I normally don't do reviews b/c I type too much and figure people won't read, but here we go... Let's start with I thought my Groupon was expiring at a later date and I actually called the day my Groupon was expiring, YIKES! Carmen answered and advised she'd still book my appt being that the Groupon was valid on the day I called. I thought I was going to have to go to battle but she made the booking process super easy, breezy. All booked and ready to go, Carmen then texts the new address which is 133 Front St, Secaucus, NJ. The day of my original appt, I had an unforeseen incident, I texted that morning asking she contact me ASAP. Approximately an hour later Carmen gives me a call and again makes life easy for me. She rescheduled me with no qualms, which didn't have to be done. She could've clearly stated my Groupon was forfeited and kept my money, but she gave me the option of rebooking the best time for me. Whenever I purchase a Groupon I'm always apprehensive, especially if it isn't in my immediate vicinity and I can't do drivebys or drop ins before purchasing or having services rendered. My main concerns were noise because the spa is on a main street (I don't recall being disturbed by any outside noise), it being on top of a restaurant (thought I would smell the food, but I didn't) and parking (wasn't sure how many quarters I would need for the meter, 1 hr/quarter, BTW). So, here I am January 3rd, I walk up the stairs to the manifestation of one person's imagination, yup, apartment turned spa. Dim lighting, calming music and aromatic essential oils in the air. I sit down, fill out some paperwork and walked into my treatment room. I was then offered an add'l service of a body scrub for a nominal fee in addition to my body wrap and hot stone massage. After my scrub, wrap and shower I was taken to another room for my hot stone massage where there was a glass waiting for a Mimosa to be poured (confirmed, not assumed I indulge beforehand) and FRESH cut fruit, yummy. While sipping Chanel went to feed my meter in the rain (that really happened). C to the 3rd power (Carmen, Camilia ~ sorry if misspelled, and Chanel), I appreciate you! Although, each lady rendered a different service they all paid special attention to me in my moment, my time, temperatures, as well as the amount of pressure being applied. The only place I'll ever go to get a massage! First of all, Carmen is fantastic. She is always in such a great mood, her aura just rubs off on you! All the other women are great too, they all have a special touch. The spa itself is very spacious, so nicely decorated and really peaceful and calming. I normally do an hour long massage. It's super easy to get an appointment, they're always on top of that and respond quickly. I've really never had a bad experience here. The music is always relaxing, they use essential oils during the massage too. There's also parking in the back and tons of street parking. They are also very fair with pricing. This is the place to go if you're looking for a quality massage. They offer so many other services too, definitely worth stopping in and grabbing a brochure. You'll be hooked! read more

This is my go-to business for massages. The service is top notch, so friendly yet professional! There isn't much they wouldn't do for you, if you ask. I suffer from chronic lower back pain that gives me terrible knots and pain throughout my legs due to sciatica and piriformis tightness and if I ask them to focus on certain areas more they will do it, without question- to the level of pressure you request. I used a Groupon to get a blowout and when I called they were super friendly, but when I arrived, it was like they couldn't be bothered. I sat there and waited for at least 15 min before the woman came over and took me to the sink to wash my hair. She asked me if I wanted conditioner, which was an extra $20 - you must be joking. I told her no, I was all set. When she was blow drying my hair she kept making all these comments to me about how dry my hair was and how damaged it was. Ok - I just paid $300 for a keratin treatment, can we not? Then after she blow dryed it & legit burned my head in the process - at one point, I almost screamed. I don't have that thick of hair! After that, she told me she had to straighten it (I can easily do that myself and it's pretty much straight as it is). I said, are you sure? Oh yes, honey, it needs to be straight. I didn't agree, but I kept my mouth shut as she was utterly convinced she needed to use an overly hot blow straight iron on newly Keratin treatment hair. Anyway, I just left annoyed, and it was probably the worst blowout I have ever had anywhere. Who straight irons anyone's hair anymore? That look isn't even popular. Sugey Spa moved to Secaucus just to let everyone know! The place was a little hard to find just because you don't see Sugey Spa signs anywhere. Its right next to the Poke Bowl store and theres a door with 133 that leads you to the upstairs. We were nicely greeted and were brought straight to our room (did a groupon for a body wrap and body massage, 2 hrs long). I definitely was not a fan of the body wrap (we were brushed with some type of oil and had to shower after our wrap). The massage was good, not over the top but it did its purpose. There was ambient music in the hallway but not the room? I was confused about that. So while we were getting the wrap and massage done my bed was next to the window where i could hear EVERYTHING, there was a bus stop so every so often i heard it. At the end you get fruit punch and fruit (grapes, sliced strawberries, and oranges). Although the people were nice no one introduced themselves and my lady left to go home before i could tip her. To compare pros and cons i would rate this place 3 stars. read more

