One thing I really appreciated was that they leave a full bottle of syrup on the table, so you don't have to deal with those tiny bottles every time you want more. The coffee was hot and fresh, just what you want with a big breakfast. The place was busy when we arrived, but the manager stepped in right away to take our order, which kept things moving. This was our first time here. There was a lot of hype about this place and I even had a friend that worked here but we never indulged into the cuisine until now. The service I will say was great from the moment we stepped into the door no doubt. The cafe vibe was immediately noticed but the food was I'd say right in the middle depending on your palate you could go either direction of good or not so good so for me it was okay. I got the chicken fajita omelette which I thought was pretty good the potatoes we all agreed that the round cut potatoes were kind of still potatoey. The pancakes huge pancakes my mom got that and those were absolutely trinormious. My lady got the eggs benedict and that was cooked well well done so in line of it all basically the food was Cafe type food. If you order eggs Benedict at a cafe you're going to get well done eggs benedict but the experience was good and if you want to go out for breakfast hey I wouldn't say don't I'm sure we'll probably go back but I know my lady won't get the eggs benedict. read more

A good breakfast My visit to Keke's was unplanned, I found myself with time, an appetite, and close by this morning. My first impression was the place is large, spacious. A hostess greeted me and got me seated, my server followed and got me coffee right away. I looked over the menu. Half the menu had griddle items, the other side listed lots of omelettes along with other egg dishes, sandwiches, and wraps. I settled for their Eggs Benedict, with their Home Fries as my side. I had written a glowing review years ago about their home fries. The food was ready in about 7 minutes. Looked great on the plate. To me, what makes a great Benedict is the Hollandaise Sauce. Theirs had a nice buttery flavor, I wish they had included more. After my first sample, I kind of lost track of the Hollandaise taste as I ate my food, the egg and Canadian Bacon flavors taking over. The home fries had a bit of an earthy taste, otherwise they were very good. Known primarily for their waffles. The menu is full of other options. It perhaps is a bit short on egg selections other than a fair amount of omelet choices. I would like to see corned beef hash added to the menu. The setting has a large number of booths, without tables. I witnessed an expectant mother who was far along struggle to fit into a booth. I placed an order for a two-egg combo breakfast that included toast or English muffin, home fries, but no meat. I choose the English muffin. The eggs were properly prepared, and the muffin and home fries were very good. An order of pancakes passed by. They will be ordered on my next visit. Kekes is an excellent choice for a breakfast visit. I haven't tried their waffles, which I understand is what they are known for. While I prefer mom-and-pop locations It's one of many excellent options for choosing a satisfying breakfast in Sarasota. My only reservation is the lack of tables. read more

We eat here about 2-3 times per week. They have an extensive menu and everything is made from scratch. Their pancakes/waffles are made from a propriety batter are both delicious. Be careful if you order their "Floridian" pancakes because they are huge. Three cakes, completely covered by fresh fruit are only possible to finish unless you are one of those bottomless teenage males. I learned after my first time ordering to limit myself to ONE pancake and the same amount of fruit. Everything I have tried was delicious, plentiful and well prepared. My wife enjoys their grilled cheese and turkey club sandwiches. Service is excellent by all who served as, especially Alex. Gus, Jennifer, and Lindsey are very good too. Lisa, the manager always stops by the table to chat and makes everything is up to par. She runs a tight ship but always in a friendly way towards the staff. When cam out looked like not even toasted it was so light blonde. Asked for hot sauce... waited 10-15 min but none. Finally saw her and asked for it again... she said "I thought I gave it to you"... not on table? When guy delivered meal she came over noticed toast and made it again. Still not dark but said fine. Asked for fork & knife. She. Said she didn't sleep well last night plus sick kid so she's off. No worries. Omelette was ok Luke warm to not warm. My favorite id the Blueberry Pancakes. They are without a doubt the best Blueberry pancakes in the area. They give you three huge Blueberry Pancakes. They have such a great taste. I was told they use a butter and oil combination to cook the pancakes. That and a side of Turkey Bacon, is the best. I have to limit my visits to this place or I will become huge. Most of the time i eat half of them and take the other half home for another meal. Its usually a pretty busy place, but the prices are reasonable and the staff is great.
