Pickup Date: 6/14/2016 Delivery Date: 11/14/2016 Incident Description Relocations r us agreed to pick up my household and hold in storage and not ship until I arrived in california august 31, 2016...I was to get 1 month free...instead they picked up my goods and sent them to California arriving end of July when I was not there to accept delivery...they were aware because Crystal sent me an email telling me to advise when I would be ready for them to ship. When I arrived in San Diego, I contacted relocations are us to set up delivery on August 31, 2016.this was when I actually found out that they had shipped my things before hand and placed in an undisclosed public storage and allegedly placed the key under the mat...I was told that there was no trucker in area and they would call me when one was...I waited 2 weeks heard nothing so I called a gain.. I was told Noone was still unavailable to deliver my things. I waited another 2 weeks and called again...at this time I was told that I would need to hire my own moving company to deliver my household even though my contract was to include them delivering it. I told them they need to deliver my things or hire somone...they did not this went on with back and forth emails between myself and Carl Lopez 46 emails to be exact over another 2 months which brought me to November 14, 2016 when I have out of town family and needed my furniture and things. They would not ever provide me with the storage facility and I had to call every location in san diego and Noone has me listed on a unit...the moving company had their driver put the storage in his name ...finally I was able to get the drivers name from a 3rd party and track down my belongings. I hired a moving company because the relocation company had not paid the storage fees and my things were getting ready to be auctioned so I had to pay to get them out. I hired a moving company that had a 4 hour minimum and a last minute fee and a double travel time cost. $874.00 in addition I had to hire a locksmith to drill out the lock because no key was left under the mat to gain access another $175.00 emergency lockout cost. Mind you my son and I and I am permanently disabled have been extremely inconvience and hurt by sleeping eating sitting on floor in an empty apartment almost 3 months..we had no clothes or any of our comfort items. I video taped the lock smith opening just in case things were not there. We'll my things were missing and broken and scratched and dented and destroyed...I took pictures and sent to them.in addition there were a lot of items and furniture and even a safe that did not belong to ne...the relocation r us gave me other people's stuff and not mine...I contacted them and told them I'm leaving the items that not mine there and want to file a complaint and claim for my damages and missing things...it's been 5 days and they have yet to provide me with what I need to file...I want to file a civil suit not just for my things broken and missing but also for them breaching contract and not delivering my things and for my son and I being in horrible living situation for almost 3 months. read more

My !, my precious grandfather clock pendulam so bent, will not work, my 1 year old $2000. Sony tv, smashed!! Toolbox dropped, damaged and then not delivered! , AND THEY DOUBLED OUR PRICE FROM $2000 to $4000 !! WILL NOT UNLOAD ONE ITEM OFF THE TRUCK UNTIL YOU GIVE THEM CASH PAYMENT!! This company is a rip off. The name fits. Relocation R Us. They will relocate your savings account right into their pocket. After giving an itemized account of all of our items I was given a quote. When they came to move us they loaded half of our stuff on the truck. At that point I got a call from someone in their main office that said I was well over the cubic ft estimate. I kept asking how this could possibly happen since NOTHING was any different than the itemized list they were given. I had no option but to pay over $1800 more. And get this, they were doing me a favor and taking a loss. RIGHT!!! I was told that I was taking up a full truck, but when they delivered our stuff in the same size truck that they had picked it up in, they also had a motorcycle and furniture for another job going to Oregon. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and I can almost guarantee this same thing will happen to you if you use them. read more

This company was the worst to deal with. Do not deal with Blake ,he says he cares but doesn't .He will give you a direct line and cell number to use ,but doesn't answer when you call. He said the truck would come between 1 to 3 pm and then when you say they are late ,he will tell you the first job ran late because the stop had double the furniture . However when the truck does show up 2 hours late ,they say that never happened and this is the correct time to show up .Who is lying. The price almost doubled from $1,200 to between $1600 to $2400 after giving Blake a complete inventory. I found them rude and it was like they were doing us a favor . I moved to another state from New York to California (Los Angeles). I contacted several movers regarding my move and was on a tight budget to spend only 1400 dollars. I literally had three pieces of furniture, a few paintings and 18 boxes. Relocation R Us quoted me the best price of $1400 based on my inventory list. I asked them if they were a