Of all of the locations of Remedy I have spent time in (and that would be all of them), I think I like the layout and feel of this one the best. It is clean, bright, and the smell of curry does not permeate. The washrooms are accessible from within the main area (as opposed to having to walk down a long hall or leaving the cafe entirely), and are very modern. You don't need a code for the free wifi, and the food and drink selection is the same great one you will find at all locations. I had an iced chai, and it was refreshing and fabulous. The location itself is also excellent - we need more hip, fun places that are not either right downtown or on Whyte Avenue, but still central. read more

Less busy than the 109 location, Remedy Cafe is a nice sit down for afternoon and late night snacking. Prices were the same as other locations, and tables are comfortably close. I like the ambiance of this cafe, whereas the other ones are a bit too large to be cozy. Great location, friendly staff as always and their mudfight cake is rich with chocolate and not too sweet. So rich, I couldn't finish it with 3/4s left to go. If somethings not on the menu, you can always ask like getting just 'steamed milk' to go along with my mudfight cake. I've been pretty excited about Remedy coming to 124 Street, and now it's here! I'm breaking into my 10th celebratory dance right now! This location has already become my favourite location of all. As soon as I walked in, I was totally thrilled about the warm atmosphere. The other Remedy locations all have their own charm, but 124st is particularly appealing. Think big, colourful glass pendant lights--so pretty! Think hardwood floors. Think wood tabletops. Think multiple shelves of teaaaaaa! Think crazy glass towers slowly dripping coffee! This is totally a place I can park myself at for hours and just chill. This won't be hard at all with their yummy selection of Indian food and bad-for-me desserts. The 124 Street location is hands down my favourite location of Remedy Café. This location has a lot of seating, is bright and cheerful inside, and has the same great drinks and food that you're used to with this Edmonton brand. Anything you could possibly want to drink, they have it. I still love the coconut fogs for a tropical blast of warm comfort. If I liked coffee, I would definitely try the pour over just to experience it. They also have lots of water options, including bottled carbonated, so I always seem to grab a bottle to go along with my fog. They have a ton of food options but I always stick to butter chicken with naan as it is fantastic. If you're feeling sweet, they have a huge display case that is full of decadent options including a large selection of vegan and gluten free options. Everything is well labeled and you're sure to find something that appeals to your mood and sweet tooth! Overall, I find this café to be a great place to relax by yourself or to meet a friend to chat. It's not too loud, it's bright, centrally located, there's lots of street parking available, you have a lot of food and drink options and the staff are super friendly as well! read more

I like all the remedy cafes in town, not just because they bring Pakistani food to hipsters but also because they shameless overcharge for a meal that would cost 30% less on the south side. This remedy is like the others, it's in a central neighbourhood, all the staff on the front are super white, like so white no one other than white people could pull off their look. The kitchen staff are super brown, and the customers are everyone you want to be friends with. The food is like it is elsewhere and the drinks are standard downtown prices. read more

Had the pina colada cheesecake which was light and quite delicious. The piece was a bit on the smallish size for the price, although my gut is thankful for the non-monstrous serving. The chocolate milkshake also hit the spot for my hubby and we were making plans to come back to try out the interesting food menu on a later date. My only gripe is that this location doesn't have quite the ambience that I recall from my visits to 109th Street. This particular site is very bright and well-lit and clean which are all good things in my book; however it's almost sterile? Might be that the daytime vibe is different but in the evening, the stark lighting was a bit jarring. Perhaps the lack of any background music to set the tone also threw me off a bit. I always find it unnerving to be in such quiet restaurants because I feel like I'm listening in on people's private conversations and vice versa. In any event, we still enjoyed our drinks and snacks at this new addition to our neighbourhood and we wish them luck. We welcome any food and beverage establishment that stays open late and we look forward to going back for the hot beverages and food menu! read more

I think this is probably the largest out of the chain of cafes. I'm not going to lie, it's rather difficult to find parking in this area. This location is more open and spacious. The chai and lattes here are just as good as the other locations. I like that the owner chooses all of the spices that go into the Chai himself and then has them imported. Remedy is my favourite Chai in the city! I appreciate that they have several different types of "milk" to choose from. My only disappointment is that they don't keep lactaid in stock. Almond it is then! You also have an extensive choice of the type of sweetener to use in your beverage. Cane sugar, coconut sugar, etc. Sweet! The baked goods are really great and a lot of them are vegan. If you aren't into Chai or coffee, they have a selection of cold beverages, a number of them are organic and tasty. One of the only places where I have seen my favourite hibiscus drinks. I haven't had a chance to have the food at this particular location, but if it is anything like the one downtown, it is pretty amazing! read more

