This is an update to an 8-year-old review. My first interaction with Kennon was when I was trying to purchase my first home, and I requested an evaluation of the HVAC system in the home I was interested in. That evaluation was part of several issues that led me to run away from a money-trap property. Eventually, I found a home to purchase and have used Kennon for HVAC work since. My AC decided it was time for a stunt in the middle of the hottest week of the summer on July 3rd. Kennon was running holiday hours and staff for the weekend, not surprisingly, but they still managed to work me in and quickly replaced the capacitor. Christopher was quick and very kind. read more

Bad customer service. Gave a hour window for arrival then didnt show. Called they said "we don't give arrival windows". Well yoi did and then you didnt keep it so who lied. Second time usong them second time they were slow, inconsiderate, no follow through, and shoddy work read more

I knew my outside unit needed a new capacitor when I called to get service. The service tech was a great person. He did the job in about 10 minutes but the charge was outrageous for a capacitors you can buy all day long for $18-$22 at aby big box store. Kennon total charge for 15 minutes of work was $390. That's outrageous markup; so if you need a capacitor replacement call around and get an estimate before you have the work do. I'm done having Kennon do future work. Whoever owns Kennon air conditioning now is ripping off their past loyal customers like me. read more

i am an existing customer. AC kennon keeps rescheduling scheduled maintenance appointments that are prior booked months back. Then on the day of the maintenance , they cancel, because of being short-stuffed. I have a tenant in my residence and Kennon has missed maintenance twice under the same pretext. On calling customer service, they are not sure whether such incidence of cancelling appointment at the last momemt witll repeat. read more

I paid for AC servicing and afterward noticed a dining room chair was missing. I sent the company a photo of the chair with details. The company initially told me they'd reimburse me $500 directly, but later said I'd only get the value credited toward purchasing a new AC unit - which I felt was overpriced. They said the employee involved was no longer with the company but never compensated me as originally stated. I would not use them again. read more

Do not use this company. The technicians are incompetent. They installed a new unit on my property in May of 2025. It has stopped working 5 times in the last 14 months. In every instance something was installed incorrectly. The company apologizes and tells you how they will make it right and then it breaks again. BUYER BEWARE. read more

Technician visited and upsell began. Minimal testing of unit and did not clean coils with coil cleaner, only water from my house. Tried to upsell on two items not needed for unit. Once great service struck down again after local owner sold out to large investment group. read more

They continually draft their monthly payments, but seem to overlook seasonal service. When r3mind3d they don't show up. You ask for a call from a manager and you are ignored. read more

The technician that serviced my HVAC was professional and well trained. However, in my opinion, their prices are shockingly high. They charged $662.00 to replace two home thermostats and their membership fee, which includes 2 semi-annual furnace inspections and a water heater/plumbing inspection is about $180.00. That is more than double other HVAC businesses. read more

I've used Kennon for years - on three separate properties. They were the only company that I would let touch my HVAC or plumbing. I'm not sure what's going on, but the service has gone WAY down. Customer service double books technicians and then lies to me telling me that I'm on the schedule for the day (when I'm not so the techs don't show). When that's not happening, I schedule a service for a specific time block and when I call to find out where the tech is, they tell me that they changed my time block WITHOUT TELLING ME, so it's day wasted, because I have other appointments and can't sit around waiting to see if they're going to show up then. I've tried to cancel my membership, and was told that someone would call me back to handle. I never received a call. This is beyond disappointing. The membership price is great, but I'd rather pay more elsewhere to have consistency and honesty. read more

I have used this company in the past and I have always been satisfied. Good name brand equipment, good installation, good service, and very competitive price. read more

Kennon has consistently provided professional, knowledgeable, affordable service. CJ arrived on time this morning for a plumbing service. He was able to quickly tell me the source of the issue. Once we concluded, he gave me options to prevent the problem in the future. Let me also mention that this was on a holiday. The service level is top tier and I will continue to use Kennon for my HVAC and plumbing needs. read more