Horrible experience! If you are looking for a relaxing "Spa" experience do not come here! First off this "Spa" is in the back of a salon, no door no separation between the two. Upon arrival you are greeted and told to fill out "a form" on blank piece of paper (how unprofessional is that?!) I was then told to go to the back.. area with a curtain and told to take off my shirt and bra.. no towel was given not to mention it was a cold day and you are in an open area in a salon full of men and women. Carmen was the women doing my facial. She was not prepared, she was talking to a coworker, opening packages and singing in my ear, and had to get up for everything she needed and didn't even walk me through what she was doing. Relaxing what? I had loud music playing in my ear on top of the music from the salon and people talking. I did not enjoy myself one bit. I was offered to purchase additional services but kindly refused and just wanted to run out as fast as I could. It was a complete waist of my time and money not to mention I caught an allergic relation to one of the products. It is day 2 after and my skin is still irritated, not sure if the products were old or something. This is the first and last time I will visit this place and definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

It might be only a slight exaggeration to say this place saved my life. Weeks of stress + 14 straight days on the road + looooong weeks = higher probability of poor life decisions. I knew I needed a massage intervention, and found this place randomly via Yelp 'cause it's near my hotel. It's located in a pretty unassuming, non-fancy gym. Staff are all very friendly. They've carved out a really nice little space for the spa. I called to book and got a first time customer discount, which was fantastic as the full rate prices are already reasonable. This was the best massage I've ever had. Some places do about 45-50 minutes of actual bodywork for a 60 min. massage. Here? You get an actual 60 min. I booked a Swedish, and it was fantastic. I imagine the deep tissue work would also be fabulous. I'm a fat lady and have gotten guff from some masseuses in the past. Not here! I felt very comfortable and had a great massage. The only drawback is that the nursery is next door and there's very little soundproofing. That said, they've got relaxing music and natural sound machines going in the room. For the quality of the massage at this price point, I wasn't bothered at all. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely be back. read more

I work all day at a desk (accountant) so I get knots and stiffness in my neck and shoulders all the time. She got all the knots out and I have felt amazing ever since. When I noticed that the young lady had dipped the same applier into the wax that she had just used on me, I asked her about it and she said it was ok bc she had only usEd it in the top of my pubic area. Came here as a first time Spa visitor and was happy with the treatment. I was greeted by Carmen and walked through the different massage options, she took her time and was patient given my ignorance. After selecting a package, I was taken to one of their massage rooms and really enjoyed the subtle lavender scents. The masseuse was really communicative as I had a ton of questions but overall the setting was really relaxing, I actually managed to dose off quickly (not sure if that is a normal thing lol). I read a review saying it was noisy, but I can't confirm that. My experience was superb. The only quip I have is the massage wasn't long enough, I should have ordered a longer session lol. What a wonderful experience! I visited the spa today and met Carmen, the owner and masseuse. She was warm and welcoming, and the massage was I incredible. Honestly, having received a gift card to this spa, but never going, I was skeptical. My skepticism was quickly over when Carmen worked on me. I was truly relaxed and refreshed when I left. The resin doesn't return voicemails, doesn't even answer phone calls, instead sends you a text as the call is still ringing. Then after hours texting back and forth because the person apparently doesn't know their schedule to book sessions, tells me the address to their spa is no longer in Nutley but in Secaucus. I contact groupon since that seems like false advertising and then the person decided to give me a phone call. It's a week later and I see that the address for their sa still says Nutley when it's no longer been in Nutley for two months yet they're still misleading customers from Nutley. read more

