Reading the comments made by those who gave 1 star reviews was quite humorous. Is it really possible that people believe that financing companies have anything to do with car maintenance and reliability??? Astonishing... really. Reliable Credit took a huge risk on giving me a car loan. David took the time to talk to me on the phone while I was at the dealership in order to find out why my credit had gone from fair to poor. I had to quit working for almost 4 years due to health issues. Given that explanation, David approved the loan. As it turned out, I relapsed before the first payment was due! I struggled to make the payments and after a few months I knew I was not going to be able to continue making the agreed upon payment amount. I talked to David and much to my surprise, he lowered my interest rate and monthly payment, just like that. He said, "I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem". I was blown away. Last year I paid the car off after 5 years without the ability to work. It was a fantastic feeling and I cannot thank David and Reliable Credit enough. I was finally approved for disability in June and am planning on purchasing another vehicle. I will go back to Reliable Credit to finance my next car as well. I get they are trying to do their jobs but they way you speak to someone is a big part of customer service and she has no respect or care to stop and listen. For the 1st loan I received it went smoothly. I decided to do a second one years after the 1st was payoff and early. Well they have a staff member/agent who was calling weeks later to consider my 2nd loan by the name of "wendy". I expressed I was hearing impaired and need phone help from a family member she was bluntly rude and disrespectful. Finally after over 5 months we have plates for the vehicle This took SO LONG that our DEQ slip we provided them had expired and after all this we had to do another DEQ run ($21) and get a vin inspection ($7) up and over the initial $260 we needed to pay since they messed this up.... They auctioned it off and had a balance remaining of $4,592 mostly their ridiculous high interest rate. So they at least broke even. They are now attempting to garnish my wages for a total of $7,526.05 (plus estimated garnishment cost of not less than $150.00) so more than 3,000 more than what they auctioned they vehicle off for. This company is a scam and I will be fighting them tooth and nail and make them work for this BS money they think they are entitled to. They have been great to work with. I chose to do a loan with them because I had less than stellar credit, I had never financed anything before, I love that there isn't a penalty for paying off the loan early. Yes, their interest rates are high, but if you pay even a day early you end up paying less on it because it compounds daily. I actually read their reviews before accepting, which aren't that great as far as star ratings, but I essentially understood what I was agreeing to, I believe the negative reviews were from people who don't understand how an auto loan works. read more

My experience with Reliable Credit Association has been terrific. Thirty years ago I had stellar credit, I had a nice house, a good job, and was planning for retirement. When the housing bubble burst and the domino's began to fall across the country and scores of people started losing everything (myself included) because of extended credit failures by the BIG banks changing the rules it created a vacuum and a rise of smaller banks to fill void. The government bailed out the BIG banks but did not bail out consumers. As a result, "the people" were left with the consequences. No one forced me to accept a bigger house, a better car, more "things" I really didn't need but did want because it was available and I wanted more. The reality of my current situation is a result of mine own choices. I have read many of the reviews from fellow borrower's and one constant theme is evident; personal choices and mistakes played the biggest role. If not for the help of Reliable Credit Association no one here would have been given another chance at redemption with regards to personal finance. The reviews of 1 and 2 stars are laughable when one read's the "poor me" stories. If one had made better choices they wouldn't be here. The solution is easy: start paying with cash. Without Reliable Credit and other lending companies people with no credit and poor credit would not have an avenue to use to get the "things" they need today. Reliable Credit gave me a loan several years ago when literally no one else would. My credit score and history was garbage and they took a chance on me. The payments were kind of high and the interest rate was as high as they could legally do, all expected given my situation. The few times I had kind of late payments there were just some extra charges but not much else. The few times I had to call in to change my address was effortless and easy. They have an excellent website and an excellent app that makes it crazy easy to make payments and keep track of my balance. I just drove to their Milwaukie branch and picked up my title after making my last payment a few weeks ago, that was also fast and easy. I would highly recommend Reliable Credit to anyone who needs to build up their credit score and history, they took a chance on me and I'm so happy for it! read more

I am trying to pay my loan off early. I owe $4800 but the system only allows you to pay $2500 a month. You CAN NOT make a payment over the phone they won't take it. Sure if you don't have the best credit they will give you a loan BUT if you want to pay it off early good luck. read more

