"Relaxing" zone ? Far from it! I had the worse experience here. A heavy set man was my "masseuse". I highly doubt he was licensed and if he is, I want to know where he received his training. It was so painful! He was pushing very hard on my spine and seemed to spend 75% of the time going up and down my spine in hard pushing movement... not a massage. I asked him several times to lighten up. I should have left in the first 5 minutes but stayed which is my bad. I choose the "combo" massage which included my feet. He never moved to my feet and then all of a sudden the woman at the counter says "combo" and something else in their native tongue. He starts to yell!!! Literally YELL and scream at her . Goes over to the book to double check my "combo" then starts yelling at them again - I say I'm done and he comes out and aggressively says NO NO - he then proceeds to use VASELINE all over my feet - worse experience. I told him to stop and he sprayed alcohol all over my feet and legs. It was terrible. I'm still sore. My neck and back when I lie down. I think I'm bruised internally on my spine. 1 star which means ZERO. Stay away from this place. read more

Over-the-clothing massage is a different skill set from dimly-lit-room-naked spa massage. "Leo" has the skill. He detected my trouble spots and worked on them. One of those problem areas are my glutes. He didn't hesitate to work on them. (I am a 61-year-old white woman; there was nothing sexual or inappropriate about his approach, in my view.) He responded when I told him where the pressure was too much, and adapted his technique. He recommended that I go to 90 minutes (I had scheduled 60 minutes on the table), and clearly explained the added cost of that. Don't go to this place if you are looking for private rooms and essential oils. This is a straight-forward Chinese-style open air massage place in the mall. 100% Deep Massage!! I love this place, I've been here twice now and both services (foot reflexology and a chair massage) were proper deep massages! I have a couple diseases that cause me body pain and this is the first place that I have found that goes deep enough to help. I wouldn't say it is relaxing, as the pressure is strong and a couple employees do sometimes talk loudly to each other, but my body feels so much better after coming here. Always enjoy this massage place in the mall. They do table, chair and foot style. There is enough staff you don't have to wait usually. The staff are sweet. Each therapist has a little bit of a different style so you may need to find the one that you like best, but I didn't dislike any of them. Some just have a back for my body type. read more

I come in every couple of weeks normally but it's been difficult to lately. However every time I come in they're always great. I always go for an hour because I have some lasting back issues from the past and my current occupation. My muscles are extremely tight all the time despite stretching and medication and a massage typically leaves me in pain as the muscles are finally loosened up. Today I went in after pulling a muscle in my lower back on the job and while I can't understand much of what is said I knew they were aware of how much pain I was in before I even got on the table. While I did leave in more pain because of the relief from tightness, they made it easier for me to get my back adjusted and got the ball rolling for me to recover faster. I always feel bad that it takes me so long to get up but I appreciate their patience with me, I'll continue coming here for the foreseeable future. read more

My masseuse fell asleep 3 times within the first 20 min of my 45 min table massage. He was a heavier set male sitting on a stool the whole time. Every time he was falling asleep I would feel him slowly stop massaging them eventually stop. I wanted it to end so I confronted him and told him I wanted to cut it short and hopped off the table. AWESOME!! Is all I want to say. But of course I need to go into details. I went this past weekend because my back was so dang sore. Without telling the masseuse about my lower back issues, I opted in for a 20 minute back massage. The lady got me set up on the table and I was so worried that it was going to hurt more than it did before I went in. I've had that happen once and haven't had a back massage since...until this moment. As she was massaging, she instantly found my aching area and stayed on top of it the whole time but still equaled out both sides of my back with the massage. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I kid you not, my back was back to normal like nothing even happened. It was so tight and tensed up and she got it out. I mean my back was...WOW! Lol. I couldn't believe it myself. She definitely knew what she was doing. She might be the owner. I think. Idk but she's way awesome. She also did my feet too. I don't like people touching my feet. Haha. But after she did my back, I trusted her with my feet. The work area and office area is clean. Towels get switched out right after customer use. The beds are sprayed and wiped down and prepared for next use. It is NOT a dirty environment (like another review mentioned). The workers are all so nice and friendly and also make you feel welcomed. This massage place is located in the Arden Mall. The mall has plenty of parking and is relatively safe. The massage area is near JC Penny's in the middle of the mall out in the open. We choose the 20 minute chair massage. It was very relaxing even though you are in the middle of the mall. Due to an emergency we brought along my girlfriend's daughter who is 5 and she sat and colored and that worked out ok. The massage is very professional. They have something to cover the chair and use a drape on top of your clothing. They don't chit chat, they focus 100% on giving you the massage. I would come back or stop by next time I'm in the mall. I love massages and get one almost weekly. Checkout was simple, you can pay with a credit card. This spot isn't bad at all! It's within the mall, so don't expect a peaceful and quiet setting. It's a very small space with no privacy, so you have the entrance to the door facing the passerbys giving some glances at you. There is no waiting area for customers, so if it gets busy they usually sit right next to you while you get your massage. If your not bothered by this and want something quick during shopping, I do recommend this spot. I usually go for expensive, deep tissue massages, but today I wanted to try something quick and on the go. Just something to help me relax. I went for the 45 minute chair massage and then the 20 minute foot massage. He did a great job massaging my back with the use of his elbows, arms and fingers and focusing on knots. I visiting Relaxing Zone on 11/7/2021 and did the chair massage because my neck was very tight and hurting. The man (tall old with grey spiked hair) I got seems like he doesn't know what he's was doing or license by the way he massaged me with using his elbows on my spine and also pushing on my back like a chiropractor and that hurted my gut boy time, I just didn't wanted to say anything or complain at the time and just let it go....the following day my whole back and neck was very sore from the massage and both my front and back ribs was hurting, it hurts when I move or breathe a little, so I just tough it out thinking maybe I'm just bruised inside and it will heal in 3 days and will go away. It hurts for a few days and stopped hurting for a few days , now the pain came back and my whole bone back hurts when I move a little. It's a pain that I can't really explain, but it feels like I've got into a fight and bruised my ribs. I should have called or was going to call them the next day or two to let them know what the masseuse did., but since they speak little English and are Asian and know they are not going to understand because of language barrier or accept fault I kinda just left it alone, but now that I'm hurting again, I will be giving it a try and call them and see if they care to do something about my complaint....I will be contacting my Dr for an X-Ray of my ribs. read more

