When I laid down on the table she put a warming mask on my eyes, which was glorious and began the whole process. She worked on my scalp the most - massaging, gentle scraping, using one of the vibration machines (sorry, don't know what they are called), and the water fall halo. All of it was AMAZING. I felt so relaxed and just entirely in the moment. The mini shoulder massage and facial were fantastic as well! As others have said, I wish it could have gone on and on! I waited in their waiting area, which by the way is very spacious, and includes FREE coffee, water, etc. After about an hour or so my wife steps out with a huge grin. She seems very satisfied and I noticed right away a big difference, her skin is clearer and less blemished. My wife mentioned that Nael was gentle, patient and very good at what she does. Carmen answered and advised she'd still book my appt being that the Groupon was valid on the day I called. I thought I was going to have to go to battle but she made the booking process super easy, breezy. All booked and ready to go, Carmen then texts the new address which is 133 Front St, Secaucus, NJ. The day of my original appt, I had an unforeseen incident, I texted that morning asking she contact me ASAP. Approximately an hour later Carmen gives me a call and again makes life easy for me. She rescheduled me with no qualms, which didn't have to be done. She could've clearly stated my Groupon was forfeited and kept my money, but she gave me the option of rebooking the best time for me. Whenever I purchase a Groupon I'm always apprehensive, especially if it isn't in my immediate vicinity and I can't do drivebys or drop ins before purchasing or having services rendered. My main concerns were noise because the spa is on a main street (I don't recall being disturbed by any outside noise), it being on top of a restaurant (thought I would smell the food, but I didn't) and parking (wasn't sure how many quarters I would need for the meter, 1 hr/quarter, BTW). So, here I am January 3rd, I walk up the stairs to the manifestation of one person's imagination, yup, apartment turned spa. Dim lighting, calming music and aromatic essential oils in the air. I sit down, fill out some paperwork and walked into my treatment room. I was then offered an add'l service of a body scrub for a nominal fee in addition to my body wrap and hot stone massage. After my scrub, wrap and shower I was taken to another room for my hot stone massage where there was a glass waiting for a Mimosa to be poured (confirmed, not assumed I indulge beforehand) and FRESH cut fruit, yummy. While sipping Chanel went to feed my meter in the rain (that really happened). C to the 3rd power (Carmen, Camilia ~ sorry if misspelled, and Chanel), I appreciate you! Although, each lady rendered a different service they all paid special attention to me in my moment, my time, temperatures, as well as the amount of pressure being applied. I can't imagine trusting this place with something requiring more serious medical attention. Appointments are rushed, but I can deal with that because my issue was minor. My problems began when I needed to follow up with them. Good luck contacting these people. They use a communication app that isn't compatible with all phones -- phones that are compatible with every other app in existence -- and if it's not compatible with yours, your office is virtually unreachable. There's no patient portal accessible via computer and no phone number to the office, just a cell phone app that not all phones can access. So you call. When you call the number provided, you first communicate with an AI robot who understands maybe two key phrases. Then your phone call is routed to an offshore call center. That's when the real fun begins. The call center operators will blatantly fabricate answers on the fly in order to get you off the phone. They'll tell you your prescription has already been processed while you're looking at your pharmacy account which clearly indicates that the prescription is pending further action from your practitioner, a practitioner you can't contact because of the app you can't use and the office you can't contact directly by phone. They'll tell you that someone from the actual office will call you back. Days pass. The call never comes. So you call the call center again, and the whole fiasco repeats. These call center operators don't care if you don't get the medical care you need, and why would they? They don't work for Schweiger Dermatology. They work for an Amazon-style call center 8,000 miles away. Your potentially-serious medical complaints in need of potentially-serious medication may as well be a broken lamp to them. So after many wasted hours and days and still no medication - which again, isn't serious for me, but it MAY be for you if your condition is more serious than mine - you give up and you find a new dermatologist. But not before joining the chorus of other horrified former patients calling Schweiger Dermatology a profit-driven, corner-cutting scam masquerading as healthcare. Which is all it is.
