I had an appointment with them 4 YEARS AGO. I say that in caps because this problem is still persisting. When I originally made the appointment, the person that scheduled said that there would be a diagnostic fee but said that if we did the service with them, it would count as a deposit towards the labor. Once the work was done, we paid for the labor and were considered through. A couple months later, they reached out to me saying that I never paid the diagnostic fee. I told them what the person that scheduled it said and they said that they don't offer services like that for businesses. I said that is what I was told and was led to believe that this issue was put to rest. It is 4 years later and a collections company has now called to collect. Reliable sent a representative to our home for a quote. He took measurements and analyzed the space. He seemed to know what he was talking about and gave me some options to consider. I had planned to place an order for a $13k system but had a question about the difference between two options. I have sent several emails to the individual email address as shown on the representative's business card, and to the main office email address published on Reliable's website. I had a technician come out in March to do a system maintenance 2 heating and cooling units. The technician was here for a very short time. He did check both furnaces and changed one of the filters. I asked him specifically if he had cleaned the outside units. He said that it was too cold to check the air conditioning and that I would need to call back when it was warmer. I called today only to be told that they could not do maintenance on my units because it had already been done. I explained to her exactly what the technician told me to do. I would never use this Company. They try to get you to pay a monthly fee for maintenance. I have given them the benefit of the doubt several times but this is the last. I will never use Reliable (name should be Unreliable instead) ... I had them come check why a vent wasn't blowing. When the tech arrived, I opened the crawlspace, and a blast of cold air blew out... obviously the ductwork was disconnected. Their tech said there were no issues. I didn't trust him, so I went and checked myself. The ductwork to that vent was completely disconnected in two places. Unbelieveably their tech didn't find it... it was very obvious and either he was incompetent or just lazy. The owner responded to my google rating and said a service manager would contact me. Nope. Neither would the other two managers that were supposed to call me back. Crappy service. Crappy follow-through. Terrible experience. I'll never recommend or use them. read more

New install AC unit end of April 2025, it has been a nightmare stopped properly working in June 2025, when you call their number listed for repair, they tell you it's the new install team that has to respond and they send them emails they do not respond to call back. they don't care we are stuck in the heat after purchase of new unit! I'm really sorry to read all these negative reviews about Reliable. I used them about 12/14 years ago to replace my heat pump system. 10 year warrantee, bi-annual (spring/fall) check. I never paid for one repair/replacement part (and there were many, bad year for Trane Manufacturing). I did pay an annual charge (minimal, less than $150/ for the two service calls....think it was like $125 for 2). I never paid for freon or anything other than annual service charge. They even replaced my filters. When I say bad year for Trane, it was a VERY BAD YEAR. I can't even begin to express the parts (major parts) Reliable replaced and all was at n/c. So bad people I know that went with Lennox instead. Overall my Trane system has been great, never would have known defects if not brought to my attention. Who knows? I'm not a tech..............Quiet, doesn't blow me out of a room noise wise, mid range energy efficient (how efficient can a heat pump actually be). My electric summer/winter well under $200 - highest been 159.00, even last year 5 degree temps north of Atlanta, Ga. But I'm also Old School..............if you're cold put some clothes, socks, shoes, sweater on. If it wasn't for my cathedral ceiling in living area it wouldn't even be that. Unfortunately, I referred my neighbor today to Reliable for a Trane system (2 actually, 2 story home). I'll have to advise her of the reviews I found researching my filter size (can't find my paperwork). I understand the Japes sold the business, perhaps why all the negative reviews................growing pains................. WARNING: Reliable is not so reliable. I was very excited to have my new unit installed today, only to come home and find a disaster! Techs arrived around 9:15AM and left around 8:00 PM. This was because they tried keep promise about next day service, but they arrived without equipment. Their boss and the equipment place ignored updates for their getting whatever they needed, leaving then stranded and confused. My security cameras revealed one tech taking a nap on my property. It also revealed a huge pile of trash they left in my front and back yard while they left for a lunch break or to chase after equipment. Nobody thought to contact me nor update me on why my family and I were without air for almost 12 hours. I attempted to reach out, however the staff was rude and made broken promises that a return call would happen. I never received a call. I still haven't spoken with anyone regarding this since this review. All things promised in the contract were not received. This includes finished job for next day service (after signed contract), wifi thermostat and 2 other things. Crews will have to return on Monday to finish the job. Be very careful of the $9999.00 deal, a 4-5 thousand dollar increase will be added after