Living and owning a property in Miami is a challenging task, especially when it comes to moments when things broke down. Called them in the early afternoon, they were here the same day for the A/C unit on one side of the house that wasn't cooling as I thought it should. They checked it out, recognized that with cathedral ceilings and it being unusually hot and humid over the past week, the unit was working to capacity, cooled air from the ducts was the right temp and the coils did not need cleaning. not only did he (henry, the owner) show up on time (on a saturday morning, no less), my building wouldn't let him up because he wasn't from our 'preferred' contractor. nonetheless, henry contacted the owner of the other company (they know each other professionally) who agreed to vouch for Henry and essentially take the liability for him to do the work. Unfortunately, it was just too complicated for the weekend crew at my building to understand, and I had to turn Henry away and wait another 90 minutes for the 'approved' contractor to get here. Absolutely terrible company. I called Reliable a few months ago based on the good Yelp reviews. My AC had stopped working and the coils were freezing over. The response time was good and they had a tech at my house about two hours after I called. It all gets worse from here. Tech came over and I explain my problem etc... I let him do his thing and he spends about 20-30 minutes checking everything out. He finally comes in and tells me everything is fixed and hands me a bill for $650!!! Mind you, he did not tell me what the problem was or how much anything was going to cost. He said there was a leak and he had to refill the coolant. I'm pretty sure it's standard practice to let the customer know what the repairs are and how much it's going to cost before you actually do the work. Well not with this guy. They just "fix" stuff and hand you a huge bill. I grudgingly paid him and he assured me the leak was fixed and the unit should work fine. Low and behold the "repair" lasted a grand total of three months. Same problems again. Called another company that was highly recommended by my family. The new company said there was no coolant left in the system. Basically the tech from Reliable refilled the coolant just to give me the impression that everything was working, but didn't actually fix the problem. Typical quick fix scam. I will NEVER use this company again. Total scam artists. Take notice of the amount of fake reviews they have on here. Beware!!!! read more

I was very grateful and pleased with the help this company provided when our a/c unit wasn't cooling. They were kind (& honest) enough to troubleshoot with me over the phone. Their advice got my unit up & running within an hour and I didn't pay anything. I felt that was so great of them as they could have easily come and done what they told me to do themselves and charged me for it. Well, the AC unit was on the fritz again, so instead of using my old serviceman, I opted to go with the mass reviewers on Yelp and called a guy named Henry. He's the real deal, and a professional worth the business. He is personable, friendly and explained the problems with the unit. When you're an absentee landlord, the AC always seems to go on the fritz at the most inconvenient time -- holidays, weekends, etc. Fortunately, I now have Reliable Air on speed dial. Twice now, my tenant has called me on a Sunday to say the AC was out, and both times Reliable had it fixed within a matter of hours. Their technicians are always very helpful and professional, explaining the problem in detail over the phone and then again on the invoice. I'm not sure I would call their prices cheap, but they do seem fair for the speed & quality of the work. I called and asked to get my A/C annual service and when the guy asked if the a/c is working fine I told him its not as strong as it used to be but mainly because I think it needs service. Beware of these guys! They wanted to charge me nearly 300 to replace a capacitor. When i told them i thought it was to much and canceled, i have reason to believe they removed the caps from the freon lines and rigged the line to leak out all of my freon. When i finally got someone legit to show, it cost me 125 for the repair, plus another 120 to fill the freon from nearly empty. These guys are lame and the beach is small. Good luck out. read more

I came to my vacation home in Miami only to find that it was sweltering hot. Worse yet it was a weekend and typically hard to find companies who will work after hours. I called Reliable Sunday morning at 9am and had the Henry, the owner of the company at my apartment an hour and a half later. Within a few minutes he diagnosed the issue as a clogged drain line and got to work at clearing it. The whole thing was resolved within an hour and I feel the fee was reasonable given the fact that it as a Sunday. My AC system at my house had stopped working and I wanted a professional opinion on how to move forward. I called Reliable on a Sunday morning and that same day I had someone come by to take a look. They kept in contact with me throughout the day to let me know of an approximate time when they would be on-site and that helped me to plan my day. In the end my condensing unit had a problem that was not worth fixing and I was able to get an estimate for a replacement system based on my home's size and orientation.
