This has left us without a functional kitchen for 10 months. It is effecting our entire lives. Rick Newman of Beachside Builders has not had any work done at the house in over 7 weeks and left the kitchen in ruin. Rick refuses to provide an itemized bill and said "how would I know what work I've done." If you choose to use Beachside Builders, do not pay them until they complete work.

Of course, it was more than just signing papers and sending them back - I had to contact other agencies and financial institutions for records, which would take several days. When I told Chicago Title Company this, their response was a simple "Noted." in an e-mail, and an even worse attitude than before. Despite their lack of proactive support, the real estate deal did go through, but they failed to send the correct paperwork to my (now former) homeowner's association. The HOA began threatening all sorts of wonderful things unless I brought my account current. After three phone calls and an e-mail threatening civil action against Chicago Title, they finally sent the paperwork, but didn't bother telling me - I had to follow up with the HOA and only then found out things were properly squared away. In something as big as a real estate transaction, you need to be assured your title company has your back - these people are not trustworthy. Beware!