This is my favourite Remedy location. It's warm and welcoming. They are usually very busy and it's not always easy to get a spot to sit. During the summer they have tables outside as well. I usually order a classic Chi tea and have tried many of the variations. They have many types of milk or milk alternatives to choose from. So if you have allergies or certain preferences I am sure that they are able to accommodate you. The butter chicken and the vegan butter chicken are wonderful. They have lots of flavour but are not too spicy. Also don't forget to try the samosas. read more

I am such a bad Edmontonian... I've never been to Remedy before! It's been over a year now since the lovely Tineke D told me that Remedy has a Coconut Fog that I really need to try.. I'm not sure why I waited so long. On my first visit, I started with the Coconut Fog (finally). What a dream! Delicious and full of coconut - including coconut shavings on top that made my day :) Once that was done, I ordered some food. I really wanted to try the Samosa, but I went with the Butter Chicken dish for my first visit (I'll be back for the samosa... don't you worry). The Butter Chicken was really great, although there really wasn't much spice. It was smooth and buttery with nice chunks of chicken. I would be absolutely over the moon if they offered a smaller size in addition to the full size, as it was really a bit much, but I was happy with it. I found it strange that they also offer a butter chicken wrap which is absolutely nothing like the butter chicken dish. I would have assumed that they would be essentially the same (at least the same flavours!).... but that is definitely not the case. And since the menu offers no description, there's really no way to know that ahead of time. Since I had a meeting after this visit, I decided to take another beverage with me on the road. If you haven't guessed by now, I love coconut and was intrigued by the Coconut Matcha Latte. I was a little nervous about the combination, but it works really well! It was perfect for the rainy afternoon. This location is wonderful. Very bright and open... lots of windows. I had no trouble finding parking, but I can imagine it gets tricky. Oh... and major bonus points for free wifi!! Now.. if only they would open a location in St. Albert! A girl can dream... read more

Came on a Sunday, so parking wasn't an issue - rockstar parking for the win! I had a chai tea latte with almond milk. The chai spices were delicious, and the overall flavour was memorable. For SURE the best Remedy in town Such a great selection of all natural, vegan, gluten free, nut free, you-name-it-free food options! Their Chai latte is to DIE for and the staff is always willing to engage in jokes with the customers. There is a small patio outside and quite a bit of bike parking. The bathrooms are always clean, and chalk-graffiti'ed by patrons (usually encouraging gender equality, self-love, good hygiene practices, etc...) After the last time we were here, the manager reached out and apologised for the experience my friend had with the service. He let us know it isn't a regular thing that happens and I am inclined to believe him. It seems like the manager really cares about the establishment and they are serious about wanting to offer great customer service along with their absolutely wonderful food!! Overall it is a great atmosphere to come hang out at, have a couple of drinks or grab a bite to eat and just socialise. Or if you have work to do this is a great place to set up your laptop and get some papers written or studying done for all the students out there. Mmm... Remedy chai... Perfect to sip hot on a chilly winter day, or cold on a blazing summer day. Actually, just perfect in general! This location had tons of seating, as well as big windows so everything is nice and bright. It does get fairly full during peak times though, so there might be a bit of a wait for a seat. Food-wise, you have to try the butter chicken. It's creamy and so so so good. The chicken chunks are big and juicy. The side order of naan is also the perfect tool to sop up all the saucy goodness. Their wraps are also HUGE for the price! Half a wrap is more than enough for one meal and you can save the other half for a later snack or the next day's lunch. One of the only humble workers just left this place and I can't tell you how many times they had me waiting for 20 minutes for something you pull out of the cooler. I'm a big fan of all the Remedy locations. I've only ever had the Chai, but I know that is one of their specialties, and it is excellent. I'm sure the coffee is good too, but i always judge a coffee shop more on the overall vibe than the drink. I mean, let's be honest, you go to places like this to meet friends and have conversations, first and foremost. Remedy has a relaxed, cool, accepting feel to it. You'd feel comfortable wearing business casual, or hippie clothes, or workout gear, or just about anything else. I took off a star only by comparison to the 109th location, which I think is better overall, but this is still a great place. I've also had some of the food, and it's great too. I get the butter chicken wrap almost every time. I can't help myself, I just love it. Their food is always quite delicious, no matter which dish you are ordering. I am always impressed with the assortments of baked goods and optional gluten free baking- I take my gluten free with a grain of salt, meaning if it's made with for eg. Tapioca starch as the first and main ingredient, don't bother, you're giving yourself a massive insulin spike. They make a lot of their baked goods with a mixture of rice flour and cassava-thank you. Their chai is the bomb, it always makes me feel so good. Around noon and later in the vending it can get quite busy and fill up. I am a huge Remedy Cafe fan, so this 124 Street location is perfect for work or friend meet ups. Also, it never seems to be packed, as I can always find a seat compared to the 109 St location. There menu is similar to their original 109 St location. I usually order a regular chai with almond milk and the vegan chicken chana wrap. They definitely have quite a few options for different dietary restrictions including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. There is also a large amount of treats at the counter and cakes on display. My most recent treat were matcha chocolate almonds! Also, don't forget that they also sell draft beer and kombucha! I always love me some kombucha. :) Seating wise, there are tables and some comfy chairs. I like the layout as you can always sit by the window if you are desperate for a seat. The service is quite lovely as they provide table numbers and serve your food to the table, rather than having to wait. read more