moving broker and the sales rep, Sam assured me they weren't. I got a "binding contract" in the email stating that they would give me $50 off and because of my items, it would be $1350. I was happy. I decided to go with them. I was told to put down $245 to hold it and pay $555, upon arrival and pay a $550 balance when they arrive in Cali. However, this was all a LIE. Once the movers arrived and checked my stuff in, the price jumped to $1745.50 based on the "cubic space", which was more than any other mover quoted me. There were only 3 more additional boxes. I didn't see him compute anything or weigh. On the contract it states " This estimate is based solely on the inventory list that you the customer have provided to our company." My estimate was only 3 boxes off (as u can see in this email biding contract items and the pic of items he picked up). I was pressured into giving a tip, which took all the money I had from my pocket. In fact the man was pressuring me to give more even thou I told him that I was told to pay this amount. I only took out that amount from the bank. They told me that I had to give half of the money despite what I was told about $555. I didn't have it. By this time, they had all my items on the truck. I gave him the $550 as stated over the phone. I contacted the customer service department letting them know what happened and someone name Carl called me. I am not satisfied with the company and how they lied to me. I had to give $874.50 when they showed up to Cali with my things. Carl never called me back who is the Manger to resolve anything. In fact, I was never given an accurate delivery date. The delivery man told me I would have my items delivered by Sept 27th. That was a lie. They showed up out of the blue on a Monday, October 10th and it was a different company. They SOLD my items to someone else even though in the beginning I was assured that it wasn't a broker. I had to run to the bank and give $874 dollars in order for them to release my items. They knew nothing about our previous agreement of course. read more

The only reason I'm even giving one star is because I have to, Blake originally quoted me $1200 for my move from New York to Missouri. Than when they came to pick up the load they wanted $2500. After about 5 hours of trying to get a hold of them and the "cell phone" number Blake gave to me, I got it down to 1659 because I had a quote from another company and they didn't want to lose my business. Than the supervisor Carl told me he's doing me a favor by giving me this price!! They claimed I had 520 cubic feet and that's why the price went up, but I measured it myself and it was exactly what I had told them in the beginning, 375. This company is the most dirty sly company I have ever dealt with, they claimed they don't use brokers etc, that's all they do. The crew that dropped off my things was fantastic and it's a shame that this company does what it does. Never trust them. Never trust Blake who will sweet talk you and act like he cares, when all they want is your money. I highly recommend using Sega Transportation, speak to Mike he is actually trustworthy and warned me about exactly what was going to happen. Relocation R us agreed to tip my drivers both ways as a way to keep my business, and obviously they didn't. They never even saw the drivers with my things as they were brokers. First of all pick of furniture four hours late. Then over charge for load almost double the amount I was quoted. Waited 7 days for load and it was loaded up on June 28th. Almost a month they had. Was told 10 days it took. Over a month. Call Jon about where my order was no voice mail had to call customer service. That's a joke. They don't care about your load. Then finally at 6:30 the order came boxes damaged and just thrown around. The driver charged another 250 for the move because had to load on uhaul because semi wouldn't fit. There were other orders on the uhaul too. Wanted cash only when I had a cashiers check which Jon said you could do. Jon talked a good game but they are just like any movers. They don't care. One kid was unloading my load and the driver very bossy and ride. I will never use again. I will sell my stuff before I move again. read more

DON'T EVER USE THESE PEOPLE!!! THEY ARE DREADFUL!!! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I had scheduled for the movers to show up at 9 am on Saturday and they called 2 days before saying they could not be there till 11. I informed them I had other things that needed to be done so they could not be later than that. I got a call the day of and they said they would be at the house between 11 and 1pm. I reminded them that they said they would be here at 11 and they said they were sorry that a pickup before that had slowed them down. At 1:30 they called after I had called the company many times with no reply. They informed me they were and hour out. At 2:30 they finally made it to the house. I have very few items but it took 3 guys almost 2 hours because they moved so slowly. On top of that we had another 8 items at the storage unit that had to be picked up as well. Which took another hour. At this point I was extremely late for all my appointments. While they were loading I gave specific instructions for items that needed extra care and those items had been specified in my contract as well. Not to mention my