Absolute worst property management company! I was interested in a rental and called to schedule a viewing, but was told I couldn't see it until September because it was currently occupied. A few days later, I started getting automated emails saying it had been leased. When I finally managed to get someone on the phone again, they confirmed it was off the market. If they allow people to rent sight-unseen, they should have been transparent about that from the start. Better yet, don't post a property for rent if it's not actually available for people to view. It feels like the staff member I spoke with deliberately held it for someone specific instead of giving everyone a fair shot. Completely unfair, terrible communication, and a total waste of time. My review stands: As a renter, I would not want to deal with Laura's bad attitude. As a landlord, I would not want her representing me and putting off potential tenants. In response to the businesses' response: No, it is not my fault or my perception that was the problem. You should not blame the client. Not only was Laura rude, she was uninformed on the property and did not make an effort to get the information. I understand you work as a team, but that's also not an excuse. Teams make an effort to get information from each other. I also work in a team, and if someone asks me a question, I don't brush them off telling them to talk to someone else. Made a reservation online with these folks. Paid upfront the full rental amount plus a large deposit. I get it no biggie. Then came the paperwork and verification (keep in mind this is on top of the rental property website which already asks for all kinds of verification and a credit card). But ok, I get it. 100% refund if canceled before a certain date. I ended up having to cancel. Got 2/3 of my deposit back within a couple of days via the credit card (like you would expect) where it was debited. But didn't get the other 1/3. After a few more days I had to reach out to ask them when will I get the rest. They proceeded to tell me there was a glitch with the credit card system (didn't know this was a thing). I have owned businesses in the past and have worked with credit card systems before. Yes, they have issues but if you work with them they eventually fix it. Nope, not with these folks, they said we can't refund the amount via "check". A check? In 2023, a check, for a credit card payment? What the? Long story short, I finally got a check almost 2 weeks later and multiple emails back and forth. Amateur hour to say the least. read more

This company has been helping me with my rental for 4 years! Kristina's team are all professionals and are very knowledgeable of Ventura County. They helped me find a great tenant and manage my townhome. I rely on them in all factors on renting my property. I get a call every now and then about maintenance requests but most of the time, I just wait to get paid! The office is very busy but I always get a call back whenever I leave a voicemail. If you're a property owner and looking for an agency to handle renting your property for you, caveat emptor with this group. They represent the renters' interests, not yours. So the glowing reviews you see from renters I'm sure are true. I had two absolutes with my vacation-rental condo: no smoking and no pets. You know the punchline: I had both. Cigarette butts in the garbage disposal, my dishes used as ashtrays, pee-marks on bedding. And that's the small stuff. If you would like more details reach out to me directly. They apparently don't do exit inspections, instead simply refunding the damage deposit to the renter (good news if you're a renter). So when you find the damage inflicted on your property - some so glaringly evident a blind person could see it - the money on account to cover any damage is gone and you're on the hook for the fixes. In fairness, one of the reasons I rented was to update appliances and a few other fixes, and in that regard, my experience was successful. But the lack of concern for my condo's overall condition was, in the end, unacceptable. I have expressed my concerns in a detailed letter to Kristina, the agency manager, and I hope my concerns have been addressed. But I fear they may not have been. If you're a property owner, and you engage this agency, be aware. Be fully aware. read more

