I thought it was time for an update since my original review back in 2017. I initially found Wylie from pure desperation with extreme tightness and PAIN in my shoulder and neck that plagued me for about 7 months and so glad I did. I was truly miserable. throughout the year, I continued weekly/bi-weekly appts/monthly with Wylie for and I have to say, I never felt better! Eventually, I stopped when my HSA ran out. And of course, that's when the tense, tight muscles came back. My immediate solution was, going back to Wylie. The private acupuncture, cupping and massage therapy is so worth it as 1) totally relaxing and 2) reduces the multiple knots that seem to always form on my shoulders and shoulder blades regardless of how much I try to roll it our with a foam rollers or massage devices. I had been to numerous massage therapy sessions to relieve my initial symptoms and nothing worked until I found Wylie!!! Keep in mind that the pain relief isn't immediate, however, it does feel slightly better but it also has to be consistent visits unlike the massage therapy sessions. Each visit is slightly better than the last as far as my tense muscles are concerned. I even got my husband to go for these treatments as he has a very laborious job that tends to inflame his back muscles where they become hard and extremely swollen which has him looking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame... not cute! But with the positive outcome I was having, hubby decided to give it a try and always felt better after the sessions. Let me preface this with the fact that rarely feel compelled to leave a review and that I was not sure if Wylie (owner) could truly help me or not. I had a sciatica going on for 3 weeks that was extremely painful, I could not sit literally and had to either stand up or be laid down. Doctors had no solutions for me aside from taking muscle relaxant and waiting it out. After 3 weeks laying down in bed I was going nuts, and my wife booked an appointment with Wylie. I did 3-4 intense sessions once a week with a mix of acupuncture, cupping, electric stimulations and deep tissue massage. Those were fairly intense (in a good way, I was very sore the next day) meaning that they truly kick started my recovery. I saw noticeable improvements after the first session, and I have since now fully recovered. There is not doubt in my mind that without Wylie's help I would either still be suffering and/or would be subject to regular flare up. He was extremely professional and attentive at the same time, and from my personal experience the results speak for themselves. This review is for their Thursday yoga classes as I have not used the acupuncture services. I am really glad that I found this class because it's right down the street and I needed to return to a regular yoga practice. The space is quite small, it fits about 3 to 4 students comfortably, so it's good for folks who would like a smaller, more attentive class. Christopher, the teacher, makes a lot of adjustments throughout the class, which I find helpful. I would say the pace of the class is for beginning to intermediate levels, it's not too intensive but also not slow. You definitely can get a good flow going. I'm returning to yoga after a couple years off and am enjoying it. I sleep better on the nights I do the class and feel more balanced over all to have yoga as part of my week again. The price is reasonable as well - $12 if you email them 24 hours in advance, or $14 at the door. read more

Wylie was kind, warm, gentle, super knowledgeable about fertility, good at problem-solving as my various pregnancy discomforts came up, and gracious even when I sassed him. I have been going to Remedy Wellness Studio, Oakland, for over a year now. I usually get the whole combo, acupuncture, massage, cupping and counselling all in one. First Wylie, sit you down and assess the main issues and consult with you on what to focus on, or see if anything has changed since the last session, then a little more chat in the end which helps to come back to my senses after being face down for 90 minutes. I like these little chat sessions, shows how attentive Wylie is and understand that even though most people seek alternative health for a reason, even though it is more for prevention, problems or issues may change over time. Even though I go to him mostly for my back pain, sometimes I need more help low energy or to fight a cold. Wylie also knowledgeable and competent in herbal consult and have herbs available if I need it. I only have tried it twice, for a cold and low energy but has helped both times. The studio atmosphere relaxing, peaceful and quiet. Acupuncture with electric stimulation, followed by a skilful great massage, then finished by cupping.
