Well there is $440 and 6 hours we won't get back. The actual session felt like it was always almost going somewhere but never really got anywhere. We needed to write this really extensive essay based on all these questions ahead of time and we both gave it a bunch of thought to find Rich hadn't even read mine before the appointment. This meant much of the time was spent just filling him in on things he could've gotten by actually reading the assignments he set us. It felt like he did a lot of talking and very little listening and we left feeling disheartened and frustrated. On top of that, he promised to send us a deep analysis and exercises we could do once he came back from vacation. He was back 5 weeks ago and still no report!! At best this is an alpha male who will interrupt you a bunch and at the worst it's a total scam. Please be warned! He told us we could have a refund if we weren't happy so I'm guessing that's why you don't see more negative reviews on here. Run awaaaaay! read more

Went for quitting smoking. I quit some years ago for 5 years via hypnotherapy at another place and then restarted. Tried it again a few years ago and did not go into a "trance" so did not work at all. This time I went into a "trance" for a short while and have not smoked for 6 days now (have not missed a day of smoking pretty much for 5 years before this). I already consider this a success here because for me it's the first few days that I need to get over physically/psychologically and the rest is kind of up to me to keep it up. Key highlights: - good pre session interview that asked meaningful questions and got my mind in the right frame of mind. insights from interview used for suggestions during session. - very comfortable bed/blanket/pillow for session which is critical for me I think - any discomfort reduces chance of going into a "trance". - was able to go into a dreamlike trance state where the mind wanders and loses track of the suggestions which I think for me is a really good state to be in (only subconscious is listening to the suggestions). My feeling is if you can't get into this dreamlike state you are probably not going to benefit. Also, if the suggestions are not carefully formulated, you are probably not going to benefit. Remedy gave me both so I am very satisfied! read more

From a sleep study report I received a diagnosis of Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome. My minimum oxygen saturation was 92%. Normal is 90% to 100%, so I don't have a severe case. The main problem is that I don't sleep on a deep level, and I keep waking up. It is similar to apnea but it is not sleep apnea, because I don't stop breathing. My doctor, Dr. Thomas Dailey, recommended a CPAP machine. It is bummer after sleeping seven hours to wake up and feel tired, but I didn't want to use a CPAP machine, so I decided to see Rich Rios who owns and operates Remedy Hypnotherapy. I went to him one time. It seemed at first that it really helped, but after a while it was not as helpful as I had hoped. I sometimes use his download of his voice encouraging a deep sleep. It helps but is not 100% effective. I intend to see him to reinforce a deeper sleep and to help me from waking up in the middle of the night. Rich told me that one session might not be enough. He really wants to help and he really took his time understanding me. I enjoyed talking with him and plan to go back to him for my sleep problems and for other problems as well. I LOVE THIS GUY. Rich is a super nice guy and a great therapist. He truly cares for your need & well being. I came to the session did not know what to expect. But I was going through some difficult time in my life and felt really suffered. Gave him a call and had long talk with him. Then I schedule an appointment based on my initial warm introduction he gave. The session is very personal & emotional. Rich listened carefully & patiently to every word that I said. I felt really understood by him. He also take notes and gave out advices helping me to have a better understanding of my problems, where it is coming from, where it is headed and how he can help me to be my better self. Rich helped me to untie the knots of my problems one by one, showing me a different approach to to face and deal with them. He was extremely easy to talk with. At the end of the session, he gave me a 45mins hypnosis session based on everything I told him and my concerns. His voice was smoothing and warm. The session was peaceful and afterward I felt too relaxed. Since I am easy to fall as sleep so Rich took extra time to slit my session into half and send me. Now my homework is to listen to the session everyday for 40 days. He also gives me little exercises to practice at home so that I can handle my emotion better. He also told me to call him every time I feel stressed out so he can talk with me and calm me down. And he did. I am totally amazed with Rich. He is definitely the best therapist ever (my gf visited many therapist and all of them was uncaring, only after your money). Look no further. I just finished my second session with Rich Rios. He is an excellent listener and totally present, which helps him frame sessions that are greatly beneficial for me. He is very professional and also kind, comfortable to be around and generous in sharing his own story and difficult issues he has overcome. I had been struggling to do some things that I really wanted to do for a while and kept