apartment is non smoking building and I am highly allergic to smoke which all 3 guys reeked of. I even had to tell one of them that he could not smoke on the property. Later during business hours I called Relocation R Us to let them know what had happened and they never returned my call or email. Upon delivery the shipment did arrive sooner than expected and that was good. However, that was the only thing that was good. The mover Igor would not give a specific time nor narrow it down and I had to call Relocation R Us numerous times till I finally got a range smaller than 11 hours. The mover was beyond rude and very disrespectful. When they were unloading two antique items that I had specified were supposed to be taken care of in a special way were both broken. I was beyond upset as this was part of the things I had specified in the contract and paid extra and was assured there would be no problems. I was in tears. One item was my great grandmothers 110 year old chest and the other a writing desk from the 40's that was my other grandmothers. Both broken due to negligence. I called the company many times and let them know what was going on when things arrived. Also, I was told I could use a cashiers check and the driver would not accept anything but cash or postal cashiers check (which I checked with the bank and that is the same thing). On top of that I was signing the paper to get my things saying that they had been indeed dropped off. The driver new I was under duress and that he and his team were responsible for breaking items. On the new paper there was a section that has you waive the insurance coverage for so much a pound. As a result they will not pay the value of the chest needed to be fixed or the desk. This is part of Relocation R Us policy and procedure as they would not return my call or emails for weeks and then finally sent me a link to place my claim. I then went to put the information in and that is when I had found out the contract had been switched under my nose while I was in duress. I will never use this company again. This is bad business and such a rip off. I am considering getting a lawyer. I don't know how I missed all the bad reviews from this company but the better business bureau will be notified as well. Please stay away from this company at all costs or you will lose not only your furniture but your money. It started out with a quote of 1200 dollars for 1 room of furniture for my daughters move from long island to S. Carolina, as she is in the navy and is moving for her orders. They get to the house in a budget truck rental and tell me i have more cubic feet than thought (seems to be a recurring theme in these reviews). They now want to charge us 2000 dollars. We refuse and tell them to be on their way, so the salesman/broker Blake is called and he talks us down to 1650 (which is 450 more than we were originally quoted). My husband agrees to that. We then call the next morning to ask on the progress of the truck and when we state we think it will get there thi weekend the broker Blake says "what planet are you on??? if you think this will get there in a few days", then hangs up on us. We try desperately to contact someone including cell phone numbers after the hang up and of course nobody calls back. We finally get someone to call back after 3 days and he states we should get our stuff in a day or two. Remember 3 days have already passed. Now my husband and I rent a car and drive down to S. Carolina so as not to leave my daughter in the hands of these people on delivery day. Every day we call we are told it will not be for another day. We are handed off from one broker ,(they call themselves supervisors) , to another now Patrick no longer answers our call and we are up to Karl. Karl says Thursday night. No furniture as of Thursday night. Then early Friday. No furniture Friday. At this point if i don't call anonymously, my calls are not answered and we are being spoken to as if we are the criminals. Finally Saturday 8 days after the original pickup, the truck arrives. It is an 18 wheeler. These people were told day one and at the sales call that my daughter is in a gated community , three flights up, no elevator. The guy Louis then proceeds to tell me he'll work with me if i pay him to open the truck otherwise it will take another 1000 dollars to haul the stuff from the street to the apartment as they charge per foot and per step. Remember they were told this from the beginning about the apartment. We end up at the side of the road, taking our furniture out unwrapping it ourselves, with keys as the guy couldn't even give us a knife to cut the wrappings off that he must collect before he leaves. WE ask 2 kind gentlemen with trucks to help us get it from the side of the road to our dtr's apt. We had to pay Louis 100 dollars to open the truck doors and hand us our things while he watched us unwrap and carry everything to the apt ourselves in 99 degree heat. This is what we paid for already. If you do not want to be professionally robbed and have your things held hostage on the side of the road, DO NOT hire these criminals. This should not happen to anyone. We paid what they asked. We were left on the side of the road to fend for ourselves. Oh, and also, things came damaged and they neglected to give us some of our things because we did not go down the written list because