Been by this place a number of times, and two weeks ago was my first time coming in. Their atmosphere is super chill, and I love the giant aquarium. My friends and I came here on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. We had no problem finding a table to sit at which was nice. They have half off of everything during happy hour which is great! I ordered two drinks--the "Asshatten" and the Rhubarbarella (see menu picture). The Asshatten was delicious! The rhurbarbarella is a gin based drink and was nice and refreshing during the summer. I live right near this place and it is the perfect hang-out spot! I absolutely love the interior, cozy with dim lighting yet ample bar seats. There's also a fish tank behind the bar which is super cool. Remedy also has the best deals! Every day (even Friday) they have happy hour 4-7 where all cocktails are half-priced! The matcha box 20 is an amazing cocktail -very refreshing with a light matcha tea and lemon taste. Also, every Tuesday they have $2 and $3 beers! Where else can you find such a deal! They offer a ton of different beers, including a gluten free beer called Two Brothers. Definitely an awesome neighborhood bar that's perfect for both happy hour and late nights. read more

This review is solely based on their drinks and happy hour specials!!! The drinks here never disappoint and there is always a spot in the bar to get your drink! If you are lucky to get a table you still have to go to the bar during the week to grab your drinks (not sure how it works on the weekends). I don't know how I haven't written a review for Remedy seeing that I come here at least once every two weeks or so. This place has an extensive beer and cocktail menu, so it's sure to please everybody. I live right around the corner from it, but I would frequent Remedy just as much if I didn't live in Bucktown. If you're a rye drinker, The Asshattan is the drink for you. Every time I order a drink here, I try to broaden my horizons, but I almost have to order The Asshattan. The Cellar Door is also one of my favorites here, mostly because I'm a fan of Bulleit bourbon. Even though The Remedy cocktail is a year-round drink, I'd recommend it for the summer time, because gin always tastes better in the summer. For the winter, I'd suggest getting The White Walker. It's difficult to make a drink with Fernet that doesn't completely slap you in the face, but some how Remedy nails it with The White Walker. Here's an added bonus to the bar, too. Even though the bartenders are completely knowledgeable about their craft, they're not super pretentious about it (you laugh, but you know that's rare). Special shout out to the bartender that served me a Miller High Life in a fancy glass, because after all, it is the "champagne of beers." Remedy has an extremely reasonably-priced happy hour, so I would recommend checking that out. Heads up, it does get pretty crowded during the happy hour times, though. It's definitely one of those happy hours you should take advantage of if your 9-5 job gets out a bit early on a Friday. read more

Came here for their happy hour which is 5-7 M-F and includes half off drinks including cocktails. It was really packed on a Friday evening during HH. I kind of felt bad for the bartenders because there were only two of them serving sooo many people. I like sweeter cocktails so I tried the owlington which was delicious with hints of pineapple and coconut flavors. After reading all the great reviews my bf got the asshattan which was ok in my opinion, tasted like cough syrup to be honest. My friend and I had a good time here after eating nearby. It was mid-week so it wasn't very busy. Our bartender was very nice and more than happy to sell me half pints of beer since I couldn't drink that much and wanted to try the different beers they offered. In my older years, the cocktail bar theme is now a blur to me in the sense that they all seem to be of similar concepts. Each offering about 8 to 10 signature drinks, a decent beer and wine list and some artisan snacks to munch on. Atmosphere and music tend to be similar so there isn't much differentiation. I was a photo of Remedy when it is lit up and it looks fun and vibrant. My suggestion is to keep the lights brighter. In any case, I'll be back to be mesmerized by the large fish tank. Look out for the black fishy that is super-hyper, curious, and breathing on the glass. read more

A few friends I just happened to stumble across this place as we were wondering around Bucktown. Remedy does an excellent job of skirting the fine line between being upscale and pretentious...not always as easy as it sounds. We weren't even aware it was happy hour, so I did a double take when I realized our three drinks (which included a cocktail), were around $15. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. Thier drink menu offered a nice variety for both beer and cocktail lovers. Lastly, I'm always a sucker for a good fish tank, like the big one behind the bar. The remedy is a nice spot to peak into if you're interested in grabbing a drink and catching up with a friend, without the usual crowd and noise. Even on prime evening times, doesn't get crowded, and bartenders are super nice. We were hoping to sit by one of the giant wall windows but they close them in the evening so as not to disturb the neighborhood, so come early on a nice day! Big fan so far! We live just across the street and are happy to see a new business open up in one of the vacant buildings. The space is is laid out very well and aesthetically pleasing (love the light fixtures!). The atmosphere is intimate, but casual. Staff very friendly and attentive. Drinks good and at a fair price (the Bronson was a personal fave). I saw that they have 1/2 off happy hour M-F from 4-7 pm. Not sure if this is a permanent thing or just while they are still new, but definitely something to take advantage of! I was initially nervous about a 5am bar and the type of crowd that might attract, but having visited and seen the vibe they are going for, I'm not as worried. This place is an absolute gem!! I have lived in this neighborhood for about 6 months and just found it. So many regrets to not coming sooner. Happy hour is amazing and the bartenders are so so nice. My friend and I walked in on a Friday at about 5 and the place was packed. Found one seat at the end of the bar and the bartender hurried to go find another stool without us even asking! Then poured us a shot just cause we were new to the area. The clientele also have great vibes, not pretentious, middle aged group. I had the pleasure of visiting Remedy for the first time last week when my friend held his yearly birthday celebration there. It was a Tuesday night so the bar wasn't very crowded. We had nearly half the bar to ourselves which was nice. My first impression of Remedy was a good one. The bar is modern, semi upscale and sophisticated yet it felt warm and homey too. There's a jukebox in the bar that plays rock music but the music isn't played at an obnoxious level. The bar tenders were all pleasant and attentive. I ordered a margarita on the rock which was decent. It was a tad bitter but I still enjoyed it. The bathroom was really clean too which is always a huge plus. It's obvious that owners/employees run the bar with care and it reflects positively in the overall presentation. I look forward to visiting Remedy again in the future. read more