e-edit and review for 10/2023 (Plumbing Review 1 star) I am not happy with their plumbing "one man" team. If there is one thing I despise from contractors, is being lied too, and their only plumber Richard Demerit is dishonest and badly planned. I have texts attached of the correspondence we had. This guy came in to check a tiny leak we were having from our pressure relief valve. We were trying to have the whole water heater system replaced, because it was outdated. We tried to get it done 2 weeks out to give time for them to get their materials ready and everyone can have time to plan. But nooooooo Mr Demerit insisted on getting it done asap (next day) When he failed to keep his word, I asked for another tech to come and fix it. Funny thing is this guy is the only plumber they have. I empathize with the CSR team because it is stressful to solve a problem and not have a clear back up plan when your only plumber isn't being wanted for a job, so I understand your frustration with me. Either way they sent out the manager ,Bill Buckner, which I'm still skeptical about, because he was an HVAC person installing my water heater. He had to come back a week later to fix the water pressure, after I called and complained about it. The guy didn't have a water meter key either FFS. He had to use the one I bought for my new home. I personally would like to know if this man was licensed to be doing plumbing work. I did not get a clear answer to this. They make the rest of your team look bad. The HVAC team actually cleaned up after themselves. I had to pick up all the leftover metal filings, slag,and water spilled by your "plumbing tech" or else he would have just placed the water heater pan over it. For AC: 5 stars They have phenomenal customer service. I kid you not these guys came and diagnosed the issue with logic not assumptions. This man came in and began running test around the house then provided me with a conclusion from his finds. He gave great advice. Thank you for our new ac system we are very happy. Edit: The HVAC pros that helped me out were Zachary Henderson and Mike Scrimo. Zach and his partner worked great as a team. Very focused on his job. He did all he could to not ding my walls while moving the ac unit which was amazing. Thank you so much for cleaning up after yourself too. This means the most to me. It shows integrity and pride in your work. Mr Mike Scrimo was the initial technician that ran his test around the home and gave us advice regarding our ac. I like that he relies on logic and not assumptions. Thanks for sharing your findings with me and taking time to explain in layman terms what the issue was in the system. We recently had an issue with our air conditioning. Kennon installed a new system for our house. We had a problem with it a week or two later which was not their fault. They spent a good amount of time addressing the problem. While they were waiting for the part they made sure we were comfortable with a room a/c for our bedroom. That thing was awesome. Their plumber Richard didn't have a good attitude at my house and acted on edge with me. He was pushy about pricing. When I asked questions he started acting like I was an annoyance. Friendly service, quick, arrived on time, solved the problem and AC is cooling again!

They came out very quickly and charged me a fair amount. They fixed my issue and I was very happy with the service.

I purchased six units from this company some time ago. I used the service for several years, but something has changed. I went to schedule a service and had to renew my membership. Before I did that, I asked how soon they could come to do the service. The scheduler told me she could not give me a date until I renewed my service membership after she charged my card. The date she gave me was three months out, "three months out" for a semiannual service. Obviously misleading to get a charge on my card! I asked her to refund my card because I could not wait that long. She told me she could not do that and had to check with John Claud. John Claud was supposed to call me right away. I have been waiting for an hour. I called back and got the same person who told me John Claude was on lunch break and would call me as soon as he returned. Remember, all I want is the charge on my card to be reversed since they could not provide the service in a relatively timely manner. Be careful dealing with them. I finally reached a supervisor (Alison). She told me it may take several days for them to process a refund to American Express! I called another HVAC company I use on another property. They will do the service two days from now. Kennon may have a shortage of technicians. Why are there such differences in service dates? Something is not right. One note: The new company charges me $172 less than Kennon for the same service membership. It was frustrating, but now I feel better. read more

Cost and service were great. Quick appointments too. The salesperson Blake was very helpful.

They came highly recommended. I was told to ask for the owner Clint (since retired). They came out the next day within the time frame promised. The service rep., Marlin Bowie was outstanding in every aspect. He quoted me $991 to fix everything at the onset. I was desperate, the house inside temperature was 88 degrees. I got the invoice the next day after requesting it. I do not know going rates, however most businesses waive the $79 service fee when they get the order, not them. They charged me $532 to replace a condensation pump that one can get at Home Depot or Amazon for around $70. Most companies double the cost. It is an easy replacement. They charged me $380 to spray 'special' chemicals on the outside condenser unit. I thought the service and 'before' communication was excellent. Very dissapointed about the pricing. read more

Just to let you know this company will not tell you everything there is to know about any maintenace agreement until you pay and then find out when the come to your home and tell you everything is an extra charge if needed. Who needs that kind of maintenance, especially when it come to the plumbing. Actually the same thing goes with the AC like filters or any of that. After spending 31000.00 you would think you can be treated fairly with another amount paid for a plan. Make sure they tell you everything before you give them any more money! read more

