Our Human Touch Super Novo was delivered on 01-10-2024. I am without words! JK...I have many words, but I will try to keep it short. My husband and I had decided on a Osaki massage chair, but upon a friends recco, we went to Relax the Back to confirm our decision. Wow! We are ectatic we did! Within less the 30 minutes Tom, the sales EXPERT had us convinced (along with the unbelievable massage)! Tom was the BEST! He was professional, polite, patient, and extremely knowledgable. The customer services harkens back to the "old days". We purchased a floor model which gets the same warranty...5 YEARS BUMPER TO BUMPER! Next step---the dreaded delivery and set up. Again, we were blown away. The gentlemen who delivered our chair were professional and meticulous. Mike and Daniel were polite and patient. They removed their shoes and they were very careful to protect our wood floors and other furnishings. The men took the stairs like it was a breeze, and they had it set up in no time. Pain in the neck! Yes, I have been called that more than a few hundred times in my life. However, unfortunately, I have been experiencing it too! My PT suggested that I upgrade my pillows. Specifically, she suggested a tempurpedic- a REAL one. Not an imitation. Since I have sworn off all pain meds, I decided to follow up on this suggestion. I looked for stores in the city, specifically, ones that dealt with back/spinal stuff. I knew I could go to a mattress store, but I wanted MORE! I found this place, located somewhat near one of our outer offices. I decided to extend lunch and check it out! Good decision. Paul was working- and he was incredibly helpful. We went through the variety of options and I tried them out. I ended up choosing a nice, temperature sensitive (meaning it does not get hot) specially designed for support pillow. Since I have a couple of very important specifications in addition to the temperature, it was interesting. He was really helpful, especially with some of the other specialty items they have in this store. Yes, I dropped a load of cash on the pillow and it is non returnable. After a couple days of sleep, I am still on the bench. It is COMFY. I love that. We shall see if my body gets in tune with it. Either way, this was a great experience. I learned some new stuff, I got a well crafted and specially designed pillow that should last for quite awhile, and I have some ideas for the future! Check this place out. Really. My family and I visited this store and had a really great experience! The sales people were very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. We tried every mattress and chairs. I tried their massage chair and was in heaven! Definitely a furniture to consider getting! My daughter tried their foot massage and begged to get it! My Husband got the thin memory foam pillow, I got a bed wedge and my daughter got her foot massager. The sales manager, Michael, was awesome! He wasn't just recommending their beds but gave us a variety of options to choose from. We will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I made the mistake of buying a couple of very high-end zero-gravity recliners here. On the floor they had the Human Touch PC-410. We made the mistake of trusting the salesman that the PC-610 model would feel exactly the same, the only difference being that the PC-610 is motorized. So wrong... It turns out that the PC-610 uses a completely different adjustable lumbar support that is a rare utter failure on Human Touch's part. It is simply very uncomfortable compared to the padded lumbar on the PC-410. Their delivery service was awful, and actually assembled the chairs incorrectly. Combine that with the fact that one of the chairs had a defective lumbar support that would inflate to maximum size whenever the chair was not in use. I was soon in agonizing pain from trying to break in the chair, and actually had to see a doctor. To their credit, the salesman and a rep from Human Touch came out after a week and reassembled the chairs properly. But the lumbar supports were still uncomfortable, even the non-defective one in my wife's chair. The salesman suggested switching to a different pad on the chair. I drove to the store to try it out, and within 5 minutes was in pain again. He said it took time to break in a new chair, and I would have to deal with some discomfort. I've already dealt with two weeks of pain from these chairs, so I asked him to just let me return them. The Relax the Back website talks about a 15% restocking fee, but the Naperville store has small print on their register receipt saying that it's actually 25%. I even discussed the 15% fee with the salesman, but he was (by his own admission when I called him later) so focused on trying to get me to exchange for something else that he didn't even catch the mistake. Their computers weren't working so it wasn't until I got home and saw the confirmation email that the salesman sent me from his Gmail account that I discovered the 25% and an exorbitant $145 pickup fee. I asked the manager, Michael, if he was willing to compromise at all on the fee. Since the salesman had misrepresented the product, and it had been misassembled, and defective, and caused me excruciating pain, I thought maybe they would do something in the interest of good customer relations. Michael was completely inflexible and unapologetic. I deeply regret doing business with this store. Don't shop for furniture here if there's any possible chance you might need to return it. Don't buy anything that doesn't exactly match a configuration on the floor. Don't trust their delivery service to assemble anything. And don't expect them to apologize for their mistakes, even verbally. read more