I had purchased two groupons, one for a massage and one for a wrap (2 different people). When we set up the appointment, in order for the both of us to go at the same time, THEY suggested we go in the same room since they only had one associate who handles the groupons. This wasn't a problem, so we agreed. Upon arrival, about 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment, the door was locked so I had to text the owner to ask to be let in. Then they said they couldn't take us together until I reminded them of the agreement. It was at that point that they started to set up the room. We finally entered the room and were ready to start at 10:20 (appt was for 10 am). The masseuse started on the wrap, while I relaxed on the massage table. About 5 minutes later, she started on my massage. While there was nothing wrong with my actual massage, relaxing isn't exactly what I would have called it. The masseuse was extremely sweet, but not very peaceful. Lots of loud clanking, constantly shifting the table while I was on it, plus I could hear her phone vibrating the entire time, not to mention the chirping of the fire alarm outside the door. After the massage, I got off the table and slide from the overuse of the massage oil. Thankfully I didn't fall. After my friend's wrap, which she has had at other establishments, she showered off and that was it. No lotion, not nothing, which she found odd. We did receive water and snacks after, but no cocktail as per our groupon stated. Also the set up was very awkward, as your just sitting in the lobby while the masseuse walks back and forth cleaning up. It didn't really make me want to stay to enjoy my snacks and water. The entire experience was just OK...it didn't feel very professional. While I do indulge in massages at least twice a year, this is NOT an establishment I would return to. Thankfully I only paid $32.50 for each service!!! After I made the same comment on Groupon's website, Sugey Spa responded placing the blame on me, acting as if it wasn't THEIR suggestion for 2 of us to both get treatments at the same time. Soooooo I actually got this Groupon to Spa@Mac as a gift for my step mom Deb for a birthday/Mother's Day gift. Her experience was phenomenal. She liked the fact that she didn't have to wait. She got serviced as soon as she walked in. She got the hot rock treatment by Carmen, who allegedly has the hands of an angel. (lol) My step mom is no stranger to pampering one's self. First time at Sugey Spa today. Was a very great experience. Was relieved I was entering a new spa and not Aldana's (terrible massage service a few years ago at this business, never went back!) Carmen did a wonderful facial and neck/arm/head massage. She had great pressure (soft yet firm) and included all the extras; yummy scents, smells, added touches. I went to this place for my first time spa experience. I had a full body scrub and a mud wrap. A month later I came back for a 60-minute hot stone massage. Both times I was super relaxed and felt amazing afterwards. I highly recommend this place. Everything was very neat and clean. The staff is amazing and very friendly. I plan on making this a monthly indulgence when financially possible with my budget. They offer a lot of great deals from time to time, for example a couple months ago they had 50% off body waxing and last month I believe they had a special on facials. I purchased a Groupon for a facial/neck massage and made an appointment a week in advance. It was a little confusing when I arrived because I had to walk through a nail salon to get to the spa, I think they're different businesses? I arrived early and was taken back by a friendly woman and introduced to Carmen, the Esthetician. Her and the other woman (I'm sorry I can't remember her name!) worked on my skin together. She asked me if I had problems or concerns about my skin so we chatted about my issues and she focused on those areas. The treatment was thorough and my skin looked amazing after. Unfortunately the set up of this spa isn't ideal, as I could hear the client talking on her cellphone in the next room (The walls that separate the rooms don't reach the ceiling, so it's pretty open) but I didn't mind too much. I was given a glass of fruit juice after my treatment, which was a nice touch. The woman (still can't remember her name, sorry!) attempted to up sell me for three more facials after I was done for $130 which was a good price, however they didn't take cards and I had no cash. I was told that price was ONLY available today ‍I've never been to a spa that didn't accept credit cards before and I would've purchased it right then but I didn't want to go to the atm and come back. I made another appointment for a month from now so hopefully I will still be able to take advantage the pricing special. read more

It was a very professional environment and the place is set up like a spa because the decor, music, and aromas are very soothing. I was asked what areas if any I'd like focused on. Carmen was my masseuse and she was excellent. She gave me a very relaxing hot stone massage, facial, and reflexology treatment. She is a friendly person who is great at her job. At many times I was so relaxed I was almost falling asleep. She made sure I was comfortable at all times and the pressure was just right. She used aromatherapy oils which made everything even better. Her facial was great, I left glowing! No redness or inflammation just a clear complexion even after extractions. She was kind enough to offer me a drink between my services which was very refreshing.