Kristina and her entire team work well together and have excellent communication. They are hard working, personable and professional and it's been nothing but a pleasure having them care for my property - making sure it's profitable and well taken care of. We live in Washington state and we owned a property in Port Hueneme. We chose this company to manage our property there and I can't tell you how happy I am we found them. Absolutely the most professional and courteous management team I have ever worked with. They kept our long term rental property occupied for us and the tenants were happy with their service as well whenever there were issues to deal with. Their fees are extremely reasonable and their service is top notch. We recently sold the property and I am very worried we won't be able to find another company in Arizona for our new property that will give us even close to the same level of service. I was moving and needed to rent my home out. I decided to hire a property management company since I would be far away. I met with Kristina Brewer, the manager at Remax Gold Coast Property Management, she was professional and came prepared with information on my home and comps. She made me feel confident that Remax was the best choice to manage my rental. I was so reassured that I hired them that day, but unfortunately it all went downhill after that. 1. When I received the rental contract the fee percentage to the property management was incorrect so I had to get that corrected. Minor but a mistake. 2. Also, I didn't think the pictures taken of my property showcased the rental (I could have taken better pictures) and it took about a month to rent out my home. This still wasn't a huge issue, but it happened. 3. Prior to that Kristina was constantly trying to convince me to lower the rental price, which I didn't want to do. I felt that the whole time she just wanted to lower the rent so it would rent fast without regard to the price I said I wanted. 4. While my home was being prepared for rental, Remax had hired a handyman, painter, and carpet cleaner. The carpet cleaner did a great job and the price was reasonable but the quote for the paint was astronomical. It was $800 to patch a few nail holes and paint! Who's the painter Picasso? It was just touch up work and I couldn't believe they would use a vendor to do touch up work at that cost. After the first month I decided to lower the rent price, but wanted to continue with my original price until the following week. On the same day I advised Kristina of the change, a new application came in. I made sure she knew this application was for the original price and Kristina confirmed it was. I accepted the application at my original rental price. 5. Then I got a message from Kristina saying one of her assistants sent the rental contract to the tenants with lowered rent to sign. I don't know why she called me since this was obviously her office's mistake to fix. She told me I should give them the lower rent amount because they might get upset and back out. Obviously Remax didn't want to explain they made a mistake! Remax fixed the contact and everything was resolved. 6. We then had termite work done on the property which again took forever to complete as everything else did with this company. 7. The termite company needed paint which I thought was something that could easily be handled by Remax. When I received my owners report I saw there was a charge for $160. I later found out the charge was for the paint and delivery. I of course was not happy, because who in their right mind would think it's okay to charge $115 to buy and drop off two cans of paint? I was even more blown away when I found out the majority of the cost was not for paint but for the delivery $90 local! This is what the property management's handyman charges and you would think they would have better prices since they use him exclusively. If I would have known this, I would have bought the paint and had it delivered myself (sherwin williams delivers for free). 8. They are disorganized, gouge you on vendor charges, and have terrible follow up. I had to keep asking when things would get done and never felt they were working for my benefit. Poor customer service. 9. Even my tenants complained to me they weren't receiving follow ups. You would think they would be better since they have so many employees but it seems like no one knows what the other person is doing there. I will say Kristina was helpful at times, but she made a lot of mistakes and the majority of her staff needs to be better trained. 10. Also, it states in the property management contract that Remax does a 6 month inspection of the rental property while it's being rented which they never did. Once the management contract ended I didn't renew it. 11. The next month I got a call from my tenants saying after paying the rent directly to me, Remax also completed an auto debt from their account for the rent! Of course the tenants were not happy and had incurred ODF because of it. I had to contact Remax to make sure the tenants got all of their money back right away. I now manage my rental from over 1000 miles away, i work directly with my tenants, and have no stress in doing so. This company stinks at property management but they also do vacation rentals and I have to admit that when some friends and I had to use them to rent a house on the beach we had a good experience. Our rental coordinators, Andrea and Gabby were both very helpful and attentive. I was surprised this experience was so easy, from booking to our departure. I wouldn't recommend using this company for property management, but if you need a vacation rental ask for Gabby or Andrea. read more

This company so far the worst to rent from. I rented half of my life and never EVER had to pay for maintenances. They take forever to to send someone and then charge tenant for it. Benefit of renting is having company do there job. If I known I'm responsible for maintenance I would find my own people for cheaper price. I pay my rent on time and never been late. But every time you request stuff to be done they take forever or tenant have to call in multiple time to get shit done. read more

Without a doubt - the best management company in the business. My story is kind of long, but completely worth it... So I had booked a beach house on another website for my mother's 70th birthday celebration, which was at the end of August. I paid for everything, booked flights (I live in Illinois) and rental cars and was all set and excited to spend a week on the beach celebrating my mom. Two week prior to our arrival, I get a call from the owner of the house I was renting saying they did not believe I was having a 70th birthday celebration, but rather a much more rowdy bachelorette party, so they cancelled my reservation. I begged, pleaded, did everything I could, and they just couldn't care less. Now I was 2 weeks out from my trip, with no house. I was put in contact with Andrea at ReMax who calmed my nerves almost immediately. She was prompt, professional and most important, re-assuring that we would find a house. There were still plenty of great places to choose from, and I ended up choosing (with Andrea's recommendation) Mollies by the Sea. The house could not have been more perfect for me and my family. It was fully stocked, had everything you could possibly need. Andrea and ReMax saved my mother's birthday celebration. I truly don't know where I would have been without them. The people working here don't return telephone calls or respond to emails in a timely manner. I'm a renter and I looked at unit listed on the MLS at $2400 a month including utilities I also wanted to look at another unit and I scheduled a showing and of course, nobody showed nor did they contact me saying the showing was canceled. I put in an application on Friday and don't receive a copy of the contract until the following Saturday, I had to call, email and text a dozen times to get them to complete the contract. When i received the contract the agreement said $2800 plus $350 extra for utilities, more than a 30% increase. read more

My boyfriend applied and I was secondary. When Alli asked if we could do double deposit he told her he was comfortable with one and a half times the rent and if you could please ask the owner after five phone calls and two weeks later I finally got Allí on the phone to which she said The owner had said no. Two weeks prior. As angry as I was I asked if I could re-apply on my own since I did meet the criteria completely in my own. She said sure. I talked to my boyfriend he was fine with it. So I called her back numerous times again for two weeks NOTHING. Then I see that you have dropped the price. So I drove in. Instead of being an adult she asked the receptionist to say she was out to lunch. Here I am two weeks later getting condescended by an incompetent manager instead of an apology and an explanation. Classy. Thanks for proving my point. I will be snap posting this to all my social media. Don't worry I will never use a Remax agent rent a Remax managed property or buy a Remax home so we will never have to interact again. read more