deal is made. Be careful of the 3 things free things there'll ask you to pick from, you don't pick the salesman do that part for you. A huge hole is showing in my wall, so they poorly patched it with junk findings, glue and parts. It looks so bad. How will this unit last for years with escaping air from hole and glue? Besides, I just had my house painted, this will not fly with me. It's just not $15,000 worth of work. On top of it all, the house is not cooling properly. COME GET THIS CRAP NOW!!!!!! I'm a small business owner and had an issue with my unit. I called reliable Tech came out and change a wire in the unit charged me 800$ and did no other work. I was very upset and called customer service about the charge. The tech called me back and said "I did more work than change a wire, hmmm no you didn't you changed a wire and stood at your van on a phone call for 45 mins. I paid for your 45 min phone call. We've been a strong proponent of Reliable's 'Comfort as a Service' program since we signed on 5-6 years ago, recommending friends and family, and providing glowing feedback on the program. However, the frustration we endured in July 2024 is beyond acceptable. In June, our downstairs unit stopped working. Thermostat was set at 74 degrees, unit would run constantly, but house wouldn't cool down. I called to make an appointment as was informed the earliest available time slot was mid-July. After several phone transfers and repeat calls, repair service was expedited to the next available repair timeslot. The tech showed up, identified the problem immediately and fixed the problem. Case closed - no need to complain. Then, the upstairs unit experienced similar issues in early July. Thermostat set at 74 degrees, unit would run constantly, but house wouldn't cool down. I called to make an appointment. A different tech shows up and his assessment is no hardware issue but he added freon. In his words, "You're good to go" Less than 12 hours later, the problem is back. First availability for the tech to come back out is almost a week later. Same tech comes out and spends more time assessing the problem, and now indicates the condensor coil needs to be replaced. He charged up the freon, and said the part would have to be ordered and the freon should get us through until the part comes in and the issue repaired. Less than 12 hours later, the problem is back. At this point, I called Reliable to invoke the "if we can't fix it in less than 48 hrs, we'll replace the entire unit" which our salesperson sold us on the program only to find out that is NOT part of the program and the salesperson doesn't work for Reliable Air anymore. I was informed that's not a condition of the service, I'd have to wait for the part, and there was nothing I could do. Meanwhile, I've shut off the system as the inefficiency of both units increased my electric usage over the last 6 week greater than 150% above normal. I called Reliable again on 7/22 and asked to speak to whoever oversees the 'Comfort as a service' program and to get an update on the part order. I've yet to get a direct number of someone to talk to, and just get transferred from one person to another. I was told late 7/22 to give it 24 hours and someone would reach out to me. No response. When I initially asked about the part order in the morning of 7/22, I was told it wasn't ordered yet. Later on 7/22, it was confirmed the order was placed but no confirmed ETA. I called back on 7/23 to get an update only to be informed the vendor systems were down and to give it another day. I called back on 7/24 to get an update and was informed that the part would take minimum of 3-4 business days, and then installation could be schedule. I asked to speak again to the person overseeing the 'Comfort as a service' program, and was directed to the South East Manager but informed he was out in the field and not available. I received a phone call on 7/25, and returned the call. The South East Manager informs me the vendor timeline in now minimum 3-4 days from 7/26 and we're looking at early August for repair. He offered to install a kit which may help (but not guaranteed) on 7/26 between 8am-12 noon and we confirmed the appointment; but this whole thing has been a fiasco, extremely frustrating and I feel I've been intentionally duped to make the sale. While we've been singing the praise of this program when things were going good, we've been reminded that the quality of service is only as good as the service provided in time of need. We will no longer be singing Reliable's praises or recommending Reliable to friends/family and online associates. In addition to paying our monthly 'Comfort as a service' bill the last 2 months, we now have higher electric bills, we have discomfort in the home for 4-6 weeks and that timeframe continues to grow, and the frustration is piling on with every interaction or lack of interaction with Reliable. Instead of singing Reliable's praises, the experience has converted me and instead of praises, I will be warning others and sharing our experience. You had a free advocate of Reliable, but not any more. read more

I have a warranty but cannot schedule a maintenance call. the first time, they cancelled the service call one day before because via automated message because they had too many emergency calls. I was told to wait until August via automated message. I call back two weeks later, and am told that I need to wait until September because other people "don't have air ". if you can't service emergencies and maintenance at the same time, you probably shouldn't be in business. read more

