While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. A different stormchaser company (not JHK, I don't think) got me to submit a claim last year; my insurance denied the claim, cancelled my hale and wind coverage, and eventually told me I have to get a new roof on my own dime or they are dropping me. So now I have to replace a roof that probably would have lasted a few more years. These stormchaser companies that tell you "it won't cost you anything" are lying liars who lie. It will cost you a pissed-off home insurance company that will punish you with raised rates and/or cancelled insurance for submitting the claim! (I'm a new homeowner btw; I had no idea the insurance company would react like this.) Bhan Chang from JHK apparently decided the whole "no soliciting" thing didn't apply to him. He rang my bell and tried to offer JHK's stormchaser submit-a-claim-to-your-insurance services. That's trespassing. Not only is it trespassing, but stormchaser companies are the whole reason I put the sign up! Just leave me alone.

The addition needed the entire roof replaced, and they came highly recommended to me by a coworker. I went with them and we are so glad we did. They came out to quote, and Chris the Project Manager was really thorough and explained everything that needed to be done. He mentioned if anything was uncovered what would also have to happen. We felt really confident in choosing them for the job. Yes the quote was higher than the roofer we had in during the inspection of the property, however, that roofer is listed in these reviews as a company that AB had to help a customer fix their work, so we were fine with the pricing. During the roof replacement we found we needed additional work done, but this was all discussed upfront as a possibility, so was not a surprise. The work was done quickly, and so well. Fast forward to March, and there was a leak that was in our master bathroom. The contractor on the house has been shady and not wanting to help with this as he "never touched the roof". We decided to finally just go back to AB as we knew they would help quickly and do the best job possible. They also knew about this issue back in December when they were doing the other project, and were there to help if needed they said. How great is that, knowing they would do the work for us and feeling good about it because they really cared. So, I called up Chris the PM, and he got here in about a week. Took a day to do the majority of the work, and even an additional cosmetic fix because of that crazy windstorm we had. They have about one more day left of work, not even, and that was because it rained the other day. We are fully confident that this has fixed the leak, and we can now get to work on the interior fixes in the bathroom. I cannot recommend them more. Go with them, even if they might have a higher quote then another roofer. You will not regret it!

It does not heat up. They have been notified and initially promised to send someone to repair it. No one came. All attempts to contact them, including the company's owner Michael Sokolovsky have since gone unanswered. The temperature has dipped to 55° in my home. I am a senior citizen who is suffering with congestive heart failure, high blood pressure atrial fibrillation as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and rheumatoid arthritis . It's hard for me to get around much less dealing with inadequate heat. I find their inactions incomprehensible and I can't imagine why they don't fix this. I paid $5,100 cash out of pocket thinking they'll do a great job. Quite the opposite. In fact, they did such a shoddy job of installing it that they left cracks and holes in my wall allowing outside air to flood into my home. I've reported them to the Better Business Bureau and the Illinois attorney general consumer fraud bureau. My advise is to stay as far away from them as possible.

Looking for another alternative, we contacted MMDS and sent them pictures of the current set-up. We approved MMDS quote on a Tuesday, got the permit approved on Wed, and they installed the system on Friday. The installer was very professional and even fixed an issue with the dryer vent while he was there. The final price was exactly as originally quoted with no add-ons. Young and his team replaced my entire roof, gutters, and downspouts within the estimated time…read more Young was very communicative with the timeline and progress of the job. They were meticulous and went above and beyond throughout the project. One portion of my roof had rotted plywood and they went ahead and replaced it before installing the shingles. The bottom of the original downspouts was about a foot short of the ground. They replaced those with down spouts that went all the way to the ground, allowing my down spout extender adaptors to be more securely attached. Overall, Young's team was easy to work with and they did quality work done on time. I would definitely recommend them.
