Very poor. I asked if they could still do the strawberry waffle after lunch, the server said no problem. The waffle was stale and burnt, no syrup or coulis. Very dry, so disappointing. My husband's pastry dessert was stale. The restaurant could be so much nicer in décor, why not some French charm? A waste of time and money. If they don't care, I don't care. Buh-bye. read more

Had breakfast here before taking a test upstairs. The service was excellent, food even better! I got the croissant breakfast which was PLENTY! The scrambled eggs bacon and butter on the croissant was so delicious! As a side I went with the hash browns and they were also good, on the crunchy side but I enjoyed that! Overall well worth the price. I also had the chai latte for my drink and of course they provide complimentary water. They have tables outside, in the establishment and some inside the building. After our test we also tried their macaroons, chocolate, vanilla and coconut! DELICIOUS I definitely would come back here when in the area for some breakfast, their lunch menu also looks great! read more

Had a reservation for yesterday, just past 11am. They had no idea we had reservations and the waitress looked stunned when a mentioned a reservation. they suggested outdoor seating. I took my two daughters to brunch today... We were excited to try the crêpes and a sandwich. My daughter wanted... It is very small and there are some tables out front, which would be amazing to sit at, but it was very crowded so we sat inside the apartment hallway, which had a few table set up. I ordered the tuna and Swiss Crepe. It was one of the most delicious lunches I've ever had! My one daughter ordered a Nutella and banana, sweet crêpe and loved it as well. My other daughter who ordered a ham Swiss sandwich with the Sunnyside egg on top said it would've been good except they overloaded it with nutmeg All in all except for the seating I would give my food a 9! Like I said, the only drawback was not enough seating and the service is very slow, but that was to be understood because there were so many people and only two people working the restaurant one serving and one cooking read more

I'm visiting from New York and in NYC French cafés are actually French. This is not. The food isn't horrible, but it is pretty mediocre, and the service is hostile. ( More in that later.) I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant with spinach and a side salad. They put very cooked, mushy spinach on the sandwich. Obviously I had expected fresh spinach. I've never had anyone put cooked spinach on an egg sandwich before. It looked and tasted like something Popeye would've drank out of a can. I scraped it off the sandwich, but the weird aftertaste of the possibly canned, cooked spinach was still there. The cappuccino was mediocre. Pretty tasteless. Mostly tasted like hot milk. The side salad was notably, Romain, lettuce, onions, and corn. So French! I probably would've left three stars except for the very weird experience I had with the wait staff. People think New Yorkers are rude, but it seems Sarasota people can be quite hostile, which is pretty surprising to me. If someone spoke to me the way this waitress spoke to me in New York City, it would be fighting words. I found it very offputting. I just got in yesterday. I don't know anything about the restaurants here. This place looks like it might be a walk up and take your food and sit outside sort of situation, so I walked in and asked if there was table service. I was told there was then I went to the bathroom. then I went and sat at a table outside for about 10 minutes and no one came so I went and picked up a menu from the cart myself. A few minutes later, a waitress came out and went around to three different tables, and then started to go back inside, and I said, in in a very polite voice, "excuse me miss," and she turned and snapped at me. "I told you there was table service and I'll be with you in a minute!" Her tone was hostile. I found it very strange. She came back a couple minutes later and was not done telling me off she said, "I told you there was table service. You aren't the only one here. I had other things to do before taking your order. you didn't need to try to wave me down." She was very angry, and I found the situation completely awkward. Literally all I had said to this woman was, "excuse me miss," because I wasn't sure if she had seen me since I was sitting on the side of the door, or if perhaps, she thought someone else had already waited on me. I had my saying "excuse me, Miss" pissed her off, so horribly? I will never know the answer. I told her"I just want to order," and she said,"I know you want to order and I knew that before! I was getting to you!" At this point I felt, like maybe I should just leave. it seemed like she did not even want me there. I didn't know what to do so I said? "Are you anry with me?" It was a really strange an intimate thing to have to say to a waitress, but it disarmed her and she softened, and she said, "no I'm here now you can order." so I ordered a sandwich and a cappuccino. And she was much nicer after that, but it was a strange, intense beginning, especially for a place that serves such mediocre food. my food was served to me, but my cappuccino never came out and I was nervous about asking about that, but I finally got up the courage to say, "sorry to ask and you're probably already taking care of it, but is my cappuccino on the way?" it wasn't. She had forgotten it, and without my asking, she took that off the menu, which was very nice of her. I didn't actually care about the cappuccino being late at all, but the whole tone of this was so tense and the food was not great. Definitely won't go back. Not a great vacation. I ate at Mademoiselle Paris last June with my daughter who used to live in Paris. I lived in Belgium. We were enchanted with the charm of the bistro, and thought the sandwiches were delicious. I couldn't wait to go back! Unfortunately my experiences today weren't as good. The sandwich I had was very tasty, as was the salad, but the bread was thin white American bread, and not as many mushrooms. My husband had a ham and cheese sandwich on the same American white bread for $16.00. It was a lot of ham on it, but the bread was a big disappointment. The waiter was friendly and nice. The ambience was good, but two sandwiches on American white bread for $35.00 was disappointing. I am so sorry my love of this bistro is gone. read more