joking with my friends that I should go to a hypnotherapist. Then a couple of days later I saw a deal for it on Living Social. Leading up to and even walking into my first session with Rich, I kept thinking to myself, "I must be desperate to pay this quack. He isn't going to be able to do anything." But his soothing voice soon quieted the thoughts in my head. When the therapy began I still felt hesitant, however now I wanted to work with him. I am not sure if my wanting to work with him made a difference or not. During the session I felt extremely relaxed. (In fact more relaxed than when I try to listen to the audio recording at home.) After I felt like I could take on the world my confidence and sense of optimism was so high. I have tired going to traditional therapy and felt like I was wasting my time. When I first saw the review rating, it seemed just too perfect, 55 reviews and ALL 5 star. So not true !!! I still decided to contacted him for a quick chat, just to see. Its been few months now and here I am writing a review about him. After 18 years of maital abuse and cheating by the partner, I was desperate and lost. I've used Rich a couple of times. He's been pretty effective for me. He also took the notes from our conversation and put together a reinforcement CD that I listen to in the car. It gives me a nice boost and reminds me of my goals and what I need to do to achieve them. Also, Rich has a masters in hypnotherapy which is above and beyond. Went to session for first time with Richard and I went in with attitude of, I hope I can believe enough in this that it works. Richard really made me feel comfortable and positive of my future outcome. He had no time restraints and was willing to do what ever it takes to get through to me. Rick is an awesome, extremely talented, intuitive and very perceptive hypnotherapist. I approached him to help me overcome phobia with academics that I developed during my university days. I was amazed at the way he looked at my fear/phobia involving me in the process at the same time and probed into the phobia from many different angles. I went into hypnotherapy with mixed feelings about 2 weeks ago. I was unsure if it would be worth my money. Especially because hypnotherapy wasn't covered by my insurance, the price seemed steep. I had been suffering from severe anxiety, insomnia, night terrors and depression for about 2-3 years at that point. I had tried about everything that you can imagine. The biggest issue was that it was effecting my work/academic life. But on top of that, I was not having fun at all. Functioning in day to day life had become a chore. I was suicidally depressed for at least a year of this period Out of all the hypnotherapists that I called and whose reviews I checked, Rich came off as the least money oriented. There are hypnotherapists who on the phone jumped at the opportunity to sell me "packages" of hypnotherapy for 1000+ dollars. Rich was open to splitting up the cost of the session up and seemed more concerned with solving the actual problem. I came into Rich's office and calmly explained my scenario, as well as what I personally felt was causing these particular symptoms. He was calm and logical as he helped point out my mistakes and issues in my thinking process. He then crafted a hypnosis track for me. I was hypnotized in the room once, and then after he gave me the track, I was told to listen to it everyday for a month. If you are looking for a silver bullet for your problems; look elsewhere. You won't just walk into his office and then walk out cured from your ailments. If you are looking for a valuable tool that when used consistently used will help you significantly improve your mental health over the course of 1-3 weeks, then you are looking at the right yelp page. Its been 17 days and I feel near 100% better. The effects of hypnosis weren't overnight or immediate. But if you take the time to listen to the hypnosis tracks that rich gives you daily, as well as put in the genuine effort to act on them, then I would be surprised if you didn't at least have a noticeable improvement well worth the money. Keep in mind; I have been to at least 15-20 psychotherapy sessions. While the first few sessions of psychotherapy worked wonders, there was a point of diminishing returns, and after the 3rd session I felt there was little to no improvement. first of all I would like to start by saying that I am not a big believer in hypnotherapy, but I decided to give it a try since I already tried EVERYTHING else possible to quit smoking. I have been smoking for 16 years, during which I tried quitting gradually, cold turkey, patches, and other typical ways like replacing smoking with eating carrots....in anycase, none of those methods have worked. I was not able to keep myself from indulging when opportunity presented itself. When I met Rich he was very kind and understanding to my challenges. He took the time to undertstand the root cause to my problem and through a lengthy conversation he was able to get to know me and develop a therapy session customized to my needs and personality. The session iteself was great, and I have been listening to it almost every night before bed time (for 21 days as instructed by Rich). After my first therapy session I went home and thought that it didn't work, as the first thing I did was light up a cigarettere. What I didn't know is that would be my last cigarette. Since that day not only I did