I'm going to explain why I rated this hotel so highly, I promise! Near the airport! Check. Approximately £14 by taxi to get here. Would have been almost that for both of us to take the train. On first appearance, I was cringing. They need to do something with the outside appearance if only to pressure wash the algae off. The lobby interior is spacious and well decorated. Staff greeted us and checked us in promptly. They also recognized our feather allergy and status. Upgrade to the top floor. Lounge access. Nonalcoholic drinks and snacks all day. Happy hour from 5-7. Plus we get breakfast in the lounge. Are you kidding me? We are making money by staying here. The rooms are small and dated. But you can tell that they have made some improvements. Bottom line is it is clean. There is no dust on the baseboards, no algae, mold or soap scum anywhere in the bathroom. And I look! Not only is it conveniently located to the airport but you can hop on the train and get anywhere in down town London you want to go in 45 minutes or less. Staff is friendly and helpful. We only paid $118/night. That's a win!

The Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel is a fantastic choice whether you are on a layover, dealing with a cancelled flight, or just looking for a comfortable staycation. I had a quick work meeting and did not want to stay in central London, so I opted for one night near LHR. The location is incredibly convenient, with buses leaving the Central Heathrow Bus Station every ten minutes and reaching the hotel in under ten minutes. I personally prefer the public buses over the Heathrow Hoppa Bus because they are quicker and easier to use. The front desk team was wonderful. I called ahead to request an early check-in, and while it depends on availability, they were polite, professional, and accommodating. The beds are pure comfort, like sinking into clouds after a long international flight. In the middle of my stay, I realized how much thought went into every detail, from the strong water pressure in the shower to the reliable Wi-Fi and wide TV channel selection. The rooms also have mini-fridges, which is always a nice touch. If you are craving a quick meal, there is a McDonald's across the street that hits the spot after a long day of travel. The gym is impressive and far more spacious than most airport hotels. I truly loved my stay at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel and can honestly say it makes even an airport stopover feel like a relaxing getaway.

Sink faucet in room. Needs a replacement or a good cleaning.

I'm a Marriott fan, so whenever I get to stay in one, I will. I also have a rule that when I travel, the last night if available, I stay in a Marriott, just because I know, 95% of the time, it will be comfortable. I booked this hotel because I was flying into Heathrow at 10pm and flying out the next day at 12:30. I booked an upgraded room with a runway view. What I got was barely an apology, and an excuse that British Airways passengers had missed connections and they arrived before me, but I'll get a room. As a Marriott Lifetime Titanium Elite, I actually expect the room I booked, but I understand, things happen and I only needed a comfortable room for less than 8 hours. What did I get... a key to the executive lounge that was still open at 11:30 with snacks and water, and a room with a view of a parking lot at the same price I paid for in advance for the upgraded room. I didn't complain, I was leaving in the morning and I knew, no one would listen. So now for the hotel... it needs a MAJOR refurbish. I felt like I was back in the 90's. The carpeting was old, and the faucet on the sink in the bathroom needed a deep clean or replacement. Obviously, being at Heathrow, they have a captive audience and don't have to be good. They don't have a hotel shuttle to or from the airport, so plan on a $25 cab. There is a bus for $13 but the instructions sent were so confusing, it was easier to just grab a cab.

Bar Eleven, Server was fast and friendly! Tables clean, lots of activity in this ground floor bar. Football was on large TV's and lots of banter. We arrived in London, and are staying at this hotel. Check in was great, we were early in terms of our reservation but were able to get a room quickly. Hotel is close to Heathrow, has a bus service available for airport and front desk can call for taxi/ car service. Some good amenities, gym, 3 restaurants, etc.

This place is a maze for sure. Things are also labeled differently than I'm used to. Usually room 1230 would be the 12th floor but here it's the first floor (aka the second floor for those from the US). The rooms are spacious and clean and the water runs hot immediately so no waiting! I do wish the shower had a handheld but no big deal. There is a lounge for elite members and it is open late with to-go cookies and drinks and fruit. There is no free shuttle but the Hoppa bus is easy enough to find and it was only $11 for a round trip. They only take cash or tap so don't bring a card you can only insert, then the Renaissance is the first stop on the list. Check in was a breeze for me personally due to my elite status but I bypassed a massive line of very angry people in the process.

I was booked here by British Airways after missing a connection, due to a delay on BA's part. The Hotel is nice enough, and I am sure that BA is getting a great deal with the Hotel (if they aren't the owners), as there are easily 150 other guests here due to canceled/delayed/missed flights. It's a plain hotel with no frills. My room was clean. The staff was ok - everyone was simply there to do their jobs, and nothing more. I had simple expectations and this hotel met them. Would I stay here while paying my own way .. probably not.

Good grief! This place has fallen so very far in a few short years. We arrived at about 5:30pm on a Sunday. I noticed that the outside of the hotel looked dirty and run down. I also noticed that there were no porters at the main door and the desk where those helpful folks used to hang out looked abandoned. Once inside, there was a pervasive musty odor and things just looked grimy and old and tired. The furniture in the lobby was discusting, covered in sticky dirt and smelling strongly of decay. We were tired after flying in, so I took a chance that the room might be clean and comfortable. No it wasn't!! As soon as I opened the door a very strong smell like sewage hit me!! No thanks!! When I finally tracked down the on duty manager, he agreed to give me a refund and said he would talk about these issues at an up coming meeting. I believe the hotel was acquired recently and it seems that the new owners do not plan on keeping up the standards. It's marketed under the Bonvoy name. If this is Bonvoy, I'm switching! Truly the worst hotel experience I've had. We booked the Hilton Garden Inn and jumped an Uber for the 8 minute ride. Good decision! Very sad to see this somewhat historic hotel, which I remember from the Penta days, fall so far.

