Oh, boy! Brunch here was really good! I had the veggie omelette. Usually the vegetables are sautéed then the eggs are added and finally the cheese. Not here, they sauté the vegetables separately and they are part of the filling. That was excellent. The croissant was flaky good, not exactly like in Paris but close. We have frequented this bakery and never disappointed, except when they sell out of a favorite item. Their chocolate almond croissant and their blueberry croissant are among our favorite bakery items. Fresh, crisp and not too sweet. Their staff speak French and are always pleasant and friendly. They have another location off Siesta Drive but this location is more of a bistro/cafe where you can sit and enjoy your food and a good cup of espresso. Met up with a friend here before going to the Ringling museum and it did not disappoint. It is a cute bakery tucked in a corner next to chick fil a. They have a good variety of pastries as well as omelets, sandwiches and salads for breakfast or lunch. The really cool part is the have all the ovens and baking material on display so you can see the items being cooked. This being said the place smelled great! We settled on the Le Nordique and a Creme Brioche. Both were very delicious. The sandwich was cool and refreshing and the brioche was very yummy. My friend got the Le Pan Bagnat which she said she enjoyed and the strawberry tart. I tried some of the strawberry tart and it was yummy. Not too tarty and the strawberries on it were good. I will probably get that the next time I go, I will be back! I recommend trying this place if you have never been! read more

An authentic French bakery, tucked off the side of Clark Rd, Rendezvous is what traditional French pastries are all about. When you first walk in the door, you are hot with the sweet smell of delicious bread, and then greeted by a counter full of French delicacies. The owner, whose name I didn't catch, was extremely generous with his time in explaining the variety of foods on display, and giving his recommendation for what should be consumed. I picked the Feuillete, which was explained to me as a hot dog in a croissant with honey Dijon mustard. It was amazing. Who would have thought a hot dog could be made to be fancy. My wife had the quiche Lorraine, which was also amazing. Everything about this place was amazing (yes overusing that word, but it is). We are fortunate to live close by so stopping by just to grab a few baguettes is always an option. My husband and I have tried both quiche options, the Croque Monsieur, hot dog and have loved everything we have tried. We are not much for sweets but took two tarts over to a friend as a thank you and they could not stop raving about how fabulous the tarts were. We finally had a chance to try this bakery and we were not disappointed at all. The staff were so nice and friendly. We ordered and chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful day. We made our purchase and the staff brought our food out to us. Everything was tasty. When we were leaving the gal was right there to clear and sanitize the table for the next guests. We will be visiting again. The only disappointment was there is no restroom open to the customers. read more

Quiche was nice consistency but had no flavor of cheese, the accompanying fruit bowl was completely lackluster--looked as though it was all old fruit, one of the grapes was half brown.