we were forced to hurry up and just take the things so Louis could get to his next move. We used this company if you can call it that, last summer. Blake was our contact, and he eagerly said he was in Rochester (the area to which we moved) Later we found out he is actually" rents" office space downtown, but really is in New Jersey. We were quoted a very fair price, which increased by two thousand the day the movers arrived to load. They then HAD to take the truck to NJ for the night, and deliver our goods the next day. The loaders had the nerve to ask my husband for a tip !! Deliver day came. 8 am. Nine am, Ten am. NO truck. All our calls to Blake were ignored. Finally at ten thirty, we get a call from the guys. They arrived an hour later. They unpacked very nicely, did a good job. If we had not had trouble finding a mover in Central Pa, we would NEVER USED these crooks !! If you work with Matt, which I don't suggest you do, be prepared to pay A LOT more than the estimate he gives you. I sold my condo before I bought my house so I had to move all my stuff into storage. I told him that it took me a 20 ft truck to move my stuff and he promised me that 573 cubic ft would be all I needed. He wasn't even close!!!! He gives you a low estimate so you use them and then you're stuck paying a lot more unless you cancel. However, the foreman, Ali was terrific. The guys were professional and the guys packaged everything very well. They were easy to deal with and delivered my furniture with no damage. read more

STAY AWAY!!! We hired this company to move us from Texas to Iowa. When the movers loaded our house, they told us that we had 3 times the cubic feet that was quoted and had to pay 3 times our quote. We were on a very tight deadline to be out of our sold home and wrote the check. Then when we called to have them deliver to our new home , they said it would take 3-5 days but after the 5th day, we still had no furniture. It took us 2 weeks of calling the company to see what was going on before they finally returned our calls. They informed us that everything was loaded and going out that day and would be delivered within 48 hrs. After 2 days , still no furniture so we contacted the BBB in New York and submitted a complaint. The next day when Relocation R us rec'vd the complaint from BBB, they called us to make arrangements to deliver our furnishings. They told us that they normally don't go to Iowa and it would take up to 2 weeks to find a truck to deliver in our area. This was not told to us when we were quoted for the move. After 10 days, they finally had a truck coming our way. It was to arrive before 7:30pm but arrived after 10:30pm. When we inspected the truck with our furnishings, we measured the cubic feet to be just what we were quoted. Almost every piece of furniture had scratches and dents. We had the drivers sign a statement to the size of our load and confirmed it was actually 3 times less than what we were charged. We contacted Relocation R Us to inform them that we were over charged and when could we expect the refund. They still have declined to refund our overpayment unless we sign a GAG order that does not allow us to contact BBB or any other company with this bad review. I have been meaning to write this review since June 2016. Using this company was an overall nightmare. I took my blank pills regarding this situation but I promised myself I had to write and warn others.I have been moved a number of times via corporate, and those experiences have always been very good with absolutely no issues. I thought trying this company for a move from Texas to Tennessee would have been okay. Bottom line is I got reamed!!!! Those who I dealt with were nothing bunch of hustlers and I was taken advantage of. I will start with the fact that the "quote" was totally fictitious to get the job, and after the quote but before the move MANY heavy and large items landed up being sold. I was told that I would save at least another $600 but in the end the end I had to pay more than twice the original quote. I was never able to speak with the sales person who quoted the move again! He would never return my calls. The driver was a liar, and items were lost and a few broken. I never even bothered to file a claim because the way this moving business thing is structured would make for a complete waste of time for close to no return! Stay away from these guys. I would never recommend anyone using this company after having the experience I had with them. I had all my boxes in a center hallway so it would be convenient for them to take them right out the front door. First problem I had was when they told me they would be arriving at 8am but didn't get to my house until 8pm. Once they got there, the boxes were supposed to be numbered, but some boxes were being taken out the door without being counted. The lead worker told me they were putting numbers on them outside, which I knew couldn't be because he was holding the counting stickers. He tried to get me out of the way so I couldn't see what they were doing. Then he told me that the fee was $500.00 more than I was quoted. When I told them that they wouldn't be getting a tip if I had to pay that much more, all of a sudden the fee went down. The lead man also told me not to be surprised if my belongings didn't get to me for at least a week. It didn't get to me for 2.5 weeks. When it did arrive, all my boxes were damaged to the point that the boxes were splitting at the seams the plastic containers were crushed and wouldn't go back into shape. MANY of my fragile items were broken, even my large safe was damaged, and in order to gain access into it, we had to break into it and then threw it away. The commercial that shows movers throwing boxes down the stairs would have been better than what this moving company did to mine. I also have a few boxes missing, but since they rushed me to sign saying they delivered everything, I can't file a complaint about them missing. I have moved before using other moving companies, but have never experience anything so horrific. read more

