the history of the building. It was interesting. I will go back sometime. read more