I love French macarons so any place that is selling them, I will stop in and buy some. The place is cute inside and had a giant Eiffel Tower in the middle of the place. The bakery items in the case looked good but I was there for the macarons only. I asked the staff member about the different flavors that they had and she wasn't the friendliest of people. I chose a variety box of 5. They were a little damaged/crushed and 2 were stale. Would not return, kind of disappointed. read more

I placed my order to go and asked for extra ketchup, the girl looks at me like I just asked her for a huge favor, she paused and goes "we are not supposed to do that but sure". lol seriously? For the past few years, I always make it a point to stop by Mademoiselle Paris on Main Street when I visit Sarasota. The experience I had last week will result in me never eating there again. We grabbed a table outside and waited for 10 minutes for a server to appear. There were people eating at two of the other tables. We ordered one coffee and one water, one omelet, and a Chicken salad wrap (It was called Arc de Triomphe). A different server came back nearly 15 minutes later with the omelet and a chicken salad sandwich....not a wrap. And no drinks!!!! She took our drink order (for a second time) and said she'd be right back. She did come right back with the drinks. SInce we'd waited so long already, I told her that I ordered a wrap and I was given a sandwich on cold dry toast, but I would eat it anyway. She said that they ran out of wraps so they put it on toast. I wish they had told me when I ordered that they had no wraps since the reason I ordered the wrap was the mention on the menu that the wrap was gluten free. The sandwich was just OK. The omelet was good. The service was abysmally poor and there were few people in the restaurant, so not sure what the servers were doing. In any case, I won't be back. There are too many other choices in Downtown Sarasota to take a chance on this place again. read more

So let me start by saying we have been to this location a few dozen times and have always found the food to be good. Unfortunately, the last 3 or 4 times we have gone, the service has been declining to the point of this last visit this morning. We were there for almost 11/2 hours at breakfast time. They were busy but not slammed. Took 10 minutes to get server to take order then waited at least an hour ( scrambled eggs, crepes, fruit, bacon, potatoes for 2) no refill on an iced tea, and decaf coffee was refilled with regular before we could stop them. Then we sat without any service for about an hour. When the server came to table again it was to bring our check. We informed them we still had not gotten food so we did not want the check. He walked away swearing under his breath. Comes back 7 or 8 minutes later to tell us their wifi was down and that the kitchen never noticed they weren't getting any orders!??! But, he had resubmitted our order and it would be out in about 5 to 7 minutes. We then asked to speak to the manager (turns out she was the one who took our order the first time). Manager comes out tells us again that wifi was down. We explain how long we had been waiting and how server had never come out and asked us about refills or anything and that we only saw him again because he was bringing us the check for the food we had not gotten. They finally brought us our food after another 5 minutes...after we had told them to just cancel our order. They did comp us our meals which we did appreciate but, we will not be going back. It stinks that the service has gotten so bad because the breakfast was always good. read more

Chocolate and plain croissants were delightful. We did a big take out order of them as we were staying on the island for a few days and we had croissants for breakfast from this place everyday. I just kept them in the fridge and reheated them a few minutes and they were good til our last day. The crème brûlée was amazing as well. Quiche and salad were very good. We were looking for some good desserts and found this on google. First the good news. Barista was nice and friendly and the espressos were pretty good. However, the desserts were absolutely terrible. We ordered a crème brûlée, a chocolate raspberry mound, and two other pastries. They were all old, dry and stale with a terrible refrigerator taste. Was a disappointment. Three of us visited this restaurant and were looking forward to trying out a new French Restaurant downtown. Unfortunately, all of us decided unless they improved their food, we would not return. Two of us had quiche. My salmon quiche was moist but the salmon itself was dry and there was very little of it. One person had the crab quiche and although her quiche was moist, she could not taste the crab. The third person had a ham and cheese panini and said it was nothing special and had little cheese. Our salads were also nothing special - contained dark greens, tomato bits and corn. The dressing appeared to be from a bottle. Compared to another French Cafe in Sarasota, it was more expensive, served in to-go plastic containers (although we ate inside) and was half as good. I gave it two stars as the regular roasted coffee was good (and hot) as well as the cappuccino. However, the coffee was served in paper cups. read more