While I don't typically order food here, I absolutely love the various coffee drinks here. My go-to would typically be the white mocha but I haven't had a drink that I have disliked yet. Service at this location is fantastic. The staff are friendly, keep things moving at a quick pace and generally seem to recognize their regulars. Additional bonus to this location for their hours. Sometimes you just want a coffee later in the evening when other places have closed. They are open until midnight every night (although if you're looking for food I believe their kitchen closes at 11). Parking in the area can be tough to find but that's not unexpected for 124 St. You might have to walk and extra minute or two but it is well worth it! read more

This Remedy location always seems to be busy when I go past. I know the deliciously spicy chai from Remedy is pretty much iconic, but I was in the mood for an Americano- which Remedy calls a Canadiano. The cup I got was pretty good, but the real interesting part is that Remedy has by my count 8 different types and flavours of sugar, plus a couple other sweetners (honey, agave). If you can't find something to sweeten your drink here, you've got serious issues. Gotta love a place that gives you lots of options. The scones are pretty decent, and the butter chicken is worth a try too if you're in the mood for spicy. read more

Another great experience at another great Remedy Cafe. What's the best thing to mention about the Remedy Cafe's? The ambiance? It's great. If I needed a place to study, write, hang solo I'd be heading here! The music is great, there's a lot of tables and outdoor seating! I had the vegan butter chicken AGAIN cuz it's delicious! It's a tomato based butter chicken and again it is delicious! I also had the classic chai with almond milk cuz it's a sweet, sweet treat! They served it pippin' hot which is great cuz sometimes ya get a lukewarm chai and it's just not as awesome. The staff was great. Effective and personable, all you want out of a cafe server! First things first, i have only ever experienced the absolute kindest folks working here. I often see plenty of smiles. I enjoy their quality food and I can't help but feel guilt-free for consuming it. Whether that's based in reality or not, I can't say... All I know is that they've made a name for themselves because of their gluten-free baking, various sugar alternatives and authentic Indian dishes. Remedy fits in on 124 street effortlessly and I am so pleased to drink back their iced chai and munch on a butter chicken wrap. It's become a dish I genuinely crave sometimes. I just tried Remedy's food for the first time and I am incredibly impressed. Had their butter chicken with rice & naan as well as samosas. The sauce they provided for the samosas was to die for, no idea what it is but it is delicious. The butter chicken was a pretty big helping for only $13.20 and was super tasty as well. They have added outlets by the window-seats which is great for anyone who needs to bring a laptop or device.The vegan selection is great and they even carry vegan cupcakes by Blue Rose Baking which are to die for! I've been to the 124 Street Remedy Cafe a few times and have always been pleased with the food & pleasant service. It's a great place for a late night coffee & dessert (most places are closed later in the evening). My experience last night changed my whole opinion of the place. While the food & drink remained good, the service was appalling. In previous visits, it was a primarily female staff who were very pleasant and accommodating.. Last night the boys were in charge. They cashed out the till at 11:30pm and told everyone who came in that they couldn't buy anything. At about 11:40, one of the servers shuffled over to our table and tried to take my friend's latte mug. He wasn't finished and had to intervene. It was awkward. The server replied with "Oh ... well I'll need that mug in about 5 minutes" and shuffled away. When he came back 5 minutes later, I asked him, "What time do you close?" He replied, "We're open until midnight but the till closes at 11:30 so you can't really buy anything after that." I said "Then you're really only open until 11:30." He said "Yeah ... but the lights stay on and you can use the bathrooms." C'mon! If you're going to advertise that you're open until midnight - frickin' stay OPEN until midnight! read more
