This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I hired Cerdas Upholstery to…read morereupholster my boat cushions and was told I could pay by credit card or Zelle. When I went to pick them up, the manager, Fernando, suddenly demanded cash only and refused to release the cushions. I offered to pay with both Zelle and credit card, as we had agreed, but they refused. I made multiple trips trying to resolve it and wasted over four hours of my time. When I offered to pay via Zelle -- as we had discussed -- both Fernando and his mother refused, raised their voices at me, and behaved in a way that made me feel threatened. I ultimately had to call the police, and only after the officers arrived did they finally agree to accept the Zelle payment and hand over the cushions. To make matters worse, the cushions were in terrible shape -- dirty, marked, with damaged vinyl, no skillset shown, don't know how to do piping, wasted materials -- and still extremely overpriced. They were supposed to make new piping with the vinyl I provided, but at pickup they stated they didn't know how. They put the old piping on, even though I specifically asked not to use the old one at drop off. The business also appears to operate with undocumented workers and shady business practices. The entire process was stressful, unprofessional, and needlessly hostile. I strongly advise avoiding Cerda's Upholstery. You can get better quality reupholstered boat cushions elsewhere for a fraction of the cost, without the aggravation or risk.

I had them build my family a sofa to meet the exact measurements and fill material that I wanted and RX Design Studio created a phenomenal sofa at a fraction of the cost of other designers. I will never return to Costco, Ashley, pottery barn, or west elm. I will simply bring this studio a picture or my imagination and have them build me a custom sofa with the highest quality materials available and have them build it for a fraction of the cost. Having seen what they'd done for other clients, we didn't have much doubt and pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier we did. They put together some renderings for us with measurements and notes, and when a couple of the items weren't quite what we envisioned they immediately changed the renderings to our specs and sent over the new revisions. They really worked with us to ensure that the product we got was the one that would make us happiest. It took about 3 months for us to receive the final product, but once we did it was beautiful, even better than what we'd pictured. It's definitely the centerpiece of our conference room and almost every client remarks on it. I also want to add that only a few weeks in, we had a brief issue where some epoxy fell from a slot in the bottom of the table. It wasn't anything structural, and it happens from time to time so I mostly just wanted to make sure we got it repaired. I called up Graham and he made it happen immediately. Since we're based in San Diego and PW is in LA, he found a solid woodworker down here and arranged for him to come (at cost) and fix it up for us, which made us feel really valued as a customer. I had an excellent experience w/ having them reupholstering a large modular sofa, made up of 3 sections. They are complete professionals. I had a bit of a problem, because the sample of fabric that I liked was lighter in color than the large roll that the fabric factory sent to the Guzman Studio for my sofas. I explained to Rene that even though the colors were similar, the only reason we were reupholstering was that our sofas were too dark, and that I didn't approve of the different shade. He contacted the fabric company, had them accept the fabric as a return, and had them send me a different sample, w/ a written guaranty that the sample I approved of was from the same dye lot as the bolt of fabric they provided to Rene. I was very impressed w/ how Rene handled this problem when it occurred, and would absolutely use them again w/ any furniture reupholstering I may need in the future. I am so happy I found Rene through two prominent Interior Designers for repairing an antique stool, one of a pair from 1905. They were brought over from Scotland by family and while I had them recovered years ago the leg was in trouble. Rene was prompt and gracious and repaired the piece exactly as the other one had decades ago, only better. I trust this man and with a lot of 19th and early 20th century pieces I am very happy with his workmanship. I highly recommend him and I know I'll use him again! read more
