We visited this location specifically to try out Casper's latest offerings. We had bought a Casper mattress 10 years ago and wanted to invest in a newer, nicer one. I appreciated that we got no pressure whatsoever from Sherry, who helped us during our visit. She was very knowledgeable about everything in the store, including the mattresses we were looking at. We did end up purchasing a mattress that day, and Sherry continued to be awesome, helping us through the process of having to exchange the bases that were sent to us, which were the incorrect size. She helped us set up white glove delivery of the correct size base, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great experience with this business. We've owned Human Touch Zero Gravity chairs for easily 10 years and are ready for a set for our other house. Because it's been so long, we decided to visit the store and check them out in person to see if they're any different. This store isn't far off the green line, which we always like (we live in downtown SD *because* we want to take public transit or walk everywhere). Plenty of parking, if that's your thing. Sherry was very helpful and listened and asked follow up questions. When we decided what we wanted, because it was the weekend she needed to wait until a weekday to check manufacturing at HT and get back to us. We've since spoken and confirmed a time frame. I'll update this if our delivery causes a need to update the review (I expect an October/November delivery). I first went to a Relax the Back store 15 years ago and got a fantastic seat cushion for my car. I upgraded and got another seat cushion two years ago along with a back support cushion for my car too. Both combined make really long drives comfortable. I've always eyed their nice recliners when I would go into a Relax the Back store but they were too expensive for my budget at the time and I wasn't in the market for one. Well due to a foot injury and needing to keep it elevated while working from home, I could not for the life of me find a comfortable seated position in the house without my back hurting. I started searching online for zero gravity chairs and then went to the Encinitas Relax the Back store. I was interested in a Perfect Chair model but the Gravis ZG was the most comfortable for me and fit me better (I'm 6'3"). The price was out of my budget though and so I asked about used or clearance models. I was referred to Sherry at the Hillcrest Relax the Back, which I think is now in Mission Valley. Sherry was awesome over the phone and in person. I had told her my situation and budget and that I was interested in the Gravis ZG. Sure enough she had a floor model in the store and also checked inventory in another location for me too. I came in, tested it out and bought it on the spot based on our conversation over the phone of what price I could get it for. I was able to get 5 years of full coverage for a small price should anything go wrong with the chair. Sherry was personable, friendly, genuinely helpful, and easy to converse with over the phone and in person. Now that I've had the Gravis ZG in my home for 2 weeks, I can tell you that my back is WAY happier while I work from it with my laptop and my foot being easily elevated. I can tweak the head rest or leg/foot rest to my liking with the remote. And the lumbar support was the best I tried among all the chairs, it can get very pronounced if I want it to. The chair is perfect! I feel I got value with my purchase and one that keeps giving "back". Okay bad joke, but I seriously love this zero gravity chair and will definitely be returning to the Relax a Back Store for whatever my next need is. read more

I recently got a new job working remotely from the comfort of my home and was in desperate need of a comfortable chair. I wasn't sure where to go since I'm new to the area, in Fresno we have a bone store, but there isn't one in SD. So I looked online to find a store that could accommodate my needs.I definitely wanted to find a place that specializes in helping me find a chair that suited my body type and provided support for sitting long hours. Fortunately, Jorge helped me find the chair of my dreams :) It was the first chair I tried and I kept going back to it comparing it to other chairs. I really wanted to try the x chair that I see so much on TV, but unfortunately it wasn't a great fit for me. Several years ago August 2018, my wife and I bought two Luna Recliner's from Relax the Back. The chair is a power recliner, it has a heating unit in it also. Fast forward ward to December 2021. My recliner had a malfunction and the motor in the chair broke. I ended up in the hospital, my wife thought that the chair was no longer covered by the warranty. She called the Relax the Back store and talked to Sherry, the store manager. She said she would honor the warranty even though it was 4 months past the expiration date. They sent us the parts and they sent two workers to repair the chair. I came home from being sick and in the hospital for almost a complete month. The chair is fixed and it works perfectly. I would recommend this store and I would say to talk to Sherry. The employees of Relax the Back know the true meaning of the term customer service. read more

I went in the store last week and Jen was a great help as usual. That was the third time there and each time I've been guided directly to everything that I need for the issue I'm having. The staff there has always treated me with respect and attentiveness. Also each time I have been there they have divided their time professionally between myself and other customers the best that they can. Everytime I go in there and see Jen, I walk out with everything I need feeling that I was listened to and my issues were acknowledged. I enjoy laughing and joking with the staff and the fact that they take the time to show me many different options not just one. I also enjoy the fact that I never feel rushed. Having back pain and neck pain can be a real fickle thing. So when you walk into a store not quite sure what you're looking for, or have a general idea but are not quite sure what to select, it's good to have somebody that has product knowledge and experience. Came in to look at pillows and will be coming back for an office chair! Jennifer was so informative! She knew about all the products even well enough to make suggestion for us. She was great at considering our budget and even took in to consideration what position we like to sleep in before showing us pillows, one of which was perfect. Stores are successful because of their employees and Jennifer really made the difference for us here, she was helpful but not pushy and super friendly. Overall, great place. They have excellent back health products including affordable hand massaging tools. We will definitely be back for an office chair and would reccommend anyone with back pain visit this store. I went to Relax the Back a couple of weeks ago after experiencing the worst pain I've ever felt. I later found out I have two bulging discs in my cervical spine, but when I first went to RTB, all I knew was that I hadn't slept in several days and I was desperate. Jennifer was very kind and spent a lot of time with me as we tried to figure out which product(s) would work best for me. Zero pressure to buy here, As for the products, if you haven't tried them out in person, you're missing the boat! In addition to amazing massage chairs, they have pain relieving pillows and beds. I walked in curious to try the Technogel pillow, which has cooling gel in the center, and I walked out with so many products, I was helped to my car by Jorge. I went into the Hillcrest store to have my expensive, full car seat supports readjusted. I am usually in a lot of discomfort and or pain as I am under care for scoliosis: neck, shoulder and hip pain (and use a cane), breast cancer, and ulcerative colitis. I waited at least 10 minutes before being waited on and then was told I'd have to wait for at least 3 hours before she was available to help me. I filed a complaint to no avail. After going in to the Relax your Back store to buy a back support for a chair, we ended up baying that and an adjustable bed to help with my husband's apnea and back issues. Our in store experience with Jorge was informative and extremely helpful. He was not at all pushy. He really knows his products and was pleasant and professional. He is also the repair guy and let us know that if there were ever any problem, all we have to do is call. On delivery day, we had another great experience. The company that was coming to pick up a rented hospital bed could/would not even attempt to accomodate a schedule that would allow for their pick up before the delivery of our new bed. Vijon, in the warehouse of Relax the Back, asked if there was anything they could do on their end to make this easier for us. Wow! Way different from the people at Life Care Solutions who couldn't be bothered. Mike and Jesse were the delivery guys and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They dismantled the hospital bed and moved it downstairs before they set up the new bed. They made sure everything was in working order before they left. All around, an excellent experience.
