Had a great stay here the other night for a work conference. Parking is easy and check in was fast. They have a great restaurant/ bar in the hotel. I go their breakfast in the morning and it was really good. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was super comfy and so were the pillows. It's also in walking distance to lots of things.

Good: Lobby, conference areas, room design, ambient sunlight in rooms, temperature control, comfortable bed and pillow. Room for immense improvement: Housekeeping - So many obvious spots and stains in the room and restroom that could have been easily cleaned with a wet wipe. No hand soap or shampoo in the freshly turned over room. I understand if things run out during my stay and housekeeping can replenish during the stay. But I found the shampoo empty at check in and no hand soap. Lack of microwave in the room: people with food allergies or sensitivities who don't find safe food options easily or people with medical conditions that need to eat at certain times should have the option to warm up something and have it in their rooms.

Nice stay near the capitol building. The Renaissance always offers a fun stay within walking distance of many things. Check in was fast and easy. I enjoy the Marriott app to make customizations when needed. My only complaint and I can live without it is that I didn't get my complimentary water, my room wasn't cleaned after my first night - just needed some additional amenities such as coffee and creamer. My room wasn't stocked so my options were decaf coffee or extra dark. Rooms and view are beautiful.

We checked in late, I will say I was a bit nervous given the surrounding areas driving on the way there. You have to pay $28 for parking which isn't the worst I've paid but I don't get when you're paying to stay somewhere why would you need to pay for parking. The lobby was nice, our room was clean that is all I can ask for. We ordered room service in the morning and it came very quickly! On top of that the food was actually good. So just an overall good stay for me b

Friendly staff and spacious rooms. Comfortable bedding and mattresses and air conditioning to keep even a polar bear like me cool.

I selected to stay here after the good reviews I saw online. I was in town for a wedding and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable. The front desk staff were helpful when I needed some water and the the dispenser was not out yet in the lobby. The hotel has coffee in the lobby if you need some caffeine to get your day started also. My room was clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. I also enjoyed the fact the doors lock after a certain time at night and your card is needed to get back in. I'd come back here again if I need a stay.

Check in: efficient check in on a recent Friday evening; asked for a room upgrade based on my status and clerk responded that my room was already upgraded. Room (1116): Lighting is an issue at this hotel. The entryway was dimly lit, and throughout the room lighting was woefully inadequate. Large open concept room, at least 450 sq feet. Smaller LG TV, mini-refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, all the normal items. Bed: Mediocre mattress-only bed. Average linens. Cleanliness of room: average; found hair on the furniture and the nightstands were not clean. Noise/sleep quality: No noise between rooms during our stay, but street noise came into the room and woke us up during the night. The windows really don't insulate the street noise. Service: in general employees were adequate. Twice during our brief stay we went to the front desk and had to wait a few minutes before anyone arrived to assist. Restaurant: On-site full service restaurant called "Wellingtons." Parking: $17/day in the garage attached to the hotel. No valet service. Club: If you have status, there's a club. On the weekends it's closed, but we were able to access it to get some bottled water. Misc: This is a downtown hotel and there are restaurants within walking distance. Also the state capitol building is across the street.

This hotel is in downtown Albany. It is in a great location to the Capitol, literally across the street and many attractions within walking distance. Arrival: We arrive in the evening around 7pm. The hotel can be a challenge to find and then trying to find the entry is yet another challenge in the dark. There was no door man or any people at the hotel front entry, but as soon as you enter, you are in the lobby, relatively small lobby and employees are standing behind interesting shaped counter for hotel check-in. Employees are friendly. Room: 1116 is a nice spacious room with a TV stand separating bedroom from the living room. The room is very dark. I turned on all the lights and it was just too dark. If the living room and the bedroom had some overhead lighting it would help. Notice the darkness for the coffee pod picture. That is how dark the front part of the room is with all the lights on and the blinds open in the room. The cleanliness was okay. I would not recommend walking barefoot. I did wipe down all surfaces because there was either hair or dirt on the bed side tables. Bed: No box spring, just a mattress which made this bed lower to the ground. It was comfortable, but not as luxurious. The bed linens were clean. Pillows were sort of on the flat side, double up to get the height of one willow. The sleep quality is okay. While you cannot hear noise between rooms, you can hear street noise. We were here Friday night and I was able to hear a few cars, cannot imagine what a midweek stay would be like. Bathroom: The bathroom was dark too but good Aveda products. The towels were thin and showing wear but clean. Applying makeup can be a challenge. I did open up all the blinds to bring natural light into the room. Room Amenities: The coffee pods provided in the rooms was the best Keurig coffee that I ever had. Bold rich and full of flavor. Parking: onsite to the side of the hotel. I recommend parking in the garage versus the street or another lot. It is convenient to park. Onsite restaurant: Wellington where we had breakfast. It was fabulous! If you can do a delicious breakfast, I am sure dinner is great too. Offsite restaurant: The City Beer Hall is right down the street. If you like beer and burgers.. this is a good place.

I didn't go around the room taking pictures but here's an example of the grime around the shower door...

