I Stopped in for the first time on a Saturday to grab a London Fog to go and was pretty impressed with the quality of the beverage that I was handed. They only offer one size cup for some of the beverages which im not such a fan of. My London Fog looked to be about a medium in comparison to a place like Second Cup. It tasted great though and seemed to have some kind of extra ingredient that gave it a bit of a kick. It seemed to be really busy but the staff appeared to be handling it well and were still very friendly and sociable. The seating there seems to be geared towards large groups with only four bar stools for individual patrons so I don't know that this is the type of place I would eat in at and bring a book to which I tend to like to do at Starbucks and Second Cup, I will probably be back next time I am down that way to shop at Wee Book Inn. Like I said the drink was excellent and they have alot of interesting food options I wish to sample I just think I would prefer this as a to go option versus a sit down and relax place. read more

I love Remedy and I much prefer the downtown location to the one nearer Whyte, which always makes my hair smell like curry. Remedy delivers both delicious Chai (duh) as well as a decent selection of beer. I've tried a few of their foods too, and I love the vegan/vegetarian options, even though I am neither. My only complaint is lack of seating. There's been many days where I've come in to relax and found no available chair and am forced to take my beverage to go. Alas, I keep trying. read more

When I come to Remedy Cafe, I usually hit up this location since it is close to work. I usually come here to get my chai latte fix and will occasionally have lunch here. I would say that they have the best chai lattes in town. It is always busy but most busy over the lunch hour. I came here last night for dinner with a friend. When I come to this location, I usually order the Dosa since it is amazeballs! However, I decided to try something different. We both ordered the Coconut Chicken accompanied with a beer. The chicken was tender and the coconut curry was delightful. I love coconut so I was pleased to be able to really taste it among the other wonderful spices in the sauce. The rice was a little on the dry/hard side but nothing that the curry sauce couldn't fix. My friend also enjoyed it. I love this cafe!! It's the perfect destination after a stroll down Jasper Ave. Whether it's a hot or cold day they have delicious choices to warm you up or cool you off. Food I find is well priced and more filling than it looks. I've worked downtown for a few years, and this Remedy is right across the street from my employer. It has been a regular and a favorite place (of mine and my friends') for morning and afternoon lattes, chais, and treats. (I have literally worked my way through 4 or 5 of their punch cards in the last 3 years...) I remember once or twice in the past, a drink order was incorrect, and upon notifying the staff, they made the correct drink (free of charge) and insisted that I take BOTH (to give the incorrect one away, to a friend, etc). Occasionally a latte has been too strong for my taste, and they've never hesitated to throw a splash more milk in. Today I placed a lunch order for a work meeting, which consisted of almost 20 different orders of food. Since I work so close, instead of using the catering service, I asked if I could call the order in early on the same day and come pick it up. No problem, they said. It was ready on time, the orders were perfect, nothing was missed. The staff allowed me to quickly jump in at the start of line to pay for the order. They even let us borrow an insulated container to carry all the food in (which kept it all hot until the meeting)! 10/10 definitely recommend. This location is on my way to work each morning. It is so difficult to walk by without stopping in! Whether it be for some Bloom Cookies, or an Almond Milk Chai Latte! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it is so hard to decide what to get as they have a fantastic menu! Whether you're raw, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian or a meat eater- You will find happiness here! They also offer a discount if you work/live in the area. If your not vegan this place is a great option to grab a drink and a snack, maybe a cake or a samosa, but if you are look for a reasonably priced solid meal, go somewhere else. I have spent hours in Remedy drinking chai and eating samosas but if your planning on coming and not looking to spend much money- don't come too hungry. The price is simply not worth the amount. I've been here about a million times. There is a reason everyone talks about their chai... it's the best. The spicy, creamy latte is served in a giant mug, that usually say's 'Be Spicy... Drink Chai'- it's cute. In the summer, they serve an iced chai in a pint glass and it's every bit as good as the hot version. It's not all about the drinks though. This affordable Indian inspired menu is perfect for lunches or a quick dinner. The butter chicken wrap is a staples on the menu and comes with a stick, sweet dip. Yum. The lamb curry is absolutely fantastic and must be cooked for hours as the lamb just melts in your mouth. They offer a variety of vegan and gluten free treats at the bar and are also fully licensed. Nothing goes better with a curry than a pint. You don't need to have alcohol, their drink selection is extensive - from about 50 different teas, pop, juices, beers and mango lassie. This my second time here. It is better than my first time here. I had the 2 samosa and chai combo for $7.50. The samosas are pretty good, the 'chai' is perfect for white people and not objectionable to everyone else. The best that can be expected from a place as 'hip' as this. I tend to go for the Chai (This is the closest I've gotten to the best chai tea I've had and that was in India!). I've also had the Coconut London fog and also the Coconut Matcha latte ( I clearly have a coconut obsession!) and both were very yummy! The wraps are very tasty! My usual is the palak paneer wrap. It comes with this delightful sweet sauce. I've recently tasted one of their dessert. A chocolate almond torte which was gluten free. I am not gluten intolerant but this place is very accommodating to those who are with many GF items on their menu. There are now four Remedy locations in Edmonton which is great! This is a great place to bring a book and read or people watch (I've done both!). Great atmosphere as well. read more