It was my first time (at Relaxing Zone) after all! I guess I'm a bit old fashioned - I'm used to being undressed, draped in a towel, and laid out on a table - first on my back and then later on my stomach, with some soft music in the background. So when I learned that this experience would be done fully clothed, in plain view of dozens of people, while positioned face down in a chair, I didn't know what to think. Also, I'm used to going an hour, even an hour-and-a-half, but here, they get the job done in as little as ten minutes! I opted for a quickie (15 minutes). Eduardo (I'm not actually sure of my masseuse's name, but I'm calling him Eduardo), sure packed a lot into that short time span. After just a few minutes of deep penetrating work, I felt like a natural woman! Ok, so there's not a lot of chit chat happening, but let's be honest, that's not why your there! Don't worry ladies (and sensitive gentlemen), if it's a little too rough, just let them know and they'll be gentle. I am so happy Relaxing Zone has come into my life. I would give them a five star rating, but they are located in the middle of the mall. It's a wee bit awkward to get a massage as people are walking by (it's funny, I can hear people saying, "wow, I think I'd like a massage". The most important thing is they are there when I need them! I get headaches a couple a times a month, and the massages fix me right up. They are very friendly, and happy. I'm not really into the frequent customer cards, because they fill up my wallet. But, they do offer a get ten massaged receive the next one free. I've tried several times to get a massage therapist close to my downtown office, and they never return my calls. So, I knew there was a place in the mall that gave chair massages and tried it out. I'm thankful I did, this was the second time that I visited them, I was not disappointed. My mom and I spent a whole hour getting the worst massage of our life! Their service was great but the massages were terrible. The massages were more like harsh rubbing and patting than they were relaxing. I was constantly wincing and tensing and the masseur did not notice. BUT I have not felt so uncomfortable during a massage in my life. 4 men were on staff the day I was at lens crafters and decided to sneak in some foot reflexology! No, it's not reflexology, bummer, but again, it's ok as long as it doesn't tickle. After each of them avoiding me, then trying to get an agreement from someone for a foot rub, they laughed and mumbled in their native language, rolled eyes, even some horseplay was involved. I believe they were drawing straws , in a more involved ritual. So the loser of the draw had to sit down and rub my feet. He sighed, slouched over, slapped a ton of Vaseline on my feet, and proceeded to do a variation of a foot rub. It hurt and my right calf is still sore in front! I asked for no legs after discovering it was pokey fingers and not massage strokes. ( I am no wimp, I get deep tissue often). But he had escaped to a zone and I could have asked to paint my toes and he's not have looked up! So I just ow'd a lot and counted seconds until he would de grease my feet & I could leave! It was just a mess and I do believe they hate feet. I don't blame them! But then again, I didn't choose that job. I have gone here a number of times and been very happy. It's different because it's not like the regular massage experience where you undress. This is in the shopping center so you can't do that. Even with that restriction it was still very relaxing. I would recommend this place. There are serval different options and times available. Chair massage, table massage, foot massage. I think you can get 15 minutes 30 minutes an hour and probably 90 minutes although I would not get that much time. I get the one hour that is a combination of the table massage plus foot massage. Even though they are massaging through your clothes it is still very relaxing. They are adept at that. I remove shoes, my belt and I always wear T-shirt so I remove my outer shirt. read more

Wow! What a delightful surprise. I have had massage all over the word, so naturally I am open to untraditional settings. However, I can tell the difference in a skilled massage therapist, and a phony. This couple is THE REAL DEAL. My sister and I both completely forgot we were in a mall. Oh my god that was The worst massage experience ever my son accurately said what did you expect mom for $20 but I have to say it started off pretty typical and i thought would be relaxing but quickly moved to my feeling like I was being beat up ( punching me with fists- it was weird) don't get me wrong I like deep tissue massage but the last third of the massage was anything but massage. I agree with Juicee P and Mike H. I had an unpleasant chair massage. Be aware: (1) The person who invites you to the chair may not be the person who will perform your service. The man with the cap, who everyone raves about, asked me to take a seat. I thought I was in luck but once my face was in the opening and I couldn't see, a different man (a shorter, wider man) worked on me. Most of what he did was lean on my spine with what felt like his full weight. This wasn't even acupressure massage. The massage was painful and the fingers of my right hand eventually went numb. I should have asked him to ease up. The next day, my back hurt and was bruised. (2) You may end up paying for a service you didn't request. When I was sitting down, the man in the cap asked me if I wanted a 20-minute massage. I said, "Yes, 20 minutes." When I walked to the desk to pay, my service provider told me that I got a 30-minute massage, which meant I had to pay $10 more than I expected. Be sure the person working on you knows what you want. (3) If you pay with a card, your calculated tip will be inflated because it includes the card processing/service fee. There is a $1.00 charge for using a debit/credit card. Okay, fine. What is not fine is that a 20% tip on a $35 service ends up being $7.20 rather than $7.00. This is not a big difference but it is still not cool. Beware if you decide to spend money here. And remember that California does not require state licensing for massage therapists and that certification for massage professionals is voluntary, not required, in Sacramento County. read more