PROS We stayed here for a couple of nights recently. Booked deluxe king and it was a nice size room. Comfortable bed. Upon request we had enough pods for the coffee maker. We got breakfast from the restaurant and it was a bit starch heavy (hash) but generously portioned. Free parking around the corner. Situated next to a park. Plenty of stuff to do with kids in the area. The lobby is nice. That's the only part of the hotel we saw. The restaurant / lounge didn't seem to be very busy but breakfast was good and FAST. You can't order it ahead you have to place the order the morning of but they are speedy. CONS We are loyalty club members but we did not get an upgrade. The front desk staff seemed a bit checked out. At any rate they are very unobtrusive. The blackout curtains are poorly fitted so not a perfect blackout and that is always a huge disappointment. The cleaning staff barely spoke English to the point where we asked for extra coffee pods and they brought us cups. There were some areas in the room that were excessively filthy. Notably the sliding glass doors to the shower are very difficult to keep clean and they have gotten disgusting. A few other details caught my attention but I didn't go around photographing them.... Overall I would say at a glance everything in the room looks fine. It's once you've been in there for a couple days and spent time in it you might notice this and that. AND HERE IS MY MAIN GRIPE: Also in that same vein I left a specialty charger in the room and it was not turned in. Value $65. I called multiple times only to finally realize that I was never going to be getting it back. Managers need to enforce with staff for guests' belongings to be turned in for safeguarding.

I've stayed at this Renaissance two times now and have had nice experiences! It's located in the heart of downtown Albany with views of the capitol from many rooms. On my most recent visit, I received a complimentary upgrade for being a Bonvoy member. My room felt super large with more than enough space to hang, work, sleep, and refresh. The bed was super comfy with soft sheets, I especially enjoyed the Aveda toiletries, complimentary water bottles, and TV that flips around. There is a restaurant on the main floor where I did have breakfast the first time I came and it was good. Room service is also available until 11:00 pm. I checked out the gym on the lower level this time and it had everything you may need to get in a good workout. The machines felt modern and it was clean. I opted to park in the garage which is $17 per night and you use your room key to get in and out. It's connected to the hotel, so you don't have to walk outside which is great if the weather is bad. The staff is welcoming and friendly, so overall, I really can't complain! I would continue to stay here if I need a hotel in the area and would recommend it to others.

Dusty, hairy bedside table. Didn't get cleaned up when housekeeping came through to do a refresh.

I've used similar extended stay hotels in the past & always had a good to great experience. Same with the Staybridge. Overall, it was a very good experience. The front desk staff were nice enough, for the most part, up until our last eve & check out morning, did we encounter a new front desk gal who was extremely upbeat & helpful. We asked for a picture together as the waitress at the Ruths' Chris steakhouse pretty much gave us the brush off when we asked if she could snap a photo before we left. The gal gladly obliged & seemed excited to learn that we were newly discovered siblings who found each other a few years ago & this was our first time away together to do some bonding... Here's the rundown of some of my thumbs up/thumbs down/meh... *I was told there would be coffee waiting if either party arrived before check-in. Unfortunately my sibling said the coffee wasn't hot & it was apparent that it was sitting out for awhile. That's a thumbs down! *About the bathroom in the suite - Floor seemed kind of sticky, I found some dust build up on the TP holder & the tub floor had no kind of slip prevention. It almost appeared there was a long time ago & maybe it wore off or was removed? There are marks on the tub floor but that was all. I recently had a knee injury & I was trying to step very carefully while holding onto the 2 small shower racks on the wall which you can place your soap on or whatever. I felt this was an accident waiting to happen & should be taken care of asap before someone takes a slip in that tub. And also, they could do better with their TP. I drove to the hotel & brought some softer varieties from home. But seriously, c'mon! Extended stays should splurge a bit for something like that imo. *We had the breakfast on Sat & Sun morning. Meh... The coffee was ok the first morn (Sat) but not so great on Sun or Mon morn. There's a decent variety of stuff but nothing to write home about. It's definitely a money & time saver to have the option for the complimentary breakfast though so it mostly should hit the spot. It worked for us. *The room overall was nice & cozy. There was a coffeemaker in the room (didn't use it) but I was disappointed there was no Keurig. I guess because they provide coffee but a lot of people like their Keurig's these days & can easily bring their favorite coffee along which I did. Oh well... *The bed was pretty damn comfortable. The room was quiet for the most part but then I was woken up several times during the nite to some weird noises that seemed to be coming from the hall. I have no clue & could not say what was going on. Could have been just a neighboring guest coming in or out because the doors close super hard with a big loud bang (EEK)! *Upon check out we had to do a split bill which I was hoping would not cause any confusion but we had the help of the nice gal from the nite before & a super nice manager who jumped in to make the check out an easy one & didn't mind taking the extra steps to help. Big thumbs up! *Parking was no issue, there's a big lot there. I know it seems I'm focusing a lot on the 'thumbs down' most of all but I write this to point out some stuff in hopes that management will see it & take stuff into consideration & also so people know in advance what to possibly expect. There's always room for improvement but with all that I would definitely consider using a Staybridge again if needed. This hotel was better than a lot of places I've stayed in the past so that says a lot... Overall, a thumbs up experience!