Although we did have some issues with our move, the management really did a good job of making it work and they treated us with the theory that the customer is always right. Literally the worst experience I have EVER had with a moving company. I've moved 9 times in the past 6 years and have never been this stressed ad frustrated. Not only were the movers 6 hours late, they were also impossible to contact ALL DAY. After calling 10+ times and leaving 6 voicemails, I FINALLY got a call back 2 hours AFTER the end of the scheduled time frame. At this point, they finally let me know they were running behind. The movers themselves were incredibly rude. I was given little to no sympathy for my troubles (I had stayed in my apartment all day, despite the fact that a friend was in the ER). They only started moving myself at 9:30pm and did not finish until 12AM, after which one of the movers literally just walked out of my apartment. No goodnight, no apologizes, no goodbye. Nothing. Was supposed to get my stuff later that week. Couldn't reach ANYONE from the moving company ALL WEEK. The day before my stuff was scheduled to come, I get a call saying that they are backed up and will not be able to get me my stuff AT ALL this weekend. Still have no stuff, no clue what time they are bringing my stuff, and will now be sleeping on the floor since I have NOTHING. Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. Stay Far, Far away! Stay far, far away from a company that quotes one price, loads your goods and then holds you and the goods hostage because they have doubled the estimate. They are brokers and not a moving company, they lie about that. They lie about being a family owned "A" rated company who has their own line of trucks, be prepared a Budget Rental Truck is what will show up. They lie about their employees being background checked, they don't- because clearly I had people show up that were not in this country legally. They did not come with adequate supplies-had to run to Home Depot to buy more boxes, they did not have a hand truck, or tools to disassemble items, and not enough men to handle the job. They also did not have mattress boxes, and damaged a $2500. organic latex mattress because they bent it in half! I also paid for a packing service at $1000. which was anything but...they dumped drawers and items into boxes and taped them shut. My things were treated like garbage. They also lied about where my goods would be stored until drop off, was told Rochester and it went to some warehouse in NJ. The story seems to be the same, lies, lies and more lies, doubling the estimate after they have your goods, hiring uncaring and dishonest workers and treating your goods like garbage. As many others have said here, do NOT use this company. I would love to have a negative star rating. We used this company to move our stuff from Dallas to Tampa in July 2016. I spoke and corresponded with Jon who gave me a good quote. That was the last of the good points. I was not happy to have a man and his two young sons pull up in a rented U-Haul to pack our belongings. It wasn't until ALL of items had been packed on the truck that he mentioned the final bill was DOUBLE the quote. At no time during the process did he mention we were close or at the cubic foot limit in the quote. At that point, I should have had him unload it all, but I thought this was a mistake and could be handled satisfactorily. Lesson learned. I called Jon and also talked with Carl several times to get things resolved. They did come down slightly on the revised price, but not much. Because of the disagreement, our stuff was removed from the schedule, which pushed back the delivery of our things for 3 weeks! Again we were not given a definite date of when our things would arrive. Eventually, the truck driver sent word he would arrive in 3-4 days. When we finally received our items, many of the boxes were crumpled and looked like they had gotten soaked. Several of our items were damaged and had to be thrown out. After a day or so, we realized we were missing a couple boxes which had things like new tennis rackets, baseball bats, etc. I attempted to contact the driver, but heard nothing. It was a miserable experience. If it's still in business, NEVER use this company. read more

