We had a previous tear off, meaning we have single layer roofing. I was told by rep that double layer roofing is no longer acceptable In Michigan. So we had to do another tear off. I just checked with Michigan roofing codes and there is no such change in layers. Double layer is acceptable in all Michigan cities. I also checked Go To Roofing for verbiage. Posted on their site shows they do double layer roofing. I don't like being conned. I believed rep as being trustworthy. I did have an option but it wasn't given to me. I called roofing due to possible leak in upstairs back bedroom.

Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. Do not hire this company. We had nothing but trouble getting the job done. We were given multiple…read moredays of coming to do the job and it was changed at least three times. They misrepresented the quality of the shingles. We were told they were the same quality as we had and they weren't. We ordered one color and later told we had to order another color. Our neighbor used the same company and we were assured they were not waiting to do both jobs on the same day. We had our order in ahead of theirs and guess what, both were done in one day. My husband had to go over to the roofers and say, we are first. We were charged for the dumpster rental as was our neighbors and we shared the one dumpster. It was just one thing after another with this company. When the roofers finally showed up the job they did was so-so. There were ripples in the roof edge and we asked them to fix it. It was because we had metal gutter guards on our gutters. So instead of taking the time to do the job correctly, they cut them! Yes, cut them. It voided our warranty and ended up costing us an additional $475 to replace them. Roof Advisor offered to install some cheap plastic ones, telling us that was industry standard and my own research proved that to be untrue. They would have been down the street the first storm we had. By the time the roofers arrived I had lost all confidence in this company, but the supplies had been sitting on our roof for weeks. The supplies were delivered, the shingles put on the roof and the accessories next to the house. It was taking so long after delivery my senior husband had to move it to the garage so it wouldn't be damaged or stolen. It was over two months from the first date we were given until the poor work was done. No permits were filed and we had to ask for that to be done. We had to remind the roofers that the vent needed to be installed, they were in the dumpster. There was poor communication, poor salemanship, poor information related, and just a poor company in all. The company who came to replace the gutter guards said we should send a copy of the bill to Roof Advisor because it was appalling what they did. No reputable company would do this. So, there you have it. No, we did not send the bills because we know it would do no good. Save yourself the aggravation and go with another company.

Well they also have a $500 NON REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE. Of course they don't tell you until after you sign!! We agreed on a type of style /color and apparently my insurance didn't cover it. Did anyone check since they claimed to work with Insurance? nope Did he return the style while on the phone with my insurance and myself the homeowner to prevent a hiccup along the way? NOPE, he said we'll deduct the difference... did we ever receive a difference ? NOPE Yes, it was the "owner" who conveyed the issue after realizing. THE OWNER THREATENED ME THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE REST AND THAT I WAS HOLDING BACK THE CHECK ( I HAD TO WAIT TO GET MAILED OUT TO ME FROM THE INSURANCE) The owner is very good at calling your insurance to see if the check was mailed out but won't do his job when it comes to invoice issues and discrepancy. I trusted a sales rep whose work duration there was only two weeks as he was no longer employed. That should show you how long their employees stay with them.
