Roof Advance was available soon after we found a hole in the shingles and called around. Found them on the Better Business Bureau's web site and could not be happier with our experience with Dominic, Mario, the mason, and the whole Roof Advance team. Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. They even gave us a senior discount, which we were not expecting. Their requested deposit wasn't a lot of money. They have an easy way to pay by e-check, or by credit card online. We had Roof Advance out for a complete roof replacement due to hail damage. This was covered by our insurance, so the cost was not a primary concern, but their estimate was in line with (if not better than) the two other quotes we got. Overall I was very happy with their service and communication. Some other companies felt like they were pushing something on us with their quote, or trying to talk up their products as being superior. During his inspection, Jakob was honest about issues he anticipated ahead of time, but not in a pushy way. I appreciated this, as opposed to having something sprung on us in the midst of the installation. It also made me more confident to trust them to do the job right because of their attention to detail. Getting a heads-up also enabled me to be in communication with the insurance. All this would have been more difficult (and more stressful) if it came after the fact. I also appreciated the range of shingles they offered (they install multiple companies, and presented them all with the possibilities, costs, etc. to consider when deciding between them), and can still offer the company warranty in addition to their own. Overall, I came away very happy with our experience, and would be happy to work with them again if I ever need any roofing done in the future. read more

As good as it gets. I know because did this work for 20 years myself in a former life. Went back to school and got a degree in architecture so I had high expectations. I got 5 other estimates and they were close to the low bid. Jacob gave an honest, no pressure, informative proposal. We live in a historic district and he took care of all the paperwork and permits. We noticed a water stain on the ceiling of our living room over the weekend and Roof Advance was the only company we could get a hold of on a Saturday. They were already booked up for that day but got us in on the following Tuesday. The tech who came to do the repair was friendly and knowledgeable. He showed us pictures of the damage and got it fixed right then! Everyone else we called had a delay of a week or more just to come and give an estimate. These guys just did our roof. The owner was the only guy who actually got on the roof to measure. They quoted our job a year and a half ago and we finally decided to do it so they came back out. Price was more than competitive. The crew was very conscientious of when I was going in and out of the house. They worked hard all day. They cleaned everything up! We were really happy with our experience with Roof Adance. They were courteous and helpful. After our initial call about a tree that fell on our roof and it happened on a weekend. They were there within 24-48 hours. Look at it right away and emailed us a quote. They were able to schedule us right away and came on the designated time and finished it. They had to come back for the gutter, but they did that right away too. They cleaned up very nicely and we are very happy with their work. I do highly recommend them. read more

I was told I needed a new roof by a few different companies and when Roof Advance came out and inspected the roof, he inspected the roof and told me it was good for another 4-5 years and it did not need replacement. I had one shingle tear back and had it repaired and the other companies told me I needed a new roof and the quotes were over $10,000 for a 10 year warranty. But Roof Advance was honest and gave me a quote a two thousand less with a 20 yr warranty and told me I did not need a new roof. I am so happy that there are still honest people out there. This also gives me a few years to save for a new one. I would definitely hire them knowing that if they are honest enough to tell me the truth about needing a roof then they certainly will hold up their word on the workmanship . I am EXTREMELY pleased with Roof Advance - the company I hired to do the job. I had called several roofing companies for estimates and made appointments last Tuesday (6-14). Yakov Smolyanov, the owner of Roof Advance, was able to fit me in his schedule and come out that same day early afternoon (even though I called him that morning). Of the companies I called, he was the ONLY one to climb on the roof to do a thorough inspection. Afterward he took the time to sit down with me and walk me through the entire process on his iPad. He showed me pictures of his equipment, the process involved for a complete roof removal and then step-by-step installation of the new roof. He even had samples of each of the materials to show me that he would be using along with a roof model for demonstration. He spoke of the quality of materials he uses stating he doesn't use the very best but more mid-grade asphalt roof tiles - Atlas Roof Shingles. He mentioned the lowest grade was GAF asphalt tiles (which was the material quoted by the others). When he was done with his presentation and showing me the materials, I was sure I was going to have sticker shock with the estimate. I was wrong. His quote was $1,200 lower than my lowest quote. In my opinion THIS is how you conduct business. Roof Advance is very trustworthy and honest. I hired them right then and there and gave him a deposit. Yakov (pronounced Jacob) provided me with his license and all credentials. He indicated he would pull the permits and would call me within a week with a date they would perform the work. He called me Sunday (gee, a business owner who works on Sundays? That's great in my mind) and wanted to come out first thing Monday (yesterday) 6-20. He was there with his crew and high-end equipment at 7:30 am. He used extra precaution and placed tarps and plywood over anything outdoors to shield/protect it from loose debris. The new roof was installed within 4 hours and my yard and driveway were immaculate. There were no visible signs that any work was performed that morning - except for the new roof that looks just GREAT! I totally recommend this company to anyone. He services all of Southeast Michigan. Most of you know me enough to know that I don't post things very often and when I do, it's usually regarding the rescue and volunteer work that I do. But this company deserves this call out and HIGH RECOMMENDATION. They were the RIGHT PRICE and the RIGHT COMPANY for the job. They are a TOP NOTCH and FIRST CLASS operation!!! Very professional group from the estimate to the final installation and clean up. Make sure you check the manufacture warranty of the shingles, they are not all the same. Some may just warranty the shingle and not the tear off or re-labor. Roof Advance can explain this to you. Roof Advance was great. Also remember to ask for extra shingles in case of an unusually high wind storm. Some colors are hard to match years later. read more

I am a Landlord in the Ypsilanti area, I contacted Advance from an internet add. They responded right away. The price was reasonable and the quote was completed within 2 days of my contacting them. This is the best roofing company I have worked with I have three residences and have had all the roofs replaced one more than twice. The pricing was fair and reasonable. The staff was polite, cleaned up and did a great job. When they accidently broke a walk tile they replaced all the broken tile even the ones they did not break. Work was beyond our expectations.