What a horrible moving company. It's amazing what people will do for money. They originally charged me and my husband 1200. Blake was the guy who told my husband "I promise you it will not be more". He sounded very sincere on the phone and caring. We were so happy we got such a nice moving company and what an amazing price right? 1 month later when they were due to come, they came and then that's when we realized what horrible lying pricks these people were/are. We were at my family which lives in Miami at the time so we were communicating by phone. The movers said we will not take your stuff if u don't pay us 2500!!!!! Is that outright outrageous???? My husband being the man he is who will not bed reward over by anyone put his foot down and fought. He called another company and said what this company was charging us. These guys are BROKER company. STAY AWAY from these guys and their sister companies. They will do anything to get your business; lie about themselves and competitors. They will give you a low quote and once to sign up, their guys will at least triple the quote on the day of move when they come with their truck. Pay up the guys who came for pickup and he may reduce it to twice the original quote (as if he is doing you a favor). Then, once they load you stuff on the truck, you will never be able to reach them, NEVER. Your entire household stuff will be in their possession with no way of tracking it. They accept cash only, except that one time when you make the initial payment. They won't unload unless you pay in full. Lot of our stuff was damaged. We had a full package plan with them and they turned up without proper packing supplies. They did not even have bubble wrap. When I booked my move with these guys there were no reviews on Yelp. I wish all these reviews were there back then. Most likely these guys will just change their names and register another company next moving season (May to September). BEWARE. Stay FAR FAR away from these people. Nice when trying to arrange you to use their company, downhill from there. Pricing kept going UP after the fact they already had my belongings! Told they were going to use their truck to move my belongings to main tractor trailer yeah right, they drove down in a BUDGET truck (which I could have gotten myself), had 2 men, total of 4 (2 I found out were from CRAIGs list and lived in my new neighbor hood)! Requested more money when arrived told them already borrowed money from the 2nd time they up the price. Told had to give another $500 and amazingly the main man that delivered pulled me aside and asked how much can you afford (a little shady if you ask me). I was talked down to from Blake (my contact) telling me I better find a way to get monies. Then after getting money men only put belongings garage, never delivered inside my home nor did they set up beds as contract states! Then to be told only 90% of belonging delivered, and for an extra fee would bring last 10% to us. The whole situation was nerving and I couldn't wait to get them out of my driveway! Had to go back (oh I forgot to mention moved not just to another area but another STATE) to NY to get 10% of belongings! Would NOT recommend this company to ANYONE! Since ZERO is not an option, I had to choose 1 star. This company starts by giving you a written estimate and will tell you they will beat or match other estimates. What that is easy for them to do over the phone because what they do (and you will read other reviews stating this) is that they wait until they get your stuff on their truck and then tell you hours later that the cubic footage is more than what was estimated and then tell you that you owe hundreds more and they don't give you the option of taking the stuff back off the truck. Then they contacted me and asked me what time I would like it delivered and when I told them I had an appt the next day from 7AM to 9AM, they say that can't deliver it after 9AM. So they told me that would be at my apt at 6am. I told them I had to leave at 6:30am but when they got their at 6am I would have their money and the keys and would let them know where the apt was. I was at apt at 5:45am and waited until 6:45am in the lobby along with the girl that works there. They never showed or called. I started receiving texts and phone messages around 7am saying they were there and I was not. When I called the manager, he went off on me and when I told him I was there and had proof that I was there and they were not, he said he didn't need any proof and that is wasn't "court." He went on for about 20 minutes (I had to put him on speaker and put the phone down because he rambled on ... oh, he said he was the manager that is listed on the BBB site too.) This was Tuesday and he said they wouldn't deliver my stuff until Saturday. Saturday they get there and of course they want their money (cash or money order) first. Then when I show them the apartment, one of the three guys tell me there will be another charge for walking more than 150 feet. There wasn't even any steps. The truck was pulled up to the loading dock, double doors open to hallway to elevator. They knew I lived in an apartment on the 15th floor. They said they were there Tuesday morning so I don't know why they didn't mention this extra charge then. I told him I wasn't paying anymore money and he could just take my stuff and leave because I wasn't going to deal with them anymore or give them any more money. He said fine and that he would deliver it up to the apartment. The three guys basically just through the stuff inside the door. Very unprofessional. They were talking to each other in another language and huffing and puffing around. They are running a scam. I did file a complaint with the BBB. read more