My usual "go to" (The Three Magpies) closed its kitchen due to an electrical malfunction. I grabbed a couple of pints and decided to try the Renaissance Hotel Restaurant and Bar (Bar Eleven). I tried to find a menu online. No luck (See Fotos). So I just had to go and see for myself. So glad I did !! Brogan, my server, was an absolute gem. Great guidance through the menu and kept my beers coming. Got the Chili Chicken Stirfry. So good . Maybe next visit I'll just keep it simple and eat here again !!

This hotel is in close proximity to Heathrow Airport and not much else. This hotel is a zoo with high guest traffic with mostly one night stays. I arrived late in the evening and had to stand in a line to check in. I was able to access my room with no issues. I and was able to get a bite to eat at the restaurant before closing. I got a few beers but the food wasn't very good. I was unable to be checked out in the morning as the computer systems were down. I was also unable to purchase a ticket for the hotel shuttle to Heathrow as the computer system was also down. We had to pay an overpriced taxi fare to get to the airport.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the airport which makes it an ideal location to use if your in a similar situation. The hotel is clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly I found. I opted to have dinner here as well and the food was quite good. I had fish and chips, sweet potato soup and ice cream to finish. The soup came out after the main which was a bit weird but oh well right. The soup was average while the fish and chips were very good. Representing the way the british serve them. The ice cream for dessert was so basic anyone could have served it. Was straight from the packet without much effort. The breakfast buffet was large and offered a grest array of hot foods, pastries, fruits, cereals among other things. Plenty of selection and you definitely wouldn't leave asking for more food. They provided two bottles of still and two bottles of fizzy mineral water, refrigerated in the Executive suite as well as a bath fizzy, a sugary body scrub, a body wash and a shampoo. Note though, they do not provide conditioner. Whatever we needed was only a phone call away. It was prompt service. They had a film and free popcorn for the kids as well as an Xbox in the lobby. The room also had a nice Bose Bluetooth speaker to play our own tunes! Great stay before the long journey back to the U.S. One thing I appreciated as well was the door that closed the toilet and door area from the sleeping area. It cut the noise.

While I certainly thought it was an OK hotel, I have to admit I wasn't particularly impressed with it. Nothing was exactly wrong with the hotel - it was clean, well maintained. The rooms and beds were as comfortable as they usually are to me (hotel beds tend to be a bit firmer than what I like). They have a business center, wi-fi, a gym, the usual amenities. Truthfully, I can't comment on them that much since my mother and I were really only here long enough to drop off stuff initially - and after that we went right to bed so that we could get to the airport early the next morning. My biggest problem with the hotel is ultimately their lack of information about some of the amenities they offer - particularly related to the shuttle service. When I stayed here, it was for one night prior to my flying back home to the US. Since we had stayed in the middle of London for the past week, and we didn't want to walk around the city with our suitcases all day, my mother and I brought our stuff here during the afternoon. We planned to use the shuttle buses to get to the hotel, and then to head back to the Tube via the bus so we could enjoy one last evening in London. And this is a hotel that boasts on its website, "The hotel is perfectly placed for day trips to London's museums, shops and galleries." So we figured our plan was solid. Little did we realize that the shuttle buses cost something like 5 pounds per person, and I believe per trip (though I think there was a slight discount for buying a round trip ticket). As far as I can remember there was absolutely no warning about this cost in advance when our hotel was booked via a travel agency. As of my writing this review I don't see any notice about this on their website, either. Another thing to keep in mind is that the shuttle isn't a shuttle associated with this specific hotel - it's a service that works with multiple hotels. The result is that any commute you're planning on making won't be a speedy one. You'll need to plan on riding in a loop between multiple hotels and the airport. And you'll want to give yourself plenty of time to ride in to the airport - last thing you want is to have to rush to your flight after a long shuttle ride and a slow day at security. Again, as a hotel, this place is just fine. The hotel itself did its job and gave me a decent place to sleep for a night. But they definitely need to look into offering more information in advance to guests who plan on using their shuttle service. Normally I wouldn't focus on the shuttle so much, especially since it's not operated by the hotel itself. But as a hotel that's offering itself as a convenient place to stay for tourists and travelers (in an area where said tourists and travelers are dependent on shuttles and public transit) any and all information related to the shuttle is an extremely important part of anyone's experience here. And guests deserve to know in advance what they're getting into - and, more importantly, NEED to know to ensure they have enough cash on hand for their commutes.

Chicken club was good, and the chips were nice, though not super crispy. The bad news: I think the chicken wing portion was a bit small for $15. The bleu cheese wasn't great. I was charged 5 pounds for a "tray charge," which was confusing, because it's not listed on the menu and I certainly didn't need the tray. The spring rolls definitely have the frozen taste and just too sweet for me. They delivered two bottles of coke, but no bottle opener. We tried to open it ourselves on the side of the counter, and the glass broke, so just a bit frustrating. I called and they brought one right up, though, so lesson learned. (I just wish they'd been a bit kinder or even given an apology for the oversight as opposed to acting like we're asking for something extreme.) Overall, I'd recommend staying for sure.