First off I wanna say that I usually have good service here and the food is really good, but yesterday I had a terrible experience with the staff and won't be returning to this location again. Yesterday I went a few minutes before noon, waiting in line to order, and the girl rang in my order twice and voided one of the orders. I asked if it would be the normal 10-15 minute wait and she said yes. I waited for 35 minutes before finally going back to the cashier to get an ETA on my lunch to go. She went into the back and then came back and asked me what I ordered. I told her, and she left again and came back with another staff. The 2nd person asked me again, found my order in the system and they discovered that the cashier who rang my order in, said DO NOT MAKE on the 2nd order cuz she rang the first order in wrong, so the kitchen staff just didn't make my food at all. I was so annoyed, I told them if it's not even been started that I want my money back and I'd go somewhere else. It took an extra few minutes just to refund me. The girl who messed up my order said sorry but i didn't take it as sincere, or that she cared. They let me leave with my refund, but didn't offer to make my food quick or anything (most places will do this to make up for the poor experience). I went somewhere else to get lunch. I wasted 3/4 of my lunch break standing around at Remedy, and they did NOTHING above and beyond giving me a refund. They've lost me as a regular customer. Can I also just mention that I saw one of the male front of line staff picking his nose/wiping his forehead as he was making peoples drinks. It was so busy in the cafe, and he didn't appear to care people could see him doing this, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. read more

Friendly, community vibe but without a doubt one of the most expensive and god-awful cups of tea I have ever encountered. I don't recall the exact price for a tea bag but I'm fairly certain it would come close to gold or platinum in terms of price/weight and when I dared to remark to the server that it seemed expensive I was told 'that's how much it costs in London', I'm assuming because I have an English accent despite having lived here for fifteen years. Even if the friendly Australian serving me was right, Edmonton is not London and in London they do at least tend to brew tea in pretty hot water as opposed to the tepid crap I was given. I hear tea is considerably cheaper in New Delhi, which is equally irrelevant. Anyway... The coffee was almost as poor, but also exceptionally expensive. Save your money and make time for the walk to District Coffee, which serves nectar by comparison. read more

Stopped into Remedy Cafe for a little afternoon pick me up. The chai is excellent - freshly made and spicy. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide assortment of vegan and gluten free baking too. Tried the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookie (very tasty) and look forward to going back for the Oat Fudge squares, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip granola bars or the Cranberry Date Squares - it all looked amazing! read more

One of our all time favorite restaurants! We always have the palak paneer wraps. Over the last decade the recipe and size has unfortunately gone downhill... However!!! Seems they've increased prices and took the opportunity to up their game. Our wraps tonight were soft and delicious on the inside, and it seems they've upgraded the wrap from the old pita to a whole wheat dosa of sorts. Crispy and light. At $9.50, still good value. As it was a date night, we splurged on drinks and appies too. 4 samosas and 2 large chai for $13. Samosas, good as always. Night time drinks called for low caffeine Kashmiri chai. Delicious as always, sprinkled with rose petals and pistachios. The worst thing about this place is the bathroom. It's got long time plumbing issues and smells bad. There's no updates in there to go with the completely modern and beautiful cafe area. We had our 2 yr old with us, and there were no change facilities or other surfaces to put her own to dress. The floor is gross, the sink didn't drain properly. At least the toilets had been cleaned. read more

I had no idea how fantastic the food is here. I stopped in here a few times for a relaxing coffee but hadn't tried their food until recently. I've have the Chana Masala both as a wrap and a dish with rice. My boyfriend had the Vegan Butter Chicken with naan. I have no idea what was in it instead of chicken but both dishes were fantastic! The sauces were so good and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The portions here are huge and it takes everything in me to use self control and not finish the entire dish until it's licked clean. Also to note, the serving dishes are gorgeous! read more

I'm a regular visitor at this location of remedy. I think it's a great place with really good value. The wraps are tasty and huge, I'm always overfull when I eat here. Hmm..I'm torn. However, I feel that I've visited enough times to finally justify writing a review. Let me first say that it is not fast food (that is, food that is delivered fast). The informaility can be a little deceving, so make sure you set aside a good chunk of time to wait for your food (say, 15-20 minutes). The first couple of times I went to Remedy were a complete disaster. The first time I chalked it up to a lack of staff, while the second time was just bad luck (everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, from a till being broken, to losing my order, to finding a foregin body in my food). Because of their great staff, I decided I would give it a few months before I visited them again, hoping they would get over the new restaurant jitters. My most recent experiences have been excellent, though. The food is decent and tasty, but not what you would traditionally call "Indidan food," so don't expect that (or you will be disappointed). Their chai is the BEST I've had, and worth a visit in itself. 5 stars for the Chai and great staff, 2 stars for the food = 3 stars. read more

I've been to a few different Remedy Cafe locations and they are all pretty much the same. The location on Jasper is a nice place to meet up with friends and grab tea or coffee, but at times the place can be busy and hard to get a table. I generally go to Remedy to grab a wrap to go. I think I keep on getting wraps because they remind me Indian burritos. They definitely put a twist to their food. I don't particularly think their Butter Chicken Wrap taste like butter chicken at all, but I do enjoy their Palak Paneer Wraps and their Palak Chicken Wraps. I'm not sure if their paneer is homemade. Go easy on the sweet sauce they give you with the wraps. It is so sweet that you can get instant diabetes (just kidding!). In all seriousness, don't use the sauce if you are diabetic. read more
