This is the perfect place for picking up Indian food. The portions are very generous and all the dishes I have tried are flavourful and freshly made. I walked into the restaurant to get a plate for takeout. The service was quick and friendly! I ordered a Tiffin 2 with mango paneer, Unni's South Indian chicken and coconut rice. All were delicious! I dropped my daughter off at preschool and wanted some Indian food. Decided to stop by and so happy I did. As soon as we walked in we were greeted very warmly. The man at the front really made a great impression. He talked to us about the menu and was very friendly. He even explained some of the menu items and gave recommendations on what pairs well with the food. The food was so delicious. There were many options. I recommend the mango paneer and butter chicken. The garlic naan bread is very soft and flavourful. If I could give 10 stars I would. I will definitely be back, one of my new go-to spots! read more

I couldn't say enough good things about this Tiffin location. Prices are reasonable and the portions are HUGE. I normally order a Tiffin 2 and can easily eat it for dinner and lunch the next day. The selection of food items is impressive and everything I've tried have all been amazing. The staff are attentive and friendly.. they recognize me when I come in now. I once ordered something that they were running low on and they made more and even allowed me to try it prior to serving it to me to ensure the flavour was spot on. I have never stayed at the restaurant to eat but it is always clean and has plenty of seating for groups of all sizes. I will continue to come back regularly to this location. Situated on ellerslie road, Tiffin offers a wide variety of Indian cuisine. I went there first time when i was looking for a Chicken Biriyani near to my place. Talking about their ambience, they have done it very nicely. Order: We ordered Veg Samosas on our first visit for take out and i really liked the taste and filling of them. They are bit on a higher side of price. I ordered Chicken Biriyani with Raita for take away on my second visit. Honestly, they didn't do good enough job in their food preparation and taste. Biriyani was missing its authentic flavour and it was quite oily and greasy, which it is not supposed to be. During our third visit for take out, we ordered Veg Hakka Noodles where there were no veggies but only noodles in it. Except first, both of my experiences were not so good. So i might not think of going there again to disappoint myself and waste my money. read more

Over the past 1.5 years between lockdown and having a new baby, we've ordered from Tiffin more times than I can count. We finally got a chance to go into the Ellerslie location to have dinner and were not disappointed. The curries are served hot and super fresh with what seems like more vegetarian options than not. Some standouts are the dal makhani, palak paneer and the onion naan (although if butter isn't your thing, maybe skip it). We have an 18 month old daughter and the eating area was kind of perfect for us. Culturally we eat on the couch with the coffee table and just feed her while she's standing. They have this kind of casual seating along with traditional tables and a patio. We felt right at home at Tiffin! Order delivery but if you want the true experience, go in and eat in the restaurant because it's divine! read more

Decided to try Tiffin today after driving past it multiple times and WOW. The restaurants style and feel was very cool and modern, and it's very open. There's a lot of room for seating with friends. The food is presented really well and the menu is structured very nicely as well, you basically buy a plate and fill it with whatever options you'd like. I had two chicken dishes and one beef from there meat pre-made menu dish and it was really really good. The chicken was definitely better than the beef though. But the real star is the tea, I had the ginger spice chai and it was so good. I'm currently a little sick and it hit my throat in the best way! I'll be back! read more

I love the concept of this Indian restaurant. Its my understanding that 'Tiffin' refers to Tiffin carriers which is a series of compact stainless steel circular food containers that are stacked and held together by an elongated handle contraption used for transport. This way, hot fresh food items such as rice, curries, and rotis are stored in it's separate compartment ensuring a freshly prepared delivery system free of unwanted mixing of items that may tarnish the experience. Therefore, the name alone conjures up thoughts of freshness, delicious, and transportable food without compromise. When I walked in, the open concept design gave it a modern feel where you see the chefs in action. In regards to the menu selection, it was limited to a narrower range than what you expect, but this is a compliment in that they are going against the typical Indian cuisine and are focusing on creative entrees. To illustrate, I tried Palak Paneer Kofta (Spinach and cheese rolled up into little dumplings in a creamy onion curry). I never had anything like this and soaking this goodness with naan bread was heaven!! Other amazing items included the basa fish curry, and a curry infused noodle dish. Overall, the experience was pleasantly surprising where the offerings were atypical of 'the usual' Indian cuisine. Moreover, the experience lived up to its namesake where it did not comprise its deliciousness and freshness despite opting for takeout. read more

TL;DR: not really worth it. I'm Indian - so I know Indian food. I also know about the time and effort that goes into cooking Indian food, and the trials and tribulations of customer service. But - c'mon. I appreciate the concept and I can see it's place in a metropolitan. But Edmonton has a plethora of incredible Indian restaurants, and this just doesn't measure up. It's overpriced. For the price of a buffet, you can get two curries and rice. It's extra for naan, if they remember to give it to you. They didn't for me. They did remember to give fresh naans to the policeman who came in half an hour after me, though. It's bland. It's lowest common denominator Indian food. Anybody who hates spice can definitely choke it down, but it has none of the flare and masala must Indian food does. The rice sits in a heated container and loses the moistness that makes basmati so great. They charge for any upgrade. Look - it's $4 for some rice pudding. You can make it yourself for less or enjoy it at a buffet after a more fulfilling meal. It's inconveniently located. But they do deliver, the concept is fun, and the portions are decent: so 2 stars. read more