I was reading a lot of the reviews and am surprised at all the 1 stars. A lot of the reviews sounds like people not doing their homework and being surprised by their bills. I bought my very first car with a car payment at a car lot on 82nd about 3 years ago. They required I finance through Reliable Credit. Now before I bought my car I did a TON of research if you have zero or bad credit do not be surprised if most lenders have a high interest rate. I had zero credit at this point in time so I knew my interest rate was going to be 30% most places will do this to you now a days as the 15 plus car lots I visited told me the same thing, it's not just Reliable Credit that does this. I also knew what I wanted to spend going in and gave myself a cap and knew anything over 36 months I was going to be paying nothing but interest for the first couple years. I have had ZERO issues with Reliable but I also make my car payments on time every single month and was even able to refinance for a lower rate and get a loan on top it with no hassle, super easy process. However this did mean I was paying on my car for 1 year longer than initially intended as they just combined my loan with my car loan. But I knew that going in as I had asked all the necessary questions while going through this process. I have a feeling a lot of these reviews are people who are jumping head first into something without reading the fine print. I researched for 6 months before I jumped into buying a car because I didn't want to get screwed. The proof is in the pudding, everyone at Reliable has been incredibly nice and helpful I've never come away upset. It's amazing the treatment you get when you're nice and courteous and make your payments on time. I understand shit happens but you can't be pissed at a company for doing their job when you screw up. You enter into a binding contract with these people make sure you understand what you're doing before you sign your life away. You don't get to not be contractually obligated to these people because you lost your job or you don't want to be making payments anymore. read more

Pteditor loan company charging 30% interest. The car lot td me I would have an interest rate at 14.5 % an held the loan paper work for 9 days could not return car. So for 2 years now my due date has been on the 25th of each month they now have changed it to the 24th causing me to have to pay them an additional 14 dollars. Very very bad, while dealing with Customers, I brought my car to Florida, missed some payments, but was working on the pay off, during that time, when I asked for a letter , to get temporary tag in Florida, they just behaved very bad, saying we can not be sympathetic with you, because you missed your payment. And now, when I paid off the loan, today when I called them, the same lady is saying,Reliable Credit needs 15 days to release the title. But we needed a loan and they gave it to us when many others wouldn't. If you have decent credit there's no reason to go here, and if you have poor credit do your research. Have been with this loan establishment for almost 3 years now. 15% intrest on my loan should have turned me away from this company but I was desperate. Fell on hard times and have been dealing with a garnishment. My payment was late and when I called to make payment arrangements I had the misfortune of dealing with Liz and she was so rude and degrading that I was in tears. I needed a month's time to get fully caught up and was denied and told if I did not have the past and new payment I fully that my car would be repossessed in the morning. I was so stressed out. I had a loan on my car with Reliable for a year and a half. Got stuck with them because I had bad credit at the time I took out my loan. Set up my car payments on auto-pay and NEVER missed a payment and WAS NEVER late. After a year, I called to see if I could refinance into a lower interest rate and lower my monthly payments, giving them the first crack at keeping my business. The lady I spoke to was SUPER rude! Basically treated me like I was an idiot for having to rely on them to begin with, gave me some snarky comment about my credit (which, after having it set up on auto pay for a year, went WAY up - if you want to build your credit, set up on auto pay and your credit will jump HUGE!). Then she very rudely told me that they could only lower my interest rate by less than 1%. After having been a WONDERFUL customer and paying on time and never missing a payment, I let her know what I thought of her offer, and hung up on her (I was pissed at that point). Went to my credit union after a year and a half of payments being made on time, and I dropped my interest rate by 20% and cut a YEAR of payments off my car loan. I did not like dealing with Reliable. The people are super rude, and it's not worth it. I HAPPILY give my money to my credit union each month. I DO NOT recommend Reliable Credit. But if you're one of the people like me who needed to use them to get some good credit built up, by all means, they report monthly to your credit and making your payments on time will build up your credit enough to leave them and go somewhere else. They are USELESS if you plan on using them for a full term loan, but GREAT if you can use them and leave them to go somewhere else!! read more

I tried to make the payment 3 times and it didn't go through now I'm getting a late payment even though I tried to pay two weeks in advance. Part of the problem is with their system but they won't take away the late fee. I'm trying hard to build my credit I know that I'm using them because of my misuse of funds however there is no reason to be rude or deny one late fee. I wish I could give this place negative stars. We used them only as a way to build our credit back after a bankruptcy we were forced into due to medical bills and the housing crisis. We bought an 8k dollar car and ended up paying 15k on it due to their predatory lending. That's not even the problem I have with them though. I get that they're probably used to dealing with some interesting situations and people due to the nature of their lending but we had a 4.5 year loan with them, paid on time every single month except the last payment we had to pay 2 days late. Reported to the credit IMMEDIATELY. After 4 years of being a stellar customer for them they're mad we are done with their horrendous interest rates and never took out more money even though they called us offering it constantly. Seems to me they're purposely killing people's credit so they have to keep using these types of places and get stuck in a vicious cycle. My husbands credit went down 20 points just from this 2 day late payment. Oh and not only that but weeks later we still don't have our title. Run far and fast from these monsters. read more