Not a big deal, but I don't know that this is something you'll really know until check-in. The building a few doors down where I stayed also appeared to be historic though a bit less grand on the main level than the main house. The lobby of the building was festively decorated for the holiday. With the bright windows, a sofa, Christmas music playing, and a tree twinkling, one afternoon I couldn't resist getting a little work done in the lobby. My room was cozy with a small kitchenette, bed, arm chairs, and desk. The arm chairs are cute but not very comfortable. The desk was perfectly positioned overlooking the windows, which made for a great spot to work. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and probably needs to be replaced (it was sinking on both sides with a high spot in the middle). For my solo traveling girlies: +The inn is not staffed all night +Doors have old fashioned keys, deadbolts, and chains +The surrounding neighborhood seems nice and safe enough +Parking is slightly off site and requires walking around the block or through the back of the property. The main one being that I was unable to enjoy the tub as much as I would have liked. The first night the jets didn't work, and someone was nice enough to come by the next day and fix it. Later that night I was looking forward to finally using the tub as intended (and even cancelled a spa day for it) but the other guests had already used all of the hot water by then. I left without getting much of any enjoyment from the tub, which is the main reason I booked the room in the first place. The other issue was the parking situation, which, to be fair, I should have anticipated before booking, considering its location. The parking spot doesn't come with the room, so you must pay extra to access it, and finding it in the dark after dinner is not easy when you have to follow a paper map and there is a line of cars behind you. Walking back to the inn alone in the dark was also pretty unsettling. Overall, this experience was the opposite of relaxing. I will say that the property is very pretty, though, and seemed to be clean.

The building itself is impressive, although maybe not quite as impressive as the castle-looking building next door. Our party of seven settled in at the bar as there otherwise did not seem to be a large enough table for all of us to gather around in either the main lounge area or a small room off to the side. The dark wood paneled walls, large fireplace, assortment of easy chairs, couches, and high desktop table gave off a feeling of warmth and welcoming. The friendly bartender introduced herself (sorry I've forgotten her name) and informed us that spirit-wise, the bar was capable of preparing the standard, traditional drinks like Manhattans, martinis, etc. All beers were poured from cans, and at my request, she recited the names of about six that were available. I don't believe anyone in our party inquired about the wines that were available. The building simply calls out for an explanation of its history. Upon our request, the bartender offered to provide either the "brief" or "full" option. We requested the full history. She was obviously well up to the task. You would be amazed at the variety of things you could learn here. Just to touch on a few key topics that were mentioned, consider Alexander Hamilton's wife, puffed rice, Bab-o cleanser (cue up the jingle), Bishop Gibbons, and an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know what the normal food arrangements are in the Lounge. I'm guessing that our out-of-town hosts requested some snacks for us as a few bowls appeared with mixed nuts, crackers and cheese, fresh grapes, humus, and warm pretzel/croissant rolls, and a plate of prosciutto wrapped cream cheese. Overall, the atmosphere here is simply friendly and inviting. I think it will become an occasional gathering place for our local friends when looking for a place that is quiet and relaxing.

The mediocre: bed & pillows weren't 100% as comfortable as we would have hoped. The towels were not soft and fluffy. I also don't like that most hotels, including this one, use a generic type shampoo/soap (I have to use a lot of caution because I have had reactions to those types). The tv had 2 issues - the remote didn't work well and it also needed settings adjusted but wasn't accessible to fix via the room's remote (the picture shows up super bright and lower quality video due to its setting). One elevator was not working while we were visiting (thankfully there was a 2nd one - it just slowed the process of use). The noise from other guests were not a problem - there was a loud'ish fluctuating hum noise heard after midnight that was coming from possibly another floor level. I was able to fall asleep with the noise - it just wasn't as pleasant of a sound as I would normally want. I wouldn't say there was anything truly "bad" about our stay. Courtyard guests must pay a la carte at the restaurant The Bistro, which is located in the hotel lobby, but the food and drink are so expensive that most of my co-workers and I ate at the Starbucks less than a mile away. We went to The Bistro at night for drinks. All drinks were so strong that some of us got inebriated on only one drink. They were not watered down. I had the Cherry Old Fashioned, which the bartender said is the restaurant's most popular cocktail: Bourbon, Bourbon Cherries and muddled fruit. For $12, it was a bargain! There are two seating areas outside, each having a fire pit table. They were the highlight of our stay. We imbibed our cocktails and chatted there. Sitting by the fire was a pleasant way to unwind after a hard day's work. I highly recommend the Courtyard Albany Airport, for business or pleasure.

Stayed here for a week and had no complaints with the hotel. Gym is decent where you can get a…read moresolid workout in. There's plenty of parking and restaurants are close by. The restaurant in the hotel is okay. You can tell most of the food is re heated. The Cobb salad was pretty good and fresh but the pizza and quesadillas weren't good. The room itself is a good size and the bed was comfy
