After years of X-rays, MRIs, dozens of physical therapy/conditioning attempts and hundreds of spams I learned that running did the trick for my back, but eventually that led to an ankle sprain, knee issues and hip pain on my right side, along with back shifting from my younger days. After more X-rays, MRIs, barium injections, spinal surgery consultations, new shoes, new mattresses, depressing prognostications from a quack chiropractor, and Kaiser PTs with vacant stares giving me the same old exercises without much thought - I was nearly ready to accept defeat. Now at my 49th birthday it was time to do something about this. My wife helped me research some new services that had great recommendations, in exchange for me committing to not give up. She found several people including Josh at BaseCamp. We interviewed them all and Josh proved to be the most thoughtful about what I had been going through and what I needed. Josh's approach is terrific - he listens to my pain story and attempts at managing it, which guides his approach. He recognized that there are multiple ways to approach solving the pain and actually tests whether the exercises he is recommending will work. If they don't work, he quickly moves on - no wasted time. He takes a baseline, does the experiment, tests for good results - on the spot and at the follow-up meetings. Pragmatic & effective. The exercises are already giving me a lot more flexibility after a few weeks and most importantly, they are demonstrated to be working from the beginning - this keeps me highly motivated, as I know I am doing something helpful and not just given to me from some generic list of exercises. He has a great community of practitioners in his network and hooked me up with a physical trainer who is excellent as well. I was a little unsure about how to write this review, as Eddie is very different from other…read morephysical therapists who teach exercises, give you handouts and send you on your way. After seeing Eddie twice about chronic back pain due to spinal stenosis, I was a little disappointed that I wasn't given any exercises to do to alleviate my pain. Since my last visit however, I have suffered a major setback where I ended up in the ER and now much of what Eddie said to me about advocating on my own behalf with my HMO is finally making sense. After receiving contradictory advice from the PT and the doctor about my prognosis, I am returning to Eddie for advice and guidance once again. Having spent several years as a PT at my HMO, he understands their system. He also knows a lot about what tests are necessary to make a proper diagnosis and how to position your request for these tests so your doctor can authorize them. Little did I know on our last visit, how prophetic his advice about the importance of self advocacy would be. For those of you with more treatable injuries, I am sure Eddie can help you, as he has my neighbor. If, like me, you have a chronic, congenital condition, and you don't feel like you are making progress, you may want to consider seeing Eddie for health advocacy coaching and support.

When I was finally able to go to physical therapy, I went to Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy on Farmers Lane. They were the best thing that happened to me since my TKR. Kyle was my physical therapist then and since I have returned He is my PT now. He is most knowledgeable and is such a kind, patient and positive human being. When you are in pain, it is hard to be positive. Kyle is most supportive, empathetic and encouraging. He is always up to date on the most recent advances in PT and healing. He is a master at his craft and genuinely cares about helping people heal, get physically and mentally fit and to live safely in whatever circumstance brings them here. Guy and John are also great Physical Therapists & human beings. Watching them interact with their patients is inspiring. Each and everyone of them are truly good people who are dedicated to their patients safety and healing. I had a great and successful experience at this physical therapy clinic. Sarina was friendly and very knowledgeable, and she helped me recover from my shoulder surgery. Plus exercises to keep my shoulder strong. They were all encouraging and educated me along my training. I am now back at the gym and pickleball courts but with caution .