It all started with my annual Kennon Inspection. Alex located a small leak in my evaporator coil. He provided Excellent service. Blake provided an excellent quote on a Lennox 17 Seer 3 ton heat pump system, Reme Halo purification system, 5 inch filter system, and additional ducts to condition our lower family room.Others said that I would need a $4k mini split system. He also informed us about the $2000 federal tax credit on a 16 seer or higher heat pump, money saved! Rafael and his installation crew did an outstanding job with the installation! The contract was signed on Wednesday and the installation took place 5 days later. Looking forward to the comfort and the utility bill savings! read more

I was in a situation where I had to replace my HVAC unit in a houseboat and it was 93+ outside. The estimate was done quickly, but the install was delayed two days because they didn't take all the necessary measurements. I did get a newer model unit for the same price though (plus for Kennon). The install took 12 hours mainly because the installers didn't have everything they needed. I even had to loan a cart to haul the unit/equipment back/forth. So, there were many hours waiting for people to pick up items and I had to wait in the heat all day. The primary reason for a low score was I had specifically reminded them to plug my condensation pump in after the installation. When they were leaving, I asked if it was plugged in and they said yes. I then asked if they would double check. The guy went down in the hull and quickly came back up saying it was plugged in. Many days later, I needed to go into the hull and while down there saw water at the bottom (not a good thing). I climbed over the duct work, and sure enough, the pump was not plugged in. I then spent the next several hours pumping and cleaning up the water/mess all because the guy lied to me and was too lazy to really check. I called their office and was told a manager would be calling. It's been 6 days and no call. read more

Ac went out during summer. Had another company come out and fix issue. It was a temporary fix because a week later the same issue happened again. They came out for a second time and fixed again. Ac went out again. We had family coming into town and needed to get issue fixed asap. The company who did the originally couldn't come out so I called Kennon. They worked me in and resolved the issue. They replaced the same part the other company installed. Turns out their part was a better product. Haven't had any issues with Ac unit ever since. read more

Outdated policies. When making an appt for a new HVAC they asked if a "Mister will be present at the appt." I asked for clarification and they said it was their company policy. I informed them it was insulting and discriminatory on all fronts. Why... a.) do I need a "Mister" b.) do I need a spouse c.) why is this US Army Captain/woman/person/homeowner not enough by HERSELF to make a home financial decision? Kennon are your sales practices/screening discriminatory ? or just outdated on archaic practices. UPDATE YOUR POLICIES KENNON. This is 2021!!! read more

I have used this company for HVAC and plumbing. Honest, timely, quality and great service. Today, Matt Stewart came out to figure out why we couldn't run the shower and washer at the same time. Matt was early and stated what the problem should be, went downstairs to fix it and the previous owners had turn the knob to almost closed. Matt could have lied and charged us $500 for the "problem", instead he showed us and told us what happen. I noticed the pressure knob started to leak once the other knob was turned open. It was a drip leak and not serious. Matt stated he could adjust it and the problem would stop, but stated the valve was going bad. Since the hot water tank is in our basement apartment, I didn't want an issue in the future. Matt gave us a price to fix and and I had the work completed the same day. Matt cleaned up after himself and ensured we understood everything he completed and why it was done that way. I appreciate the honest and explanation. Will call them in the future for all my HVAC and plumbing needs! read more

Be careful when dealing with this company. Their quotes can and will be changed in the blink of an eye. They provided original quotes that started changing dramatically after the service was scheduled. If I had not been persistent in getting specific agreement I'm sure they would have jacked the prices up at the time of service. read more

I had bought an Ecobee wireless thermostat but the project was a little beyond my capability once I opened the box. I called Kennon on the day that I received the thermostat and it was recommended I try Kennon. I called them on an early Saturday afternoon and they returned my call within 10 minutes. Within 30 minutes they sent over the most polite, courteous, knowledgeable technician. Brandon was such a pleasure to work with and I would trust them with any project. I have a contract with them which I paid for upfront incase anything happens I was assured I would get priority in service. Well last night my pvc pipe cracked coming into my hot water heater. I called them and got a confirmed appointment for this morning. The girl from Kennon called me at 8am and said she has no one available till the 11th!! I explained my situation and she said sorry and understands if if I need to call someone else. That's what paying upfront does for you with them. NOTHING..