This is a review for the downtown location, which is basically like a souped-up Remedy. Such a sleek and chic place ruined by buffet-quality Indian food :( I have been here three times now and the quality has been the same each time. You will find nothing healthy here. Sadly, even the chai lattes are pumped full of sugary syrup rather than being the real deal chai. I wish they put a healthy sandwich / salad shop in this location, way more suiting to the downtown crowd! read more

My family and I have been going to Tiffin since they opened! The food is amazing and there is so much variety that I have yet to try everything on the menu. The decor is minimalist with beautiful art on the walls. Overall the atmosphere is very calm and laid back, like a coffee shop. The owners and staff have been extremely kind to us since day one. They always greet us as soon as we walk in and take the time to chat. It has gotten to the point were I have them order for me because everything is so tasty. The concept is great. The chai tea selection, fresh naan, and veggie dishes were good. The beef, lamb and goat curry all look and taste the same. The place is clean (used eco friendly products) , and the staff takes time to explain and sample the dishes. If strategically located, i would come back. read more

I'm Indian, so I know good Indian food. I was very hungry when I came in here, but disappointed in the food. The coconut rice was way too sweet and did not pair well with anything on my plate. I would at least get the plain rice. The butter chicken did not taste like butter chicken, and I was not a fan of the lentil Dahl. My mango lassi was not cold. However, Naan and service were good, place was cute. I'm not from Edmonton, but I'd imagine there are better Indian restaurants. read more

Poor Customer Service I went twice to the Jasper Ave and twice this manager was rude and looked like he wanted a fight. I left as I didn't want to stoop low. I wrote to the owners and the first time they told me its my choice if I wanted to come back and next time they didn't respond. This is my go-to for delicious, inexpensive Indian. The naan is always fresh and the curries are so creamy! Everything I have had off of the menu is super tasty! From the chicken fenugreek to the paneer pepper masala. Although I have only ever eaten tiffin via SkipTheDishes, I trust that the dine in experience is just as good, if not better. The fact that they are one of the only places whose food is still hot when it arrives at your front door, is reason enough to try it. read more

This place is beautiful, full of light and has a gorgeous mural. I had a meeting here and the owners are amazing people. They explained what the name of the restaurant what it means and what all the dishes are. The food was really good all of it was hot and fresh. The amount of food I got was more than I could eat for 2 meals I got a pop, coconut rice , 2 different curries and naan bread for $23 with a 20% tip. I will be back for sure!!! I've heard of this place and agree with other reviewers that the concept is great and the decor is nicely done. I order 2 tiffin 2 - it's was mostly sauce and hardly any meat. We also ordered gulab jamun to-go - which they brought out in a water cup and did not put a bag. When I went to pick up the rest of the food and opened my bag to put the gulab jamun in there - the lady recommended that I not put it in the same bag so it won't spill on the other food. I chuckle and said but you didn't give a separate bag so it'll spill in my car?! Where's the logic? She reluctantly went to get me a second bag. Oh and it was burnt! The rest food was pretty good - if you're looking for that quick ready to eat food - that's why I'm giving it 2 stars. You're better off going to a restaurant - there are so many good Indian restaurants in Edmonton! We were never greeted or thanked for our business. Will not be returning. read more

I love the fish choices but my go to is butter chicken. Four choices of the base, rice, curry, oh boy so many good choices. There are a lot of great Indian restaurants in the south so I won't say this is one of the best Indian food you will have. BUT they do have nice contemporary seating and patio so you can have a casual dinner or lunch with friends and family. They have a hip and cool vibe which is harder to find in most Indian restaurants so they definitely win in this category. Food - the food is priced reasonably and there are many choices. I also think the food is good not the best but it's good. I would say the closest comparison to this place would be remedy but I personally like the food and vibe here more. read more

Update: Went to use gift card and was turned away from dining in because they had shut the restaurant down for a party. This was pretty frustrating. It was so loud in there that we struggled to even place an order... could not hear or understand the people behind the counter. Not a pleasant experience. You are a casual sit down restaurant with walk up orders.... not a banquet hall. I will say that the portions are excessively generous, that much is true... but I stand by my previous comment that the food is not very flavourful. The only thing that had a lot of flavour was the South Indian chicken. The rest of the dishes tasted the same, and were obviously an entry level of spice Indian food. My partner of Indian descent agreed, that this was "Indian food for white people". I do appreciate Joti's attempt to make this right, and I'm sure it was bad luck we came at a horrible time... While I can't speak to the customer service in-restaurant (because I couldn't hear them), Joti was very kind in wanting to make sure we got a second try at Tiffin. A must try! Such a neat experience with original new aged concepts and delicious food! We've Been there twice now. Once we ate as take out. Second time we stayed and ate there in the loungers with another couple. Such a relaxed wonderful evening. Great service, reasonable price and best thing is you don't have to wait to get your food! I really enjoy the fact that there's excellent dishes that I've not ever found at other Indian restaurants. My favorites are the fish dishes. The wife's favs are the chicken. Will probably be the new couples night out venue... you can spend as much or as little time there as you want or need since you aren't waiting on chefs and normal restaurant hustle n bustle etc. I really recommend this new experience to everyone! read more

Incredible !! As soon as we walked into the building , we were greeted and welcomed by the manager . A huge variety of delicious dishes along with the variety of chai teas was outstanding . I ordered the 1 tiffin , butter chicken with a garlic naan and was blown away by the flavour . The building is beautiful and modern , had no problem getting a seat .