Appointment available was 8 days away... after patiently waiting the 8 days in Sweltering 90 degree heat... finally my appointment day has arrived... while looking forward to cooling air....thinking relief was in sight... These guys are not trustworthy. Tech came out filled up my unit then sent an invoice saying my unit was leaking and I declined a leak test. Why would I fill up a unit knowing it will just leak out? UPDATE: After being given an estimate of $2400.00 to do the work suggested to fix the problem, we sought estimates from other companies since our warranty only covers the unit and not any ducts. We were able to have the problem resolved for only $350.00. Thank you to the companies that are not out to do unnecessary work, but to do what needs to be done at a reasonable price. Since Jan. 2020 ther has been a problem with loud air noise when a tech came out and made changes that he stated would improve the efficiency of our system. Finally in May 2021 someone came out to inspect the entire system including vents and ducts. He showed us that the air intake duct was not even in a position to pull air only from the house but is pulling from the crawlspace also. Along with other modifications suggested he led us to believe that all of this would not cost us anything (as we asked several times as to the cost). About 2 weeks later they called to make an appointment to come out to work up an estimate for the work as the only thing covered under our warranty is leveling the air handler. We set an appointment for today, May 27, 2021 with arrival between 10-2. At 9:15 we received a call that they would do the estimate from the techs notes and would not be coming out. When I asked why all of a sudden they could do it from the notes, I was told that they have gotten very busy with the weather that has moved in. I expressed my frustration with this entire situation and was told someone would reach out to me. Then 5 minutes later the person to do the estimate knocks on our door. What the heck? Apparently there is an extreme lack of communication within this company. Not sure where to turn from here other than every time someone comes out I will be with them every second watching and questioning what they do. Recently had them come to install garbage disposal. Ended up being 2 step 2 cost project costing over 600$ just to install. Work was done satisfactory but cost was outrageous in my opinion. Also they forgot the second appt for electrical and they sent a technician that was sick and coughed all over every 10 seconds. Both my husband and I got sick and we're out of commission for 2 full days with fever and coughing just like the tech. They also charge 49$ fee for estimate. I signed up for the monthly service for both my HVAC units in November, 2021. It wasn't until March, 2022 that the first service appointment was done, but only on my furnaces, not my a/c units because it was raining that day. The technician said he would have them call me to reschedule for the A/C unit service. No one called, one day in Mid April (one month later) I received a call from a technician saying "he was on his way" to my house, only problem was I wasn't home and had no idea he was coming! I called immediately to Reliable Heating and Air to reschedule and was told they would "have someone call me to reschedule", which they never did. I called again the next week and the next and no return call. I then went online and requested service and never got a response from that request. After waiting over 6 weeks and no call, no email, no text, I decided to cancel my monthly service agreement. I have literally called 4 times now to try to CANCEL as you cannot cancel online and have left 4 more messages each month, and each time I am told "someone will call you to get this done for you" ...no one EVER calls! I am calling my credit card card company now to stop the monthly charges and dispute the last 6 months of charges as I have not had ANY response to ANY of my online requests or calls. This company is truly AWFUL...do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Con artists don't have anything on them! And, I am filing a complaint with the GA Consumer Protection Division to get back every penny I have given them for absolutely ZERO service in the last 6 months. read more

We chose reliable because the sales associate, Kevin was very knowledgeable about HVAC management and had many years of experience including installation. We felt comfortable about choosing reliable and we had them install our basement unit 8 years ago. Unfortunately, the install did not go so well. The head installer got into an accident on 85 with an expired license. He sent a backup team without any paper work (we did not know this until after the install was nearly complete). Our first problems were minor. The Ecobee thermostat was a challenge for the install team (which is not uncommon) and they did not bring enough duct to complete an extra run we were having installed. Then the bigger problems started. As the day came to an end, it turns out; they did not bring any coolant for the new system. How this is forgotten on a new install job is very confusing. Moreover, the team replaced the wrong outside unit!!! This left us with 1 of 3 functioning systems for over 12 hours. We immediately called Kevin to tell him what had happened. He said it would all be worked out the next day and he would come over. Which is exactly what happened, the team returned the next day with the unit they mistakenly took and corrected all the mistakes. Reliable gave us an extra Ecobee thermostat and a 2-year maintenance plan for the unit that they incorrectly uninstalled. What is unfortunate is that they will not cover repairs for that outside unit. It is still under warranty for another year. Overall, I was very disappointed in the installation team. I feel partially compensated with the thermostat and maintenance plan, but I am not 100% satisfied. The bright spot in all of this was Kevin. Also, no PPE was worn and no company covid policy can be found on the website. read more