not smoke, I did not have the urge to smoke. The real test was during my trip to Las Vegas which took place only 5 days after the first session. The entire trip I was surrounded by smoke and smokers and had zero desire to indulge...YAY!!!! I was very impressed with the results and the support I got from Rich in the entire process. I went to Remedy Hypnotherapy while I was preparing for the California bar exam. I MUST SAY IT WAS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE DONE! I went to Rich one week before the bar exam and had one hypnotherapy session. During the session, Rich spent some time getting to know a little bit about me and quickly picked up on the issues that were holding me back from passing the bar exam. His services should have ended with the hypnotherapy session, but he went the extra mile to make sure I was in a good state of mind before walking into the exam. He called me every day before the exam began and every day after the exam. (The bar exam is a 3 day test). He recommended I listen to the audio recording of the therapy session 3 times a day during the exam period. Once in the morning, second-during the afternoon break, and at night before going to bed. I CANNOT SAY HOW MUCH THIS HELPED ME! Instead of worrying about how I had performed after the completion of each section-I would run to my car and play the hypnotherapy session and re-charge for the next section of the exam. I honestly believe this helped me remain calm, focused, positive- and ultimately allowed me to pass the bar exam. When I got word that I passed the bar exam I informed Rich right away. He was nothing short of being ecstatic for me. It's very rare you come across people that go the extra mile for you and genuinely care about your success. I just saw Rich for hypnotherapy. It wasn't at all what I was expecting. I went to him for help with my pain, and I went reluctantly. I don't think I really believed in hypnosis as a way of taking over my mind. Rich is a really nice guy. He took all the time that was necessary to find out everything about what was going on in my life and in my mind. Then he actually did hypnotize me! I don't think he could have made me cluck like a chicken, but he certainly used all of the information that I had given him about my life and what's going on with me to give positive suggestions in a way that was extremely effective and I believe will continue to be helpful. He sent me home with audio of the hypnosis session so that I can continue to practice as many times as I want at allowing the suggestions to help me. I had a little trouble finding the location because it is in a condo and Rich has a workspace there, but once I was confident that I had the correct address and started my interview and session with Rich, I became very comfortable. He is very professional and, although he's young, he has a lot of life experience and is very insightful. I felt that he really wanted to get to know the most he could about why I was there and what I wanted to accomplish so that he could help me in the most effective way. He had a way of establishing a quick rapport with me and I felt that I could honestly trust him (which, with my levels of anxiety about doing anything new, and meeting anyone new, is unusual for me to feel that way so quickly). When we started our hypnotherapy session, I was very comfortable and relaxed and went "under" pretty quickly. He sends you a copy of your session so that you can listen to it (he recommended twice a day for 21 days for things to really start to turn around for me), but I understand he is not a miracle worker (and that is not what hypnotherapy is about). I know what I need to do and, hopefully with Rich's help, I can begin to be motivated to start the process (I went for weight loss, but there is so much more underlying "stuff", i.e., self esteem, that goes along with it). I'm excited to begin to be able to do the steps that I already know I need to take to lose the weight, but for some reason, have been unable to do (I have been "blocked" from achieving my goals, for whatever reason). I am excited to start this process and I have faith that Rich's techniques and hypnotherapy is a tool that will be very useful to me. I was referred to Rich by a friend who had strongly recommended him because of his positivity. I came to hypnosis with an open mind because I had never tried hypnotherapy before. I was stressed and sad after failing the Bar multiple times. I had started to believe that I just didn't have it in me. I walked in to the session confused and unsure if this will really help me regain my confidence back. But I left with a positive attitude and enjoyed a really great experience. Rich helped me let go of my inner enemy and his positive affirmations helped me regain my confidence again. I was told to listen to the recording twice a day up until the Bar exam. I met Richard during the darkest time of my life. I would say it is AMAZING! The first counseling for me went for almost 4 hours and the conversation just blew me away. I literally felt so much more positive and recharged when the session ended. And now every time if fall into negative thoughts, I would sometimes message Richard, and he would reply quite promptly wherever he is so long as he has time. I often feel he is more like a good and trustworthy friend now than a pure therapist. And I sincerely believe he is doing this not for money but to help more people.