I came in looking for a new pillow. I was waking up with headaches on a daily basis, and my beloved pillow was rather old. While we debated getting a new mattress, I was looking for a less expensive option to try first. The salesman that helped us was friendly and attentive, though also high-pressured, car salesman type feeling. He dropped the price a couple of times while I deliberated. I'm pretty particular about my pillows, but this was still the most I'd ever spent on a pillow. The final price was less than they sell it for on the website. No returns, which sounded pretty standard, though have since looked up the place I bought our other pillows from, and they would do returns there. Tried the pillow for a few days, hated it, so it just sits in our closet. I ended up getting a new mattress elsewhere and switching back to my old pillow, headaches resolved. I had pretty much decided from the pillow buying, I wouldn't look at the mattresses there. I'm just not a fan of that sales approach. read more

After months of hamstring pain, I decided my office chair was partially the culprit, so I made a list of all of the office supply stores in the area and set out one Saturday to look for a new chair. Relax the Back was the second store I visited, and I ended up spending 1.5 hours just sitting in an amazing office chair, chatting with the manager, Evan. I didn't even go to the rest of the stores on my list; I already knew which chair I needed. Evan showed me how to adjust the X4 to my height, arm settings, and seat depth, and took the time to help me determine which was the best model for me. He never tried to sell me a more expensive model, and didn't push when I turned down the "extras", like the massage function and headrest. He walked me through the ordering process, answered all my questions about delivery and financing, and was all-around helpful. When the chair arrived, I was surprised at how heavy the box was, but that's because it's so durable! Nothing about the chair is "cheap": the base seems like solid steel, the leather is perfectly sewn, even the armrests were polished. It was easy to assemble, and I didn't need any of my own tools. The only suggestion I'd make to improve on the chair is that there's plenty of space below the seat for the Allen wrench that came with the chair to be stored, maybe in a space cut out to perfectly fit its shape. Evan called yesterday to see how I liked the chair and to make sure it was adjusted properly to fit me. It's only been a week with the chair, but I'm still completely satisfied with the whole process. This is a store & sales manager I'd highly recommend! As a point of reference, I work in sports medicine. I don't have any financial interests in this store, but I do have an advanced knowledge of human anatomy. read more

Visited your store in Naperville this afternoon with the intent to look at the various chairs with the intent to hopefully buy. Just had back surgery and we are renting a chair and RAB had been recommended to me by a friend who had purchased two chairs. Was about a forty minute drive from our home in Clarendon Hills to your store in Naperville. 1. Arrived at he store waked in.---no greeting of any sort. 2. Person was with a customer and yet never conveyed any recognition or even to say "be with you in a moment" 3. Saw three chairs on the floor, that seemed like possibilities to fit our need. 4. Sat in one. Fiddled with the control, got it to move. Liked it. From across he room asked the price and was told 3700.00, still no greeting or even "be with you shortly" or ANY sign that the person had any interest in our being in your store. Person continued to have dialog with other customer and then got involved in a telephone conversation. 4. Sat in the next chair--- tried the control and after a time said to the store person that I couldn't get it to respond and he called across that it wasn't "plugged in". Guess plugging it in would have been too much to ask. 5. Tried chair 3. Also thought "maybe" but by that time had given up that we were going to be able to communicate at all. 6. Waited another ten minutes and surrendered - gave up, decided that the store person had no interest in us whatever and walked to the exit. No sorry, no nothing. What a horrible experience. And what a bad taste it left for both my wife and myself. read more
